I’m am on social security disability. I contacted progressive to get a quote. I never signed up with them. About three weeks after speaking to them my wife noticed that money was taken out of her account. We contacted progressive immediately and told them I had my OWN insurance on my cars. They said if I sent them a copy of my declaration page they would refund her account. To date they haven’t refunded her account and they now said she owes them more money. What a ripoff company.

I was loyal customer for years and when someone damaged my car while parked, I filed the claim and had hard time finding someone to help me. Agent assigned to my case didn't want to pick up my calls or answer my emails. She kept calling me back at time when I specifically said I am st work and not able to talk. Eventually I gave up and nobody contacted me after that.

This review is regarding Progressive's Roadside assistance only. My experience otherwise has been great. I locked my keys out of my car. I was in an apartment complex on the job and knew no one there. I called Progressive around 7pm, they said I would have someone to my location within 45 minutes. I called an hour later and could not get a live person on the phone. I started texting the link they sent - no response. 2 hours later I figure out how to reach out to locksmith they called to service me with unlocking my car. They responded by text now 9:00 they are almost there, and it will be 30 minutes. At 10:00 I'm still texting, calling both the locksmith and Progressive with no response. Keep in mind, It's been dark outside since 8pm and I'm an open target, nowhere to go. I kept telling family and friends, no they say they will be here in 30 minutes. At 10:30 pm I gave up and had a friend come and use a coat hanger to unlock my car. at 11pm,as he lowered the coat hanger down my window, the locksmith pulls up. It was an old beat up red Ford Explorer, with two children in the back, in car seats with no clothes on. A lady gets out of the passenger seat, and the male driver (I'm assuming Dad) gets out and rushes over to my car. I looked up and said, don't bother, we've got it. And don't bill Progressive, because we did it ourselves. Ugghhh, They leave and I immediately get the first phone call of the night from Progressive. A lady with a foreign accent wants to know if the locksmith unlocked my car. She asked me twice, did the locksmith unlock your car? I proceeded to tell her the above, and that I got my car unlocked myself, and to please send me the survey for roadside assistance. I never got a survey. Had something happened to me, there would have been a lawsuit over the handling of this incident. It was evident the roadside assistance team, either didn't care or were just slacking on the job to make sure the customer was serviced in a timely matter. If you're gonna use Progressive's Roadside assistance, you should make sure you have a backup plan.

When my son got in his accident Progressive basically did nothing. I don't even know what kind of deal they did with the driver of other car. They did not help to make ANY phone calls at all like my moms insurance did with her accident. I basically had to make most of them. What did I pay them for? I had know idea what I was doing and they have me no instructions either. So I did not get my money back from the GAP insurance like I should have and was told I was getting. "The check is coming" but I never received it and then it became too late. No one at Progressive would return my emails or phone calls. Waste of insurance premiums.

I really appreciate this company for their car insurance and I love it when our premium goes down. There home insurance sucks because if you ever need to file a claim they raise your premiums, and they RAISED ours $577 a year. That is absolutely unacceptable.

I changed to Progressive after 50 plus years with Allstate. Allstate raised my rates almost every renewal with no accidents or claims. I saved almost 50% by switching to Progressive. I have not had any claims with Progressive.

Got a lower quote than Geico which was my current insurance at the time. I switched went on their driving monitor program. I got a high score and a congratulations text stating I'm saving money. However on renewal of the policy the premium was higher and much higher than I was paying with Geico. Premium went from 136 to 169 to 189.00. Needless to say I have returned to Geico.

Progressive auto insurance is a good company that is reliable and holds true to their word in paying claims. I do feel that my insurance has definitely gotten more expensive over the years and I may need to review my policy since I have been with them for over three years.

You get what you pay for!! A lot of people price check different insurance companies and a lot of times Progressive is less expensive. Great, right? It is until you get into an accident. They are very difficult to deal with and a lot of fine print that you didn't read carefully enough. For example; In some policies, they will request junkyard used parts or non-OEM (not from the manufacturer) parts. Rental coverage is another headache. I'm not saying to pay the highest prices, I'm simply saying you're getting a lower quality coverage when you pay less.

Progressive has been decent, but they need to be much more upfront on their site and with their paperwork. Having your monthly bill increase by roughly $100 just because your auto payment canceled is crazy. It's even worse when you actually update the payment information in the site but that doesn't update everywhere, and then it cancels without you knowing it.

Completely average experience. I've had them for the last few years for my moped / motorcycle coverage. They've had decent rates and okay support so far. Last month I accidentally scratched my neighbor's car when pulling out of my spot; my neighbor also had progressive and they've barely reached out to me but also aren't making me pay or do anything. Really neutral experience I guess.

Honestly, I was always pretty happy with Progressive. Had their auto insurance for 4 years and the only left because was StateFarm came in cheaper one year and Progressive couldn't match. They did try to negotiate and come down a little but not enough to warrant staying.

I have always had fantastic customer service. There was an error on their part and they fixed it immediately. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because i was not able to bundle homeowners and auto to save as it was not the best deal out there. Other than that, fantastic!

Progressive has been great to work with and true to their customers. They cover what they say they will cover but like all insurances customer service can sometimes be hard. Also rates go up after adding a car taking it off and then putting it back on months latter.

Progressive is ok, but they really could do more for their customers. They are one of those insurance companies that are happy to take your money & are unhelpful when you need them. I was with progressive for many years until I my friends and family members had issues with payouts in accidents. I was warned, but I didn't listen until I was in a accident. I faced uncertainty with my claim for months. The outcome wasn't good, but it taught me to do my research & go with a better company.

Coverage and customer service were good. I signed up for the good driver discount and had to use a device that monitors speed, braking, etc. I found there was no way to get a score that allowed the lower rate to continue. It doesn’t take into account the times I had to break faster than was acceptable for the score not to reflect negatively. For example when another vehicle cuts in front for which I had no control and it required me to brake quickly. After the period of the discount if the score is not good enough then the rate jumps.

I did the 90 day trial driving tracker with Progressive in an attempt to lower my insurance premiums. I was able to pass and get a significant discount. I will tell you this.. if you break hard if you accelerate hard if you swerve your vehicle in any way even in an attempt to avoid another accident or driver you will be docked points. Also, don't let anyone else drive your vehicle while you have the tracker in your car. My father drove my car one day and I was docked points because he had to break hard.
