Overall Score

Founded in 1999, Cricket Wireless is one of the largest prepaid phone service providers in the United States. Cricket reviews describe a mix of both positive and negative experiences with the company's customer service, network coverage, and overall quality of service.

Cricket Wireless provides some type of 4G LTE network coverage over most of the United States and offers international texting, data, and calls in select countries. The company claims to have upwards of 98 percent nationwide connectivity (which was bolstered by its acquisition by AT&T), allegedly covering more of the U.S. than several competitors.

Another important aspect that drives Cricket’s corporate DNA is data throttling. Every client gets a certain amount of high-speed data that comes with their plan each billing cycle, even if the plan is marketed as "unlimited." If a customer exceeds their allotted high-speed data usage amount, they notice a significant slowing of their Internet and data services. As a user approaches their monthly allowance, they may notice a slower data speed.

Jennifer Van Buskirk is the current company president. Recently, the FCC approved AT&T’s $1.2 billion merger with Leap, Cricket’s parent company.

Large Selection

With a large selection of smartphone and other device options, customers are able to find a phone that fits their needs, including the new Samsung Galaxy S20. Although some pre-pay cellular services do not include Apple products, Cricket has the iPhone. In the past, users of prepaid services had a hard time finding the latest iPhone and users of prepaid phone services often had to settle for an older generation model. That is no longer the case.

Current customers appreciate the number of Android models that are available. While there are not that many Windows phones to choose from, Cricket does offer two nice Nokia models. Overall, the best variety of phones comes through Android-driven phones. All of Cricket's phones come with the standard operating systems that are on the market, including Android, iOS, and Windows.

To use your current phone with a new Cricket prepaid plan, you can purchase a $10 SIM card or bring an unlocked LTE-compatible device.

Cell Phone Plans

Cricket's basic monthly plan options include:

  • Talk and Text: unlimited calls and texts, but no data or picture/video messages ($25 per line)
  • 2 GB: Unlimited talk and texts and 2 GB data access ($30 per line)
  • 5 GB: Unlimited calls and texts and 5 GB data access ($40 per line)

The Unlimited plan, which costs $55 per month or $50 after the Auto Pay credit, includes:

  • Unlimited data access with upload speeds up to 3 Mbps
  • Video streaming at SD quality, about 480p
  • Unlimited calling, texts, and picture messages in the U.S.
  • Unlimited texts from the U.S. to 37 countries
  • Data access plus unlimited calls, texts, and picture messages to and from Canada and Mexico
  • HD voice and WiFi calling with compatible phone

The Unlimited Extra plan includes all the features of the Unlimited plan, plus unlimited high-speed data access with faster 4G LTE speeds, and 15 GB of mobile hotspot on compatible devices.

Cricket's unlimited data plan works well for family plans: You get four lines with unlimited data for $100 per month. Keep in mind that unlimited data refers to both high-speed data and lower-speed data. After 22 GB of high-speed data usage, Cricket may slow speeds.

Also, the Auto Pay credit is not available with multiline discounts or on promotional offers.

Add-On Features

Cricket offers these features as monthly add-ons at a reasonable price:

  • Cricket Protect, which covers you from device loss, theft, or malfunction ($7 per month)
  • Cricket International, which adds international communication coverage ($5-15 per month)
Individual Country Add-Ons, which include calling minutes and unlimited text, picture, and video messaging to Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Philippines, and Vietnam ($10-15 per month)
  • 1 GB High Speed, which can be used when the high-speed access included in your base rate plan is gone ($10 per month)
  • Mobile Hotspot, which makes your cell phone a Wi-Fi hotspot to which you can connect your laptop or tablet to the Internet on the go (also called tethering). This add-on is only available with current
  • Unlimited plans and select grandfathered plans ($10 per month)

Cricket offers 30 GB, 10 GB, and 3 GB data-only plans for hotspot data usage.

No Contract

Cricket has all the bells and whistles of a contract provider but doesn't require the contract.

Customer Service

There are plenty of storefront locations to get help with your Cricket wireless plan. For the most part, Cricket Wireless reviews report that Cricket does a good job of providing quality customer service. Prospective customers can speak to Cricket customer service using the live chat feature on the website.

Discounts

The 5 GB, Unlimited, and Unlimited Extra plans are eligible for savings with Auto Pay credit and group save discounts. Families can save up to $100 per month in discounts for up to five lines. Cricket does also offer a discount for each plan if you set up an automatic payment every month.

Plan Changes

Because the company does not require a contract, you can change your Cricket phone plan anytime you'd like for no charge. Once you switch plans, your plan will take effect immediately, unless you decide to wait until your next billing cycle. However, note that you can only change your plan twice per billing cycle, and any change may affect your current discounts.

Cricket Wireless also mandates that no more than one plan change per phone number can be scheduled to start on the next billing cycle.

The Bad

  • Data Throttling
  • High-Speed Unused Data Expires Monthly
  • Limited International Coverage
  • Claims Limits
  • Mixed Reviews

Data Throttling

While the data throttling option makes it easier for Cricket to "spread" data around and avoid charging overage fees, data throttling does kick in when a user is still within their allotted high-speed data amount for the month. This may make it difficult for users to check their email, surf the net, or access optimal download speeds for other purposes.

High-Speed Unused Data Expires Monthly

When purchasing the 1 GB high-speed data add-on, any high-speed unused data you have at the end of the month expires each cycle. So if you don't use up all of your additional data, you pay for it anyway.

Limited International Coverage

With the Cricket Unlimited plan, customers can call, text, and use data in Mexico and Canada. However, in the additional 37 countries with coverage, calls are not covered — only text message communication including picture/video messages. To access coverage in additional countries, you need to purchase an individual country monthly add-on.

Claims Limits

The Cricket Protect add-on covers a maximum replacement value of $1500 per claim of loss, theft, accidental physical damage or liquid damage, in-warranty exchanges, and out-of-warranty malfunction, which is really good coverage. However, each customer is limited to two claims per 12 months. For the accident-prone customer, two claims may not be enough.

Mixed Reviews

Cricket Wireless reviews are mixed, which makes it difficult to decide if the cell phone provider is a trustworthy company. Many reviews highlight poor customer service and slow data, while also appreciating Cricket's low price and affordable plans. If you want to learn more, you can find Cricket Wireless reviews below.

gavel

The Bottom Line

There are pros and cons to the Cricket Wireless prepaid plans. The service provider features the latest Android, iOS, and Windows operating systems and the latest phones.

Cricket offers flexible plans and includes optional add-ons that let users customize their phone plans as needed, with variable data plans and lines needed per account. Cricket does a good job with multi-line discounts with a four-member family plan costing only $100 per month.

However, one of Cricket's major downfalls — like any major carrier — is its data throttling. When you reach your data limit, your Internet usage will dramatically slow and will not pick back up again until the start of your next billing cycle.

On August 29, we went to the Cricket store to become new customers of this company, since we have been connected to T-Mobile for a long time and decided to switch to Cricket. We were offered a connection for $100 for four lines and a Motorola phone for $80. But when it was time to pay, they charged us $300. When we asked why $300 and not $180, the employee said that it was a fee. We turned around and left. So Cricket lost new customers. And I do not recommend this company to anyone. A very strange approach to new customers.

I've had Cricket service for the past 4 years. I chose Cricket over Verizon because the cost was less than half of what I was paying before. However, in recent years, the functionality of their payment system, and the quality of their customer service, has declined dramatically. In the past 4 years, they have turned off my auto-pay and disconnected my phone line, despite there being sufficient funds in my connected bank account, 4 times. Each time, I have had to pay a $5 reconnection fee. The past 2 times, they have made it exceedingly difficult to pay the fee and reconnect my line. It's nearly impossible to reach a live human on the phone (and it often hangs up on you after 10 minutes), and their automated phone system is so poorly designed and so unresponsive to human input that it does not work well enough to use to pay a bill. Their website has so many issues -- the last time I tried it, the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 wouldn't work in their Bill Pay system. This meant I had to pay $9 instead of $5 for the reconnection fee, AND it was impossible to enter my credit card number to set up Autopay (for the 5th time since I've had this account). When I finally reached a human on their chat function (after a frustrating and unsuccessful conversation with their automated system, that couldn't recognize simple requests), they completely denied that there was any problem on their end. I've tried resolving these issues at a store. While they were very nice, they were not authorized to receive payment or fix any of the issues, so they had to refer me back to the website & phone number. Each time they have disconnected my autopay, I have gone and tried to reconnect it right away. Even when they do accept my payment info, it often takes days to process -- and in the meantime, they disconnect my phone. This past week, I paid to reconnect on Wednesday, and now it's Saturday and I still don't have cell service. In the meantime, I lose any incoming calls or text messages. (The last time this happened, I called and asked them whether I could recover my missing texts. They said I'd have to get a subpoena and get the police to request this from them, in order to get those text messages back -- otherwise, they would not help.) While I certainly have saved money by using Cricket instead of Verizon, the amount of hassle involved in paying for and keeping my line active is just not worth it. As difficult as they make it to pay for and keep your service, it almost makes me wonder whether they are actively trying to drive away their customers. I am actively looking for a new cell provider, and can't wait to be done with them.

Worst experience ever in my life with any kind of service. Please think twice before going there. I bought a new phone and wanted to switch to a different carrier, so I chose Cricket. Big mistake. Everything was fine until I tried to make regular phone calls. It didn't work; the calls were cut, and when someone called me, it went straight to voicemail. So, I went to the store. They reviewed the phone, checked configurations, and found nothing. I asked if it could be a phone problem because it was new, and they told me that it wasn't. They asked me to call customer service because they couldn't do anything else. So, I called that day. After an hour of waiting, I finally got someone. The woman did the same as the tech people in the store, and, of course, it didn't work. She told me that she would contact the technicians at the store to review my case and call me back at 10 am. That, of course, never happened!!! So, I called again that afternoon. After another hour of waiting, I got someone. A new woman answered me, so I had to explain everything again. She tried all kinds of solutions again, but nothing worked. She even changed the phone number of the line, but it didn't work. As a last resort, she disconnected the physical line to connect an eSIM. That didn't work either. And here is the worst part: she told me that at this point, she had to report the problem to another department, and maybe they could fix the problem. But she never reconnected my physical SIM again!!!! So now, not only can I not make calls, but I also don't have any service at all. Of course, I never got any response from any department of the company or anyone. I lost the money of the line and the activation because they don't refund anything even when they mess up. And, to make matters worse, they still charged me for the next month. DON'T GO THERE. THEY ARE SHIP FOR A REASON!!!!!

Do not pay this company for international plan. What they do at the middle of the month, after you paid your monthly bill, you can not make a call, so if you have 1000 unit , they only allow you to use 500 and then when you try to call your phone says “ you are not allowed to make this call at this time try again later” you call the customer service they are rude, hang the phone on me several time, one of them called Chris if that is his real name. For one week they where not able to fix my international line to allow me make calls, I pay $15 just a waste of money you can not use their service and they are so lack customer service. Be aware !!!!!!!

After about 7 hrs trying to get my phone unlocked, I quit. I met all the criteria for getting my phone unlocked and cricket was unable/unwilling/incompetent to unlock their own device that they sold me. I am currently a #Crickethostage and unable to use my phone in Europe which is a safety issue as a solo traveler or any type of traveler. Every time I called, they gave me a different excuse as to why they couldn’t unlock my phone. Not to mention getting hung up on and not being called back. And even though I have receipts from my phone purchase they proceeded to tell me I didn’t buy the phone with them. I went back to the store I purchased my phone at and they denied the store too. Even they were frustrated and agreed I met the unlock criteria. I will spare you from the 7 hours of my frustrating experience. I now have to go spend a few hundred dollars to get an unlocked phone (the same one I currently have which is so stupid) when they can just unlock what I have. I think they made an error on my IMEI code prior to selling me my phone. I wish they would just make it right. I just needed to be on a different network for three weeks in Europe and had planned to get my phone running on Cricket once I returned. Sadly if they are still unable to unlock my phone, I am unable to return to the service and will pay more elsewhere for better customer service. This review is null and void if they are able to do what is right and unlock my phone. Again, I have met the 6 month criteria and there isn’t a logical or real reason why they can’t unlock my phone. Cricket if you read this, please just help do what you promised.

Came to purchase a new phone. Staff explained options and I chose an upgrade. When this phone was brought out to set up on my account, the staff found that the phone was not working properly. He tried several different things but was unable to get it to work properly. He suggested I choose another phone and contacted Cricket on the phone to help. The phone I chose was $103 less than the phone I had originally chosen but did NOT receive due to no fault of my own or this staff person. When I contacted the district manager Jessica,, I received no answer for 4 days. When I finally called in and spoke to another staff person at this office, I was told I could not get my upgrade fee of $25 (plus tax) refunded to me. They asked me to call the worker and ask him to paay me the money out of his pocket!!! What???? This is beyond unethical...because their phone was defective and UNAVAILABLE for me to purchase....I still have to pay for an upgrade fee for a phone that I didnt get? Or else the poor guy who was working alone with a dozen customers waiting for service is penalized....all because he was honest and wouldnt sell me a defective phone!!! I am a loyal 10 year plus Cricket customer and this is how Im treated over $25. It is no wonder they cant get anyone to work in their stores...what a way to treat an employee who was only doing his best to give good customer service. This review will be going on as many sites as possible, as I think its important for people to know how Cricket treats their loyal customers and employees! I am beyond angry!

had a terrible experience with Cricket service and this store, and I would not recommend them to anyone. My only transaction with this store was absolutely dreadful, and if there was an option to give them zero stars in a Google review, I would. When I started the service yesterday, there was no signal at home using this new line from Cricket. Naturally, I returned to the store with the receipt, expecting a refund. However, the store instructed me to call customer service instead. I complied and called customer service, who then told me to go back to the store for a refund. So, once again, I returned to the store. To my dismay, the store manager refused to issue a refund. This seems illogical to me. How can a customer determine if the service works properly if the line isn't even activated? It seems unfair that once the service is activated, there is no option for a return. Currently, I am being charged $66 for returning the service. Therefore, I urge you to exercise extreme caution when considering starting a service with Cricket. This is not an honest way of conducting business!

One day my phone stopped working. Cricket said I no longer had an account. Why? Cricket ported my telephone number to another carrier without my permission or even my knowledge. They send you a text when they are about to bill you each month but NO TEXT when they are about to port your phone number without your permission? The thieves now had access to EVERYTHING on my phone and stole whatever they could: email accounts, credit cards, bank accounts, brokerage accounts and this only scratches the surface. Their horrific customer service then threw gasoline on the fire. I was never able to contact one competent person. All they did is read a bunch of lies off the computer screen. STAY AWAY FROM CRICKET.

I was very happy with cricket until I needed to login to my account to update my new debit card information for autopay. I tried and tried to login with no success. I requested my password, entered my phone number but never received the text from cricket! I tried over and over. I chatted with the automated system which also was no help at all. The next day my service was shut off. I had to call cricket and update my info plus pay an extra $19 to reactivate my service! Cricket should have let me make these updates before my service was cancelled. This is VERY FRUSTRATING! Cricket is no longer the best in my book.

My account was enrolled in auto pay and we have been customers for years. Then I received a text my card was expiring in April, so if course I call to update the information. Then in May I received another text that card was expired. I tried calling but hold time was over half an hour so I updated through the automated system and received a text that we where all set. Two days later Cricket turned our phone service off for non payment. Call the customer service and was hung up on twice. Has to pay $99 at the local cricket store to get service back on and once against n update the card information in the system for autopay. THE WORST customer service and a scam by this company to overcharge the customer

I hate the idea of having to even give it a star just to write a review this has been the most horrible experience I have ever had to deal with with any kind of song for phone service you can't pay your phone over the phone you can't pay it through the website you can can't get it paid speaking to somebody through customer service they're just as ignorant as the robotic trying to figure out how to help you I am so surprised that this has not been reported to the I just found out this morning that I have been paying for phone insurance but I don't know how long when I had specifically told them that I did not need any kind of insurance coverage today I walk into the Fredericksburg Texas store and I'm getting charged $70 instead of the $60 that I pay on my plan I asked the girl there why it's $70 and she said that it was because I have insurance I have never had to pay for insurance all of a sudden I walk into the store in my area and I'm getting charged $10 extra for something I have never been charged for like insurance coverage that I have never signed up for ever!!!..Better Business bureau needs to investigate cricket and if not cricket their employees as well they're hiring all kinds of criminals who are stealing your credit card information! Last year I had my credit card information stolen by cricket and or a employee of cricket or a third party that cricket shares our information with anyway they pretty much emptied my bank account ‼️

I have been trying to get my cricket phone unlocked (meets requirements) for over 2 months. Have called over 13 times, and spent many hours trying to get this done and still not unlocked. They have opened multiple cases(C-9JWJA4, C-VGV22C), sent me a new phone and still can not unlock it. I have been a customer for over 6 years and this is the first time I have needed their service and it has been a complete failure on their end. They gave me a claim number for the new phone they sent me(10214622) and then tell me that this is an invalid number. I told them I can send you the email that you sent me with it on, but they can't get emails sent to them. This is your number you gave me, I didn't make it up. If you do need support, plan on many hours and calls before they will fix the problem. And in my case they never did. An unhappy customer of 6 years. Tom K

Service is slow. I use my phone for pretty much everything. I don't have wifi at my home. Internet connection is extremely slow. 80% of the time I am not able to load websites. Everything is massively delayed when internet works. It isn't my phone. I reset, switch from airplane mode and back. Monitor my memory storage. Clean cookies and saved data from my phone regularly. It isn't my phone. It's the carrier. I do not recommend cricket to anyone. They do absolutely nothing in customer service to help you. If towers go down in a area. They will deni it. Service is dangerously slow. Internet connection even with full bars in extremely slow. Often if you do connect it takes 5 plus minutes sometimes to get a website loaded. The service is crap. The plans are significantly cheaper and they offer great deals. But they do not follow through and the quality of service you get in those deals are crap. I have reached out to customer service several times. Each time they say it's my phone not the connection or service. Don't go with cricket. They are cheap but you don't get what you are paying for.

I purchased a cell phone online from Cricket. I was required to pay 3 months of phone service up front in order to get the phone at a discounted rate. I also added on $8 phone insurance. Towards the end of the 1st month and again towards the end of the 2nd month, I received an alert that if I did not pay, my service would be disconnected. There was never any explanation of why I was getting warnings for nonpayment when I had paid in advance. I received a message at the beginning of this month (June) that I owed $16. After looking into my account, there was no breakdown or explanation of what the $16 was for, but I made an assumption that it was for two months of phone insurance. I paid the $16 via Apple Pay and the payment shows on my Apple Pay account. However, the next day, my Cricket service was suspended. After speaking with 4 different reps, one of which was a manager, I was able to pay the $16 through the fourth rep and get my service restored around 3:15pm. I had to explain my situation 4 separate times, used my 15 minute break and 30 minute lunch on the phone with Cricket. They just repeated back EVERYTHING I said to them and the first two reps and manager I spoke with did not help AT ALL. Not only did they claim they did not receive my payment, but they were trying to charge me $5 reactivation fee and a $4 service fee on top of the $16. I feel like they went above and beyond to try to get every dollar they could from me. I have gone 15 hours without service today, even though I already paid for the whole month. If they are going to force a customer to pay for service up front, the additional features added on at the time of purchase should be included so that an $8 phone insurance fee doesn't get my $60 service disconnected. The extemely spotty service at times added on to today's issue has shown me that I made a HUGE mistake by switching to Cricket and I feel that this company is deceptive and a rip off!!

I have been with Cricket for more than ten years but I am now looking for another service provider. Cricket offers no deals to their loyal existing customers but gives new customers great discounts on phones and service. I recently purchased the worst Cricket phone imaginable the ovation 2 and I've had nothing but problems since the purchase I went to purchase new phones for my family and none of the phones I wanted were in store due to Cricket trying to force the most expensive phones on customers and refusing to put the more affordable phones in store. I called several Cricket dealerships, including the one I went to, and all of the numbers are disconnected. I will not be spending any more of my hard earned dollars with cricket and I will be finding a new service provider before it's time to pay my bill again. Ridiculous

I've had cricket for a long time. Just got off the phone with these people. They obviously outsource to India or some non-USA place. I recently had to do a bridge pay, something I'm not really familiar with. Yet do to an unforeseen circumstance had to find out about bridge pay and do that. Two days later I paid the remaining balance plus more, like I usually do. Yet, found out today my phone was off. I supposedly broke the bridge pay agreement. I asked this extremely clueless rep over and over again why this and why that. She could barely answer anything. I even added for her... simple math, yet she comes back with some figure that doesn't even add up. Supposedly the $15 you pay is supposed to go to your bill....NO! Only $10 goes to it. And yet the amount she said I owed....still in no way shape and form made any sense. So now I guess Cricket wireless has resulted in ripping off their customers. I need my phone. My phone is not for selfies and other superficial nonsense. This has truly ticked me off. Will blast them to everyone I know.

I have a wireless internet device from Cricket. The service has been horrible for the past five months and now the unit can't open the internet at all. I took the unit to the Cricket store where I purchased it and was told I could send it for warranty repair and have it back in a week (therefore no internet for a week) or I could buy a new unit. I work from home so there was no choice, I bought the new unit and requested the warranty claim on the old unit. The store didn't bother to tell me I wouldn't get a warranty claim through if they sold me a new device. Not only was I charged for the new unit, I was charged a $25 "upgrade" fee. I paid $115 for replacing their broken device. After leaving their store without any help, spending hours on their chat line, and 3 calls to their service department, I finally got a call back after 3 hours. I couldn't get a claim processed because the new device I had to purchase this morning deactivated the old device and was not recognizable for warranty claim. After 30 minutes on the phone, I finally got a return authorization for the warranty claim. As soon as I get the warranty box back, I am returning the new device purchased this morning, demanding a full refund, and cancelling any and all services I have with Cricket (4 phones, 1 internet device). I have wasted an entire day and have received an unbelievable run around to get this device warrantied. This is not customer service - not by a long shot.

Cricket is horrible. They are rude and have terrible customer service. If you all to ask to speak to a supervisor they put you on indefinite hold. My mother changed her number due to too many spam calls and was told she would need to pay $15 on her next bill, she agreed, once they changed her number they called and said they were mistaken and she needed to pay the $15 up-front. She said she could not and was asked i she could lay within 24 hours. She agreed this was at 5:30p yet her phone was disconnected at midnight and she was charged a $47 reconnect fee. They refused to turn on her phone until after letting the phone ring for over an hour (NOT an exaggeration) before a supervisor picked up, after speaking with 5 people including at rep posing as a sup, we spoke to Marcus he apologized for the ordeal and got her phone reconnected. The next morning they disconnected her phone again. When I told the rep (Janes) the issue we had previously and that Marcus had helped us he said the phone was off because she needed an update to 4g and to go to cricket and get a new phone..I explained that her phone was working fine yesterday and this was ridiculous to which he responded "Then why don't you call Marcus!" and hung up on me I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and rep(Vickie ) said sure then put me on hold without asking for any info and I was on hold for 1hour and 35 mins and no one ever answered. I am moving my mother's phone to my T-Mobile carrier. She is 70 years old and loves alone.. what a horrible experience and I now plan to tell everyone I possibly can what a horrible complaint Cricket is and that they should be out of business for trading period so badly. They will not last because you can't treat people so badly and expect to be successful.

I tried a different service for a few weeks and went back to a Cricket store to transfer the phone number back to Cricket. He deactivated the number. I went to another Cricket store and they called Cricket and asked them to reactivate it. Cricket refused. I can't log into Facebook, Amazon, Google, Google drive and Gmail since I used that number for a safe login. I will post this on as many websites as I can to let people know how Cricket treats customers of several years. I will post this experience on social media wherever I can. I wish I could leave zero stars. If they still won't reactivate the number I will go to another carrier.

My daughter bought me an iPhone from cricket in June and by August I was having trouble charging it. I called cricket and they said it was under warranty but I had to go through apple. Well through them they want to charge me almost $300 to fix it!! My daughter didn't even pay that much for the phone!! Needless to say I WON'T BE GETTING ANOTHER PHONE THROUGH THEM AMD I MIGHT EVEN SEITCH PHONE PROVIDERS!! I've been trying to get it fixed since August and they come out with that BS!! 3 different cricket stores told me that they should have just sent me a new replacement but of course apple didmt!! I guess business is so bad they have to take advantage of us!! SO SAD!!#

Last year i lost my phone . As a stop gap to keep connected I bought a cheap cricket phone with the intent to throw it away as soon as i could replace or find my phone. In between Time I bought a 100% unlocked and paid for phone. You could put any sim in it and it was golden. There were a couple of moments where the cricket phone was about to die as i was closing a deal. So i simply popped the sim in my unlocked phone until the cricket phone charged. Like I used to keep an older Samsung to use as a charger- switching batteries rather than sims but same basic principle. To make it short cricket used this as an excuse to sim lock my unlocked phone and refuse to unlock a phone that was never theirs to lock. I don’t see what they get out of this practice. Other than they have guaranteed that I’ll never be a customer again and that they will never get to use the phone they illegitimately locked. They tell me that policy dictates that they can’t unlock my phone because I don’t meet their criteria. I respond well itit wasn’t my policy that they should ever lock my phone that they lack the criteria to do so…so I’m not trying to hear their bs about policy. If they can lock it with out even the courtesy to ask , they can unlock it just as easily. #cricket=badbiz

My line was cancelled and they accused me of canceling my own ph. They claim that it was done from my number but refused to prove the evidence. We are on the EBB plan and the bill was paid before it was due. They said $15 would turn it back on but then it jumped to $25.00 and then $70. We have been loyal customers for a long time and we spent near 6 hours on the ph with customer service. Nothing was accomplished to resolve the issue. We will be switching providers. Very poor customer service and lack of knowledge on their part. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! IN THE END IT AIN'T WORTH IT!

I have a Samsung A10e which was released in 2019 (so still fairly new) and is compatible on 2,3 and 4G networks. With Crickets new "upgrade" I was told that as of 2/22/22 my phone would no longer work. But 2 weeks before that date, my phone was disconnected. I called customer service and I was advised that since my phone worked with 4G I would be ok. But then a couple days later I was shut off again. So again I called. I was told now Cricket will not be supporting my phone and I will need to get one of their phones or be disconnected. I told them I would switch but to please stop disconnecting me because I use my phone for business purposes and it was disrupting my business. I was told they noted it but again a couple days later I was shut off yet again. Same scenario same promise to not be shut off but again today, I was shut off. When I called this time, I asked to speak to a supervisor as the so called customer service woman was NOT helpful. I was put on hold and hung up on. I have been with Cricket for over 5 years and I'm very disappointed and frustrated that this is what it has come to. No help, no answers. I have to give up a phone I love and only had for 2 years just to stay on service. No thank you. I will be moving to a different carrier who lets me decide what kind of phone I get to have/ keep.

Horrible Customer Service Twice now I have had issues with my bill. After thinking it was resolved again spent a long period of time in a chat only to have the chat disconnected while waiting for the rep to respond and being told that I was not responding. This is kind of a small thing but if you are going to ask me my name, then spell it right when you try to provide 'personable' service later in the chat. If you can't spell my name the way I gave it to you, then don't address me by my name. Also some reps seem to have poor English skills. One rep thanked my for my comprehension??? this did not apply at to anything in the midst of the chat. Will be looking for a new cell service.

this company keeps hijacking my phone calls and harassing me with text messages and threats to cut my PAID FOR service because they are killing my phone soon and want me to buy a new one from them, needless to say even if they had a decent phone I wouldn't stay with them. I have wasted hours and had company reps promise they would stop the hijacking and it has not stopped. It is very difficult to make a call from where I live with my disabilities and I cannot afford to waste a call just to have them hijack it. UPDATE ; I went in person to close account and even their own employees cannot get thru to "customer service", it took a long time and was unable to close acct. had to settle for removing auto pay so now if they bill me again I will just sick the credit card company on them.

Cricket has THE worst customer service Ive ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They dont listen to a word you say. I had a phone just recently that I purchased from Cricket that people couldnt hear me on unless speaker phone was on. So I paid the $75 deductible got a new phone and they told me the six months I had to stay with them in order for my phone to work on another carrier restarted. Ive been trying too get away from this company since the month I started service. No offense but no one speaks english that you can understand. Not one person that Ive ever dealt spoke english good enough to understand everything they said with out difficulty. The phone that I couldnt be heard on all of a sudden works perfect as soon as Cricket removed service from it and I used phone over wifi. Stay as far away as possible from this company. Thats my advice.

While out of town we bought a hotspot unit from the local Cricket store. We were told we had 6 days to return it if not satisfied. Turns out, it didn't hold a charge or give us the internet connection we needed. We took it back in less than 24 hours. THAT's when they told us our refund would be $80 less than what they charged us because "we don't refund usage fees." Okay, but we couldn't use it because it didn't work. They gave us a "complaint phone number." For the next 4 days, we tried to get through. After extended wait periods, we'd finally get someone on the line and then get "disconnected" exactly after telling them our story. It happened 3 or 4 times. Finally I got someone who said she couldn't help, but she would get a supervisor or call me back. To "keep the line clear" because the call was forthcoming. No call. Next day, I powered through and finally got a supervisor who said "Cricket is a no refund company. Since your account was activated, we cannot give you a refund. And to set your expectations, no matter who you talk to, you will not get a refund." He also said their upper management do not have phones or email addresses!! Unbelievable! I wish I had checked the BBB before buying from them. It is FULL of complaints just like ours. My advice: Don't do business with them. I feel like I got scammed.

Totally Disappointed with this Cricket Wireless company, DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU DONT HAVE TOO. I've been a on time paying customer for 5 months, came up short for a whole months service so I did the bridge pay, long story short I was late to make the 2nd payment which is due 7 days later, my phones are shut off, for me to turn them back on they want the whole months service, bridge pay for (7 days) cost me 110$. for 7 days! My check came in late so was unable to pay the 90$ for the remainder of the month, they want 210$ for my phones to be turned back on. 15$ of which is a re activation fee. Called customer service and all I got from a manager was, it's our company policy. I feel ripped off having to pay them 100$ + for the same monthly service I pay at the sum of 190$. So I asked about getting the unlock codes for our phones, we paid 1,199.00 dollars × 2 plus taxes for 2 Samsung galaxy s20 pluses, I own these phones, they are my phones, they will not unlock them because ther (Company Policy) says the the phones have to be active for 6 months on crickets services. All of this is bad business. I paid full retail price for these phones, they are mine... not crickets. so I fined my self with out a phone for 2 weeks tell I get paid to pay there thieving hands, and yes when I pay them that 6th payment I will get my phones unlocked and go else where, I will not be charged 100+ $$$ for missing a payment by 5 hours.. this 100$ late charge costed them my business. I'm not an animal that can be thrown around, Cricket wirless get with today, treat people/Customers like you want to keep there business. This is my experience with Cricket Wirless..

i like the coverage.it is good but their customer service is very bad.I had a phone for over 6 months. Then went in to the cricket store to upgrade to a better phone. They checked my account to see if i was eligible for a upgrade which i was.if it had not been 6 months they would have said not eligible for the good price i gave my older phone to a family member.Well cricket locked my older phone.which i paid for it is mine. They lied and said they will not unlock the older phone because it was only used 3 months.Flat out lie.Any way it should not matter.it is my phone.I paid for it.cricket says they are a no contract company. That is a lie then.Cricket has no right to keep my older phone locked.to try and force me to use their service for another person i gave the phone to.I have been with cricket for 10 years I should have already left.Their cusfomer service is bad.so if you buy a cricket phone. They will keep it locked. No contract should mean you can decide not to use their service. But they will keep your phone locked.Like illegal black mail it seems.Their are other better companies that do not act like this.At & T owns cricket.and i turned off my home phone because they put services on my home phone without permission all the time.Crooks and liars.Cricket should be ashamed of treating people mean. They should do the right thing and unlock my old phone.

I've been with cricket for a looooong time. I now have a Nokia phone and it is TRASH. I called 4 times in one day because of the freezing. I use my phone for work and because of it I'm losing money. I contacted c.s. and they followed the same script, reset and good bye. Got hung up twice because of their incompetence. This company does not care if your phone isn't working, they do care if you pay your bill. And if you don't they cut you off, but what if their service isn't working? Oh yeah they don't care but they still expect you to pay a bill on a service that doesn't work. I know you don't care cricket but I'm moving on. Signed, a no longer loyal customer. I'll give my money to a company who cares.

Bought our phones years ago. iPhone 8+ and Android. No contact paid on time. Our phones were on auto pay. For some unknown reason the Android was removed. I called and was assured by rep that it would be fixed. The website makes it impossible to do this you’re self. Adding lines isn’t for fixing it. NO one ever told me you have to go to the store! I my husband started getting text messages a day or so to pay his bill. Last bill was due on 12-27-20 I sent payment and it sat so was charged $14.00 extra to reactivate his phone again! This happened 3 times! Cricket holds payment so service stops then you have to pay for reactivating. Decided to go elsewhere. Not one person ever told us if you’re phones are locked you can’t go elsewhere and have your # ported to use! Also informed that both our account numbers were incorrect at store and both employees stated, per corporate we are not allowed to give the numbers to you or unlock phones! Unbelievable! Employees said to call corporate office there in store and the rep said ‘Cricket refuses to unlock phones unless we pay for another month +activation fees. ‘ By now steam is coming out of my ears. I called spoke to a rep Maria demanded our account numbers she was very apologetic and stated the two employees at the Colorado Springs store on Academy wrong in everything they did and said.We meet the having service for at least 6 months. We are senior citizens on a fixed income. Daughter got me a Track phone so if any emergency can get help. My husband bought a new phone elsewhere with a carrier that doesn’t lock any of your devices. How does Cricket get away with this practice is beyond my understanding. DO NOT USE CRICKET EVER!!!. Companies like this should be put out of business or ever.

This morning I called CUSTOMER CARE due to the fact that they suspended my account, when I still had 5 service days left on my account. They mentioned to me that it was due to adding 30GB of Hot Spot data last night, when I did not. I actually called they automated line and added only 15GB of Hot Spot data and paid for it over the phone and was even given a confirmation number. Still, they wanted me to pay the full amount due on my account, which was my normal plan, plus pay for the additional hotspot they added to my account without my approval. The CSR claimed she could not do anything about it, so in order to cut my service back on, I had to be placed on their Bridge Pay and forced to pay half of my bill that was supposed to be due on the 26th. If this is how they trick people into paying for their mistakes, then it's not a good company to get involved with. They could have fixed their mistake, but chose not to. They'd rather make their customers pay additional services against their wishes by suspending their customers account and giving them no other option but to pay for their plan way before their bill is even due. They could have just had me pay for the 15GB of hotspot they added and reactivated my account since I had 5 service days left and my bill wasn't due until the 26th. Terrible phone provider, no different than Metro PCS. Will be switching providers due to how they treated this situation. Very shady, and not a trustworthy company to get involved with. Plus they sell your information, which you will get tons of spam calls/texts, which all they'll do is tell you to enter your phone number in some website to have it unlisted, which doesn't work whatsoever.

I switched my daughter & I from a more reputable company because Cricket offered significantly lower prices. I have friends & family that claimed they were good. Cricket offered a payment plan to purchase a new phone, which I did for my daughter. Within the first 2 weeks, we noticed that they had TERRIBLE coverage (calls were choppy, dropped calls, incredibly slow data). When I tried to move & take our numbers with us, they held a phone hostage since we weren't with them 6 months. I called & argued with Customer Service to let her phone go...to unlock her phone. I was told to "buy her a new phone". The phone was 2 months old, NEW phone, but Cricket has it locked. They suggested that I continue with her coverage. My daughter cannot use her new phone until January, when the 6 months are up & I have to call again to get it unlocked. I replied "And give you money for service that doesn't provide what it's supposed to?" I DO NOT RECOMMEND CRICKET WIRELESS!!! I'm surprised they are still in business!

John ,

I decided to switch to Cricket on October 15, at 12:40pm. I've used Cricket in the past and never had any problems. They were a great company, low price, and descent enough data speeds. So, I didn't think anything of returning to them now. However, this time around, the data speeds were very slow at my home. I could hardly get anything done online and it was near impossible to get my computer to connect to the WIFI hotspot. I was disappointed, so I decided to switch again. Cricket has a 7 day return policy, so I didn't think it I'd have any trouble. I brought the phone back to the same location at about 12pm today, October 22. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a day is 24 hours. I should have until October 22, 12:40pm, right? Well, Cricket counts the full day I started service, even before I was actually with them. To me, that's just misleading and dishonest. I wish I had been able to switch away and return the phone before today, so there wouldn't be any question. It's sad because I went from simply a little dissatisfied with the speeds to completely against Cricket. I would have still recommended them to a friend and thought they were a great company. Now, I want nothing to do with them. That was a complete waste of nearly $100. By the way, they also have an activation fee of $25. I thought that was a little messed up. But, that's not the main issue I wanted to write this review for. I don't recommend Cricket Wireless.

My payment was scheduled for the 25th of the month. It was taken out 2 times. I call cricket and the person i spoke to started ticket on it and assured me i would definetly get my money back and any overdraft fee i could incur as well. Then hours later i get a call from Cricket telling me no they would not give me my money back, that they dont so refunds and all they would do was pit it toward next months bill. Now mind you i explained to them i am on a fixed SSI income and this would cause a chain event of all of my other bills now being late because once my ssi check is deposited it is automatically going to take out for the $50 i was overcharged and also a $30 overdraft fee. Their response was oh well nothing we can do we will not be giving your money back it will go on your next bill. I also explained to them that this will cause 6 of us in our household to drop our service with them and she didnt care because hey they already have my money. I advise you to think twice before going with Cricket because they will take your money and not care the harm it can cause. Especially with everything we are going theough with Covid 19. Cricket is doing nothing to help their customes during this time..

If you came to this page to check out Cricket & are thinking of transferring services. DO NOT DO IT. RUN!!! I had ATT for 18 years, switched to Cricket to save money a year ago. Dumbest thing I could have done. Service is subpar and phones do not last. After a year I was forced to upgrade and this issue began: A week of customer service nightmare: Fri - ordered new phone online Mon - phone delivered, attempted to activate online. Received a message to call Customer Service so I did. They couldn't activate it so a ticket was put in and "it'll be fixed within 24 hours" They tell me they'll call with an update, I point out my phone doesn't work & I can't be reached that way. They tell me to call in for updates. Tues - no phone, I call & my line was suspended. But they don't know why. At first they said it's because I owed them money (didn't/don't - autopay & bought the phone outright) then they tell me it's a glitch on their end & it'll be fixed in 24 hours (nevermind the first 24 hours) Again I'm told they'll call me with an update. We have the same discussion & I ask to be emailed updates. Wed - no phone, call & chat customer service. Still no fix but you guessed it, it'll be fixed within 24 hours (see a theme? I do too but it's okay because that goes out the window in a moment) Again I'm told they'll call me with an update. We have the same discussion & I ask to be emailed updates. (we have this same convo multiple times a day) Thurs - no phone. I chat customer service & it'll be fixed ASAP. Thurs night I call in & after quite a few rounds I'm told it'll be fixed in 4 - 7 business days. Yes, you read that right. FOUR TO SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS. I do not have a phone because of an issue on their side & I'm supposed to wait 4-7 business days after already waiting 3. This is all the first time they've changed it up from the "Fixed in 24 hours" I begin talking to Metro PCS about switching & what I need to do. Guess what? I can't transfer since my line is suspended. I get back on chat with Cricket & they cannot restore my old account ( I told them I don't care if the phone works, I just need whatever to transfer). I"m literally stuck with NO phone, a full monthly bill & nothing to show for it. AND I CAN'T LEAVE. I'm being held hostage. I also cannot take the phone I bought outright because I have not had it activated with Cricket for 6 months. So yeah, no contract but even if you buy your phone outright you don't own it for 6 months. The customer service is horrendous. If you get someone on the phone they're likely to accidentally disconnect you. I've had supervisors straight up hang up on me. I cannot call anyone other than customer service & go through the entire spiel of what's wrong to get an update on the ticket #. They haven't even offered me any kind of rebate or discount, just keep telling me they're sorry for the inconvenience. I WANT OUT. If you've stuck with me this long, please heed my warning and DO NOT sign up with Cricket. You will regret it.

I have been a cricket member since the day they opened in Sylacauga, Al. I have had some bad and good experiences but this one is the worse that I have had to deal with with any company. IS MY PRIVACY, the Sylacauga location has violated everything about my privacy. I reported a phone lost/stolen on my account, and then someone went down to the Sylacauga store and the girl in there over rided my pin code on a lost/stolen line, let them reopen a new line in there name, they changed my pin code, the thing also is that i am still paying on the phone through progressive, cricket couldn't turn the phone off that the person took off my account due to they had a pin code on the account, but i said my account had a pin on it. The phone number was still the same number, Cricket has violated my privacy. And i am going to seek attorney advice and i have gave the Sylacauga store over a week to handle this but they have not.

Idk why you guys are not willing to be a little more lenient with due dates with everything going on. People are NOT just being "laid off" for a few weeks, we are loosing our jobs fully and companies are just calling it laid off so they don't have to pay unemployment for people. All I asked for was 2 more days to get my last check from my job that decided to let go of my entire department and even though I found a new job I of course won't get that first check for 2-3 weeks. You have really shown how much you care about your customers and it's pathetic and you guys should be ashamed of yourself. Everyone knows you are a low income phone service provider and most of your customers are considered "essential" workers so we obviously don't have loads of cash sitting around and during a pandemic you'd think you guys would offer a little more assistance for your customers. Sense my phone hardly works anyway, instead of staying with you guys when I get my check tomorrow night I will be switching providers. Good luck in your poor endeavors

I have been a cricket wireless customer for 6 years. I was furious this morning when I woke up to a suspended account. I paid my bill early and had no reason to be suspended. When I called customer service to find out why I was informed that by adding a hotspot I was due to pay an additional fee because due to a glitch I had been given the hot spot 2 days early. I tried to find out how their glitch was my fault and they continued to say they understood but I owed the fee and a reactivation fee. Tell me how was it my fault their app glitched and why was I being penalized for it. I went through 4 people and was disconnected 2 times with no call back. They continued to tell me the only fix they had was to charge me the reactivation fee. They screwed up and I was charged for it. Unfortunately due to it being a family plan and my family traveling at the moment and needing to have service I had to pay. However I am now researching other phone services and have to say that if you plan on signing up for Cricket Wireless DONT!!!!!!! They take from the consumer and could care less. They offer no help and except for their robotic repeated sentence of "I understand" and they truly don't care.

Worst Service Ever!!! I just spent the last 40 minutes trying to pay my bill on the App which was down, then went to the website and got all the way to inputting my card info when the site froze. Then my service was cut off!!!!! I called to make a payment with a rep and restore my service and they were closed. Then I was charged 9 additional dollars on top of my bill to use the automated service. Calling during "normal businesses hours" tomorrow to cancel and go with another company. I've been with Cricket since it became available in this town anticipated it actually because I was so impressed with it from my home town...since AT&T took over customer satisfaction has taken a back seat to the corporate bottom line. And the Customer Service wasn't that great to begin with but at least it was there...now it's non existent.

I initially liked cricket til they kept suspending my service even though I paid them without fail before the due dates. In fact they still have $30 of mine and won't refund it. Customer service was decent but nobody could tell me why my account was suspended. After 20 calls , no lie, and possibly more, to them and speaking with manager after manager to fix this problem just so I could use my service they would hang up on me because the customer support couldn't do anything but walk you through things and take my money. My problem has never been resolved and there is still money on my cricket account that they refuse to give me back. I want my money back!! The phone is cheap and worthless to me. I'm seriously going to Yelp to complain and make this public. I will never use cricket again and I will warn everyone against using this company. I love my new phone company. Buyer beware with cricket! This is not a fake review. This is a review from a customer that absolutely has had the worst phone experience in my life.

My phone was hacked. Took me forever to get customer service. When I did could not find anyone that spoke "ENGLISH". Yes I speak English they would say but could not understand them. Then when I told them what had happened. They tell me sorry I will check on that. After 25 minutes on hold she comes back to tell me they will have to call me back. Really, the next day I call to find out what happened never heard from anyone. The lady says sorry that case has been closed. NOW I really frustrated get manager that says I'm to busy to help you. So I really think you should think twice before you go with them. Not my first problem with them. Had insurance on phone and that was a waste of money#!!#!

Cricket s a decent service provider. However their customer service is a nightmare. We had their service for about 3 years. We upgraded phones once in that time. We changed service providers a year and a half after the upgrade. Cricket promises that phones can be unlocked after 180 days of active service, which is pretty standard - until you go to unlock them. Imagine my surprise when I tried to unlock the phone with customer service after over 400 days of active service and was told the phone had been purchased and never activated! I asked Tara 3 times what documentation was needed to get the information corrected and was told there is no way to correct the information in the system and that there was no point in submitting the request to the tech team because they use the same information and wouldn't unlock the phone. The moral of the story: You will never own the Cricket phone you buy. It cannot be unlocked and becomes a very expensive paperweight.

I was cricket's biggest fan for years! I had a flip phone with unlimited data and messaging for a total of $25 a month. Awesome! No problems! Then I got a smart phone with a 2GB data plan. In over a year I never exceeded the data limit. Not even close! All I ever did was read news articles on the internet. Never streamed movies. Never watched youtube videos. Even those times when I was away from wifi and using the phone constantly, I never exceeded the limit...until now. About a year after signing up for the plan, I suddenly used up all my data by the middle of the month. The next month all my data was used up by the fourth of the month. And this month my data was gone by the second of the month. I can still access the internet, but the speeds are very slow and "somehow" the sites I most frequently access don't even connect for hours. The scam is utterly transparent. Cricket is causing my data usage to be falsely exceeded very quickly so that I am forced to upgrade to a more expensive plan. I expect that if I upgraded to anything but the unlimited plan, the same thing would happen in a year. Their customer service people might as well be robots, for all the help they offer. They simply keep repeating that you have used all your data and suggest that the real culprit is mysterious apps that are downloading all the data...even though I've disabled automatic updates. Cricket is running a very dishonest and illegal scam. I would advice people to stay away.

One day last week, I went to use my phone, and I couldn’t get a connection. I called customer service for Cricket Wireless and was told my phone number had been switched to AT&T. The change had taken place within an hour of when I called them. I explained to the rep that I had not made any changes to my account. A ticket was generated to look into the situation further. Come to find out, earlier that day, someone was able to add a phone line to my account. The credit card used for this transaction was NOT my credit card. Then, a verification link was sent to that new phone line to change my password. After that, my phone number was switched over to AT&T. For the next three days, I contacted Cricket customer service 2-3 times a day speaking to numerous reps and supervisors to see if any progress had been made on the investigation. I can’t begin to tell you how much time that sucked out my day to wait on hold hoping to get some answers. In the meantime, someone was clearly using my phone number, so I had to contact everyone I knew, doctor’s offices, etc… anyone who might call or text on my cell phone and tell them not to use that number. Finally, after going three days now without a phone, the case was closed only to find out that they did not see any “suspicious activity” on my account. Say what??? You’ve got to be kidding me! I have been a loyal Cricket customer for 3 years the whole time paying $120 a month on auto pay for three phone lines and never making any changes to my account. Then, within a period of a few minutes, a credit card that is not mine is used to add a 4th phone line to my account, gets a verification link to change my password, and switches only 1 phone on the account to AT&T. I have never felt so betrayed by a company, not to mention one that I have faithfully been a customer of for three years. The worst part is that whoever stole my phone number is going to get away with it. Needless to say, I am not a Cricket Wireless anymore. All three of my family’s phone lines are with a different carrier now. (btw, not AT&T either)

I was in Metro Pcs for more than 10 years but one day I accidentally went into the wrong store. (Cricket and Metro were side by side). The Employees convinced me to join Cricket by telling me that I would have the same plan as before plus two extra Lines. I later found out that this was a lie because I lost my hot spot when I joined cricket. But that is not all, after several months of paying faithfully I was too busy to pay on time. They cut my service on the 21 of July, 2019. When I paid my bill on the 22 of July they restored my service. On the 23rd I tried to make a phone call and the system took me the automatic service. The machine told me to activate bridge pay and I pressed okay. I later found out that my plan was locked and I could not make any calls until I payed the bridge pay. Keep in mind this was right after I had already reactivated my phone line and payed my debt. I contacted support and they told me that they could not do anything until I payed bridge pay. unfortunately I can not sue them because they have a policy that states, "You agree that we may, in our sole discretion, without limitation and without notice, limit, interrupt, suspend or cancel your Service for any reason, including, but not limited to: (a) any conduct that we believe violates the Agreement, these Ts&Cs, or our Policies; (b) your failure to have or maintain an adequate account balance; (c) if you behave in an abusive, derogatory or similarly unreasonable manner with any of our representatives; or (d) if we have reason to believe that your Device or our Service is being used for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose, a Prohibited Use or in a way that may adversely affect our Service." It also states,"Amounts paid for Service Charges are non-refundable and account balances are not transferable, refundable, or redeemable for cash. If your account is suspended or cancelled, for any reason, any remaining balance will be forfeited. When your account is cancelled we will re-assign the phone number associated with your account, and that phone number, identification number, or email address associated with your account may no longer be available to you. We may also charge you a fee to reactivate Service depending on when you reactivate." if you do not believe me go to their terms and conditions websites.

On April 2nd I called customer service to terminate my sons line because he told me his phone was stolen instead they turned my line off and suspended his line. I went to the cricket store they told me they couldn’t help me I would have to go find a cricket phone and call 611. Reminder they turned my phone off so I had to go to my daughters job use her phone and was put on hold for an hour. They told me it would be a hour. After an hour no service, so I called back then they say a day or two, I explained to them I use my phone for work. All they could say I’m sorry it has to investigated or you have to pay $70 to turn my phone back on. Cricket customer service was rude and inconsiderate when it was clearly their fault. I am without service but my bill is paid through auto pay and my phone is the primary phone on the account. I’ve missed a whole day of work over $200 today because I had no service. I am very dissatisfied with cricket service. Taking my service elsewhere when my phone in turned back on so I can keep my same number.

On 3/8/2019 my active phone number with Cricket got ported to a different cell phone carrier w/o my permission. I had gotten a text stating my pin # had changed which I did not do.When I stopped in to the Cricket office the cs rep called customer service dept. to which she had the company phone on speaker phone. The CS Rep told her my number had been ported over to another company by a guy out of CA. I told them I did NOT authorize this and how could someone just go in and steal my phone number like that. They offered no help, said they do NOT have a Fraud Alert Dept and could not even offer me a temporary phone number to use. My service was active and I've had this service for over 15 mos. My service was good up until March 15th and my bill is automatically deducted monthly. BE LEARY...it could happen to you and then your identity will be compromised also. Im still in shock Cricket did this to me. SMH
