The Good

  • Easy Profile Set Up
  • Match and Search Features
  • Dating Insights and Advice
  • Zoosk Couples

Easy Profile Set Up

Signing up for Zoosk doesn't take quite as long as some other online dating sites with in-depth personality questionnaires, like eHarmony, EliteSingles, and Match.com. Either an email address or a Facebook account is required to register online. If you sign up with Facebook, you can easily upload a profile picture from your account. You can create a Zoosk profile in about 10 minutes (depending on how much information you give).

The site asks for basic information such as height, gender, body type, children, education, religion, a few pictures, and other information to help members get better matches. There’s an option to add a 1,500 character story to your profile. You can also describe your perfect match or ideal date in 1,500 characters each.

Each Zoosk member can input their interests and go into detail on what their ideal date would be. Each user has the option to verify their Zoosk profile with their social media, either a Twitter or Facebook account. You can also use photo verification or verify your account with a cell phone number. This helps to improve  your reputation on Zoosk.

The Zoosk mobile app also makes it easy to update any information and find potential matches. The dating app is available to download Zoosk in the app store for iOS devices Android devices.

Match and Search Features

Zoosk gives you plenty of options for interacting and matching with other users. Unlike many dating websites that it competes with, Zoosk's dating platform lets a person experience both major types of online dating in one service: scientific matchmaking based on an algorithm and location pairing for nearby matches. Zoosk members can also connect by searching for profiles using advanced filters, chatting with users online, and sorting profiles on carousel.

Scientific Matching

Zoosk has a premium feature called SmartPick, which evaluates your compatibility with other Zooskers. It uses Behavioral Matchmaking technology to learn from which profiles you like or pass on to streamline your match suggestions in the future. It also offers a survey to help you get more compatible matches. You will find your match suggestions in the SmartPick feature.

Location Pairing

This section lets users search through local singles, with lots of search filter options, including a geo radius of 3 to 100 miles. You can even save search parameters for easy access later.

Filtered Searches

Users can search for matches with Zoosk’s advanced filters. Narrow down your search by height, gender, body type, children, smoking habits, education, religion. If you find a potential match, let them know you are interested by sending them a like, smile, or message.

Real-Time Interactions

The “Online Now” feature allows you to chat with other users who are currently on the app. You don’t have to wait and wonder if someone will log back on and view your message. With the “Online Now” feature, you know you are connecting with an active user.

Carousel Sorting

The carousel feature is similar to the Tinder matching system. Users quickly determine their interest in another Zoosk member based on condensed profiles. You can select yes, no, or maybe on each profile. If you both get a mutual yes, you can start messaging one another. This is also one of the features that helps determine the SmartPick matches.

Dating Insights and Advice

Zoosk's blog is filled with hundreds of articles about online dating. Members can read through the articles to get dating advice, learn how to stay safe while online dating, learn how to send and respond to messages, and find the latest dating studies. There are even articles about marriage and ways to make a long-term relationship last.

Zoosk Couples

Zoosk has an entire success story page showing off the men and women who have used Zoosk and found love. The site shares the stories of couples who are currently in a long-term, serious relationship, married, or happily in love because of Zoosk.

While this isn't a dealbreaker for whether people should sign up for the site, it is nice to see couples who have braved the online dating world and found love.

The Bad

  • Consumer Complaints
  • Limited Virtual Dating Options
  • Pay to Message, Chat, and Use Other Features
  • Coin Costs and Limitations
  • Automatic Renewal
  • No Refunds
  • Does Not Attempt to Verify Information
  • No Customer Support Hotline

Consumer Complaints

Out of more than 80 BestCompany reviews collected, the average Zoosk review rating is less than 1.5 stars out of five.

What are the biggest complaints that people have about this online dating service and app?

  • Fake profile issues — Many people feel that Zoosk is littered with fake profiles and online scammers.
  • User experience — The dating site is mentioned several times as overly difficult to navigate.
  • Customer service — Several reviews report that Zoosk customer support is subpar at best.
  • Bait and switch messages — Many report that the platform is regularly sending bogus messages to get non-paying Zoosk free members to sign up for a paid membership.

Additional common complaints include how difficult it is to delete your Zoosk account or cancel a premium membership and the excessive push for basic account members to make in-app purchases.

Limited Virtual Dating Options

Zoosk does not partner with a video chat service. Competing online dating sites have a feature that allows you to set up a virtual date. This is a disadvantage for long-distance relationships or socially distanced dates.

Pay to Message, Chat, and Use Other Features

Customers looking to sign up for a Zoosk subscription can pay per month or choose between three-month or six-month subscription options. You will also need to pay an additional one-time activation fee when you upgrade to a paid Zoosk membership.

Online daters will have to sign up for one of Zoosk's monthly subscriptions to message, chat, see who's viewed them, and see Connections from SmartPick and Carousel.

While free members can see full profiles of other members in Online Now and Search, there isn't much more that you can do on Zoosk for free. The Zoosk free trial is merely for those looking to see how the site works and if it's right for them.

If you want to message anyone on the Zoosk app, you will need to become a premium member.

Coin Costs and Limitations

Like most online dating platforms, Zoosk offers subscription plans and online currency purchases. Zoosk cost is comparable to other online paid dating platforms.

Coins can be purchased by both free members and paid subscribers. Zoosk coins can be used for a variety of features on the platform, including the following:

  • Boost — Zoosk highlights your dating profile in search results, inbox messages, and other users' Carousel.
  • Unlock Carousel Matches — Unlock another member's profile, suggested to connect with users that have expressed interest in you.
  • Buy Virtual Gifts — To show interest in another person and differentiate yourself from the crowd, you can use 10 to 100 coins to buy them a virtual gift. Gifts are basically cute little graphics of things like hearts, a gem, lips, a cupcake, a bouquet of flowers, and more.
  • Delivery Confirmations (for paid subscribers only) — Also known in the dating app world as “read receipts,” this option will let you know when another person has opened your chat message
  • Go Invisible — Pay to browse and view member profiles for 30 minutes without being shown in their Views list

Coins can't be used to chat, send, or read messages. You still have to be a paid subscriber to access messaging and chat features. While the coin feature provides users with unique upgrade options, this style of payment can end up adding a lot of frustration on the user side. Even after you upgrade, you will receive notifications to buy coins which could end up costing you a lot more than you originally budgeted.

Automatic Renewal

Zoosk members should know that subscriptions will automatically renew unless the account is canceled before the end of the premium subscription term. This is typical of an online dating subscription but can catch users off guard if they are not anticipating the charge.

No Refunds

In its Terms of Service, this dating website mentions that all charges are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for any partially used Paid Services (including partially used subscription periods) and Zoosk coin balances.

Does Not Attempt to Verify Information

While users have a slew of Verification options to list their profile as verified, they should also be aware that Zoosk currently does not routinely screen registered users, inquire into the background of its users, attempt to verify information provided by its users or conduct criminal screenings of its users.

This isn't unique. It's pretty common in the online dating industry.

No Customer Support Hotline

If you need help with something, there are only a few options outside of help articles and video tutorials. You can contact customer support through an on-site email form. A customer service hotline is not offered on-site. Additionally, live chat is not a contact option on this platform.

The Bottom Line

People looking for a generic dating site with plenty of users can consider Zoosk as an option. Zoosk is a recognized name, and there are quite a few people who have found success using the site. Setting up a profile is easy and there are some good blog posts on how to navigate the world of online dating.

However, a significant number of consumer reviews reveal some issues with the service that daters might find troublesome. Many customers have a problem with the fact that the site only allows those with paid memberships to use any features. Other online dating sites usually have one or two free features for non-paying members, but Zoosk pretty much requires members to pay to message, chat, or anything else. Once purchasing a subscription, many members felt that it wasn't worth their time and money, as they thought there was a substantial number of scammers and fake profiles.

Overall, we recommend online daters find out more about Zoosk before signing up for a paid subscription and scroll down to read online reviews.

The following is based on fact, my experience and my opinions. Zoosk uses, and had used in the past, expired profiles of attractive people as an inducement to get you tobpsy for membership. They like repeatedly and refuse to all is too willing members to exchange phone numbers that could result in a date. They no longer have live customer support. They allow women to violate their photo posting guidelines, but remove photos from men that are theirs. In short, they discriminate against men and all is women to post 20+ year old photos along side other women, put will remove a single photo from a man's account saying it didn't fit y he very same guidelines they women break. Zoosk employs unscrupulous and discriminatory acts against men like me. Perhaps I am not white enough to bed in this site. I will file state §FS784.048(1) charges against them, oh cause same to bed filed. I have copied over a dozen profiles that are in clear violation of their polices. Zoosk is also in NY opinion violating my Civil rights under Title 7 of Federal code: 1964 Civil Rights Act. My personal experience tells me to pursue this so others don't have to suffer the same fate. In short, I would not recommend Zoosk and their horrible treatment to anyone. I have proof and intend to produce it if discovery becomes an applicable issue. They also send out heart icons to members w/o your consent. They say then person wants to speak or write to you when they don't. I hope the state and federal authorities investigate this company asap.

So far, it seems most profiles are either fake or ancient. The "algorithm" only suggests men significantly older than I and farther than what would seem reasonable for dating, let alone trying to develop something serious. Lots of losers looking to just bed as many people as possible. Frequent occurrences.... being called "baby" right outta the gate, giving their phone number almost immediately, saying "I'm different" or "I'm looking for my best " 100 times. Weirdoes, desperate whiners and FAKE accounts galore! I only paid $44 for 3 months and I WON'T be renewing! Their customer service is pathetic! I asked a simple question about canceling my subscription now, t avoid auto renew and still having access for the time I purchased and the response was this ridiculously long, cut'n paste with advice on how to answer unwanted attention, when "yes" would've sufficed. What a waste of money!!!

I'd like to get something out of the way first, I don't generally put money into a dating app until I feel like it isn't one giant red flag. Needless to say Zoosk didn't get my money. This website is as predatory as Kik due to lack of account verification. Long story short: a little over a year ago I decided to give this a go and came across a profile featuring one of my friends' 15 year old sister. She used the same exact photos from her Facebook profile, one of which had a middle school certificate dated the exact same year in the background. Of course I brought this to her parents attention as soon as I came across it and I got their permission to go ahead and screen capture her Facebook profile photos as well as her date of birth in order to email them to the company. So here's the catch: their motto is "we leave it up to the consumer" when it comes down to reporting anything sketchy. In other words, "we can't be bothered and good luck communicating your concerns to a bot." To further add fuel to the fire, she admitted to doing this on Skout and meetme as well. When these profiles were reported by her parents, they were down within 48 hours. Zoosk kept this profile up for over 2 months. The three of us (her parents and I) harassed the hell out of the company via email until they finally took action. So this is quite literally a dating site where anybody can put up anything regardless of the consequences. The company couldn't give a crap less and I would advise for you to swim in a pool of molasses before ever recommending this "service" to anybody. Worst enemies included. You're honestly better trying to pick up somebody at a bar.

Zoosk is by far the worst dating site. In my case, they wouldn’t do anything to help me sign back in when I was inexplicably locked out by their system after pausing my account briefly. They told me they were unable to email me with necessary information, although they continued to email me regarding other matters. I purchased a three month membership but was only able to use it for about two weeks. And they refused to reimburse me! Their customer service reps are obviously located in some third world country where English is limited. Don’t bother with zoosk. They also fake “views” from other members. Just awful.

This is the worst site I have ever seen and can only be called a scam. Probably less than one in ten profiles are active and belong to real people. The rest are either fakes or abandoned. I found evidence of one profile on the list that was 8 years old. The fakes can be easy to pick - the generic name of "a zoosk member" with a single photo, no story, and about 6 lines of basic info which vary little from one to the next. The views list is obviously system generated and does not reflect real views - I have had views from "dead" profiles. So far no one has sent me a message and from 50 messages sent, only about 10 reads and 5 replies. The replies were all instant rejects, with no further communication. The only ongoing contact I had was to a suspected scammer - they broke off once they realised I was on to them. I sent several messages to the help line, none were answered properly, and when I suggested I would cancel my subscription unless they lifted their game a bit, they did it for me. Still active for about the next 10 days but not expecting anything. Don't waste your money - all I got was a lot of stress and disappointment and a lot of wasted time. Rob

For over a week now, something is WRONG. I'm still receiving emails, from Zoosk (supposedly notifiying me of people interested/messages), BUT, when I click on any link to go there, a "Zoosk" window pops up with NOTHING but the word, "Gone"...??? It's been like this for about a week! NOTHING else on the page, No error message. I've checked several other websites, to see if it is Zoosk having the problem, and NOTHING is posted about it. I have cleared cookies/cache, everything I can think of, still the SAME STRANGE behavior. NO way to get an explanation! I am HAPPY I am NOT PAYING!! I'm STILL receiving emails, even though I've marked them as SPAM, being reported. Something is NOT RIGHT, SUSPICIOUS!

If only you could give negative stars my rating would be zero or less. The first day on a gal hit me up, played cute for a few days. Wouldn't connect on the phone. Said shed been in a recent accident and her voice didn't sound as nice as it should and that she was waiting for surgery to correct it... They don't even attempt to lie good. After axing that connection I got tons of "she likes you" messages. I would reach out to these gals, sometimes 10-15-20 time with never a response. It didn't take too long to figure out this whole thing was a scam. They would send me "matches" that were not even within my age or type guidelines. Yes, there were a few gals that I had decent correspondence with. I went out on a few dates. (a couple of them I should have passed on). Overall. terrible experience. And I'm a good looking guy, recently widowed with a lot to offer in so many ways..... Bottom line, if you have nothing but time on your hands, don't waste it on zoosk.

If I could put a zero I would! Zoosk is becoming the next POF except Zoosk makes you pay for bogus profiles! There are so many fake profiles on Zoosk it isn't funny. I warned them twice about all the bogus profiles and they haven't done a thing! As a matter of fact it has got much worse. I have cancelled my subscription and will never use this crappy site again. With POF at least I know what I'm getting but I don't care because I'm not paying for it! This site is not all that it is cracked up to be. 20 year old women claiming to be 60. It's all a scam, you want to pay for junk you will get it on this site!!!!

I've had nothing but terrible experiences with this site. I'd get an email alert that a woman was interested and after sorting through those I didn't feel connected to or wasn't attracted to there was a slight few I reached out to. Now I'm not a bad looking guy and never had trouble meeting women before I moved to Texas but Zoosk has totally turned me off to online dating. One minute I'm engaging with a woman with multiple texts and then next moment she's gone. Some it seems that English is not their first language which would be ok if the picture fit the texts, they don't. Case in point I'm having a nice conversation with a woman who lives 9 miles away. She tells me she's a Herbalife salesperson (red flag). She asks me what I do for work and I told her I'd be happy to discuss it should we ever meet. She writes back "I'm not on here to communicate the whole day or time on here?" What??? This is just one of the wonderful experiences I've had on here.

I made new profile a week ago. I've messaged probably about 20 women. No response. The only couple likes I got where from two women who I'm not even slightly attracted too. Im not ugly and I don't act Inappropriate on there so why is this happening. It's a waste of money. These dating sites don't favor men at all. I've been trying to find a serious relationship on here because I don't get out much with my work schedule. I swear this site is rigged. Out of all the women I liked and messaged no luck. I'm extremely disappointed and angry. Also to top things off I can't delete my profile from my phone I'm supposed to find a desktop to delete it. That is complete bogus.

July 2022. Signed up for a 3 mos subscription to Zoosk. Catfished with the first person. Took me on an emotional roller coaster for a month. Couldn't meet because he had to fly out of town to sign a big contract. Then had to go overseas to problem solve a leaking gas pipe in Saudi Arabia. Sent me pdf of 4M contract. Then there was a medical emergency and he had overextended his cash. Asked me for a $7K loan. That's where I called BS. The rest of profiles were all phonies or men I was not interested in, many wanted to communicate off site immediately. I met one decent person after spending 2 mos on this site. Decided not to waste any more time or energy. When canceling and deactivating, remove all your pics and paragraphs first, then deactivate and cancel subscription. Make sure to follow google search on how to deactivate/cancel Zoosk account. BE SURE TO EDUCATE YOURSELF ON ROMANCE SCAMMING!!

Zoosk's Smartpick feature picks scam artists for you, along with men who seem to deviant sexual proclivities, like enjoying young girls or beastiality. I emailed them several times asking for a refund and they just canceled my subscription after my paid for six months was up. I'm not allowed to see men younger than myself or within 20 miles which is what I've set it for. I get to see old men up to 70 from hundreds of miles away. This site is worthless and impossible to navigate. You can't remove creepy men except by going through the blocking process which isn't easy. You don't get any communication back from this company. There are hardly any men in my area on this site but they still kept my money. This site is even worse than their partners Meetme and Skout, which at least don't charge you to talk to scam artists from foreign countries trying to scam us foolish women out of our money. If they charge they could at least use an algorithm to remove the scammers.

1st time for me on a dating site. Easy enough to use. I bought the premium use. I am a female widow. I guess I'm fairly good looking, and an average 140 lbs. Very few males within 35 miles of my home on this site. I left a message for the first guy that I thought was a fairly good looking character, but he never responded. The 2nd guy that I communicated with was supposed to meet me at a park for a lunch that I made, and he never showed up. He removed his profile soon after. The 3rd guy that I connected with was a disaster. His profile pics were incredibly good looking. I fell hook, line, and sinker. The scammer warnings started showing up. He lived 3 hours away. When I tried to explain that the distance was too great, he talked me into giving it a try. Well, after a month of excuses from him about a heavy work load and a huge upcoming contract, I never got to meet him in person. We talked on the phone daily, and texted/emailed regularly. He paid me many compliments and promised me the world. Well, at the end he supposedly won a 4 million dollar oil rig contract in Abu Dhabi. Several days into his petroleum work, wouldn't you know the his equipment broke down, and he begged me to loan him $17,000 to fix it (after all, he would lose out on the $4 million !). I wised up quickly! Ladies, if it seems too good to be true, it is. Tighten up your purse strings no matter how good looking they are. FYI, he was supposedly a petroleum engineer. He had horrible English and terrible grammar. He talked me into moving to email and texting rather than communicate through the dating site. Yep, he broke my heart, but at least I was smart enough to keep my wallet closed.

I would go as far as to question whether Zoosk itself is involved with putting fake profiles on it's own site. Somehow then people who are scammers are making money, I just haven't figured it all out yet. Usually, only about 5% out of 100 people in a carasol will be physically fit and looks like they take care of themselves. No offense so you pick from the 5% and I feel like they are put there to keep you interested. Eye candy, but they are where i find the scammers, they come on very nice, complimentary, and they seem to good to be true, romantic too soon, ask you too many ?s and don't respond to yours. Then they want your phone number because they hate being on the dating site and they are a one woman man so they want to get off it altogether. The first one got my number from me and he was the last. I have run into at least 3 now and have learned my lesson. The last one asked for my number and I told him I had to get going so he should leave his number so I could call him later. He was a nice one too...hated to tell him he was a fraud when he didn't respond. I just left him a final message. Oh well, if it seems to good to be true or they ask for your number too soon or are not forthcoming, don't give any personal info.

There are plenty of fake profiles, need to use common sense if there one picture and no profile probably stay away. I got tons of messages and when i responded i got no response. i had one profile who i reviewed and she reviewed me multiple times so i ended being financial premium member so when i sent her a message i got a message she was not a ZOOSK member PARADOX!!! but the profile still was being sent saying she has review my profile and was a active member (green circle) i ended block her. i did contact ZOOSK and they did extend my subscription for a week. I won't be review, but there are some ladies i chatted too, but i was keen on them.

My feeling is Terrible, terrible Spammy feeling, catfish central mixed with strange looking creatures and people who like you but then never respond to your messages, girls with phone numbers written on their foreheads lol. Great looking women messaging you from a town nearly nobody lives in outside of Barstow wtf. Asian models who try to get you to go message on other apps, the same one over and over with different profile descriptions. People you like that never even glance at your profile. IDK my opinion would be SERIOUSLY don't waste your money and tons of your time and energy here very good chance you wont feel better about yourself after using it.

Listen to this ⚠️ - Zoosk is a Haven for Scammers, and Catfish. I'm a disabled veteran, and very educated I have had the worst experience in my whole life. I have never had a worse time dating ever. Before the internet I had zero trouble dating. I'm not a bad looking dude, and could pickup a date when ever I wanted to. Example I'm 6' 260 Blue eyes, and Italian, Latino, European mix. Here's the thing, I have messaged 1k people on zoosk, no real people. Profiles disappear, they want you to go off site, and everyone of them seem to disappear if you call them out. Customer service doesn't care, it's hard to cancel. As a veteran I feel taken advantage of by this site. This company needs to be shutdown for being a Scammer site. Please be kind to yourself, and go to a better site. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against these people, and there practices. Good luck

Total waste of time, frustrating to the bone, all fake members and fake photos, they all ask for cell or email to chat and exchange photos (I guess to get people photos and emails and use for fake ads for men). All state they live in a city in California, then all of them are out of state for a visit or whatever silly excuse. all numbers they use for texting are other states area codes and they vanish or disconnected the moment you reveal to them that you feel they are scam. I never got them to actually try to scam me, cause I always stopped in the beginning knowing this can not be a real woman with any feelings. ZOOSK is just bad business to collect money from people. Should be closed down for complete fake website. It indeed should be a class act.

I would strongly advise not subscribing to the Zoosk dating website. Among other things, my criteria for a match specified that the match be no more than 50 miles away and a non-smoker. My smartpicks were often more than 70 miles away and some would be smokers. I would get notifications from matches that said "She wants to meet you" from women who were a 100 plus miles away. In addition to that, these women had never shown up on my list of women who had viewed my profile. So the question is "How can they make that claim when they didn't even view my profile?" Another irritating "feature" of this site is that you have to buy coins to see if someone has read the message that you've sent. In my opinion, when you pay for the use of a dating website, one shouldn't have to pay for that feature. Furthermore, I was unable to check out the profile of these women unless until after I indicated that I liked them before actually viewing their profile. Even then they sometimes didn't appear in my connections and I had no way of reading their profile.

Zoosk confirmed that someone created a false account in my name. They listed the account as verified, meaning that either the criminal also hacked my Facebook or email or that they falsely listed the account as verified. The hacker also made purchases with their own credit card to promote this fake account. I immediately took the profile down and contacted their fraud department. When I asked several times for the name on the credit card that was used for these purchases, I was informed that the privacy policy protects the criminal from releasing their name AND that they refunded the criminal. The exact wording is below: "Dear Caitlin, Thank you for your message. As per our Privacy Policy, we cannot provide you with any personal information regarding the credit card used. However, the card wasn't yours and the rightful owner was refunded. Best regards, Johan d J Zoosk Customer Support"

I have twice been trapped into subscribing with Zoosk. As far as I am concerned, it is a scam more than anything. Before subscribing my inbox was littered with messages from so called interested parties. So many that i was suckered into paying. Not one return answer. I texted more than 15 potential partners, and received nothing back. I re-vamped my profile and added more pics, but still to no avail. From appearances it seemed that it mostly older women hoping to hook up with younger men, or women searching for affluent men. The first time I took out a one month subscription, and missed the deadline so another monthly fee was vacuumed straight out of my account. One year later, I opened the app and once again fell for the multiple number of queries in the inbox. I felt like a superstar for a bit, but that quickly degenerated to a very low level of swlf esteem. After a 3 month subscription and no luck, I have decided on the life of a loner. I consider myself healthy, fit, hygenic and well dressed, well mannered, literate and educated, not so bad looking, and living a comfortable existence. In any other time and place, I could have gone clubbing and easily hooked up or even found a regular date. Since the pandemic has forced us infoors, it appears dating sites like Zoosk have have grown extra long talons, reeling in victims for the sake of a quick buck

I received several emails stating there is a Zoosk member that wants to meet you. When I click on the yes button to meet them, I am taken to the carousel and cycle through it but never find that member! I have contacted Zoosk and I get the same reply every time! ("Hi Clarence, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're disappointed that you’re not pleased with zoosk. If you think there is something we can improve upon in order to provide a better experience, please let us know. We understand that you'd like to be directed to the corresponding Carousel member from your email notification. We will pass this suggestion along to the appropriate department for review to see if it can be implemented in the future. Sometimes it may happen, that the Carousel notification doesn't lead you to the correct profile but to the feature itself. Nevertheless, by going through your matches in Carousel, you'll be able to find the respective profile if the person is still active on Zoosk. As a courtesy for the inconvenience, we have added 7 days to your current subscription term at no additional cost. Thank you for your understanding, and please feel free to contact us again if you have further questions. Best wishes, Zoosk Customer Support") This is Bull $#@&! Why am I getting emails from people that are not members anymore! I will not be a paying customer anymore!

After logging in and reviewing the site. I decided this site wasn't for me. Leaving me the decision to delete my profile. I wasn't able to delete the profile however, I was able to pause it. Would would think by pausing a profile it would not be visible to anyone. That is not the case. I am getting messages. With the idea I should log back in. I want to remove my information and haven't been able to do so. This leaves to believe this site is not about the consumer. Its sole purpose is to get new subscribers based on how many members it has . Even the ones that wish not to be associated with the site. Beware,

One star us too good for this site. Let me start with the unqualified people running it. Not sure what qualifications you need, I would think minimal but that seems still to much for them. They put people in your views making you think they are interested but it is all false. They reject photos of your face, same face as the other photos submitted several times, saying they can't verify it. Their call center is in another country so no ties to US or probably even run by anyone in the US. The fake profiles are out of control and they do nothing about. Save your money, this site is a scam in my opinion.

Horrible service with 95% fake profiles. Non-existent customer support. I do NOT recommend anyone pay for this service. My legitimate profile was falsely flagged as a scammer, and I was locked out of my own account! This means that I was unable to delete my profile because they claim I am now banned from the service for scamming (when in fact, Zoosk is the one "scamming" people. As further evidence of the scam, I saw someone I personally knew in the "real world" on the site and when I asked her about her being on the site she stated she hadn't been a member for over 3 years. This means Zoosk does not delete your profile but still uses it as "bait" for new users.

Zoosk uses fraudulent practices to keep consumers interested. Once I got sick of the many fake accounts, I opted out of renewing my subscription. Within hours, I became the most popular man on the internet. I was getting likes from extremely attractive woman. Then I started to notice something, every single “woman” lived in the same town so I looked up the town and in the 2020 census, they had four hundred residents. They where all divorced college graduates without children with only one profile picture. About half of them would send me a message which was just a plain Jane question about “what might your expectations be on this site”? If you notice, it sure reads like it’s from India. However, it didn’t matter because after a few days they would all block me. This happens 100% of the time when I state my intentions are to not give them any more money. It’s an extremely deceptive and illegal business practice.

Waste of time and money . want me to pay a third party to contact their help line , another scam they have going . I have one member blocked yet still recieve messages that they have viewed my profile ?? I cant see them since blocking . Fake profiles everywhere . I found a profile I liked approx 100 mile from home and contacted them , alas no reply then I needed to look on the map and realised that it was a small farming community which last time I went had two houses. A wider age search found 13 women with profiles at that location . Australian Census results show 12 residents in total over that area. What a scam . Downloaded the phone APP cannot see profiles or reply to messages without paying another subscription . Also there are different womens profile pictures for the same area which cant be found on the main subscription .

This site is very trashy. If you are a guy, you see so many fake and scammer profiles it's ridiculous, at least 5 or more per day. I never see this on any other dating site, apparently Zoosk is not competent enough to control it. Also, the site sends out tons of fake views. If someone swipes past your profile without even opening it, the site sends you a "view" from that person indicating they are viewing your profile when in fact they aren't. If a person deletes your view of them, it sends a view back to you! The site is trying to make you think everyone is checking you out when they aren't. Between the scammers and fake views, this site is just overloaded with so much garbage it is confusing and annoying to use.

First , I will say that I actually have actually gone on dates with ladies i have met on Zoosk .However I will say I have noticed problems with the site that remain to be resolved.Like most people I have multiple email accounts. When I try to open Z from anything but my primary email( I do in fact have a legit paid subscription) they show me who has looked at my profile and tell me I have messages...Fair enough, however when I attempt to open the messages , I am directed to pay for a Subscription ...I have a valid account, even when i look at my account while legitimately logged in via a secondary email address, Z is blocking me from COMPLETELY DIFFERENT search results ,messages, who viewed me , etc etc. Also another issue is the secondary email look at this site shows me many "way more local" ladies than logging in via my primary email. QUESTION...if i have a legit account with a legit username and password , WHY am I getting COMPLETELY DIFFERENT results ????I wish there was a special branch of federal law enforcement that would investigate these clearly obvious modern day lack of specific law skirters...I Have caught them with their pants down ...85% snake oil counting on your subscription $$$.

HORRIBLE SITE. I PUT IN MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AND KEPT GETTING TURNED DOWN. THIS MADE NO SENSE BECAUSE I HAVE PLENTY OF MONEY IN THIS ACCOUNT. WHEN I FINALLY TALKED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON, THEY SAID THATI HAD BEEN BANNED FROM THE SITE..?? COME TO FIND OUT THAT MY BANK REPORTED THE ACTIVITY ON ZOOSK AS "SUSPICIOUS". I STTRAIGHTENED EVERYTHING OUT WITH MY BANK BUT ZOOSK SAID I WAS BANNED WITHOUT A REASON. I ASKED WHAT I COULD DO AND THE PERSON TOLD ME TO SEND TO THEIR LEGAL DEPARTMENT (WHICH I DID, 2 WEEKS AGO). I SENT THEM ANOTHER EMAIL ASKING WHY THERE WAS NO RESPONSE...NOTHING!! THIS SITE IS THE WORST!! HOW DID IT GET VOTED AS ONE OF THE BEST DATING SITES?

1. It is impossible to actually contact a customer service agent when there is a real problem that requires customer service or technical support. 2. It is also nearly impossible to have your profile deleted. When I attempted to do so, I got an error message stating that I had to first cancel my subscription, which I had ALREADY DONE A MONTH EARLIER thru PayPal. So, in the zoosk subscription page they had erroneously marked my account as delinquent, with NO OPTION TO UNSUBSCRIBE . That meant that I was trapped on the site with no option to unsubscribe so that I could have my profile deleted, another cheap trick for them to keep my profile on the site. I have yet to find a way to actually contact them to fix the problem. 3. I attempted to contact them over a month ago with another issue and it took them 2 weeks to even respond to a simple problem, which I thoroughly explained. Instead of fixing it, they gave me the runaround by stating they needed screen shots--it was a simple problem. They did NOT need screen shots! Needless to say, I just deleted the email, and realized they have no intention of actually assisting any of their subscribers. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE-OF-CRAP SITE!!! IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL, THE CHANCES ARE NEAR ZERO THAT YOU CAN REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE OR TECHNICAL SUPPORT. THERE IS NO INFO I CAN LOCATE ANYWHERE THAT PROVIDES A WAY TO TRULY GET ASSISTANCE. THE SITE IS A SORRY MESS, A JOKE. AND YES, IT IS OVER-RIDDEN WITH SCAMMERS, BOTS, FAKE PROFILES, AND MANY, MANY INACTIVE PROFILES. I HATED HAVING TO GIVE THEM EVEN A ONE-START RATING BUT HAD TO IN ORDER TO FILE MY REVIEW! I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN TO GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE-10 STAR RATING.

Zoosk is a horrible site. I’ve tried letting them know when I found a scammer but couldn’t get through to them. Also, they automatically renewed my membership and when I told them to cancel and reimburse me, no response. I was quite irate with them over that so they went in and deleted my pictures off of my profile stating they weren’t clear (they were very clear) and they had other people in them. I’d had them up over a year and, out of five, only two had another person in them. Couldn’t be more obvious what they were doing. I wouldn’t care at all but it was the kicker after charging me another six months. My suggestion to those thinking of joining, don’t do it. Stay far far away.

Every time they you log in to Zoosk, then they try to push mre features on you, which requires you to give them your credit card number. BEWARE The Senior Scammers are alive and doing well on Zoosk. Subject: “elder fraud” and Its devastating impact on America’s Seniors. The Romance scam is a “EVIL crime”at the lowest level ever. The Crooks that tell me, a 70 year old man, that she (he) is madly in love with him…Ha… Unscrupulous manipulators prey on Seniors night and day, defrauding them of billions of dollars annually–some estimates peg the annual loss at more than $36 billion. It’s a major problem.

If I can leave negative stars I would leave five of them. Customer support is terrible. I was a subscriber for couple years now. My subscription was expiring and I try to renew for 6 months . They try to charge my card 6 times at once ! and of course my bank stopped those payments. The charges were couple for 6 months, then they tried half of the amount and then even an amount for under $10. Then Zoosk completely blocked my account and didn’t respond to my messages to customer service and didn’t allow me to make a new account even. I just met this guy that we were very interested in each other and now I lost maybe the connection I was waiting for years to come. Very disappointed .... Also don’t put nice pictures they always think you are scam , they remove your pictures and can get blocked just because they think you are too good looking so you are a scam. My advice: try to find a better site .

This site appears to have fake profiles and out of date profiles. I've seen same profiles from a few years ago. The really big flag to me is the following. You get a "VIEW" and below the picture, it shows "ONLINE". So I opened a second ZOOSK window , then click on the OnLine Now feature. Guess what that same person is not shown as on line within the On Line Tool but the View Tool claims they are on line now. I even made a video with both screens at the same time. This implies to me that ZOOSK is send out fake views and fake claims of persons being on line. I cancelling my account. So far after 2 weeks on line I have only identified 5 real persons out of hundreds that I have looked at. I going to go back to the old standby and go to the grocery stores to meet people. I have even sent message to people asking them if they are repeatedly viewing my profile or if this is something zoosk is doing. No replies to those requests to determine if this is a real view. All messages are false. They are created. By the system. It's very misleading. I have found every. Female match that supposedly "wants to meet you" is system generated Very misleading. Also about 95% of these matches are hard core Christians. It's more of a Christian dating site. I've gotten virtually no responses worth the time $ trouble. Free means you can look but that's it. Then send a message with women interested but can't messag without a paid subscription which. Is also misleading. The actualmonth price is alot higher than what they tell you on the site. Very deceptive. Be smart. Use a card for internet purchases that's not connected to your main bank with no more than a $100 or so on it so you don't get burned to bad on a renewal if you forget. Turn the card off if possible after you join so it won't renew if you forget. They won't tell you!! Turn off overseas transactions also if your card allows it. Chime does both and I recommend that card for its control features. Zoosk is joke. Save your money. What you write down means nothin in their matching program

How could they these ladies know I am searching when, my subposed account does not exist in (Zoosk) their system, for now I hav e turn to Eharmony, I still would like some answer to their problem, I wound NOT recommend this site to any one

They Advertise to have free features but the only free features they have is to look at the available members and select "yes your interested or no your not interested". That's it. There is nothing else available for free on their site. I just joined yesterday 11/11/2020 and I just deactivated my account 11/12/2020 because I tried to send a message and a pop up window popped up to ask me to pay. I tried to read new messages and another pop up window popped up asking for money. What's the point in taking advantage of these free features if you can't send or read any messages. If you ask me It's not only a Scam but Their website Is a Complete Tease only! I was forced to give them a star in order to write this message otherwise I would not of give them one star either. One more thing when I deactivated my account they only give you so many characters to describe you are leaving. Full of Boloney!

I subscribed for 6 months and had several women view me every few hours indicating they were interested but would not reply to my messages. I only spoke to two women who actually replied back but only once each. After my subscription expired, I began getting as many as 4 emails a week stating someone messaged me or wanted to meet and countless emails stating women were viewing me AND most of them were good looking. I believe those were all Zoosk generated emails to try to get me to pay for another subscription in order to respond. They over extended by sending too many "Perfect Match" emails after I didn't get any during the 6 months I was active. Now I'm getting several a week??? HA! I'm not easily fool twice!

Zoosk has many problems 1. if someone views you and you remove them from your list it sends them a view which looks like you viewed them. So they view you and so on. I have had people send me emails saying I view them 6 or more times when all i did was try to remove them. 2. they have a chat feature. If you send someone a chat request and they don't respond and they log off as soon as they log back on you get an email request the they requested to chat which was incorrect. 3. every time you scrool thru your viewed list it sends the people that viewed you a view from you. Again a vicious circle. this is the worst dating app I have seen.

I had signed up once but didn’t remember why I quit briefly and signed up again when I run of our men to swipe on bumble. I have to say, as a female, the selection of men in my age group (48) is very limited. They are mostly over weight or age poorly. Sorry for being direct. Also I get most of the men that are much older than me instead of plus & minus. The connection, as other viewers have said, is very shallow but not worse than other websites. I am attractive and youthful looking and wish they could pair me with some men in the 40’s. Too late to canceled the paid subscription. Won’t recommended if you care about looks/physical attractions.

The company accepts no responsibility for selling a product that does not function. Their customer support lacks any concern to repair techincal malfunctions ocuring with an account, rendering subscription fee paid fraudulent in that they do not demonstrate any knowledge of "implied warranty" of service sold. I am paid up subscriber.. but I cannot use the messaging function... the website software blocks any attempt to upload photos and thus no messaging is allowed. Contact with Zoosk tech support has proven futile as their responses indicate they have no interest in pursuing my complaint of a useless paid subscription .. i.e. the services paid for are not available and not interest on their part to fix the problem with their software... making it fully functional via what was paid for.

Negative 5 STARS!!!!! • ZOOSK IS NOT FREE!!!!!! It takes two paying members to make a connection! Unless a paying member pays additionally to accept the opposite sex messages. However I have when I had paid the additional $9.99 others didn’t know they were able to contact me free! GGGRRR • Views are not always actual views but ZOOSK trying to force a connection! • You searches will consist of many profiles by 1 person. (They didn’t delete their previous profiles) ZOOSK uses these to falsely attract others!!!  • Like above, your searches will consist of people that have not been on there for years! There is no option to search who has been on recently! ZOOSK also uses these to falsely attract others!!! • Searches seem to have the profiles in pretty much the same order every time you search! • Notification that someone wants to chat with you? But they didn’t say anything!? ZOOSK trying to force a connection! • Renewal-if you don’t cancel before your renewal date… they will have already charged you! • Views are seen in notification (Bell), then yet you go to views and do not see who viewed you???! Who know!!???? You miss out on views. • Messages are often lost, Slow messages,! I have had to F5 A lot to get through this site! • You can’t tell who is a paying member. It’s a guessing game! As if dating is not hard enough! • When you are done using the service, delete your profile and your pictures! Zoosk will use your profile to attract others. Yep. Even when you are not signed on and have forgotton about zoosk! Your profile is still out there. Don’t give people the wrong idea that you are active on there. At least delete your pictures!!!! • You are not allowed to put in your profile that you are a paying member or anything to that affect! Why is it a secret to announce if you are paying or not!????? It’s a guessing game!!!! • As a guy, you will get more attention from Scammers that have their number on the pictures! These are scams. Funny part about it is they approve your pictures (they had to approve mine) Why are all these scammers getting through to paying members?????? Are these pictures not going through the approval process? • Trying to understand why they have blocked my paying service. Is this a secret why you can’t tell me? Ok so CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS TOO!!!!! These are just some of the issues I have had with them in the past 3 years! With all that is said above Zoosk is very hard to deal with and very hard to make a connection with! I guess it’s the Zoosk intention to try to egg interests on but I believe it hurts and adds to the confusion when getting to know someone! • I had started to write this while I was a paying member. On Sunday August 12. I was blocked from Service! I had contacted them and they refuse to tell me how I violated Terms of Service. At that point. I decided to finish this review! Leave reviews with several blogs and complaint boards, and dispute the payment with my bank! BBB-Not sure with all of the BBB reviews that they let this company or business live!!!!! BBB doesn’t appear to favor the consumer! Apparently you cannot file a complaint at BBB regarding Zoosk.

Stay away from Zoosk. I joined for a month and cancelled my subscription immediately so I wouldn't be charged for a second month. I was charged anyway, and they refuse to refund my credit card even though I caught it the day it posted. You have to hit the cancel button in about 5 consecutive screens before it actually cancels the subscription. I received emails telling me I had a messages from a member, but when I clicked the link it took me to a page that said I didn't have any messages. There were a few interesting people on the site, but I never heard back from any of them. I did a little research and found some were fake. One had a verified picture, but it turns out the picture was one Demi Lovato posted of herself w/o makeup.

Wish I'd found this site BEFORE I stupidly signed up for three mos. It's AWFUL. There is next to no way to set up criteria for people who might be a good match, unless you do it in the SEARCH function. Every day I get "smart picks" - and while in my 'story' I've indicated higher education, fit, within 50 miles, non-smokers, I get sent profiles from 250 miles away, men who look like my grandfather or an extra in a Hells Angels movie (nothing against bikers, but that's NOT what I'm looking for.) There's no way to delete someone from the list of people who are interested in you except to BLOCK them. It's a lousy site overall, not user-friendly, and certainly not interested in anything but making $$ for themselves. Reported a guy who admitted he was married, they did nothing. Haven't run across any serious problems yet, but in the time I have left on there I am sure I will run into some weirdos. FYI - even if you cancel with them (which only means you won't be auto-renewed) you have to send a snail mail letter demanding that ALL your information be removed from the site .... that's why it looks like there are so many members. No one gets deleted unless you tell them to.

This review comes from 5 years of off and on membership in 30-90 day increments in search of a possible Long Term Relationship with a male between 55-65 years. At great expense per outcome, this endeavor resulted in two miserable dates and one stalker. The stalker would have been a date, but I caught him trying to put Valium in my soda while I was the ladies room. I walked out to find him doing this, so I left. Six months later he showed up at the airport following me on my vacation out of country! IMHO here’s the scoop for men of this age group online at Zoosk: 80 percent fake profiles, 10 percent identity theives, 5 percent are marrieds looking for pen pals and 5 percent poor souls like me looking for love in all the wrong places. The memberships are fake and numbers inflated to make the buyer feel like it is a good investment. Buyer beware!

Zoosk is not trustworthy in ways that hurt if you pay for the service. Zoosk claims to have millions of members. Less than one in four may be a legitimate active member. The millions of profiles of people that are likely scammers or profiles of people who are not actively using Zoosk waste your money, frustrate you, and cost you precious days of your life lost in willful illusion. Many of the profiles are of people who never were active users. Zoosk edits anything posted to Zoosk to remove any disclosure of the profile's inactive status or dissatisfaction with Zoosk. Other services may also bloat their user base with phony profiles. I doubt though that any has the huge number that Zoosk has - or anything close. Zoosk functionality is weak and some flaws are chronic. The "matches" Zoosk shows are often ludicrous and contradictory when you compare your profile with the Zoosk match. The Zoosk SmartPick function has never reliably functioned. Zoosk's billing and collection practices appear to blatantly disadvantage their customers. Zoosk could make Wells Fargo's greedy fraudulant customer treatment look friendly by comparison. Zoosk appears to care little about failing to provide the service promised. Zoosk employees only "apologize" for the untruths told by other employees. There is no apparent institutional honesty. A BBB Better Business Bureau rating is paid for by the business and is not a reliable indicator of the rated business's honesty.

First off, I chuckled when I saw one of the pros mentioned of Zoosk is that it had an A+ rating from the BBB. Seriously? That's the best you can do? Anybody with a whimper of a pulse knows that BBB ratings are a complete farce in the year 2019. It amounts to as much as utilizing Wikipedia for your research project. Just the mention alone of Zoosk utilizing fake profiles to bait people into paying should be cause for a class action lawsuit. How can this be readily professed, yet your still going to give a halfway decent review to these scam artists? I had the same thing happen to me. Tried several different sites, and the one message I would always get, came within a day after I joined, from some attractive lady supposedly in my vicinity. But there was no way to read or respond without first forking over your cc info. Then she of course would not reply. Since then, no messages in a month from anybody, except those lame emoji/heart symbols from somebody 100 miles away, and often looks like Jabba the Hut. No coincidence. These guys, POF, and Match are all scams: specially if you are a guy. Get involved in your community: you'll be less lonely (I didn't feel so lonely until I used a site like Zoosk). Their bait and switch tactics and trying to get you to pay more for stuff needlessly is sleazy. And I've put two and two together to realize some other aspects don't add up: hence don't allow these con artists to think you are nearly the loser you think you are. I believe messages aren't often times even being delivered. For 100% certainty, Zoosk and its competitors are using decoys to sucker people into buying memberships. Three weeks was enough for me, thank you.

Terrible experience, zoosk has one of the most difficult websites to navigate, and I'm pretty tech savvy. The price they charge is for basics, all they seem to do is find new ways for you to give them more money. I receive tons of emails and could not figure out how to respond in addition to other features that just didn't make sense. I cancelled after 5 days... the charge hadn't even gone thru yet. When it did I called them and boy... worst customer service ever!! They could care less about what my issue was...all I kept hearing was I agreed to their terms and they have a no cancelation policy with refunds... 😳. the rep kept talking over me and could care less about how I felt. Most sites give a week trial, they would avoid these issues if they offered that too. Don't bother with Zoosk, you will have better luck without them!
