Cool selection of cars and lots of variety. Disliked how the renter is responsible for cleaning the car, unlike normal car companies where you are not. Car was a little dirty when I received it and I returned it much cleaner than when I got it mostly due to me being worried about being blamed for a mess that wasn't mine. Found that a little unfair.

The experience was very excellent. We rented a tiny car while on vacation in the Denver, Colorado area. We even got up into the Rocky Mountains with it and had no problem with it. All of the customer service and pick up information was done online. Very nice person.

I have rented my Car 7 times so far. I was having a good experience until one bad renter showed up. He damaged my rims and replaced my car tires with some cheap tires. I have submitted a claim. After 2 weeks of talking. They finally agreed to pay for the rims. But bad news is it is three weeks now and i am still waiting for there response on how to proceed. Everything works fine until something bad happens. Now I have to invest what i made so far and extra money from my pocket to get back my car to normal. The performance of my car is spoiled. Remember, Something happens like this. You will be hopeless. Uploading the pics prior and post the trips will help you sometimes. But its finally your car that you are risking. Just think if that lil extra dollars is really worth? If you really don't care about all this. Turo is a good platform surely to make those extra bucks and the customer service is helpful for small claims. EOD. It's your choice to make extra money or Enjoy your car?

Vehicle less expensive than rental car companies for a larger vehicle. Met when I came off the plane by the owner and was at my check in door when I arrived at the airport for my return flight. Excellent communication with the owner and Turo. Great experience.

Picked the car up at the LAX Turo car lot. The employees were extremely friendly and busy. They did a good job of doing both. Same when I returned the car. The car was fun to drive and worked well. Looking forward to this service spreading across the USA

This is the second time that I have rented a car through Turo. I was very happy with the performance of the John C Infinity Q50 except for the flat tire issue due to the uneven wearing of the tire which resulted in my losing 3 hours on my vacation. This type of incident can be prevented in the future.

The process was easy as far as Eric, the car owner. The wait time on the phone for Turo was excessive. The limited capabilities at this point is frustrating. For instance, changing the primary driver. I was told to cancel the trip, which assesses fees, and reschedule. The customer service rep was friendly and tried to help. I will use this service in the future.

This is the first time I used Turo and had a very positive experience. The car owner was on time when we arrived and was very pleasant. Same for the return. The owner met us at the departures terminal on time. I gave him the keys, pictures taken and off he went. I have already recommended Turo to other family and friends.

Convenient and easy to book. Billing was straight forward with different options for insurance. Pick up and return were not complicated, had to extend my trip and it was done on the app with any wait time. Overall a 5* experiance for a first time user.

Turo is BEST!!! I've used it only 3 times and each time has been the most convenient experience. I like that the renters were from our local community and are very accommodating as I learn the system and need to make changes to my rental of their cars.

I have been saving money on Turo car rentals for 3 years now. I always select airport pick up and drop off for the greatest convenience. No shuttle, no lines! On my most recent trip to Honolulu for 13 days, I saved 60% over using a traditional car rental company!

Easy to navigate and reserve a car. Fees differ for different days, not clear if that is being done by Turo or the car owner. App very efficient in managing end-to-end process. Should be fee assessed to owner, and credited to traveler, for reservations canceled by owner at the last minute. Very responsive support personnel, in the event you have a question not already covered in their extensive FAQs.

So many great cars available for rent, makes it hard to settle on a utility one. Did it selecting a Mini Cooper with six standard gears that was a pleasure to drive. The rest of the Turo operation was a piece of cake! Everything easy at much better cost than the “old” car rentals!

For the most part, Turo is a great concept and allows their users who don't have a need to drive in their everyday lives, to pick one up with ease. Where they fall short is service and operations. For example, I rented a car for a business trip and the when the car was pulled up to me in the lot with the windows down, I along with all the other customers, got a strong smell of cigarette and marijuana smoke. Let me remind you, this was rented for a business trip. The attendants at the lot said I need to get in touch with Turo. Phone calls provided no help so I left an email. Did not receive a response until 3 days later. My trip ended the next day. There was no attempt to make good on this or appease my terrible experience. Granted, this was one bad experience out of a handful of good experiences but nonetheless, a bad taste in my mouth (and bad smell in my clothes for that matter).

The program has worked very well for me, most recently renting a Toyota Prius out of Minneapolis Airport. The owners have been very co-operative and helpful with follow ups to confirm all is ok. The cost is definitely better than regular rentals and there is no hassle at the counters, etc.

There are no guarantees of your experience with Turo. Your car may be amazing, or full of trash and wobbly at highway speed. Your host might even decide to cancel on you at the last minute and you'll be stuck struggling to find a reservation when it would have been easy days earlier. However, if you cancel last minute, they keep all your money. The only thing that makes these troubles tolerable is that if you are in a city that is well served, you can find a car close to where you are at a reasonable price instead of going to one of the major rental agencies farther away. Also, when you have issues, if you complain enough you can get a $30 travel credit. I think they are still working the kinks out at Turo.

Turo is a great concept. I don't think all of it's users understand the concept of a community sharing service however. Turo still has work to do with it's booking system as well. I've had several experiences where I booked a vehicle and it wasn't actually available and had to be refunded. All of the vehicles aren't clean when you pick them up either unlike a traditional rental car services.

I am really pleased with Turo except for one thing. .. Before my first trip, I went to the website to use the $25 code, but was unable to. I called customer service, told them the website would not allow me to use the promo, and asked if maybe I could use it now. I was told no, it had to be before the first trip. I'm a satisfied customer, but would have been an EXTREMELY satisfied customer if I were able to get the $25 credit.

Turo is the best...give your money, and not much of it...to a person like you who's willing to share. Buy more luxury with your money and find a car with some character. Do you want to drive a mundane rental? Or, something with a personality. I think Turo is the best and i will ALWAYS check the listings from Turo before I travel anywhere.

We rented our car in Phoenix, AZ. The pickup at the airport was quick and easy, as was the short drive to the office. The same was true on our return. Fast, friendly service. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating is because the car itself was a bit sluggish going through the hills between Phoenix and Flagstaff. The ease of rental and staff were excellent.

I like dealing with actual people rather than big businesses. Turo allows me to do just that. The convenience of having someone drop off the car to me & pick it up when I'm done is a game changer when visiting a city that I've never been to. I don't want to waste time getting to my journey. Very bad first impression! Booked a car, owner did not respond in a timely manner so we had to cancel. A refund was received but was over $70 short because of the difference in exchange rate. We paid with a Canadian card and the amount was in USD. However, no mention in the policies about not accounting for differences in exchange rates or else we could have acted differently (paid with a USD card). Customer service couldn't do anything, offered credit but we will not be using site again. They offered to talk to someone to put policy on site but didn't help our current situation. Very disappointed.

I am so happy that someone came up with this car rental idea. My first experience with Turo was to my trip to Las Vegas! It was my 21st birthday and I wanted to ride out in style. I was able to rent a 2018 range rover for 38$ a day! It has cars all the way from kia optimas to mercedes G wagon! I like this company so much because you literally get to choose the exact car that you want to rent, and the people who cars you are renting will meet you wherever you're at to ensure the best experience!

Avoid Turo. Their system is setup to protect hosts and prey on renters. I rented from them several times without realizing that the renter is financially liable for ANY damage to the car even if it's not your fault. We had a basic road hazard issue of a rock chipping the windshield on the highway and even though it wasn't our fault we had to pay the host almost $1000 to replace the windshield on his car. He could have used his insurance but turo put the responsibly on us. STAY AWAY!

I rented a car in Hawaii with Turo and the van was infested with German roaches and almost infested all our belongings had we not noticed it and cleaned all our belongings. I called the company and they gave me a partial refund but they really need to be cleaner with their rentals. I left a 1 star review to warn other possible renters and Turo never posted my review and the person I rented the van from has 5 star reviews which doesn’t make sense. I was just trying to spare the next person of this nightmare. Fake advertising company, avoid the stress & just pay for a regular rental company

I have rented auto from your company since around 2015. I am terribly upset regarding your customer service Host. The Host cancelled 3 hours before my trip started. I was notified while I was at the airport. This is totally unacceptable. This is a common issue with your company. For emergency situations there is no immediate relief. WILL NEVER USE YOUR AGAIN. Wish I could give zero stars. The first car I booked was a scam account and tried to get $500 as a "deposit" from me. Turo automatically cancelled this reservation and rebooked for me and over charged me over $300 which I had to call and wait 7-10 business days to be reimbursed. My second host cancelled while I was on my flight. I landed in Denver and was stranded with my infant. I had to book a rental from another company for $500o. I had to wait another 7-10 business days for turo to reimburse the original booking and was only offered a $50 credit for the inconvenience. HORRIBLE experience and HORRIBLE customer service. Won't be booking with Turo again!!!!

My husband requested a car date/time via Turo and the “host” approved. The “host” understood my husband would be late in lieu of inclement weather (he had texted him such from his Lyft ride—- a ride he paid $159 for in order to get to the hosts house). My husband arrived about an hour and a half after his arranged rental time with the knowledge that he was paying for this vehicle even though he hadn’t yet physically obtained it yet. The host was sitting in a chair when my husband pulled up and had a meltdown over his arrival time (all witnessed/recorded by Lyft driver who felt SO bad he offered to drive my husband back home for free). He proceeded to yell, arms flailing that “it was his “dead wife’s car”, she’s been dead for 4 months and wasn’t renting it to him—-and that he already called Turo to cancel. My husband being the gentleman he is, paid the Lyft driver for a return ride home. The host proceeded to send harassing texts to my husband for several days after until he was blocked from doing so. This individual was/is totally unhinged and apparently, mentally unstable. He should not be a “host” for Turo or anybody else. (As a matter of “side”, Turo did not call/text my husband at any time during his trip to the hosts house to let him know his ride had been cancelled, they did reach out however in attempt to collect $147.00 cancellation fee from him. After several painfully lengthy phone calls with Turo call center located outside the US, they understood what happened and issued a refund). Remember, just like Craigslist; you’d encountering an unpredictable stranger. Caution kids, you’ve been warned ...

Turo is a total scam. I have been a renter and a rentee and in both cases terrible experience dealing with Turo. The whole idea of either letting someone else take your car or you driving someone else's car without noone to really mediate/validate is scary. My guest arrived 4 hours late. I almost missed a flight I had to catch for an important meeting. Called Turo multiple times to locate the guest and find the ETA - no dice. While I did not have horrifying experiences as a host, I did have a dangerous experience as a guest. The car I picked up stalled on the highway at 70mph. I have been driving for 25+ years so was able to instictively get on the shoulder promptly. Called Turo for roadside assistance - NADA. Stay away at all costs. Turo might have been a good option during rental shortage, but not any more. In fact rentals with other fees end up much higher than renting a car the old fashioned way.

I rented my car on TURO and the guest left the car 1 hour from my location with significant damage to the front bumper. I had to pick up the vehicle the next day because the car was far and the rent ends at night. When I file the claim I give TURO all the requested documents including original photos and an estimate from the shop. This incident happened on March 20, 2023, and today May 19, 2023, the claim is still open. TURO just called me today to let me know that they can't prove the incident was done during the rental period, and if the guest doesn't accept the claim they will not pay it. From this incident to another incident of a guest that damage my string wheel I have lost more money on this platform than I made. TURO, take care of your host because without us your business is nothing.

I rented a car through Turo. When I picked up the car, I left a backpack at the pick up location. I went back an hour later and the people who assisted me said they didn’t see it. The problem is I had “find my iPhone” and could see that my iPad and headphones were on site. As we searched for the backpack, the signal kept moving. Turns out the person who handed us the keys was in a truck with blacked out windows and was screaming at his employee to get us the f*** out of there. So my wife texted me that w needed to go. We could see my iPad move down the freeway in LA. We tried to track in down a it was showing at a computer repair shop in LA. Then we got a text saying if we paid money, they would give it back to us. In the end, we filed a police report in Culver City, had to hire an Uber to follow us to the drop off as we were scared for our life and then filed a police report. We also alerted Alexandr P. The we had the issue who never called or did anything. Miraculously, the backpack - no iPad or headphones and $1,000 missing - was returned to the police station and shipped to us. What’s unreal and the host posted a bad review of me saying I falsely accused them of stealing the the backpack, rated me a 4 and then Turo blocked me from ever renting again. Which I just learned as I considered using them this month, 10 months later. And then I called Turo, they said I had indeed been banned and said they would review and never got back to me. What terrible service.

I had a terrible experience as a Turo Host!! We are in the SLC, Utah metro and started with a minivan. It was profitable, so we got another one, then tried a luxury SUV to appeal to the skiing visitors. The first 3 trips went perfect with raving reviews, but the third lost control in a rainstorm and got in an accident. Turo refused to process the damage claim, because my safety inspection was 3 months old. The claims adjuster also advised me that they could deny the claim, because I didn't have a photo of the guests Driver's License and photo of the guest holding the Driver's License. My personal insurance would not cover the damage, because the accident occurred during a Turo Trip. The damages we over $18,000 and we were stuck to cover the bill out of pocket! As we started this Turo Host experience, our current bank and insurance company would not consider being associated with Turo, this was my first ignored warning. The fine print in Turo's agreements gives them several loopholes and I haven't figured out how to hold Turo or their Guest accountable. The agreements include a no-lawsuits clause, so I cannot sue Turo. I have requested arbitration four times with no response. The risk of have any vehicles on the road, driven by strangers, with practically no insurance is way too high to be considered. I discourage anyone from becoming a Host. If you are already a host, I encourage you to cash-out your assets before they get totaled without coverage.

You're at the mercy of whoever you rent from. My brother rented twice. The first time the guy had the car at Dulles. He said he'd pick us up, so we told him we'd arrived and then waited. Then he told us that he'd parked way out at the end of the lot, so we schlepped there. We couldn't find the car for 15 minutes. So that wasn't a great experience. The second time we picked the car up and checked in with a human being. When my brother dropped the car off, on time, he again gave the keys to a human being. The next day he got a charge saying he hadn't returned the car on time, which was a bold-faced lie. It took hours to reverse the charge, and we got nothing for our time. So altogether I'd say it's a mixed experience, and definitely buyer beware.

I had been a happy guest for Turo for several trips, until a recent trip changed my opinion. I had no issues on car damages and always kept the host’s cars clean after use. But we met a host who made a sudden location change and lack of communication issue. After communicating with Turo customer service back and forth through emails, I summarized their host biased policy: 1. If host listed a service that he/she could not provide and did not inform guests before the 2 days before the trip starts, and you checked in the trip, nothing will happen to the host. Turo will just kindly "remind" the host to correct her/his listings for the future. 2. If hosts cancel the trip, they get $25 (more than 24 hours) or $50 (within 24 hours) punishment. If guest cancels the trip within 25 hours before the trip starts, guests pay 0.5 day (<2 days trip) or 1 day’s trip price + half of any delivery fee. For cleaning, disinfecting, airline interruptions, death or hospitalization of family member, natural disaster et al caused issues, you need to call customer service immediately before checking in to get full refund. Toru policy did not say if they will fully refund you if you cancel the booking within 24 hours due to sudden location changes made by the host. 3. Hosts and guests will leave reviews blindly after the trip, but cannot change after reviews are published. Hosts have the privilege to response/comment on guest’s reviews, but you cannot comment back what host said about you as a guest.
