I have had progressive for 2 years now. Thankfully I haven't had to use them for anything but a towing reimbursement. But the local agent's customer service is super. I guess the review would be more for Bates Insurance Group, but since we have Progressive for all our car needs, I will give them a 5 star due to the customer service of BIG!

I got Progressive after Geico would not give me a better rate after 22 years of service. Progressive was pretty economical for the first six months, that's when the trouble started. I paid the first policy period with a 6-month payment, so I followed by paying the renewal the same way. The rate went up a little over $100 due to some 'one-time' online purchase discount being removed. I still renewed. When I renewed this policy, I was in the process of buying a house in VA, I moved from NC, so the rate went up a little because of the move. I told them the address I was moving to and where the cars would be garaged. Well, a little over a month later, I got a notice from NC about one of my vehicles. I called Progressive, and when the agent found out I was living in VA, even though my billing address clearly showed I was, she said I needed to change my policy to a VA one. I told her I already changed the address information when I renewed. She said the previous agent only changed the billing address and kept my garaging location as my former NC address. She said I needed to speak to a VA insurance agent. I was transferred to such. I was advised I would need to cancel my current policy and take out a new one. Since I wanted my policy paid by the 6-month option, I was told my total I needed to pay was over $500 more than what I had already paid. I would be refunded the total I paid instead of it being applied to the change. So, I would have ended up paying well over $1400 when I paid just over $900 for my previous renewal. Needless to say, I checked around and Geico actually offered me a much better rate to go back with them. So after 8 months away, I guess I'm comfortable being back with Geico. Progressive played a good game to start with but they completely lost my faith when they bungled a simple address change and then sought to squeeze as much out of me as they could get knowing I was between a rock and a hard place. Flo is a no-go.

Good company, good prices, but they messed up when signing us up. I signed us up, used my email, and pay all the bills. Husband was clueless, as I take care of bills. Progressive automatically put policy under his name, so I was unable to make any changes without his permission. I was very insulted, and it was very inconvenient. They could not fix it. They would have to cancel entire policy and give me a new policy, but by doing so, it flagged us as changing insurance in a short period of time, and the price would have been a couple hundred dollars more.

I went years without having a claim. I have had a hail damage and accident claim within the past year. The ease of the process has been great! And they are generous, not stingy, with the payouts. I also love the roadside assistance option. It’s basically $10/ year for peace of mind. I have used it when my battery died or a tire blew out.

Rates are the consistently the best I can find and service has been great as well. We had an accident which the claims specialist coordinated the repairs all the way through. A few months later, we found that there were still lingering issues and they continued to be very reasonable about covering it and helping.

I’ve had Progressive for about 5 years, and I’ve loved it. They have good benefits and were the cheapest option for my husband and I when we combined accounts. They do tend to take a while to respond when a claim needs to be reported, which can be inconvenient. We also had a pretty high raise in our payments when a claim was filed for a rear ending (but that is pretty normal).

Progressive saved me about $800 a year. You have to pay a full year to get the discounts but well worth it. Was not ready to have a driving monitor hooked to my vehicle. Was never informed we would have to participate in this monitoring activity. After 3 months we were able to remove the monitor and continue life as normal. My friend got a similar discount from another company and did not have to play the monitor game.

I have had progressive auto insurance for over 15 years. For the most part progressive has been reliable, and easy to communicate/with with. However, their road side assistance I have not been impressed with. This past weekend our car broke down on the way home from a vacation four hours from our home. We immediately called progressive and asked them to send us a tow truck. We had to remain on the phone with them for an hour while they tried to locate our position and enter the information into the computer. It took them an hour to figure out how to do that, and another hour for the tow truck to get to us. It would have been much faster for us to just call the tow truck company on our own!

I changed due to some personal reasons with an agent I know. I would recommend them as a basic, low cost service.

Have used them for several years. Always have competitive rates. Great customer service. When I got into an accident they had me go to their collision center. They assessed the damages, had a rental ready for me there, and repaired it there. It was a one stop shop and made the experience so much better. Took the stress right out of the whole thing.

I had Progressive Auto Insurance when we lived in Las Vegas. I not only like all their commercials and advertising but I like their prices! You get a better rate based on your actual driving. I don't know many insurance companies that can promise if you drive safe, you can save more money.

I was not a customer, but I once dealt with the company when I was involved in an accident with a policy holder. The claim process and payout was fast and painless. The adjuster was easy to work with and I really enjoyed my experience with Progressive (as much as one can “enjoy” dealing with the aftermath of a car accident.)

The only complaint I have is when I was signing up and provided them with the coverage I wanted they messed up and I had to fix it a couple weeks after signing up. We have used Progressive for our motorcycle insurance, and they are very easy and good to work with. They answer your questions and during the winter months when the motorcycles aren't in use, they put a hold which is easy and manageable to put them back on when they are going to be used again.

We typically shop auto rates every six months to ensure we're getting the best rate for our coverage needs. We insured our automotives with Progressive for a short period of time and the service and billing was fine, but they didn't maintain the most competitive rate, so we moved on. There was no hassle, or issues. I know their a good company, but I didn't have the kind of outstanding experience to keep me loyal long-term when there were more competitive options for our driving profiles.

I had progressive as a young adult and really loved it because they gave my opportunities to lower my monthly rate. They gave me this little device to plug into my car to prove that I didn't drive a lot of miles or in a lot of traffic and would lower my rate if I had good driving habits! It was great for a poor college student!

I have reached Gold Status with this company. I have two vehicles on my policy. My truck and my son's truck as well. We were just do for a policy renewal. No tickets thank God! I have never had an accident. Safe driver for sure,but our insurance went up 34% percent!! When I called to ask why my monthly payment went up so much. Their response was that the insurance rate has gone up in the State of Florida. Treat me as an individual,because I pay you as an individual.I just live here. Don't punish me for what others do. I will be shopping around.

No No No No- I had this insurance when I lived in Texas. Their customer service is TERRIBLE! I had been hit, and the car actually ended up being totaled. I called 3 days in a row to report this accident and when I finally got ahold of someone I was rudely told "well it wasn't your fault so why are you calling us?" I was shocked. I had always been told that any accident, even if not your fault, you call your insurance company to report....especially because my car had been totaled and my son and I had been taken to the hospital. I was never asked "are you okay, what can we do to help facilitate a rental car, etc?" I made the decision never to use Progressive car insurance again- and I haven't.

Agent assigned to my case didn't want to pick up my calls or answer my emails. She kept calling me back at time when I specifically said I am st work and not able to talk. This review is regarding Progressive's Roadside assistance only. My experience otherwise has been great. I locked my keys out of my car. I was in an apartment complex on the job and knew no one there. I called Progressive around 7pm, they said I would have someone to my location within 45 minutes. I called an hour later and could not get a live person on the phone. I started texting the link they sent - no response. 2 hours later I figure out how to reach out to locksmith they called to service me with unlocking my car. They responded by text now 9:00 they are almost there, and it will be 30 minutes. At 10:00 I'm still texting, calling both the locksmith and Progressive with no response. Keep in mind, It's been dark outside since 8pm and I'm an open target, nowhere to go. I kept telling family and friends, no they say they will be here in 30 minutes. At 10:30 pm I gave up and had a friend come and use a coat hanger to unlock my car. at 11pm,as he lowered the coat hanger down my window, the locksmith pulls up. It was an old beat up red Ford Explorer, with two children in the back, in car seats with no clothes on. A lady gets out of the passenger seat, and the male driver (I'm assuming Dad) gets out and rushes over to my car. I looked up and said, don't bother, we've got it. And don't bill Progressive, because we did it ourselves. Ugghhh, They leave and I immediately get the first phone call of the night from Progressive. A lady with a foreign accent wants to know if the locksmith unlocked my car. She asked me twice, did the locksmith unlock your car? I proceeded to tell her the above, and that I got my car unlocked myself, and to please send me the survey for roadside assistance. I never got a survey. Had something happened to me, there would have been a lawsuit over the handling of this incident. It was evident the roadside assistance team, either didn't care or were just slacking on the job to make sure the customer was serviced in a timely matter. If you're gonna use Progressive's Roadside assistance, you should make sure you have a backup plan.
