If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't go with solar city and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I was told I would be saving a lot of money and that I would break even at the very least. I don't consider a $1200.00 bill at the end of the year breaking even. They can fix this by adding another system at my cost!

My husband had Solar City installed, recommended by a friend. I has been terrible. Now we pay a large Electric Bill and a Bill from Edison as well. I would really like to get out of the contact. My spouse is 82 years old and I am retired. Solar City is eating up our budget.

1. I was falsely promised a guaranteed 40% savings minimum. 2. I was NEVER told about the HUGE "true up bill" that I would receive each year. This is even after I kept asking about potential "hidden fees". 3. My home was NOT covered with panels to maximize my usage /savings. 4. The customer service is the WORST I have ever dealt with.

There were some small problems with the instillation, to be expected, but over all our experiences with this company have been very good.

They left screws protruding out the side of the exposed 2x4 frame work of the patio overhang when attaching the support work from above. Quality control was not apparent in this installation.

Grid under performs since day one. I am paying more for electricity after converting to Solar City. Salesman did not tell the truth. Company denies everything. When unable to defend customer service makes up a response;. Worst decision in a long time.

Terrible Company! Misrepresentation of Billing / Net Metering. Inaccurate Value - Paying more now than prior to Solar. Slow, Slow, Slow, installation and approval of System Sloooooooooooow Hookup to Utility Misrepresentation of Payment to Utility Customer Service is Terrible, put up a good front but where it counts Do Nothing!

Don't bother asking for a price if your building a new home! They require you to wait for first bill before talking to you. How do you make a decision on appliances if you don't know cost of the solar. Rude sales rep on top of it

Told my system would produce 80% of use, yet later told the system was guaranteed to produce 60% of my use. Contact person often changes. Monitoring devise has problems and on one occasion, the technician had to repair the system as it shut off and was not producing energy. System is 13 months old.

Customer service at Solar City is the worst. They have rude customer service agents. Pricing at Solar City has almost the same price as getting electricity form the department of water and power.

Billing does not keep up with the new computer changes to the customer. Fails that automatic payment has been delayed . Then wants a large payment with a number of different totals in one conversation. . Very Poor. Even people who work for them say the dame Poor Billing dept.

Service is TERRIBLE, I submit the form to them, after 3 weeks I called to follow up, Sunpower said they still waiting for SCE to approve so I Call SCE, they never receive any submission from Sunpower, I call back to Sunpower to push them to submit to SCE. Sunpower submit to SCE same day and SCE approve on Next day.

After over a year and a half of emailing about under-production, there is no way the system will deliver what was promised. Now, they say they will review after 2 years and see IF they will be sending me a check. 1st yr 2733kWh expected/ 2590kWh guaranteed/ only 2418kWh delivered

Stay away from these people, worst company ever. Fought with them for 2 years to fix the 7 ft X 4 ft hole in my living room ceiling. Finally tired of the crap and settled agreeing to have panels removed and contract of 20 years cancelled w/ $5,000.00. Cost to us with lawyer fees of $11,500.00. $6,500.00 loss. very crappy install!

I would never had thought that dealing with solar city they don't back their products my roof leak after they installed the panels I call them they told me to hire a roofer another time I asked them to come and clean the panels they said do it yourself I am disabled they said they didn't care I wish I never dealt with them

misguided the original customer and installed an underpowered system 4k instead of 6k. Won't allow any changes to account even adding more panels or replacing with updated product. Consistently bad experience with all customer service reps.

THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I CALLED BECAUSE MY BILL WENT UP ALMOST 100%, I TRY TO GET AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS AND AN ASSOCIATE CALLED PAGE REPEATED OVER AND OVER THE SAME ANSWER. WHICH WAS THAT MY ISSUE IS WITH THE DWP NOT THIS THEM. WHICH I NKOW IS NOT TRUE, BECAUSE THE SOLAR CITY IS THE ONE TO REPORT THE SOLAR/ELECTRICITY USAGE TO DWP.

These guys have the worst customer service ever. It is impossible to receive help if your system has a problem. Their product does not operate properly and you have to watch your hours as they are not reported properly. The sales guys and install crew-fantastic

I have been unsuccessful ....The workers have been great to deal with...NOT so with Cust Svc which has given me a runaround..Be careful with this company....

These guys have no idea how to install a thermostat that they sell, it is ridiculous I was on the phone with the thermostat manufacturer for hours and needed another wire installed, obviously they don't test the wires or the function of the device, even though they told me they tested it, because it did not work at all from the start.

They lied about everything and put the system on my roof and I found out that now the roof has to be replaced. I'm a 66 year old disabled person and this has been turned over to an attorney. Solar City was just slapping them on without a roof inspection to increase subscribers to push its sale to Tesla.

Damaged roof and won't repair. I have been contacting or trying to get this taken care of and they say it's not their fault and won't fix. I had a roofing company come out and review and they said it was definitely the solar company that damaged roof. I sent that report and pictures and they still say not their fault!,,

Buyer beware. this company lies and is deceitful. I purchased a system that was supposed to generate enough power for my house and am still stuck paying Edison and Solar city. YOU WILL NOT SAVE A DIME. I am seeking a lawyer to sue their butts. this is utter bs.

Agreement is fraudulent and confusing, they will mention in the contract that the average monthly payments are low but actually it is only for one year. After a year your monthly payment will be more than double almost tripled.

damage done to roof while being installed. roof was preinspected before install and everything was good. company claimed pre-existing damage and would not replace. it would cost more to sue than replacing it myself , so thats what i did .

Don't do it! I pay more now for energy then before Solar City. They cornered me - said I'd owe them $2000.-+ if I didn't go through with the install (after the initial design process started). Be careful. I'm sure there are better options available..

so far its been negative because both sales people I met with said they could set me up 90 to 100% of my usage and both times when the plan was drawn up it was like 50 to 60% of my electrical use so I have not moved forward> I want to but my experience has not been good so far

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. And because they are so big, they don't seem to worry about it. Be very concerned because before the contract, they suck. From what I've read here, after the contract they really suck! We were good to go but a phantom rate change and lack of communication made us back out. Bad news people, bad news!

This score is based on their customer service. I purchased my house with the solar installed. It has been 7 months now and they still can not get my billing straightened out. They had the old owner name on it till month 6th. But now I can not see my bill. I have brought this to their attention many times and still it has not been fixed.

The system inverter has error state 241 . I called up solar city . They schedule to fix the system for one week take note one week before they fix the inverter. What you think is this reliable? They don't have immediate response to fix the system. Solar customer like me is upset of how they response.

I am Solarcity customer. When the sale person talked to me about installing solar system, I was told that it is to deinstall and reinstall solar system if I need to replace my roof. Now I want to replace the roof, SolarCity will charge me $475. My story indicates that words from SolarCity may not be meaningful. i

Horrible company. Price gouging, lying about leasing being cheaper than purchasing, lying about the substandard equipment they use. Lies around every corner. And the worst part is that you are locked into 20 year contracts after you learn you've been duped. Stay away...

We can't use our system yet we don't know when we can haven't heard from anyone in 3 weeks. Was supposed to be done by summer now it's fall and notjing. I'm getting pretty fed up with the whole deal

Poor service, cheap panels, long waits, agressive sales people, long confusing contracts that do not benefit the home owner. These guys give the solar industry a bad reputation. You are better off hiring your local, experienced solar contractor that actual care.
