Based on the feasibility study of the solar panels and the attached shading report, it appears the system would produce no worse than 1,400 kilowatt hours per panel on an annual basis. But as you can see from the other attached screenshot, this system only produced about 584 kilowatt hours in July, which should be a peak-producing month for these panels. That equates to only about 58 kilowatt hours per panel. Even under optimistic assumptions, such as the panels producing the same every month (which is not true due to winter or days with limited sunlight), the panels would only produce 700 kilowatt hours per year, which is just under half of the production estimated in the shading report. The total cost was about $13,000, and if we assume the system does produce the optimistic amount listed above at 700 kilowatt hours per year per panel, that’s 7,000 kilowatt hours per year at a rate of roughly $0.08 per panel—only about $560 per year. Before any tax incentives, that would take about 23 years to recover the initial costs of these panels. This is a very different reality than what was presented in the marketing materials, which showed a payback period of about nine years, as you can see from the attachments. After a call with Ion Solar, I was told my panels are operating near 100% efficiency. If that’s the case, it seems clear that the expected annual production of these panels is known, so it feels misleading and borderline unethical to present production figures in the marketing materials and proposals that insinuate cost savings significantly greater than what will actually occur. Hence my frustration—had I known the true output of the panels, there’s no way I would have pursued this endeavor.

I thought the person giving me the sales pitch was accurate in explaining the benefits of solar. I thought what he told me would help the environment and cut me off the grid.

This was a very slow process in getting everything completed. I told Ion Solar that I worked night shift & had to sleep during the day. They woke me up almost daily with what seemed like millions of phone calls & text messages. I finally had to be rude to them to get my point across about not texting or calling until later in the afternoons but I guess they already forgot. Still waking me up. I’d sure think twice before doing this again🥱🥱

Well I advised Ion that we have a home owners association that requires any structural changes to be submitted to them first and they stated they were aware and would send the plans to the homeowners association and now a year and half later I have been fined hundreds of dollars because that was never done. According to them. I can no longer pull the plans and have contacted ion but haven't gotten a response. In addition, I was told I got state tax breaks but I am unable to get the state tax breaks because I need a certificate of installation to provide to the state and have emailed and requested help getting that and have never received a response. It seems like customer service is great prior to installation, but then gone after

They were responsive during the install process and up until I got my system going, but once I started having trouble with the tax on stuff as far as getting my credit in my state they were less than responsive and they kept telling me they couldn't help me with this and they couldn't fill that out. And I feel like there could have been some process improvement to make it easier on the customer as far as the state tax burden. They did decent job installing, plus the installers are great.

It's been working without problems so far. It went really well. During the peak season, it great. But during the winter right now and there are a lot of cloudy days here, I don't think I have enough panels or I'm not generating enough electricity, because I still have to pay $30-$40 to my electric company.

After installation the customer support basically goes away. Installation was great. It was timely. So far, no issues with the equipment. They need to listen more to the customers about output needed versus what they think you need.

I was very excited to get solar panels as I had them installed on. my home in Arizona and saw wonderful benefits. I still believe solar is important for the environment but I am not seeing the savings I thought I would yet but we will see what happens in the summer. Right now not great with savings.. I was told to use a refund program for solar and that I would give that to Mosaic to lower my costs but when I called to ask question about this for tax purposes I was sent the contract to send to my CPA so not happy about that. Still not sure what to do if the refund comes through. More support after solar is put in should be considered by the company.

The process with ION started out really great. We did have questions about possibly upgrading our voltage when we added the panels and they never got back to us about their in-house bid, despite calling and emailing multiple times. We did move forward with the solar panel installation though. However, despite getting 3 panels more than the basic recommendation for our current usage, we are still paying our normal electrical bill on top of the Solar Panel loan. I’m not convinced that there are actually producing as much as ION projected the would in the spot that they chose. I tried reaching out to them again, but I get lost in voice mails. It’s like once they’re done the umbilical cord is cut and you’re done.

We had 5 different installers install our system. Then there were problems, i.e. wrong electrical was on the schematic and it had to go back to the drawing board to get approved. One guy started installing panels and it got dark. Said he would be back. Found out he was from out of state. 4 more installers came out until the install was complete. Then there was a loose wire and various other things. They changed project managers. The first was a guy I think they got rid of. He was just all talk. When Lyn F was put on the job things started happening. I personally called the town of Deer Trail and arranged the inspection which was today. It was approved so hopefully it will be up and running soon.

Unfinished business. The sales team and installers wooed me in the beginning. They were very informative, helpful, courteous, and on time during the begining process. (I would've rated them higher) However, once the installation was completed, and all the city inspections were completed, ION failed to complete the repairs process as they promised. I've had 5 or 6 broken appointments (by ION) to repair the ceiling in my shed. They cut out a portion of it during the installation process in order to drop lines to the power boxes. My system has been up and running since January but ION still hasn't fixed it. Frank, the repairman was horrible. Every time I had an appointment set he promised to come but either I got a call from him or someone from the office giving me excuses as to why he couldn't come to do the repairs. A 3rd party Rep was sent out once and they said they couldn't do it because it was a 2-man job. Being that it was a weekend day, he couldn't find anyone to come help him. I have made several desperate attempts to get this resolved by contacting the Sales Closer, Brandon, the Project Manager, Dominique, and left a voice-mail for the Area Supervisor. I called the local Hampton number provided and the Customer Service Rep said all the Supervisors were in a meeting and one of them would call me back later. No one ever returned my call. I saw a ION vehicle in the neighborhood so I stopped to talk to him - pleading for help. He took my name and number and sent a message to a Supervisor (supposedly) and said I should hear from someone within 2 days. I never heard from anyone. I am disappointed and displeased with the way I've been treated. Since ION is basically ignoring me and refusing to repair what they "damaged", ION is causing me to consider taking legal action. I hate that our relationship has come to this but my patience has run out.

The communication was decent up until installation and the installationwent smoothly. Once that happened, I have had constant issues getting updates. My project coordinator, Nick, completely ignored my texts and calls. I had to call multiple times to the general customer support to find out what was causing delays. My new projector coordinator, Kaylee, reached out Jan 23rd to see if I had questions about my utilities inspection scheduled for 1/30 but never responsed to my texts or messages left on her number. My scheduled inspection was canceled but I was not notified of the cancelation until Feb 7th when they were trying to reschedule, which was set up for Feb 17th. Kaylee finally reaches out again on Feb 14th, again asking if I had questions about the next steps. I didnt bother asking anything since they NEVER respond. The 2/17 inspection was canceled the day before due to an employee quitting. We are now scheduled for 2/28 (will this one be canceled, too?) Meanwhile, i have had my panels up since November and am now paying on a loan for a non-working system!

Have been in a signed deal with them for almost a year now and still haven't finished the install (missing critter guards due to snow) or turned the system on (due to Excel dragging their feet). However I had a project manager with Ion who didn't respond or reach out for a month twice during the process. I've also been told different things about the waiting for the system to be turned on by several people. Just feels like the communication between departments at Ion is mediocre at best. I'm at the point now that I kind of wish I had explored other companies. ****The crews who have physically done the work at my house were top notch though, only reason the review isn't lower stars!****

Like : Installation and followup with customer was on prompt. Dislike : doing their due diligence to follow up with Duke, there were days the request was pending for more than a month because they did not follow up on something with Duke. Installer said the daily production can be seen on the Ion app, did not see this until right to operate was issued. It felt like they got the money as the loan paid them and washed the hands off. Project co-ordinator someone named Michelle, did not bother to call at all, nor provided any updates. This was mentioned during installation that the next steps, project co-ordinator will reach out and update.

If an ion solar representatives solicits your home, ok would recommend having them come back later when you have had a chance to do some solar homework. Our salesman came out and made everything sound really good. We were brand new residents to our home and have not had a chance t ok assess our bills yet and we made a rash decision, based on his sales tactics. If I had a salesman from several different companies right there at the same time, it might have made more sense to let them argue out their points and their prices. Right now, I am feeding the grid and the grid feeds me back. If I produce more than I eat, I only have to pay an ion solar bill. I do not get a solar credit from my electric company, nor does anyone pay me for making extra electricity. (Bum deal if you ask me). If I use more electric than my panels make, I get a bill from ion and I get a bill from my electric company too. Ion will call and text you constantly until your solar install is complete, so that they can ensure that their system is installed in a timely manner. This becomes irritating if you run into any problems with an HOA. All in all, I wish I had a better option that allowed me to make money from the panels. The installation crew didn't fully pick up their mess before they left the job site, even after being reminded the mess was there, they only came back and picked up half of it.

Overall very happy but unresolved damage issues disappoint I’ve been using my new solar panels for a few weeks and love them. They have been working without any issues so far. ION definitely has their process down for getting these installed quickly and efficiently. They provide an app for easy tracking of the entire 10 step process and were always quick to respond. The sales team was very friendly and were happy to talk and answer questions with no obligations or pressure. One hiccup in the process was from the preliminary inspector who did not relay information to the team who was doing the install. The electrical box was not on an exterior wall so the work order changed which meant they needed the design to be approved which delayed the install for a week. The install went smoothly and the workers were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. Unfortunately they brought a giant bucket lift to help get panels onto the roof and damaged the driveway. The lift was overkill and so heavy it cracked the driveway in several places. I was told several times any damage to the property would be repaired but it has been a couple of months now with no one getting back to me. There is still one final inspection to take place so maybe they are waiting for that. All of the inspections take a while but that’s out of their control. The payment plan is reasonable and I’m hoping the panels will be paying for themselves very soon. ION Solar has a lot of experience in other states so I felt comfortable going with them. If they fix the damage caused by the lift I would 100% recommend them.

I’ll get to the point, the communication is lacking regards to the actual panels that were installed. We asked for a clean design, Ion Solar did NOT live up to what they promised as far as placement. The initial placement draft was shown to us, at that time we requested a different placement as we wanted a little more organization. So, Anthony R presented a more cleaner design, which we agreed on. Well, they installed neither of the two!! We are have lots of patience, but still, to this day, we haven’t heard anything from Ion Solar about this. We feel that that are taking their time, hoping we will forget about the placement and move on!! We spent a LOT of money on these panels. Everything else with ION has been pleasant, but this is soo disappointing in a company to do this to a customer!! Please keep an eye on the installation!!! I hope this is not happening regularly!!

Ion was initially quick to answer and return calls and come to the house to help me. Once I decided to go with them and signed the contract, I was unable to reach them via phone again and none of my several voicemails were returned. I had questions about the contract and documents I was signing but had to rely on a friend for help who is also a customer. In addition to nonexistent support, the installation team failed the inspection, which meant they had to come back and try again. They told me the inspector who works for my local community was unreasonable so I offered to call the city for them to give them feedback...When they realized I would go to bat for them, the team changed their tune and asked me not to do that and they partially took responsibility for failing the inspection. 2 of my 15 panels produce about 40% less energy than the rest. Otherwise the system seems to be working well.

We selected Vision after talking to 4 other solar companies. All of them were disorganized and seemed like used car salesmen. Vision was completely different - very professional with organized systems and a very knowledgeable and personable sales person in Doug Rose. The installation was pretty good with some nice extras (A Nest thermostat and LED light bulbs) though they did leave a bit of a mess around the perimeter of the house. They also did have problems connecting the monitor/app and in fact those problems became a big frustration as the panels were only producing, or reporting about 20% of what they were supposed to for the first few months. This caused us to lose a significant amount of money and feel like we had been ripped off. Vision continued to communicate with us and finally got the problem fixed. Now that it is working well we are pretty satisfied.

The process took 7 months which is ridiculous. It took so long even my solar loan payments began! Fortunately Ion agreed to pay for the 2 months of payments when there was a overlap of the loan kicking in but the solar not being turned on. I did enjoy their customer service line though. Sweetest phone reps. I also liked my sales rep Noe. His sales presentation and knowledge was impressive.

So far I am still wondering if this was a great idea as I had my home reproofed in preparation to have my solar system installed. I've heard little from ION Solar since installation and I feel communication as we go would be helpful and not due to my age. Explanations and reminders of our responsibilities as far as upkeep as owners with lists of proper accredited companies to contact and use would be so helpful. Where's the Tax information for being able to receive a credit as offered?

I did not get satisfactory results from customer service. I asked on several occasions for someone to come out and check my system. I was told (essentially) not to worry about it that they could see remotely that my system was working fine. I'm not satisfied that everything about my system can be deduced remotely. I feel that I was put off and never given an answer to the question "What do I have to do to get someone to come out".

Installation was great. Im disappointed and felt mislead on the height of the panels from the roof. One of the selling points was that ION's panels were close enough to the roof that squirrels/birds etc., wouldn't be able to nest. Yet I now have a partially disabled system due to squirrel damage. For the amount of money paid I would have gotten some type of "critter guard" to protect my investment. I've also called ION twice and have been told I'd receive a phone call which never happened. I'm beginning to believe I made a mistake having an install done with your company.

Everyone I delt with was nice and friendly. However, when I set up our plan I requested 105% coverage (sales rep started at 80%). I requested a review of my system due to my receiving bills from the utility company. ION advised we are using more electricity than we are producing. Considering the fact that I gave them copies of my electric bills and I wanted a system that would produce enough to cover 105% of my energy use, I am disappointed.

My problem with Ion was the installation of the panels was rushed and given priority without consideration of the condition of my existing roof. I would recommend your sales staff to advise customers with older roofs to have their roof inspected prior to the panel installation. My roof failed inspection by my insurance company. I needed a new roof installed after the panels were installed by Ion. So I had to pay the cost to remove the panels and reinstall them after the new roof was completed.

The product is working well. However the install and sales team is extremely poor. The sales team and support after install is rude and not knowledgeable. Had to spend lots of time with escalation and understanding how the rebate and pricing would work. Did not get the window between standard power bill and solar start so had to fight for support there. Eventually I found some solid support and the system is working as expected so hence my 3 stars instead of one.

I haven't noticed a great deal of savings with the panels, and I was told it would be a great savings. I barely notice any especially with the monthly payment on the loan. I think it would have been better to actually have a realistic quote of what it would save before having to sign their contract and get them installed. It also took them 5 months to install my panels and it was always because they were waiting on Xcel, but it seemed they could have moved it along quicker.

We signed the financing company agreement in Sept. 2022 and now it is Feb 8, 2023 and the system has not been inspected or turned on. The company indicated the install was completed in Dec. It is on the roof but I believe it is not installed until it is successfully inspected and connected to our electric supplier. At this point, it is just on our roof.

I recently had a 7 kw system installed. The product so far is working great and the installation team was very professional. The ION group did a great job of walking us through the process. My only issue is my own fault. They WAY overcharged for the system. Be warned, their bid is going to be insanely expensive. Many of my friends and neighbors have asked about they system and I tell them all the same thing: Great system, glad I put in a solar system, but use another company that will offer it at a more honest price. Product is nice looking. All I can say is find out your local codes before the install. It will save you a headache. The engineers they send out do not know code the installers do not know code. You wont know your not in code till the final inspection. Our experience was very frustrating. As for our sales rep (Brandon L) once he got the sale no more contact, tried to call several times no call back even had referrals just needed a couple business cards. That went out the window. Had a few good moments threw it, so that's why the three stars.

Installation as promised: on time and with quality installers. Production not as promised. Today is our 1-year anniversary. Y1 prediction was 13608 kW-h. Y1 production was 11950 kW-h, which is -12% from the predicted amount. Other companies we considered going with used things like NREL LIDAR evaluations of our property. I believe ION uses nothing less than an online estimator. Buyer beware.

Great communication early on in the process. Installation was when problems began to occur. Ion subcontracted the installation. The subcontractors broke several tiles and installed too many panels. I think the system is good, but I believe I might have paid more for this service than some of my peers with the same total service, installation service was extremely slow, but credit to ION they kept me update every step of the way, but I did end up paying for solar and my original energy company for two months, but fixed now (could be due to staffing shortage we are experiencing currently, circa 2021/2022). Overall process was really easy, coordinator reaches out and handled everything with dates you provided. ** One big red eye is that you wait so long your start thinking about cancelling as you go through all four seasons and realize that there are times where the solar will actually charge you double than what your paying during the colder months on your standard energy bill, but this can be cancelled out if you take advantage of going through process of doing "SREC" which you can sell back any energy produced but not used and get money back each month... This can be a big bonus. Do your research and make it make sense. We are no happy or sad about it, just "Meh" for now, we shall see as Solar normally makes it's money during the hotter months, not trying to bash ION in no way, just a honest review. Hope this helps and have a great day.

Too many managers or coordinators. When the equipment install was complete, the area manager tried to tell me that the meter was yet to be installed. The pictures provided by the electrician should have shown the new meter. There might be fewer delays if fewer people were involved.

They installed the lines/conduit and it was not run in the best way in an area we entertain in. They also cut our door jam to fit the conduit in a way that was easiest for them. They came back out to fix it after my husband complained and STILL did not do what was asked.

Overall, I had a great experience with Ion through installation, but that all went downhill after installation and when Kylee took over as my project coordinator. After the county inspected the work, it took over a month and a few angry phone calls to get her to provide me any update on the project (Dec 14 - Jan 16). After that I requested a new project manager but never received one. If it weren't for the absolute fantastic customer service provided previously by Taylor and Alexis, as well as Corry and Nadiya I would have dropped it to one star.

The overall cost was more than disclosed. Also, our summer bill is only utility fees, however, our winter bill is still as high as it was before. The system is not providing as much as told it would.

The sales Rep was untrust worthy regarding the $10,000 increase on the follwing year's tax return after the panels were installed. He also was not avaible to disucss once this was discovered and blocked my phone number.

This is a great company, I have saved over $100 dollars every month, some months I pay no electric bill, everyone should be using solar panels. Help save the environment too.
