I’ve been a customer with Ally for a few months now. The first month they allowed my car salesman to set me up for automatic payments that I did not ask for and then I was double charged. When I requested a refund they told me I would get it in 7 to 10 days and it took well over two months to have my money refund it . Every month after I have tried to make a payment online only to be told that they cannot take my payment at this time. Every time I call customer service I am given a person that barely speaks English and it is very hard for me to understand what they are saying. All I ever wanna do is make my payments on time and not be troublesome but the Internet will not allow me to. When I called customer service and tried to explain the problem to them all they tell me is I can make my payment by phone and be charged a four dollar fee. Every month they are getting an extra four dollars out of me that I should not have to pay all because they do not do maintenance to their website or listen to the concerns of the customer. They will shuffle you around from person to person with no results. This is the absolute worst company I have ever done business with I will soon be looking for another finance company to take over my loan as I cannot take this anymore

If you are the CO signer you have 0 rights but all the debt. Customer service gives you 1 800 BS phone numbers to non existent loss mitigation departments for a flooded out vehicle that you merely co signed for that's been a loss for over a year and in ditch lord knows where from a flood. But,, you can only pay to get them to stop harrassing you!!! When you get collection calls they and ask for. Account Access,, they don't allow you access to a database that is registered to the actual driver you co-signed for - absentee driver - dead vehicle - you keep payInc and paying, But Zero Rights with Zero Access and bi-Monthly trumped up Late Fees every other month. Such crooks and criminals! There needs to be a law that forces ALL OWNERS ACCESS TO ACCOUNT AT ALL TIMES!!

Zero stars. I had to select one in order to submit my review. My credit union mailed the payoff of my vehicle on 12/16/22, today is 1/17/23 and Ally is saying that they did not receive the check even though I have a copy of the check that clearly shows it has been cashed. Each time I speak with someone, I’m told they will investigate and provide me with a reference number. That reference number is not worth the paper I wrote it on because when I give them the number, they are still oblivious to what the number is referencing. Just like all of the other reviews, stay away from this company because something fraudulent is going on with them. I’m going to let the Credit Union lawyers handle this so they can find out where the funds are that was sent to them.

Customer service non existent. Hang up on you the minute they get a chance. I'm behind on payment and tried on SEVERAL occasions to work out payment plan to no avail. Car is disabled and spending all the cash I have to get it fixed. Oh and by the way, even if you do manage to talk to someone who doesn't hang up on you, they never enter the info on their data base and constantly harass you every chance they get. I can understand why they don't have any office's, they'd be full of angry clients. Threatening to repo unless I give them money right NOW. Going to have my mechanic put all the parts in the front seat and tell them to come and get it. In the future I'd rather siphon gas from a burning car than have to deal with them ever again

Ally Auto Financial I have been making principal payments to my auto loan thru Ally Auto, as I am paid up 4 months in advance on my payments. Their system will no longer allow me to enter my auto loan page. I can go in and open a checking account with them, and do anything else on their website, EXCEPT view my auto page to make payments. I did download the phone app, and there WAS an option to make a principal payment, but that disappeared after I used it once! I am directed to enter an amount, then submit payment, but again NO option as to where the $$$ should go ANYMORE. I have no access to my auto loan page on the web. I have tried all 3 main browsers, cleaned my cache, I work online, and know all things to do. I have called them 4 times, and all I got in reply "we will pass the ticket up, try in a few days." When I sign in to my auto loan page I can see 2009-Ally Financial Inc Feedback Ally Community Security Privacy Legal headers all on a gray page with a spinning wheel. I will leave it for hours and the page does not change. If I try after midnight I do get their System Update 12-3 am notice!! This all looks intentional to me!! Does anyone else have this issue?

Honestly i would leave no stars if i could. Ive had a loan through ally finincal for nearly 3 years and now that i am a single payment behind they are threatening to repo my car constatnly calling me and my wife during random times of the day on top of call my family members and old roommate that i havent talked to in years. Its illegal and harrasment. I cant wait to get away from them. I would pay my bill and it would show the money gone from my back but they wouldnt process it for another two weeks and flag my account as late. Its like they are trying to make your credit score worse so you cant get away from them i hope they go bankrupt.

Ally Auto has definitely been the worst banking experience I have ever had in my life. It had been a total nightmare. The customer service representatives do not know how to assist me and often transfer me to a random extension or just tell me they are not able to assist me. I happened to total my vehicle in the small window that I did not have insurance coverage because of this I am having to pay for everything out of pocket. Ally’s customer service informed me that there is no way Ally can help me because I did not have insurance at the time the accident occurred. All I was requesting was documents pertaining to my account like the payment history so that I could file a claim my self for my gap insurance and I was not able to get assistance with receiving documents at all. I was directed to the total loss department where they told me they could not help me either because I didn’t have insurance and they informed me that they were not able to lower my payments either or extend out my loan like many other banks offer. Point being Ally does not care at all about their customers or value customer service. I would not recommend them at all and I will refuse to ever have another loan with them in the future!!! Please tell your loan officer to find you another loan provider!

Ally Auto does not care about customers affected by Hurricane Ian!! I never comment on a company like this, but I’m absolutely outraged with this company…I was affected by Hurricane Ian and contacted them to let them know I needed to have a one-month extension…Just ONE month!! I was told that everything would be fine and there was no problem. ( My account is always in good standing) One week later I started receiving texts that I was late with my payment. I continuously called every number listed for Ally Auto and would go through all the steps to reach someone but as soon as I went through all the steps it would beep then hang up on me. Finally reach someone and then they said they had to put me on hold for a moment then…THEY HUNG UP AGAIN! Seriously called over 20 time within a week. (Have screenshots for proof) Then they called me since they said I had not paid my payment. The lady says they never made a note that my payment had been moved!! By this time, I already scheduled my next payment because again I only needed one month, and she told me that payment would be for the month I missed so I would still be behind and needed to pay more!! If not, I would continue to be behind which I NEVER have been before! I spent an hour on the phone with her while she was trying to work out how to fix the issue since a HURRICANE and a bad employee is not something that is my fault, and I cannot spend extra money during the holidays on a car payment! Why is it so hard to move a good customer’s payment to the end of their term? She could not get her supervisor so she promised me that they would call me back by the end of the day. I was very kind and the lady kept apologizing for the issue which obviously not her fault. I told her this has been beyond stressful so I was worried that I would still not get a call. She promised over and over that they care, they would work to move the payment, and I would receive a call back for sure….I did not get any call from anyone from Ally! I cannot believe that a company could literally lie to someone like this. Its absolutely disgusting and I would have never gone through ALLY if I had known…I still cannot get through…Shocking I know. BE WARNED THEY LIE AND DO NOT CARE!

I've been on the phone with Ally Auto for an hour and a half, being sent to their 3rd party on the phone payment then waiting for someone who can help give them my information 5-10min process, then she informs me my account was blocked. Oh, I'm being moved again; another 5 minutes of waiting to go through the information check. Then I ended the call because the audio was awful after being transferred numerous times. Finally, after several calls, I finally got a clear answer as to why my account was blocked, then he informs me that an account manager is already looking into my account, I got transferred to her, and her audio is already awful enough to hear, she tells me nothing, and she tells me to end the call. So overall I do not recommend getting an auto loan from them. 1/10

ALLY AUTO Is a big RIP OFF never use this company for GAP INSURANCRE!! In 2018 we purchased a vehicle with a 7 year auto loan which included GAP insurance with ALLY AUTO we paid off our car loan 3 years early. We Submitted a pay off letter to ALLY AUTO which handled out GAP INSURANCE and we requested a pro-rated refund. We received a letter stating we used up the cost of our GAP insurance because they pro-rate by USAGE not per month unlike other GAP insurance who pro-rate per month . BEWARE ALLY prorates per percentage which results in 100% of your coverage being used the first 2 years of your contract & with no money being returned if cancelled. God forbid you get an accident & you think you are covered you will NOT be covered after 2 years of coverage per the scale calculation they use.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! When buying GAP insurance make sure who you are signing with.. DO NOT get ALLY AUTO!!!!!! Again NEVER NEVER use ALLY AUTO FOR GAP... INSURANCE!!!!

Ally forced me to make a payment through money gram at Walmart , which I did. Apparently the lady at Walmart sent it to check free instead , and it took ally 2 weeks to notice. I called about 5 different times during the two weeks and was told 3 different supervisors would be in contact and I never received a thing. I called check free for a refund and they told me ally accepted the money but for some reason it didn’t post to my account even though the account number was correct. So I called ally and they told me I needed to go through Walmart for a refund when Walmart just told me ally needed to reject the payment. So ally completely accepted my payment, held it from my account, and are now threatening repossession after I made the payment in plenty of time. The lady on the phone said they could repo my car any day even though I’m literally waiting for them to refund the money. If you know what’s good for you please do not buy from ally. They scammed me out of my money and now they’re gonna scam me into paying late fees when I made the payment on time.

Hands down, the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I am 61 years old, I've dealt with scores of companies of my lifetime. In my opinion Ally financial is little more than a scam company. Blocking people out of their online payment, giving temporary sign-ins to get back in that don't work, repeatedly. Or ask for two years to get a statement, numerous times, they never complied. I finally had enough of ally, went to my back and attempt to pay off the loan. I asked them for her loan payoff statement, they told me they can't send it via mail, or email and had to fax it. For 3 months, this one on My bank never received anything from them. Trying to get in touch with them, is an exercise in futility.

I paid Ally Auto Finance $33,546.00 on 08/02/22. After hearing nothing from them in two weeks I called them. I was informed that they cancelled the check and when asked why they did not know. So it took me two weeks to get another check issued and too them. Then they cashed the check and marked my 2020 GMC Canyon as a Total Loss. They did this without even notifying me. So now I had to get a letter from my insurance company stating there have been no claims on the vehicle. Ally will not return my $1400.00 over payment nor a lien release until this issue has been resolved. All this because some idiot screwed up. They tell me it will take up to three weeks to process and correct the issue. I will never go through this institution again, ever. They are the worst financial institution that I’ve ever dealt with in the last 50 years. Next time I will go back to Capital One for a auto loan. I’ve had two loans from Capital One with Zero problems. I warn everyone out there, do not use Ally Auto Finance. You will regret it if you do.

They are HORRIBLE! Our loan was paid off on 7/3/2022 and we had over $2900 in cancellation that are supposed to be coming to us. We have spoke to them numerous times, including the first time to do our change of address, because we have moved. They told us that they have 55 days to return the refund. We are on day 72, still no refund. I spent 1 hour and 32 minutes on the phone with them yesterday and 4 different people ( whom I couldn’t understand) and to only get a reference number and to be told 7-10 more days. Oh yea, address never got changed. I will walk before I ever finance a vehicle through Ally again.

Ally’s automated service is the most irritating system I’ve ever had to deal with. The repeated saying “ all of our agents are busy pleases hold on the line “ gets very old when holding on the line for 20 mins. They must say the same thing over and over at least 60 times in 60 seconds. The online app is totally ridiculous. I changed my bank info way before my payment was due and now it’s like it never went through and I’m 11 days late . Trying to get someone on the line to talk to is impossible . What they don’t understand is some people don’t have the time or patience to wait 30-60 mins on hold. I’m now looking to refinance with another company.

Never missed a payment in 9 yrs. $1400 owed on last car (started at $11,000+). Car was stolen and recovered by Police who took it to impound lot. Insurance decided to fix car. Ally received 2 notices of impound from impound company. They decided note was not worth getting car out and wrote off the balance of note. We were still making payments yet my credit score went from 838 to 623. Never notified by Ally of what they were doing. Paid loan off but Ally refuses to fix the error on my credit report. Said I have to live with the score for 7 yrs. Do not have anything to do with Ally. They do not care about customer only getting money. Worst Bank ever!

If you can get any other finance company for your car, do it!! I WILL NOT EVER recommend Ally Financial to anyone!!! They have an overnight payoff address yet they re-route your payoff check to another address (10 days at least), another 10 days to clear your check, then at least 10 days to process your title. Over a month to receive a title. But they will sure hound you for your car payment. Every single person with customer service can barely speak english and they just repeat themselves. I won't be surprised if someone gets a lawsuit against these people. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE

I hate this company. You could not get any worse if you prayed to God to bless you with worse. I called this morning about a letter threatening to repo my car and I just kept getting hung up on. I have the app and sent them a message no reply. I’ve been trying to pay on my car note and they charged me $146 late fee in May. About $160 in June and a $177 late fee in July. They are no help and intentionally drowning you in debt. I pray they go out of business. They prey on the vulnerable and then make you out to be the bad guy. I’m leaving bad reviews everywhere I can! Beware! Run away! DO NOT GO WITH ALLY!

Wow after reading all of the horrible reviews at this point I don’t even think it matters what I write, maybe Sara will rescue me (who was mentioned in a past review) but I will still share my experience. If there was a 0 rating that would be my choice of a rating. I called in two weeks ago to get help on an extension due to the loss of a family member. I had to travel out of state and everyone knows right now gas and all other expenses are high. I was told to call back or wait on a letter with the status. I have been trying to reach Ally since, but they are closed each time I call. So today is Saturday, it’s been two weeks not sure what the status is. I get up early to catch them. I’m on the phone at 8am to be left on hold for 40 minutes by the rep. She came back on and says she will need to transfer me to another department. I shared my concern about being left on hold for so long and she stuttered an excuse of course. I get transferred to a rep who had very little English to repeat everything again to be transferred! I get on with the new rep not much English so I hung up I’m exhausted at this point! I called back I finally get an English speaking human that tells me to call back Monday to speak to the right department. Like couldn’t they have said that from jump? I am over it and did not realize how horrible of a company this is until I read all of the bad reviews. I definitely need to move around.

A sorry excuse of a company. They are liars, thieves, and will continue to send you around in circles without actually helping you. I hope I never have to talk to another member of this god forsaken bank again or have to even hear about this place. My APR was at 12% so you would think refinancing with a different bank would be easy. They made it the most difficult process ever. Months later I’m still rendering the consequences of using Ally. They are not your Ally. Do not trust them. Do not bank with them. I am so happy to be done with them and have settled for a 3% APR elsewhere. Screw this company and I hope they cease to exist.

My review will sound very familiar to anyone reading this. Please note I was not paid for my review, this is honest and true. I live in Pennsylvania and this is my horror story. On May 23, 2022 I went to the original dealership I leased my 2019 Jeep Cherokee from and asked what my options are, lease is coming to an end. The option chose was to do a buyout, my procovid buyout agreed amount was 15,000 + unpaid payments. The dealership is able to access all of this information. Total buyout was 18877.81 (15k + payments still due). I financed this amount through a financial institution plus paid PA sales tax. Today is 6/25/2022, Ally is now saying I owe 1000k plus late charges. The dealership has not received the title and Ally will not release the title until I pay this bogus amount they came up even after the agree upon buyout was satisfied. To me it appears Ally didn’t disperse or allocate the funds properly, I’m able to check my account online and see where the payment of 18877.81 posted but then this additional bogus amount. At this point, I’m not paying the $1000. They will hold the title indefinitely. End of story.

Do NOT, and I repeat, do NOT use this company for your auto loan. I paid my vehicle off early and 4 months later, I'm still trying to get my title! After waiting an appropriate amount of time I called inquiring about receiving my title. I was told I should receive it in 7-10 days. Life happened. Realized I had not received it and called again. After a very frustrating conversation with again someone outside of the United States, it was conveyed to me my account was on hold because it was flagged as being in bankruptcy, which it was NOT and had NEVER been!! I was told again my title was coming in 7-10 days. Called at day 7 (no title) asking to speak with someone in the US (the call had been routed to the Philippines this time...the 2 times before it sounded as though it was routed to India). I spoke with Lee, a supervisor (or so I was told) who wasn't able to tell me how my account had been messed up but stated it was being investigated and again said I'd have the title in 7-10 days. I felt with this being my 3rd time of being told the same story, I asked if it could be overnighted. Lee said the best he could do was 24-48 hrs since the title department had already closed. Guess what?! Still no title and now I'm waiting on the title department to call me back! This company stinks! DO NOT USE THEM.

I had a 75 month auto contract with ally which was suppose to end in December 2021. I started calling in November 2021 to find out why the calculator, the count down, and the number of payments on the dash board where all saying different things??? I told them my contract was for 75 months I should not still have 7 payments my contract should end next month. December 2021. They told me that I requested 2 deferments two in 2017 and again in 2020. I told them I have never requested a deferment. Even so I should have 5 payments not 7 and asked them to go over my payment history I have never missed a payment nor have a signed any documents requesting a deferment of my payments. I asked them to send me documentation showing I signed for a deferment. I have never received the documents and called 4 more times still no documents and still paying on a car that should have been paid off 6 months ago. I still can not get a straight answer to why I'm still paying on this car and still waiting on documents showing my deferment and payment history Customer service sucks!!! I feel like I'm being cheated with no one at the company trying to help me.

I explain that I'm afraid of my information being sent to another person because they were sending me someone else documents. This is a very big concern for me. Worst company ever. Won't allow you any options for military active duty to pause payments until you get paid or come back from not camp. Won't work with you at all. They contacted me 2 days after the payment was late enough to be over 30 days. So I was reported to the credit bureaus while my mom was making payments every month but they never informed her that there was 2 payments due and she spoke to them over the phone several times. Not a good company at all to have an auto loan with. I'm refinancing with my military resources now. Never trusting these people again. Wasted my money with them.

I have financed 3 vehicles with ally since 2016 owe $2k on my 2016 longhorn laramie 3500 and they referred it to a third part company NES I set up payment plan with the company make the first payment they send me the contract with ally agreeing them they repo my truck . I don’t understand the incompetence or logic . Hopefully after reading these reviews I even see my truck again . I have paid ally over $150,000 in the 3 vehicles financed I was shocked this wasn’t rectified sooner . I have always had an outstanding payment history on direct debit from my bank and never a problem . At minimal they could of modified payments during Covid just to help the remaining $2k balance . Truck is still worth $50k . This coMpany has acted untrustworthy in my eyes I have a job to go To in morning and no truck . Smh

The absolute worst bank. Ask before you lease/finance what bank it is is through, and if its with Ally look somewhere else. They purposely make it incredibly difficult to sell your leased car to someone else. For a dealer to buyout my car it is $10,000 more than if I buyout the car. no other reason to do that other than Ally's own financial benefit and incredibly detrimental to my efforts to sell the car. Then for them to process the buyout and send me the title can take 3-4 weeks even if I overnight the cashiers check to them. Terrible company that has purposely made it difficult for their own customers. NEVER USE ALLY! ASK THE DEALER WHO YOUR LOAN IS THROUGH BEFORE BUYING!

Ally is the worst company for customer support. if you ever actually get anyone on the phone they do not speak English and you always need to be transferred and then resubmit everything again. They imputed my payment incorrectly on their side as the check was for the correct amount and they cashed it for the correct amount. They admitted that they messed up and then corrected the dollar amount by taking it from one of my other accounts which then showed that account was underpaid. Again they received and cashed the correct amount of money but cant seem to understand how to apply it to the accounts correctly. Mean while they hit all 3 credit agenceys and dropped my credit score by over 100 points for each.

During the beginning of Covid we received an email of a deferred payment for 3 months offer, we accepted the terms and I later find out that they only entered 2 months and our payment showed late for the 3rd month. We had no idea and we’re made aware of this after 3 months when I received an email telling us that we had 3 months in a row of late payments. I explained about our email offer and they said they would correct it. It was never corrected and this was reported to our credit report. It has impacted our credit and unable to refinance because of there mistake. I would never recommend Ally to anyone.

Awful is an understatement, they received the pay off check for our old lease over a month ago and the statement says nothing is owed. Received a letter in the mail a few days ago saying we are two payments late, called and the customer service representative is saying the check was ‘reversed’, are you kidding? The money is out of our account and we received no notification. She saying it showed paid but reversed and she could not see the reason why but was on the phone with the ‘other department’ when I asked what that department was she ignored the questions and kept saying it was reversed and she couldn’t see why. I then was on hold for a transfer to a different department. The department could not be reached and when I again asked she said “this is collections and I am trying to connect you to auto” to which I replied this is auto because the number is listed on the website and all over the internet that this number is auto. She hesitated and stumbled on her words and then said “oh well, I’ll try and reconnect you”. I asked for the auto department number and she started talking about my account. I am still trying to reach someone who will help. Ally is a fraud.

Horrible!!! If you’re lucky enough to get someone on the phone, they have no idea of what’s going on! I had to call via 3 way along with my insurance agent to try and resolve the delay in completing the total loss process. If I could give 0 stars I would. It’s been a month and yet another payment is due on a total loss vehicle. If payment isn’t made it’ll certainly affect my credit score. Every time I call it’s a different lie about what’s needed. This has been the worst experience ever!!! Horrible Horrible! I asked to speak with a supervisor and the guy asked “why do you need to speak with a supervisor???” Did I say horrible?? Very poor service, they will pull your money out be sure of that but when it's time for them to pay you, forget it. I traded a vehicle in mid December and I had the extended warranty and GAP insurance. It's now going into March and they have yet to pay me. Today I spoke with them for the 10th time and instead of the GAP check being mailed two weeks ago like I was told last week it's not just being sent. Plus my warranty is still sitting there and the lady told me today it's going to be another two days before she can verify the check is going out this week. They owe me $2900 for a warranty check and $1300 for GAP and it's been like pulling teeth. Small people like myself mean nothing to large companies like this, very very poor service. I told the lady if it was the other way around you would just pull the money from my account immediately. So maybe by mid March I will have the warranty check.

This is the worst company ever , I had a person buy my loan out directly with ally , waited the grueling 10 days holding , i made several calls to these people and every person on the phone didn't speak clear English and don't know what they are talking about . i got multiple different answers from these people every time i called about the process on the title it took a total of 12 days to process everything and clear the funds , 20 days later after the title and lien was released the funds got returned to the person who paid it after he already took possession of the car, ally specifically told me multiple times after i called that once the lien and title is released that this buyer cannot get a refund , which later on turned out to be a massive lie , because now i have ally calling me demanding i pay them the over due balance , later down the road I finally discovered the person who paid for this was using a stolen bank account and I was a victim of theft and fraud , but ally does not care they say the same crap over and over " im sorry for the inconvenience " why should i be held liable for this do i not have any protections over this ? ally doesn't give a crap about anyone they only care about money and they will run you into the ground over it too , STAY AWAY FROM THEM

Ally has the absolute worst online customer service. They nickel/dime you every chance they get! They're dishonest about how much you owe. When covid first happened like most I was hit financially. I needed help with my payments. Ally refused to help! One person actually said "that's strange we didn't offer help. We help everyone" . They finally took my car. Only after I made a complaint to the state they decide the next time I needed help to help. What they didn't tell me was they were going to add another$4000 to my account. I keep trying to get help and assistance from them but even paying my bill but I get no help. I get nasty customer service. And I don't get any help. Just stay away from these criminals. They will lie cheat and steal. And the watch dog consumer agencies won't help.

I will absolutely never use them again we have one payment left on our vehicle & both my husband & I came down with Covid he is still in the hospital & I received multiple calls from Ally asking for the payment now grant it I just made a payment at the beginning of the month. Now they are telling me that they are going to repo our vehicle when we only owe $900 with the fees & we have paid off over $28,000 on this vehicle in my mind I own more of the vehicle than they do. I guess they are showing their true colors as to how their customers matter to them no compassion at all just I need a date that you are going to pay not a how is your husband doing or a I’m sorry. Guess what what goes around comes around & one day you will need your customers to care & this one will not I really wish they would shut this place down!

I have 2 cars financed with Ally Auto . First of all , it would be nice to get someone on phone that actually spoke English clearly . I recently checked my credit scores and obviously , they have placed my account past due for the past year . All payments were made on time . The problem was that on several payments I paid a few days early . If I had the payment early I would submit it . Apparently , they applied both payments to the same month making my account 30 days late for one year . I have called several times to straighten out the mistake and was told they would not fix the issue . I requested that a manger call back , never happened . Once my accounts are paid off I will never do business with them again .

Absolute garbage service. Am trying to sell my (leased) car due to financial difficulties. Went to a dealership to sell and Ally upcharged the dealership buyout by over $10k, more than the car was bought for new. Refinanced on my own with another bank to buyout the lease, and took several weeks and many calls to get the official buyout letter from Ally. Now the lease is FULLY PAID OFF, and they are now stonewalling me on the title. Where is the title? They won't tell me. They won't send me the title to the car that I now own. If I don't get that title before the end of the year I stand to lose a lot more money. I've never missed a payment or had a late payment, and the level of service has been absolutely trash. Please, if a dealership tries to push you into a deal with Ally, for the love of God walk out and find another dealership.

I wish that I could choose 0 stars. I have NEVER experienced anything as ridiculous as I have working with Ally auto. I have leased a car with them for 3 years - never missing a payment. I am trying to buyout my car. I sent the buyout check OVER a month ago. I have reached out countless times checking on the status of the check. They assured me MULTIPLE times that I would receive my package to sign within 2 days. Now, over a month later... they are saying my cashiers check is not valid even though my name is on it. I have tried to call them multiple times and have received no answer. I cannot believe that this company gets away with being so horrible. They are withholding thousands of dollars from me. DO NOT work with Ally Auto. Pick any other company!!!!!

I was double charged last month and they refused to refund me. The agent on the phone was unprofessional, and more concerned about getting back to her personal time. This error on Ally's part was due to them stating I had not payed my bill, In which is on Autopay. I checked with the site several times looking for why i had not been charged my auto draft yet, it showed no auto draft set up. To which I know I Infact had set it up. There appears to be a glitch in the website so I just set up a manual payment. Within a couple days I was double charged and now the auto draft appeared to be in effect. I called customer service to talk to an actual person in obvious hopes of a solution, only to be met with a highly unprofessional woman.Due to the lack of rectification on their end it caused me to miss my auto insurance payment, in turn got me canceled. I had to pay additional fees to reinstate, in addition to taking away from my children's birthday. This isn't the first or even the second bad experience with this company. I highly recommend going with another agency. I still have not received my refund either. Im flabbergasted this is how Ally runs their company. You'd think for a long time customer who makes their payments consecutively every month they'd put a bit more effort in a solution in a timely manner as well their professionalism.

Horrible service all together and minimal support when contacting support. I am currently on day 55 of waiting for my payoff amount difference to be sent to me via mail. They just only now realized it was never sent out and have zero answers as to why it never was sent. Again, this took myself and a car sales manager to reverse engineer their side of things to track it. We literally did their job for them and then some… the most help I ever received was from 6 different reps not knowing the policy and attempting to string together the same talk track they ALL should be on the same page for. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE ALLY AUTO, good or bad credit. Don’t mess with their service. 8% APR on decent credit, never missed a payment, often over paid and then some. YET THEY CAN AND WILL BEND YOU OVER WHEN POSSIBLE

Should have a "0" Star rating. If anyone that is leasing a vehicle do not use ALLY unless you like to have many customer service reps tell you one thing, others another, document on web site another and so on. I have never been given more inaccurate information by representatives from same company in my many years of dealing with people. In a nut shell: Decided to trade in at a dealer ship not associated with ALLY. My buyout was 20,000. They were given a buyout of 42,000... more than the car was new. Called dealer where I leased it from, they said only option is to turn in there. Car had low mileage, called Carvana, offered me 29,000. Decided to buy it out myself then re-sell to Carvana. 6 Weeks later still no title, they have had money for a month.. many calls. Website says, send certified or bank check and would have within 10 days. I sent next day UPS.. waste of money but at least I had tracking information.. 4 weeks in a requested a supervisor.. just gets worst.. Hopefully this will be past me.. but the sour taste will never go away..

This is by far the worst experience ive had dealing with any organization. During covid i lost my job and needed a 2 month deferment/extension to get back on my feet. I spoke with a representative who had me pay a fee of $364 for the service (makes sense) a month later my credit is dropped for a “late payment” and come to find out the payment was put towards the loan and not the deferment and there is no record on my profile of a deferment, matter of fact there are no notes on my profile at all. So i call again to figure out what was going on and the representative says that I called and canceled my deferment. From then i knew there wss something sketchy about Ally because i didnt have a job, why would i pay for a service, and cancel it given my situation. Again there was no call log or profile notes concerning my cancellation other than the notification, of which did not come from any action i took. A manager spoke to me and i explained to her the situation and we settled on a courtesy request to allow me to get the deferment i had previously paid for, and i was to hear back within 2 days. That was sept 30th and since then i have heard nothing back from anyone but collections despite my calls every 2 or so days to speak to a manager concerning my courtesy request, of which was scrubbed from my profile notes because there were days reps and managers could see the unread request up until last week, and now there is no record of any deferment requests at all other than my “cancellation”. Regardless ally got another payment out of us that we requested, were eligible for, and specifically paid for over the phone. I will never return to ally auto, neither will my family, customers, nor the people i reference. Sad part is i know im not the only one.

This is the worst possible bank to do any type of business with! Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with, they don’t do a single thing for their customers, to HELP their customers. This bank not only had my vehicle towed at 3 am from my own driveway but then they told me in order to release my car I had to pay a little over $1100 to get my car back and not only did I do that, I paid over $7000 to pay the entire vehicle off instead and they still sent my car to auction and still have the $7000 I paid to have my car back! This company is a disgrace, including the actual people who work there. I have spoken to many representatives here with my frustration levels being over the top and sure, there’s a certain way of handling difficult customers like myself at the time but the way they handled themselves was certainly not the proper way and I made that very clear to each and every one of them! I’m currently on hold with them now for 40 minutes just to get a supervisor on the line, apparently my representative here can’t find a single supervisor in the whole building they are working in to take my call… I will personally make this supervisor hop in his car and drive the 3 hour distance they drove my car to, to pick it back up and bring it to my house because this is ridiculous, I’m not paying these people another single dime!

This is the worst company ever. During this terrible time of a pandemic, they have NO compassion or understanding of what their customers are going through. Many have not been able to get employment and ask for just a little help from them. They turn their backs of down and out customers who in the past did everything they could to make their payments on time. We are in a pandemic and you would think they would be more understanding and offer their customers some help. They DO NOT! They, instead, offer no help or solution to struggling customers. They refuse to offer any help and report them to the credit union, making matters even worse. Given another opportunity, I would NEVER do business with Ally Financial again. I asked them if I could defer a couple of payments until I was able to catch up. They refused to help me. People are struggling during this pandemic and they don't care.

I’m on my second loan with Ally. I’ve never been late on a payment. My home was just impacted by Hurricane Ida to point I can’t return to it. I’ve lost most of what I own. I’m trying to relocate near family right now so I called to have a couple payments deferred. My car is everything right now. I can’t lose my car and I can’t take a hit to my credit for no reason. They denied my deferment due to it being a fairly new loan. I would understand in most situations, but I’ve literally lost everything and I’m only asking for a couple months Deferred while I deal with the emotional and financial trauma brought on by a natural disaster. Customer service told me they can’t help. They were sorry about my situation, but I have 10 days to make a payment before it’s reported to my credit. I asked to speak to a supervisor and , after being given the run around for 30 minutes, I was put on hold for 1 1/2 hours until I finally hung up. Their answer is to ignore a customer until they hang up. A company this big can’t DEFER a couple payments to help me in a time like this?

I've been with ally auto since 2018 and just now once I've paid off the amount there comes the trouble. The department who handles the credit reporting does not have the phn number. I can't get hold of them, it's been 2 months and it still haven't reflected on my credit history, I've talked with representative for more then 7-8 times.. They are nice and polite will do their best to help, but they are also restricted on things they can do. I don't own them any amount now but it still says my account is active on credit report. For other people who are looking forward to use ally I' would find other options. At the end Ally will make you helpless and all you can do is wait. I've already called the Trans union and dispute the transaction. hoping for the best. F**k ally Financial, I will never ever work with them. they made me feel helpless at the end.

I've had three cars financed through Ally and all three experiences were good. They are pleasant to work with and helpful if you encounter a few bumps in your road to paying down your loan.

You guys have THE WORST customer service. The worst I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. I keep getting the run around with your customer service team, no one has the same answers and Im tired of playing this game. I’m a really easy going guy, but geez I want to be a Karen so bad. If you guys had a physical address I’d be in the building right now. Can’t even get a simple release of lien letter. I can’t even begin to understand why it would take 30 days to FAX me a release letter. Why? Because your company is ran by idiots. The first 10 people (I called a different person everyday) said 7-10 days. I waited 7-10 days. Then I call back they have 3 different people tell me 1-2 days. I wait. Now someone today tells me 30 days. What’s the answer? Why can’t I get something faxed? Why is that not instant? Just ridiculous and unprofessional.

(For Ally Auto): 1. Weeks have passed and a supervisor will not call back. 2. Online system does not allow secure messages to be sent. 3. I hear different things from every department. SCRA says my issue is "being handled." A different department says "it's being looked into." 4. All email addresses given to this point to resolve issues have been invalid. 5. Company was unable to manually take payment or change the amount of autopay. 6. Took approximately 4 months just to get my SCRA benefits as their system would not accept my active duty orders. 7. Due to their online system not taking the correct payment amount, I was only left to cancel my autopay to pay my correct amount manually. 8. After paying correct amount manually I was unable to set up autopay as system said "no payment is currently due." 9. This resulted in a late payment while on deployment and not having internet access. 10. Doubtful the company will remedy the situation based on previous experience.

I leased my car through Ally and was planning on doing a lease buy out. I’ve stated that multiple times talking to people. I was out of town when my car was repossessed even though payments were all caught up and they did not bother to send me written or verbal notice. Now for 7 days straight I have been relentless in trying to get a hold of ANYONE at Ally via phone and email that can give me any information about not only where is my vehicle but how do I get my vehicle back and how to do a lease buy out. I’ve tried calling every single department possible and I keep getting transferred to different departments until someone eventually disconnects or hangs up on me because no knows the answer to my very basic questions. There has to be someone in charge of my account and there has to be a way to get a hold of this person. It feel like I have a better shot of getting a hold of the wizard of oz. it has been a week now that I do not have a vehicle to get back and forth from work or transport my son to school or the hospital god forbid he has an allergy attack. No one has gotten back to my emails and I’ve sent one to every email on the website and it has been a week, no response. This is unacceptable and down right outrageous to do to people in a time like this when we’re all just trying to hold onto our jobs through a pandemic.
