Sling TV won the CES 2015 awards for the "Best Home Theater Product" and the "Best Software/App." It has also been rated the "Best in Show" by Engadget for its pricing, easy-to-navigate interface, and the fact that it could be the beginning of the end for traditional pay television in the United States.

The Good

  • Innovative services
  • Add-ons for customizable package
  • Parental controls

New Innovative Product

Sling TV has created a product that combines traditional cable with video on demand services, streaming regular TV channels live and having thousands of movies available on demand.

Add-On Packages

With Sling TV, users can get different add-on packages such as HBO, Sports Extra, Kids Extra, Hollywood Extra, Etc. These packages average $5 more per month.

Ability to Watch Current Seasons

Users can enjoy their favorite series that is currently airing, rather than waiting for the season to finish and watch a season behind.

Parental Controls

Sling TV added parental control features so subscribers can easily sift channels and movies by rating.

Free Trial

Potential subscribers can try Sling TV free for seven days without any obligation whatsoever, allowing them to try services before making a decision. Overall, Sling TV has a lot of great features for their subscribers. The company has essentially created a new form of streaming TV, allowing subscribers to watch on demand and live TV channels without a cable or satellite contract. They have over 65 channels available and Sling TV works on a variety of devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, XBox One, Android TV and devices, iOS devices, Chromecast, and more.

thumb_down

The Bad

  • More expensive
  • Replay issues
  • Can't stream on multiple devices

Monthly Price

The basic package is a flat rate of $28 per month, which is more than other competitors. However, Sling TV offers streaming movies and TV with live TV channels.

Roku Streaming Issues

Sling TV is fully supported on the Roku player. However, there have been complaints that the Roku app will crash, causing a bad user experience.

No Compatibility with Apple TV

Apple TV is one of the most popular streaming devices on the market. However, there isn't an Apple TV app for Sling TV.

Replay Issues

If a subscriber misses a show and wants to catch up next week, there is a limited time to re-play. Sling TV only allows for a three day "replay" on a few of its channels at this time.

Streaming on Multiple Devices

The most common complaint with Sling TV is due to the inability to stream on multiple devices at one time. You must get individual subscriptions if your family wants to enjoy their different programming on different devices at the same time. Although Sling TV is very innovative and has created a great alternative to cable and satellite contracts, it does have a few drawbacks. The price is a little high, when compared to other streaming TV companies.  Also, Sling TV isn't compatible with Apple TV and has streaming issues on the Roku. However, the main drawback is not being able to stream on multiple devices. This is a big deal now that households have multiple TVs, iPads, phones, and streaming devices.

The Bottom Line

Sling TV is providing a new, innovative way to enjoy traditional cable or satellite broadcasts without breaking the bank. Sling TV is much cheaper than having cable TV with a traditional TV provider. However, the monthly price is a little higher compared to its competitors, but it is a very different service. For some customers, they will need to purchase additional packs in order to get some channels, like MSNBC, Golf, Oxygen, and more. So, if you are looking for a straight on demand streaming service, Sling TV isn't for you.  Sling TV is a higher price for a reason, providing customers with live TV channels and on-demand videos.

I did as much research as I though necessary to believe sling would provide streaming services for World Series, so subscribed only to discover that I can stream NONE of the games real time. I paid first month and they will not refund. They don't refund for ANY reason. In my opinion, their practices are clearly deceptive, but apparently not illegal. I am hoping someone starts a class action lawsuit. Apparently I am one of hundreds, if not thousands, who have been treated the same way.

Absolutely the worst. Have had this for 3 months and it's been terrible the whole time. Stops streaming multiple times throughout any given show. If commercials have not been programmed into that show, many times it goes to "black" during the period of time the commercials should have been running in that time slot. You can't pause commercials. If you pause the actual show for more than 5 minutes it will not start back up at the same point you paused it at, and you have to start all over at the beginning. You can, admittedly, then fast-forward but it only allows fast-forwarding through the show segments, not through the commercial segments, so you have to watch those commercials (or black screen) all over yet again. We're slinging this as far away as possible today and, though it will cost more, going with a much better service.

They are fraudulent company! They illegally charged my card! I cancelled SlingTV within 10 minutes of signing up for the free trial on their website because they were not airing the show I wanted to watch. There is a conversation that I had with their Rep asking about my show and telling them that I was going to cancel because I was only interested in a specific show. I then canceled my account through the website and it went through on the site. Now they say they have no record of that? Lies, Fraud, Scam! They charged me illegally and when I called them they said it's their policy to not give refunds!!! They should never have charged me in the first place! They need to be sued. Do not sign up for sling TV! I can't believe they are even in business! Watch out! Horrible! I asked for my concern to be escalated and the person I spoke with claimed to be a manager yet they had no authority to do anything. She gave me the following address and info to fill out a claim. www.adr.org. Also the address of the billing dept: 9601 South Meridian Blvd, Englewood, CO 80112 SlingTV stole my money! Charged my card illegally and they owe me for what they stole!!!

I've heard about Sling TV's "Free 7-Day Trial" for a long time and as my local cable company gave us a 20% increase in our bill this month, I decided to make a change based on cable's price increase. I went to Sling TV's website and looked at their numerous options before choosing to buy a Roku Ultra for $50 in addition to 3 months of service. Later I found out that I did not qualify for the "Free 7-Day Trial" because I purchased the Roku at a discounted price. So highly recommend trying the Sling TV 7-Day Free Trial before any financial commitment. (I'm not sure how many people will want Sling TV after a free trial because of so many issues like buffering, pauses, hard to use interface with the app alone, etc.) On August 1st, one day after I placed the order online, I received an email from Sling TV saying, "Good news! Your Roku Ultra is on the way. Expect a package to arrive within the next few days. You’ll be watching your personal channel lineup on your big screen in no time." This was NOT TRUE and set me up for an unrealistic expectation! On August 7th, eight days after I ordered Sling TV, I called them to inform them that my Roku Ultra has not arrived. It turns out that their week-old email was a LIE because the Roku had not even been sent, thus delaying it as much as an additional week! I have been playing with the Sling TV app since last week, but it is clunky and hard to work with on my computer and not nearly as easy or convenient without the Roku or other interface. The worst part is the channels often pauses or buffers, and that is REALLY annoying! Sling TV recommends a minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps and my internet is over 100 Mbps plus I'm hard-wire connected with a CAT-5 cable instead of connecting wirelessly, but still get frustrating buffering when I watch! So I contacted Sling TV today (via chat and phone) asking to cancel my subscription and refund my money. I did so because they had not fulfilled their email promise to me. I politely asked to get out of the contract and have a refund issued, but all three SlingTV representatives/supervisors I talked with told me that it was NOT possible because I agreed to purchase the Roku Ultra and 3 months of service. I was told "Sorry you're unhappy, but we can not help you!" I was then promised by Victor that my Roku Ultra would "definitely" be here in 3 days (this Friday, August 10th.) So IMHO, Sling TV’s customer's service won’t help you even if your complaint is fair and reasonable. I’m hoping the Roku will come by Friday and that this interface will make Sling TV a better experience. If not, I will re-connect to our local Spectrum cable and pay three times more for a much better picture quality, better customer service and far greater channel selection. In hindsight, switching to Sling TV was a bad decision for me. CONCLUSION: (1) NEVER sign up for Sling TV without a "Free 7-Day Trail." (That way you can quit without going thru the frustration I did.) (2) Be sure your internet speed is high enough, and be willing to accept the fact that your Sling TV program will pause and buffer regardless of your internet speed! (3) The old saying, "You get what you pay for" is most often true! Paying 3 times as much for cable TV may be worth it as you get MANY more channels with a better interface and no buffering or annoying pauses of your TV programs. Plus Spectrum’s customer service IS far superior…I’ll give them that!

Wish I had read the user reviews before subscribing to Sling's free Roku offer with 2 months prepay. I bought it believing I was going to see the World Cup, Wimbledon and then possibly keep the subscription. When I discovered within a few hours that I could only get a few World Cup matches (and of course not the most important ones) I tried to cancel but they would not budge. I could not have imagined that a 'major' player in the US market with a lot of competition could have such a poor and inflexible customer service policy. If a customer can't get what they want from your service and made a mistake and told you in a timely manner then it is a no-brainer to refund. BTW: I'll be sure to read user reviews before I purchase something again because they shows an accurate review of Sling. Other review sites appear to be advertising for the companies themselves! Perhaps this why Sling gets a 4 stars review on one site when it is in effect 0 stars.

These are worst of worst you will ever experience. We have cancelled the services by last Dec 2017 and the charges suddenly popping up from March, Apr and May 2018. Every time I had to call them for credit it back and deleting the credit card details. The answer is all the same. " We have deleted" and the charges keeps popping up. They have audacity to say they wont be crediting the $10.81 they took on March2018 because we didnt call them early and because of their updated regulations. And they will not be giving me a free month. They have been cheating like this taking money from consumers even after cancellation of services.

The app is horrible. All my other apps work fine with my Apple TV. It has never worked well, always sluggish and slow, but was serviceable for the price. Today, April 27, 2018, I turned on my tv and started up the Sling app and would gain no picture on my tv but the sound worked. I figured it was a minor temporary issue and would just try it again later. Then later in the day (about 3:30pm) I again booted up my Sling app and gain there was sound but no visual, just a black screen. I proceed to reboot the app, still did not work, then I try at least 6 other apps on my Apple TV and all worked fine. So I then decided to contact Sling Customer support. I call an number that was online and the first person said they needed to transfer me to a “Senior Technician” to better help. After being transferred, I discovered that I was transferred to an Apple Tech support person who said they would have to charge me to resolve the issue. I told them I should not have to pay for a problem that I have not caused. So I again called Sling Customer Support, as I was trying to explain what happened to me, the support person (said his name was James) said it could be fixed for a fee. I told him Sling should fix it and that I should not have to pay. He proceeded to hang up on me. I then called Sling Customer support again and again was told I would have to pay to resolve the problem. I, again, stated that I should not have to pay to fix the problem and again the support person hung up on me. Then I try a forth call in to Sling Customer support and got a very nice young lady who listened to me and said she has passed on my issue to the appropriate people. She also has me try a few things to see if we could fix the issue but those ideas did not work (like unplugging the tv then plugging it back in and starting it). So I have decided that I must cancel with Sling.

If anyone is thinking about getting sling tv I wouldn't recommend it! Tim was paying my credit card bill an asked me a question an I noticed sling charged twice. So I hit the dispute button an today I checked an Capital One refunded it. So I went back on statements to September of last year an they doubled charged me every month for 6 months. So I call sling an they looked my account up an said I see you only have one account. I said exactly. My credit card reimbursed me for this month now you owe me $250 for other months. He said let me look under your name. He then states I have another account with same information but one letter off on email an there's nothing he can do but refund this month. I said my credit card already did that so your doing nothing? He said right! I called my credit card company to file dispute. Please feel free to share so people don't deal with this.

We mostly watch sports on TV. When I chose sling, I basically "went" by the reviews and comments. I had read that getting both Blue and Orange would give us good, main-stream sports coverage. I was wrong. We live 90 miles from Seattle. We got no Seattle sports and no Seattle TV stations. We got only a few NFL games a week (only rarely the Seahawks) and no U of Wa games, etc. Often we'd go on to check out some major game or sporting event, and we often didn't get it. Really bad. I think this probably varies somewhat by market, but don't sign on (like for 3 months to get the free AirTV player and antenna adapter, until you look very closely at what's offered.

I had to buy Sling TV Gift cards at Walmart/Best Buy (I only use prepaid cards that SlingTV doesn't accept) and I had to pay $9 fees to get 5 gift cards at $25 each. I opened an account picking my selection and deposited $125. A FEW SECONDS after I submitted my order I realized that I had not added the Sports Extra which was the reason why I ordered the service in the first place. Since my lineup cost $70 and I had $125 deposited in the account I thought I could add the Sports Extra but SlingTv wouldn't allow it despite my phone calls. They claim that the $125 is already used to buy service until March 20, therefore I need to come up with new money to get the Sport Extra. What kind of logic is that? I have more money in the account than a month of service but I can only buy the initial lineup with the extra credit on the account and must come up with MORE MONEY in order to buy new extras. This is the kind of corporate greed that cable companies display on a daily basis that made me cut the cord in the first place but it looks like the likes of SlingTV are as bad or even worse. I am stuck with them until March 20 and must spend another $18 to get the Sport Extra for 53 days (Yep they also prorated forward the Extra to match the money they stole in the first place.).

Be warned! Sling TV will trick you into ordering services/products that you do not want and had no intention of ordering. Their website is loaded with micro print “agreements” that you will click on locking you into bills that you cannot get out of. This company is a SCAM! They currently have a C rating on BBB with thousands of unresolved complaints. Further, Sling TV has an absolute no refund policy. It makes no difference to Sling TV if you are unhappy with your service or are tricked into ordering products/services that you do not want. The customer service is very rude and will do nothing to resolve your issue. STAY AWAY FROM SLING TV.

DO I have to give them a rating. Out of 5 Star; they get a Big Zero. You have been warned. Do NOT even give them a try. If you even miss the cancellation by a second you will be charged a full month with all their full packages and its NOT cheap. Take it from this burned customer DO NOT even try them. They advertise alacarte programming; well its not. Its packages just like all the others that we hate. They have NO local affiliations. Looks like I'm not the only one. I only wish everybody would read the reviews and put these folks out of business. You've been warned. DO NOT try them; please.

When I purchased sling tv, i was told if I purchase both Orange and Blue packages, I would be able to watch programs on multiple tv's. After a week when I got my second ROKU device, I discovered I could not play ESPN on 2 televisions as told. It is a big lie. When I called back to troubleshoot the issue, I was told that ESPN is a premium channel and only allowed on one tv. If I wanted to play it on tv's, I will have to pay for an additional service. They will not give me a refund. This is the email they sent to me: Hello Dwight, We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Currently, your account has been set to cancel at the end of your current cycle on 2/17/2018 to stop any future payments from being taken. We are unable to refund the charges on the account to your card at this time as Sling TV is a prepaid service. If you require an exchange for a defective unit, please contact Roku at support.roku.com. Please let us know if you have any further questions or comments. Sincerely, Sling TV Customer Escalations customerescalation@sling.com Oh by the way the service is also cancelled. DON'T GET LIED TO AND AVOID THEM LIKE A HURRICANE!

I signed up for a 7 day trial last Tuesday for 7 days to try Sling TV out in hopes it could replace Cable/satellite. The rep set everything over the phone, helped me get logged in and told me I had 7 days the cancel. I called today, 7 days later and requested the trial to end at this time and we would be considering asking at the beginning of year, didn’t want to overlap services (current vs. Sling). Unbeknownst to me, because I was following the conversation I had with the representative, I planned to cancel today per my conversation with her. I was told by the rep when I called around 5pm, after a long work day, that I needed to have called by 4:55pm est and that the $44 charge went through my account and would not be refunded. Obviously this did not sit well! I explained that 99.9% of trials are from the day you start to the end of the day on the last day from my experience. I explained to the rep, that was not made aware to me, and she said that an email was sent to me... mind you I received 20 from them over that week, and none had flashing lights that said “cancel your trial by 4:55pm CST to prevent being charged” Too much like good customer service right! I sent an email after realizing this was going no where. I sent my email and received a response in 30 seconds that in short, “you’re still not getting a refund and the rep told you 4:55pm when I started the service. Mind you, I told them in the email when I called today I was told that. This issue needs to be exposed because, Sling TV is obviously preying on the fact people will miss this detail when you receive over the phone help. When I clearly showed via a screen print the trial offer details to prove it does not state from 7 days from the time, it was completely dismissed as my misunderstanding, which mind you, is the reason why tried the service. There was no need for me to refer to the email when all setup details were done over the phone. Below is the reply: Hello Awri, Thank you for contacting Sling TV Support. We received your email regarding the billing issue you are experiencing and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Upon reviewing your account, we are unable to refund the charge to your credit/debit card as Sling TV is a non-refundable pre-paid service. We have however confirmed that your subscription has been set to cancel at the end of your current cycle to avoid any future charges. If you would like, you can review our Terms of Use here: “Link would not let me post” When reviewing the screenshots that you sent us that is just the terms if you were to sign up for the free trial today. That date will change tomorrow to say good until December 27, 2017. In addition in your email that you sent us you said that the agent did tell you to cancel by 4:55 PM EST. We apologize if confusion kicked in and the wrong time was written down on your calendar but the charge is valid. We are sorry to lose your business and we hope someday you may consider using our service again. You can always sign back up by logging into your account at www.sling.com/signin. Thank you for choosing Sling TV — the #1 Live TV Streaming Service So......We are throwing you under the bus because our website is not accurate, it was not explained to you when the rep set up everything for you, but we want you to consider us in the future REALLY!!!! 1. The problem is your trial offer details 2. Not calling out loud and clear by this time The root issue I have here is Customer Service This is how you lose business, not gain it!

Two days before thanksgiving this year, our Direct TV box broke. We were forced to try new technology, and I signed us up for Hulu and Sling free trials. I chose both orange and blue ($60 total) because I wasn't sure which one would have football, etc. On the 7th day, I canceled it, but they already charged my credit card the full $60. They are a "prepaid service" according to customer service and would not give me a full or partial refund. So bummed I didn't cancel earlier, even though it was the 7th day. We did not care for this, we like Direct TV much more, and pay about $60 anyway. It's just easier to go through the channels. Hulu didn't work at all for me either, I couldn't figure out how to get the football game on. Total bummer, will never return to Sling because of this, and hope my bank will remove it (but doubtful, another person posted their bank wouldn't).

COMPLAINT: Sling TV did not refund my $25.00 within the seven-day trial period. FACTS: I order the Sling Blue package on 11/23/17. I called to cancel on 11/27/17. The representative, Liz, refused to provide me a refund. PRO: The representative Liz was very polite. She was very careful to avoid directly challenging me or saying no to my request for a refund. Instead she evaded my questions and repeatedly stated I was on a prepaid plan instead of the trial period. CON: Sling TV refused to issue me a refund as a courtesy or because I was in the trial period. Even after asking to speak with the manager, Liz placed me on hold for over 45 minutes. The manager never answered. The phone line eventually disconnected. SUMMARY: Be aware their promotion may be designed to make it difficult to cancel or receive a refund if you are unhappy with Sling TV service. Sling Contact Number (English) 888-359-2407

Buyer beware!! I tried to use the SlingTV for the Free Trial. I wanted the service to stream The Walking Dead, which airs at 1AM EST in my time zone. The show was choppy and laggy as it loaded and jumped. I attempted to cancel the service but it was at 1:30 AM EST and no phone reps were available. I attempted to cancel the service online but my email and password (Same combo for my email, online accts-so no, I did not mistype or forget) was not recognized by their system. Even requested a pw reset and checked my email and even my spam folder. No email was sent. Contacted them via chat figuring that would be the quickest route. I was told that My acct. went live and I was charged that no refund could be issued. Here is the chat convo. Hello, my name is Christian. We're sorry to hear you do not want to continue your Sling TV subscription but I'm not locating an account with the email you came in with, do you have another email? Hello, Christian. Try Dxxxxxx@gmail.com, I found the account with this email - dxxxxxxx@gmail.com Tried to cancel last night but it was not accepting any of my emails. My trial is up today and I am seeing that you are already trying to charge my bank. Tried watching The Walking Dead stream last night and it was all choppy the 2 times I attempted. I would be more than glad to assist you in canceling the account. In order to further cancel your account, can you please provide the last four digits of the credit/debit card you have associated with your account? xxxx However by canceling the account today it would be at the end of your new billing cycle 11/30 because the account was not canceled within the free trial. That is because the system would not recognize my email/passwords and I requested a pw reset but it never came through which is why I am chatting with you. So I do not wish to pay for a service that I tried to cancel because it does not allow me to do the 1 thing I wanted it for. Once the payment has been made we are unable to issue a refund on the account. When registering online before submitting order you also see a message display showing the time and date the account has to be canceled to avoid any charges. Sling does take every precaution to avoid the customer from getting charged if they decide to not keep the services. I understand that you were unable to log into the account because of issues with the email and password but we do other ways to cancel the account like today you are chatting with me. Also we do have a number you can contact us or even via email. This would be the number 1-888-940-6789 Would you like me to cancel the account for you? I am in Az and we have a time diff between us and when attempting to call at 1:30AM EST since the show I was attempting to watch was on at 10PM my time. Yes cancel the acct and get me a supervisor please May I ask the reason on why you are requesting a supervisor? I certainly understand how frustrating this issue can be, but at this moment, this is a matter of policy and not necessarily authority, we all follow the same guidelines when regarding refunds. For a refund on the services that I can not use. So please get me a supervisor. Please allow me one moment. You will continue to have service until 11/30, which is the date that your account is scheduled for cancellation. You will still have access to your programming until then. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Thank you Christian. I am also copying and pasting this conversation for my review of your services and when contacting the FTC and BBB as well as my banks to file Fraud charges. Sorry that is FCC not FTC. I'm going to transfer you to my supervisor now. Thanks have a good day. :) You as well. I spoke with his sup Josue and then tried calling in to the 888 number and spoke with Kim and her Sup Brian all of who'm apologized for my troubles but would not issue a refund. I will be contacting my bank's Fraud Dept, the FCC and the BBB to file complaints.

This is the worst streaming company ever. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF, cancel before the next withdrawal, no refunds. And The excuse they use to steal your money is the terms and conditions. No customer service and they want to tell you that you should have called us about it as that is the appropriate way to handle this issue. Bull crap.. Buyer beware, Don't do it, Hulu since I have had it works grand, may buffer a second but right back on, Sling goes down for a period of hours and clearing cache and data plus calling them gets old. STAY AWAY FROM SLING, UNLESS YOU LIVE NEXT DOOR TO THEM AND YOUR FEED IS STRAIGHT FROM LEAVING RIGHT NEXT DOOR. I'M TELLING YOU THE GOSPEL TRUTH.

Like others, I also did the free week trial and it was going ok. I can see how people may like it. But after about 4 days I cancelled it. I went to Roku manage subscriptions like usual and No Sling and deleted Sling from Roku. Like I normally do without an issue. Then I end up getting billed. I'm really annoyed by both Sling and Roku about this. They need to make this more clear. I want my money back! Don't get Sling if they keep with this BS practice. It should be a free trial that automatically ends and you have to affirm that you want it to continue. And Roku needs to make this more clear too!

I have Roku TV. I visited the Sling TV web sight. It is not a true a la carte. You select the package that has the channel that you want! I signed up for the Blue so that I could get NBCSN and watch the NASCAR races. It was easy to sign up. The race was scheduled later that day, but I found out that it was blocked. I called the same day to cancel. The lady that I talked to told me that I would get a refund and that I would be able to try out Sling TV for the 30 days. A few days later I checked my bank account and did not see a refund. I called Sling TV again. This time I was told that I was paid up for the month and could not get a refund! So when I got to work I installed the Sling TV app. on my work computer. I was able to access the next weeks race at work, but still not at home on Roku. This is not a customer friendly company! Once they get your money you are not getting it back!

Do not get sling if you are looking for a way to watch sports without cable.. I had to get the most expensive 40 dollar plan in order to be able to get the channels that televise the college and nfl games I want. What they do not tell you is that when the game comes on you want to watch, it is blacked out on that channel and unavailable. I could not watch the game i wanted to last week. this week I tried to watch a game on sec network (which is not included in the 40 dollar plan) on watch espn. They tell you that you can watch that game if you pay for cable or sling and log on. after I log into sling on watch espn, I am still told that I am unable to watch the game. At least you can cancel after a month

My husband and I were on the first day of our 5 day trial. We were going back and forth between Sling and PlayStation Vue, and ended up cancelling both until we could decide. We decided, in less than an hour, and reactivated Sling. Then the hurricane hit and we have had no internet for a week. We were about to subscribe to them and even pay 3 months in advance to get the cable antenna and AirTV, when we saw that they charged our account prematurely because we stopped and then restarted the trial. So my husband calls customer service to cancel the free trial and get a refund because we didn't know when our internet would be back so we wouldn't be able to use their service. So despite the fact that we were stuck in a hurricane and left with no power or internet, despite the fact that we had reactivated our trial within 45 minutes, and despite the fact that we wanted to commit to them and cancel our DirectTV, they completely refused to refund our money. Their customer service is horrible!!!! Will NOT be subscribing to them after all!!!

This is the most unethical and sketchy streaming service. Since they do not offer "refunds" or notify customers you are auto-billing. I will continue to leave bad feedback on every platform I can. I never received an email stating my free 2 week trial was up but noticed on my bank account today that I had a pending charge, I immediately went online to cancel the subscription and I contacted CS. They told me since it was processed YESTERDAY on their end they could not offer me a refund. If other companies like Amazon are able to issue you a refund when you cancel Amazon Prime right away, Sling TV can issue a refund a day after since I only signed up for the free trial for the fight.

This is for SLING TV Pay Per View. I am customer with 3 years and have never subscribed for any Pay per view. But today 9/7/17 I got an email from SLING mentioning that I have purchased pay per view program for Canelo vs. Golovkin fight which is on Sept 16., 2017. My credit card statement shows charge of $86.18. The pay per view is display directly under Guide and main channels and anyone can mistakenly click it. I spoke to customer care and they were rude and clearly said they cannot refund money even if program is in future. The user interface changes every other day and Sling TV displays pay per view with main channels and any one and click it by mistake. This is easy way of charging extra bucks.

BEWARE OF 7 DAY FREE TRIAL THAT YOU CANCEL IN 7 DAYS AND IT STILL COSTS YOU $24.99!!!!!! YOU HAVE TO BE FRICKIN KIDDING ME.... So, I have been trying to cut the Direct TV cord for awhile. I have a bunch of furnished rental houses and provide the cable/dish service. I did the 7 day trial to see what it was like. In general, I would say just OK. A lot of renters are older folks so they would have NO idea how to deal with the user interface and toggle their way around...forget it. I dont think it will work but I wanted to give it a try. ANYWAY, NOW HERE IS THE RUB. I did a 7 day trial. Of course you have to give them your credit card and are told you will be billed after free trial expires. Easy enough to set up. I had phone number to call to cancel. It is labor day weekend and I dont have internet but I have my phone. On day 7 I called to cancel in the morning. They tell you your wait time is OVER 10 minutes. NOT, the first time I called I was holding for 30 minutes. I hang up. The second time I call in the afternoon I am on hold over 20 minutes. I hang up. NOW, I am doing this all while out of town with two small kids under 5 years old....SO, finally at 7:30 pm after kids are in bed I call and get through after 35 minutes. I cancel. I tell my frustration to the customer service and get the blah blah blah. I am NOT told at that point I will be charged. Why would I be charged. This is a FREE 7 day trial. SO, next day I get home and check my bank account statements as I normally do after a holiday....and LOW AND BEHOLD I am charged $24.99 by Sling TV yesterday after I cancelled yesterday. SO, I call thinking there was an error. I tell the customer service rep there must be an error as I called yesterday. NO, he tells me not an error. If I wanted to cancel my 7 day free trial I had to do so by 2:10 pm on Sept 2, 2017 instead of when I called which was 7:25 pm on Sept 2, 2017. I say, "you are joking." He says no that is their policy . They are a pre-paid company and NO monies can be refunded. I explain that I called THREE times and the long wait times and he tells me I could have used the internet. I told him I was out of town and internet was not available but my phone was. I ask to speak with Christine, his supervisor in Texas at operator number YON. She tells me same thing. She tells me same song and dance about being a prepaid company and no monies can ever be refunded. I ask for information about their CEO, Roger Lynch, and Christine tells me when I signed up for the free trial I also signed off rights to a class action or some such thing. I have no idea what she was even talking about. I asked Christine, "are you trying to convert people away from the competitors or just trying to piss them off. Because, you have certainly made me really angry." So, that is where I left it with my "NOT SO FREE, FREE TRIAL" that just cost me $24.99 for 7 days.

I cancelled my account 3 months ago and got and email confirmation on doing so... I just checked my bank account and out of nowhere sling decided to take key out of my account even tho it has been "cancelled" and I couldn't even log into my account again once I found out. I had to call and be put on hold for hours just for them to cancel it again, because apparently it is that hard just to cancel and account. When I let the employee know I had cancelled he simply said it shows as an "active" account and did not even bother to look into the issue. After an hour of holding he finally cancelled my account (yet again) and had the nerve to laugh at my response for not willing to answer their survey over the phone... don't fall for their scam: not even the greatest streaming and have even worse customer service.

On Saturday 29 , by mistake my dad click on mayeweather McGregor fights at 8:06 AM, I have parent controls on still it charged me. We never follow any sport. I noticed charge on my card for fight and I called them in next hour, customer services hang out on me, I tried multiple time and one of the CS informed there was glitch in system and people are reporting the same issue for refund, today I got email from their Billing that they couldn't refund, it's worst pathetic and very unprofessional tv subscription provider, its better to pay other provider to value our money and CS services. Specially their CS are from Mexico and they barely understand the issue. Worst provider on the earth

I paid $100 to watch "The Money Fight" live last night on my Amazon Fire Tv; however I never got the chance because the channel never appeared for me to watch! I called several times to get some assistance with my issue no one ever answered due to high call volumes (due to the same issue), however someone did pick up the phone only to hang up in my face. I called this morning to report my issue by stating that; although the fight was non-refundable, those terms are debatable if I never received what I paid for and that I was robbed of both the live experience and the product. Yet all they could do was apologize...so as a first time customer I can say that I'm EXTREMELY upset and unsatisfied with their business and I won't be doing any business with them EVER again!

The service is ok but not great. Saw it at a restaurant and signed up to use it at home. We never seemed to get the important games or things we really wanted to watch except for a couple. My biggest problem with this is their billing policy. My billing cycle vegan and ended on the 14th of every month. When I was ready to cancel the service, I cancelled on the 14 around 3pm and immediately got an email saying my service would end on the 14th of the following month. I contacted customer service and was informed that their policy is no refunds and they had billed me an hour before I cancelled for the new month. I asked for a supervisor and he insisted on the same. They were not ride but very unyielding to reason.

Website did not record my cancellation resulting in 8 months of charges I did not catch. When the error was noticed I again attempted to cancel online and again, it did not process. Had to call and manually have my subscription cancelled even though it clearly states you can cancel online by hitting "cancel my subscription". They state it is a non refundable service when I tried to resolve the issue. Stated they knew I did not use the service in the 8 months (clearly believing I had cancelled it). Say there is NOTHING they can do, still. Sherry, asked to verify cc information, when I said I was not comfortable with this she stated that she could see my entire credit card number and if she wanted to steal from me she would.

First off I started a free 7 day trial . I got charged for a whole month the following day . This should have been a red flag but we needed the service and really looked forward to it . Fast forward a month to 7-30-17 . I was surprised that Sling charged my card for August . I was told they bill the same day if the month you signed up . I need to know when I'm being billed . It should not be a guessing game. A lot of people love pay check to pay check . That 56 bucks was my gas money . Anyway I called and aske to cancel and to get a refund . Keep in mind they bill for the month ahead and it is pre pay . It was July 30th with 2 days till August . They would not reverse it . The robot behind the phone kept stating over and over it was prepay . Well exactly! And I don't want it for August so refund me my money! Well they would not . So I told the guy(robot) behind the phone that I will be contacting my bank and disputing the charge . My bank reversed it for me at no charge to me immediately. My advice to people (besides the obvious of not getting services from Sling ) is to dispute your charge with your bank if you can . My situation was such that I could . Don't let them bully you and don't use the service. Very disappointed in the same commercials over and over . And I mean they play the same three every ten minutes if your not watching the live tv . Also the commercials are 50 times louder than your program . I could barely hear my programs then the commercials would blast and make my tv rattle. Horrible customer service and money sharks preying on us customers like we are idiots!

I signed up for the 7 day free trial last Sunday and cancelled this past Sunday, 7/23. Because I didn't cancel to the hour, I was billed 64.95 even after receiving an email saying my trial was successfully ended and I no longer have access to Sling Tv. After emailing requesting a refund, "they" (as I don't know who I was talking to because all the signature says is "Sling Support") told me they don't do refunds only can credit my account for future service and noted that I cancelled a few hours after I originally signed up. Terrible business policy - I can understand if I was a day late, but canceling the day of and still being charged, NOT ACCEPTABLE and is a SCAM. Totally unnecessary stress added to my day, and rest assured after this experience I will never consider getting services and will relay to friends, family, and reviews online that this type of policy is NOT OK.

I previously had a 30 day free trial under Amazon's Fire stick with Sling and I wish I would have never even signed up. I previously cancelled my subscription with them last week (knowing my subscription ends today) and I still got a charge for $43. As soon as I saw this on my credit card statement, I called customer service and spoke to an Adrienne who couldn't help me with a refund so I asked for the manager, Shomari instead. He kept repeating to me over and over again that this is under the terms of service. I dont understand how they can charge me for a service with poor video quality, lagging, and something that I don't plan on using in the future. Any other respectable company would refund the customer if theyre not happy with the service nor are interested in keeping it. It makes no sense to me. They say they're a pre-paid service but I called the same day that they charged me for a new cycle to get this disputed and they couldn't refund. What pisses me off the most is the fact that I cancelled this online and am still getting screwed over by this. DO NOT subscribe to this service!!

Signed up for the 7 day free trial. Tried to watch two live events and the service froze repeatedly so I missed the events. Tried to watch recorded shows. Neither worked, couldn't stream. I can stream on every other app and platform. I called for troubleshooting and it didn't help at all. I cancelled within the trial period. I was charged $39.98. I contacted customer service and supervisors repeatedly. Agents and supervisors blamed me for the entire issue. They provide no recourse or escalation. SlingTV takes your money and doesn't give it back. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission.

I like the fact that the service mashes together two of the best streaming types; the channel lineup of cable tv and the functionality of netflix or hulu. But its cumbersome to use and it doesn't actually function well. The On Now screen works 10% of the time. It just won't load. Customer Service is horrendous. Their answer to everything is "i'm sorry for the inconvenience but that's out of our control." Updating your episodes and actually sending the Roku's people ordered is NOT out of their control. The on-demand shows update whenever they feel like it. Sometimes it's the day after the show aired and sometimes it's weeks after and the season has ended. It's what they're doing with Doctor Who right now. Part 1 of season finale aired but they still don't have that or the ep before that available. This also happened with The Magicians. When the finale was finally available, it was only up a couple of days and then the whole season was gone. And some of the shows are showing at there but the system won't let you view them. It's error code after error code for days. If you're looking for on-demand services or even consistent viewing services, do not pick Sling. It's hit or miss with a whole lotta chances to miss.

Horrible policies and customer service. Signed up for 7-day trial. On the last day I tried to log in to cancel, but the website wasn't working. I called. I was told that my trial had expired at 2:11 that afternoon and that I'd been charged and nothing could be done about it. I then talked to a supervisor, who also said nothing could be done. Plus the service is bad. The image froze often while streaming and even went black sometimes. Friends had signed up to watch the NBA finals, but were unable to watch the first game because of an issue with ESPN3 - but there was no message on the website or on the company voice mail.

The quality of the service is terrible. You will be more upset watching this than watching nothing. I have a gigabit internet connection in my house and the channels with Sling TV seldom work. Transmission gets stopped all the time and image resolution is sub par. Customer service is rude and useless. And, on top of that, their website is terrible and didn't capture my cancellation request. When I saw the new charge and requested a refund they denied and forced me to dispute the charge through my credit card. Never using this service again. I will also ensure that all people I know are aware of their poor services.

Heres the comment I left them: I have never in my life had a worse experience with customer service. Yes that's a period. Your rep told me the day I called, which was the day I signed up that he would cancel my account. He said we could retry the service when you finally had the local games I was trying to watch. He didn't cancel my service. Your rep today said per the TOS the money you took, without permission would not be returned. This is an asanine and abusive practice. He kept talking in circles as I'm certain he was trained to. And I hoped there might be a survey to convey my disappointment, but he wouldn't hang up. I will be telling everyone at every turn that not only do you lack programming of interest, but your unreasonable and not worth the attempt. Luckily there are countless companies that do what you do, because what sets you apart in my eyes is how little you value consumers.

I thought I cancelled my subscription. We never used it after Walking Dead on AMC went off air. Then I see a charge this month for it, and so I reached out to them to explain, I thought I cancelled my subscription in April and asked for a refund, because I seriously will not use it. He referred me to a link to cancel (why would you have a cancellation option on your chat feature, if you're just going to provide a link for the customer to do it themselves? It was a waste of my time). I might as well throw the $25 down the drain, or flush it in the toilet. And their customer service wasn't apologetic at all. They didn't try to remedy the situation. Other companies go above and beyond, and Sling is not one of them. For example, one time I signed up for Amazon prime, a long time ago. And my free trial was up, and I was charged. I contacted them that day, letting them know, I totally forgot about my trial, and really needed to cancel. Well, they cancelled my prime membership and refunded my money! How great is that!! I don't suggest signing up for Sling, unless you like throwing way your hard earned cash and dealing with less than mediocre service.

Worst TV application ever, I only subscribed to watch IPL games and i needed only one device to watch that, I cromecast it to tv and it takes as multiple devices. Cromecast is not streaming device or tv it is device to cast the same thing on the tv, but after 30 min or 45 min the streaming on the cromecast suddenly stopped and then it will not resume to any device on that day. even if I switch the TV off and log off and logging again to the sling aap, it keeps complaining that it is running on other device and will not run on it. Menu guid is also not user friendly, live streaming option disappear and if you want to watch live you need to follow the complex steps to get to the program.

FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOR YOUR REFUND. I got charged on the last day of my 7 day trial after the website failed to process my cancellation. I searched high and low on the website for a customer service phone number, which was nowhere to be found on the website. Instead, the website led me to send an email to cancel. I sent an email before my trial was over,l regarding the website issues, yer never heard back. A few days later, I had to Google the phone number for customer service (as the phone number is almost impossible to find easily on their website). The first customer service rep informed me they received my email, yet I should've canceled by calling in if the website wasn't working. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, who reported he saw NO history of an email being sent and I should've called customer service to cancel. I told him the prior agent told me if saw my email, however the supervisor said no such email exists and he would confront the prior agent about giving false information. What reason did the other agent have for lying about seeing my prior email? The supervisor notified me no refunds are given for any reasons. I asked to speak with any other departments that would help, however he stated he was the only one I could speak with. Obviously, I didn't accept this and promptly filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Once I filed my complaint with the BBB, lo and behold, I find out that Sling TV has a Customer Service Escalations department, which the supervisor told me did not exist. They provided my full refund. Never subscribing to a company that lies to customers and makes it difficult for them to resolve problems. Steer clear of Sling TV and their fraudulent business model!

We had a 2 month free trial of Sling. We bought the chromecast device to use it, but found the interface a little difficult to navigate, and often the shows had a hard time loading or poor streaming quality (don't have this problem with Prime or Netflix). We only used it a handful of times during the first 2 wks of our 2 month trial, and didn't care for it. So, I set an "alarm" in my phone to cancel on the day our subscription ended (in case we wanted to try it more, because if you cancel during your trial it ends the day you cancel and does not continue your trial). Cancelled and then realized we had been charged effective the last day of the trial. Chatted with customer service. They said they "bill to the minute" that we started our subscription and I cancelled after the time I started my subscription. I was told they do not offer refunds, and the representative immediately disconnected me from our chat after giving me that explanation.

I was sent a free 2 month subscription to sling tv in December for a purchase I made thru amazon.somehow they enrolled me in amazon prime twice. after a good deal of detective work I finally found and called amazon prime and had those credited back. I had no idea that sling tv had also signed me up for 2 different accounts. I cancelled the one account prior to the end date of the subscription. since I had no idea about the other account, I was charged for 2 months. when I called sling tv, I was told that they could see where I cancelled the service, and they couldn't find another account. I had to give them my credit card account number for them to find the other account which they said had not been active, but since the charge had already been applied to my card there was nothing they could do, and I would have to take that up with my credit card company.luckily my card credited the charges and put it down as fraud.

Their commercial volume is not limited to match programming. All too often, the volume of the commercials blasts me to the point of muting breaks to avoid angering the neighbors of my apartment complex. I also wonder how they get around the FCC rules for volume level that all broadcast stations must go through to verify that the volume is within a defined tolerance. If the commercials that are blasting are inserted by others, they should still be held to the same standard. I exchanged Comcast/Xfinity cable service with internet for Roku Sling TV streamed on Xfinity internet. The regularity of the poor audio maintenance is making me regret my choice. I also am disappointed by the poor on demand playback. Too often, the playback stalls during a commercial break. I either have to go to another show option to clear the player, then resume the stalled program or restart the Roku box.

My husband and I were shopping around for a cheaper option for our cable and we decided to give sling tv a call as we seen the commercials on tv. Well,....after answering our questions, my husband tells the rep that we would like to think about it and weigh our options. The rep decides to ask, "What is there to think about?" My husband answered telling him that we are concerned about our internet speeds and that we would have to consider that factor before agreeing to the terms, (which we did not yet have). Long story short, the rep offered the 7 day free trial and attempted to obtain our credit card information. Of course you NEVER give our credit card information over the phone when you haven't read into something, ESPECIALLY something that is supposed to be considered **free**. My husband politely declined several times and the rep continued to push and push until my husband had to get firm and slightly rude with the rep. Moral of the story, if the customer service sucks, so will the product. Needless to say they gain and lost our business in the same phone call. (haha)

It seems that a company that is going to be a national or worldwide service ought to step up to the plate and act like a competent organization. First order was to receive a Roku Premier with 3 months paid in advance and a 7 to ten day delivery. Well 14 days later the Roku streaming stick showed up. Called Sling CS and asked where the Roku premier might happen to be, but received a "Oh we are so sorry for your inconvenience let us fix that ". After spending 45 minutes on the phone to get the problem resolved in the short easy method, I was assured the new device was on its way. Well, 7 days later with no confirmation of shipment of new device, guess what let's call CS again. Well after another 10 minutes on hold and a CS agent who did not seem to be able to answer the question as to where the Roku might be and of course give the typical CS, BS "Oh we are so sorry let me fix that". After another 20 minutes on the phone and no answer to the solution of the problem, I said enough is enough and cancelled Sling TV. Now just before leaving the call I was asked to participate in a CS survey, so I did. When you select the option for feedback to Sling TV the line hangs up. Another great example of great CS by a company that is great at taking your money but short on providing their part.

I ordered the basic (orange) service for my football games. Then, I noticed that the channel I watch was on the upgraded package. I contacted cs & was assured I kept my current stations but also got the other channel(s). I upgraded. Next day, I missed my game. The "upgrade" takes your sports channels away. So, I contact cs again & get the orange+blue, which "includes all available channels offered". 2 weeks later, I miss my game. Considering it is listed as a Sling channel, I contact cs again...it is an extra, but "for just $10". It is difficult to use & cs is of no real help. Regardless of what they tell you there is always $10 or $15, $20, or $25 more to get what you got the stupid service for to begin with. I have spent more time talking to customer service than I have actually watching this stupid thing. I definitely do not recommend it nor will I renew next month!

Tried taking advantage of 7-day promotion, and selected the "orange & blue" premium package. Entered my credit card information. Afterwards, signed on multiple times via app and online. Interface does not show any TV channels. Tried entering my credit card info again, but same problems. Concerned that I may be double-charged. Went to the cancellation instructions on the site, but the site doesn't properly navigate you to any cancellation option. I suspect this is a deceptive customer retention ploy to make it difficult for customers to cancel their subscription. I've been attempting to resolve this issue for appx 1.25 hours to no avail. On hold with customer service now to cancel. Pretty sure I'll be talking to a rep in India or the Philippines further frustrating my experience. Overall, I earnestly give this unacceptable service a well-deserved zero rating.

hard to believe that Sling won those awards. At best, it is a mediocre product with lots of glitches, hangs, buffering delays, and resolution fluctuations. Every update or new interface increases the incidents of that nature. Heavily watched events, like sports, especially live, are particularly vulnerable to thses problems. Calling customer support is a hoot. No help and will alwys blame your internet provider and/or wireless connection, even after you tell them that all other devices and apps ( Netflix, Amazon, AppleTV, etc) are working flawlessly. I will switch when a reliable competitor arises. Hate time warner too much to go back to cable, but like cable, Sling is big on PR & advertising, but weak on infrstructure and innovation and quality engineering.
