The Good

  • Free Trial
  • Optional Usage
  • Auto Attendant
  • Low Price
  • No Contracts

Free Trial

Anyone can try out iPlum with a free account and test call. Additionally, the cloud phone system offers a one-month free trial.

Optional Usage

This service is versatile. It can be used as a second phone line on smartphones or tablets or as a cloud-based phone system with extensions and auto-attendants.

With iPlum, you can choose to take phone calls over PSTN, Wi-Fi, or your mobile data plan’s 3G, 4G, LTE service. It isn’t just VoIP service. You can use it for calling and texting via your existing mobile plan, or users can opt to use Wi-Fi calling or make or receive calls over your data connection. You can even use it on a tablet or device that doesn’t have a data connection, if you like to make calls with your tablet over Wi-Fi.

Auto Attendant

For the small price of $3.99 per month, you can add an auto attendant to your business phone line. This can greatly boost the profile of your small business.

Low Price Business Line

Business phone plans start at $4.99 per month and that includes special security and privacy for your data. It is HIPAA compliant and uses AES-256 Data Encryption and PKI cryptography. The company doesn’t share your metadata the way that free services do. Additionally, there are no annoying ads.

No Contracts

iPlum doesn’t force long-term contracts, and users have the control to stop monthly subscriptions when desired.

The Bad

  • Geared Toward Small Companies

Geared Toward Small Companies

The options that are available with iPlum are mainly geared toward small businesses and business owners. Traditional business VoIP for mid-level and enterprise level companies will likely offer more features, though at a higher price.

The Bottom Line

This is a great option for small business owners who don’t want to carry a second phone all the time for work calls.

Additionally, if you are a business traveler, iPlum can act as your global number helping you to stay connected when you are out of the office. You can easily opt to take Wi-Fi and mobile data calls to avoid roaming charges from your smartphone’s mobile provider when you are traveling internationally.

It has the added benefit of offering secure texting and calling that is HIPAA compliant.

HIPAA compliance for our practice has been using iPlum for 3 years. Pretty stable & our therapists love it for its simplicity. We call/text our clients using iPlum without divulging our mobile number. It has host of other feature, some we use & others we don't .
