The Good

  • VoIP Solutions
  • Small Business Plans
  • Enterprise Level Plans

VoIP Solutions

CenturyLink offers three main VoIP solutions. Each one addresses the different needs a business may have with its communication goals.

Hosted VoIP can easily be scaled to meet business needs. It is recommended for established businesses that need off-site management requiring little to no IT support.

Network VoIP cuts down on costs by utilizing the company’s existing equipment and session-based billing. This solution combines VoIP with SIP trunking which provides a single use platform for the whole office to share.

On-Premise Managed VoIP allows businesses to take full control of their voice infrastructure. Each plan comes with a CenturyLink support team dedicated to their office with 24/7 proactive management.

Small Business Plans

CenturyLink offers over 60 premium VoIP features and 26 unified communication features with additional add-on features. VoIP solutions are available for small businesses, medium businesses, and enterprise-level companies.

Small Business Premium Line

  • $20 per month per user
  • Premium calling features
  • 24/7 support
  • Automatic upgrades and maintenance

Small Business Premium Line with Unified Communications

  • $25 per month per user
  • Premium calling features
  • 24/7 support
  • Automatic upgrades and maintenance
  • Business Communicator App
  • Outlook directory
  • Instant Messaging
  • Click to dial from desktop

Enterprise Level Plans

There are three VoIP options for an enterprise level company. These include SIP trunk for enterprise, SIP trunk for multi-national enterprise, and hosted VoIP. Each of these offers advanced features and high-quality calling to fit the needs of your company.

SIP Trunk for Enterprise

  • Runs over your data network
  • Pay for only what you need
  • Increase service during peak season
  • Prioritize voice traffic so calls are not interrupted
  • Unlimited toll-free calls from all connected locations
  • Protects branch locations from cyber threats
  • Enhance your existing PBX phone system
  • Office phone features go with you on your mobile device

SIP Trunk for Multi-National Enterprise

  • Does not require premise conversion gear
  • Flexible invoicing options
  • Customer portal
  • Free intra-enterprise calling
  • Built-in failover and redundancy to protect form disruption
  • Replaces PRI circuits to deliver calls
  • Simplified management and lower costs

Hosted VoIP

  • Price per-seat
  • Long distance calling
  • Administrator portal
  • Voicemail
  • Click-to-call
  • Manage invoices, view statistics, and report issues through the control center
  • Cloud-based call recording
  • Option features include soft client, voicemail, and virtual seat

The Bad

  • Call for Prices

Call for Prices

CenturyLink offers prices and bundles for small business and personal VoIP but does not offer any pricing information for enterprise level contracts. In order for a company to get a quote, it will need to contact a CenturyLink sales representative. This can be frustrating if you are comparing prices and services with other VoIP providers. It takes time and because sales representatives have a negative stigma attached to them, it may deter people from wanting to call for a quote.

The Bottom Line

Overall, CenturyLink offers a variety of VoIP services from residential to enterprise customers. Each package comes with an extensive list of features that serve as a competitive selling point among other VoIP providers. Most providers require you to call them for pricing so that is something you may have to deal with.

Worked well most of the time but crashed a lot, even after people came several times to fix it.
