  • Use Plan for Online Purchases
  • Large Network
  • Good Plan Features
  • Hearing Discount Access
  • Natural Disaster Assistance

Use Plan for Online Purchases

Many of Superior Vision's plans can be used when making online purchases from eyewear retailers like 1800contacts®, Glasses.com, and ContactsDirect. This makes it easy to use your vision plan.

Large Network

Superior Vision members benefit from a large network of eye care professionals and retail optical chains. These networks include access to independent practitioners and retail chains, so Superior Vision's network is competitive with other companies.

Good Plan Features

Superior Vision offers individual and group plans that include eye exams, eyeglasses or contact lenses, and offer other discounts. Superior Vision plans also include deals on Transitions lenses and LASIK discounts through QualSight® LASIK.

The company offers competitive coverage and access to discounts. It stands out for including Transitions lenses.

Hearing Discount Access

You can also benefit from access to discounts on hearing aids through a Superior Vision plan. These benefits include discounts on premium hearing aids with Bluetooth® wireless that are rechargeable and can connect to your smartphone.

You can also benefit from a 60-day money-back guarantee, a four-year supply of batteries, three years of loss and damage coverage, a year of follow-up care, and a free caption phone offer.

Not many vision plan providers include hearing aid discounts. This offering makes Superior Vision stand out and compete with other providers offering similar hearing benefits.

Natural Disaster Assistance

Superior Vision has a page with information on how to get additional support if you're a plan member and experienced a natural disaster. There are links with information on replacement eyewear, finding an eye care professional, and replacing member ID cards. This assistance is available in California, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

This company deserves 0 stars. The company does not cover what they say they are going to cover in their benefits guide. When I attempted to cancel my plan, I was instructed to go to a website that I was unable to enter because it wouldn't recognize my login information nor would it send a password reset when requested. The company hasn't responded to emails about my request to cancel my plan. Stay away from this plan.

Need to call to ask a very simple question and had to go through about 30 prompts to finally speak to someone who was less then helpful. Asking a simple yes/no question could not be done. I am incredibly disappointed. What a time waster. As the policy carrier - you would think they would be more helpful.

Truly, this is the worst company. Again and again, I've remained on hold to try and navigate their convoluted process to get glasses under insurance and no luck. After a few minutes on hold (after navigating their grueling automated system) I am automatically hung up on. And the email response I got was generic without even acknowledging my issue. Just absolutely atrocious. Just go to EyeBuyDirect because you'll have zero luck if this is your provider.

The issue started with the eyewear provider not billing my claims correctly, after 8 months of billing 4 corrected claims and Superior Vision “guiding “ the provider on how to bill, it was determined to be a “system glitch”. In what clearly appeared to be a case of Superior Vision guiding the provider how to bill the claims so they would coincide with what the provider showed my plan coverage to be, it turns out Superior Vision did not have my plan loaded correctly, the provider did. The provider initially billed with the wrong codes and did not bill for the items my plan covered at a discounted rate, Since Superior Vision never had my plan loaded correctly that is why none of the EOBs that were issued reflected the correct coverage. Luckily, the provider did offer the discount prices the EOBs should have reflected and never did.

None of the the customer service reps I spoke to are actually well-versed in their own companies’ policies or equipped with adequate knowledge of eye care and vision problems. So they are flippant and dismissive of your questions, and quick to bounce you between calling lines because they are too lazy and incompetent to offer help themselves.

I can't get an exam, frames or contact lenses at the same place, instead I have to run around town to find multiple places that will only do parts of what I need. This is the worst vision plan I've been on
