We have used Allstate Auto insurance since we've been married - over 31 years. We have been very happy with the help we've received on the few claims we've had. We've also appreciated the agent's help in reviewing our coverage and helping us make adjustments as our life has changed.

I had Allstate for many years and was denied a roof claim multiple times when contractors had verified that I had hail damage. Friends told me that Allstate was known for denying roof claims. I switched insurances and the new company approved the new roof.

I used progressive insurance to insure my motorcycle. The insurance was inexpensive, but the best thing was that it was so easy to set up through my independent insurance agent. I really like the ease of getting it set up!

Absolutely horrible! Their rates are ridiculously high, their "safe driver" program they have is complete garbage. It actually RAISED my car insurance, their customer service answers immediately but they always seem to be on the defensive. I wonder why? Too many complaints perhaps?

You can find rideshare, personal, Mexico, and classic car insurance through both Progressive and Allstate. If you have a nice sound system, you can purchase insurance coverage for that from Allstate.
While you'll find similar types of coverage from either insurance company, there are some differences in the discounts offered by each. Allstate and Progressive share some of the same types of discounts, like personalized rates based on driving habits.
Progressive's Snapshot program and Allstate's Drivewise program monitor your driving and then adjust your rate accordingly after the first insurance period. Allstate goes further in some states by offering insurance rates based on your mileage through its Milewise® program.
When it comes to discounts, Progressive stands out for offering a homeowner's discount and a continuous insurance discount. The continuous insurance discount allows you to save if you've maintained insurance, even if your policy was not through Progressive.
Allstate also rewards safe driving by offering a bonus for every six months you are accident free. It also offers Allstate Rewards to incentivize good driving. These rewards are available through the Drivewise app.
While Progressive and Allstate are both good options for car insurance and have very similar offerings, Allstate is worth considering if you're looking for a company that offers perks for good driving.
