Super fast installs!! Before I began the process I did nothing know much about solar, however, the salesman took the time to explain the entire process and made sure all my questions were answered. I have friends that went with another company and took months to get installed, they were so jealous when they found out I was up and running within two weeks! They also offer amazing warranties and every promise I was made has been followed through on. I was skeptical at first but I have not been able to find any issues with my service.

I moved into a new home. A door to door sales person came through to introduce Deca who previously did business as Zenith. As is the case with sales people, they talk a good game and make promises. After a little research I decided to move forward with the purchase and installation of the solar panels using Deca as the provider. The process started ok. I was a little put off with the installation planning. My sales person didn't work with me to set a date. He called me and said, there's another house in the neighborhood with an install so we're going to do yours the same day. Well, I work away from home so I have to make arrangements. There wasn't enough time for me to do that so, I was not at home when the panels were installed. It seemed like as soon as the panels were installed, the Deca sales person forgot that he had a customer. His promise to me was that he would check up and follow up until the process was complete. As it goes, the last time I saw my sales person was a day after the panels were installed. I made contact with him a few days later because my security cameras were off line which could have been disconnected when the installers were in the attic. After that. silence until I received a note on my door from Oncor indicating that I was stealing solar energy and that I needed to turn the panels off immediately. Well I didn't know the panels were on nor did I know how to turn them off so I bypassed the sales person and contacted Deca directly to have someone come through to turn off the panels. Then I contacted Oncor to check next steps. Well the story goes on and on until I was able to connect with Deca employee Darren. Darren assured me that he would make sure the rest of the process went smoothly. I hung onto his promise (again) and he delivered. Darren took my case to the team that could finish the process. It took about a week and a half to finish up the needed requirements with Oncor and to connect that with what Deca was supposed to do. I was kept in the loop along the way. Finally finished, Darren contacted me to stop by to turn on the panels and install the app on my phone. It seems that everything is working as designed. The app on my phone shows me progress and the meter outside shows activity. Waiting on my first bill. The process began in April. We're in Mid June now. This may be normal. My story doesn't have an end right now but, for anyone interested in this process, I recommend asking for or creating a written check list when talking with your sales rep to make sure price points and benchmark dates are being met. Also get the name and numbers of people at the company to call. I've learned that sometimes sales people can be kinda wishy washy or they over commit. They're done when the sale is done but, they don't make proper transitions to connect the customer to the next team responsible for completing the process. If my sales guy had made that transition instead of personally promising that he'd be there every step of the way, my review would have been 5 stars instead of 4 stars. Overall I'm at peace with my purchase thanks to the follow up and follow through by Darren.

Had a great experience with Deca Solar and their customer support. They were very professional and generous customer service when we needed help and had questions they didn’t hesitate to answer them, I definitely recommend Deca solar.

If I could I would give 0 stars. Major Misrepresentation of how much I would be paying for electricity. The sales person actually guaranteed I would receive a stipend from the government for these panels on my taxes which I have not, when I asked “our representatives are not tax experts” then why even bring it up if not everyone qualifies. I was promised a bonus for referring neighbors that has not been received either. I opened a formal complaint with the BBB and nothing has been done. All I get as responses are you need to contact customer service as if I haven’t like millions of times…Promises of $20-30 monthly electricity bill is actually 150-200/mo on top of a $190 payment for the actual panels themselves. I was better off on a fixed rate without the panels of $235 from electric company. They said it would be about 1-2 months for installation but they took almost 6 months. They broke my window while installing and hired the cheapest contractor to fix it. Called the window company that installed the window because they left glass all over my carpet (major safety issue) they didn’t even bother advising me their could be broken glass, I have not heard from them either. Called lumio there’s nothing they can do about my bill. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Sells representatives or compete liers. Goodleap, the loan provider or liers. Everyone involved with this company are liers. The only reason I went with this company is because the sells rep specifically said I would not have to pay extra after a year. Turns out that was a complete lie, I asked repeatedly if I would to sink moneh into it to not raise my rate. He said if I just paid like normal I would not have too. A blatant lie. I get a call a year later and I am now 1000 more than what I originally was quoted and going to get a nice $30 increase in May. I don't save money at all. Still have a electric bill plus the loan bill. Which seller and goodleap a like said that I'd be almost %100 electric free. Whole company and everyone they work with are scammers.

Terrible installation, false information by the Sales Rep. Promises made on the agreement have not been met. Never received our back up Generator and it’s been over a year now, our electric payment is not much from what we have been paying before, and now we have the panels to payment as well. So, we are paying more then we budget before with our conventional electric plan. After the installation was completed, it took 7 Months before the services was turned on after the inspection and we have not been refunded for 4 of those Months yet. Enough is enough. I will be hiring an attorney for legal actions.

Let me just start off by saying if there were less than a one star review I would pick that one. Deca Solar is a big JOKE!! A sales rep named Grant emailed me about purchasing solar panels and since at the moment I am still living with my parents I showed my dad and said "Moms always so stressed about the electric bill let's get solar panels as a surprise for her." My dad said "Okay (you know) we will call the number Grant left." We called Grant the next day and he explained the whole process as if it would go smoothly and quickly well let me tell you it did not. Luckily we recorded this. We started out by getting a crew out to our house to install the panels on our roof they left extra brackets (that are still there, btw) and never installed the meter or set anything up. We kept calling and they kept on lying. We sent a woman named Breanna all of our pictures We recorded all of our conversations from the get go simply because of companies like Deca. Breanna turned out to be a liar just like Grant. You can never get ahold of this company. Instead of making my parents bills cheaper it made them higher which only made my mom stress worse which caused a lot of fighting between my parents and family. I don't think that I could have gotten my mom a worse surprise. In March the light company told my mom that our solar panels weren't even working!! That was a SHOCKER!! Mom was furious! Here we are July 14 and a new Company called Lumio comes out and says that they have taken Deca over the service that we got today was something that our family could have used from the beginning. At this point all I can say is Deca is probably the absolute worst thing that could have happened to my family instead of a $200- $300 light bill we started to pay more. This was not the way things were intended to go I can say that. The man that came out from Lumio today said that Deca had many upset customers every where and that doesn't surprise me because they are the worst!!!!!!!!

Where do I start I have been trying to talk with Deca since the 1st of the year? Do not believe what contractors tell you that come to your house soliciting especially Joe. He talks fast and promises sign on bonuses which I never received. Promises to cut trees that would obstruct the sun to panels lies. I've had oncor to my house asking me why were panels installed without cutting trees? My bill is supposed to be a set price but has increased this month. Only thing good is adt does follow thru and do what they say. I am so upset I allowed myself to be taken by this company and its employee. I will never allow a company to solicit at my doorstep again. Do not sign up with this company to many fraudulent things going on and you can't contact anyone that knows what's going on. Definitely do not trust any contractor named Joe.

lied about my entire roof getting windstorm certified. only panel installation are. i let the salesman know that i would not go forward unless the whole roof could be windstorm certified since my roof wasnt when it was installed previously. told me tax credit would be paid to me at 19000$. it is only your tax liability for two years which in my case, this year amounts to 4800$. told me that buyback program would be paid in cash at the end of each year instead of just credits which do not carry over from one year to the next. promised two years of payments to me in the form of a check for $5000 or so. a few other things that were promised as well. i may end up defaulting on the loan since they cannot put a lien on my home and i will never sell it anyway. they will just have a judgement against me thats enforced only if i were to ever sell my home. its partly my fault for being naive and not doing research beforehand, but whats done is done. i also feel that when i do business with someone or some company, that they deal with clients honestly. ive tried numerous times to reach out to them, but im ignored. they did send me a check for 3700$ since i declined the generator which only actually costs 1300$ before hookup. ive been reimbursed by check for the two months that ive been billed, but now the new owners, lumia solar, will only send a link to receive gift cards to reimburse for march and forward. maybe other solar companies are more reputable, but this one is sadly unethical.

I sure wish I had read all these reviews before doing business with Deca. I am having the same issues other reviewers have had. They promised me I would never have to pay another electric bill. They changed the configuration of the panels from what I agreed. They have not called the city inspectors to come out and inspect the panels; hence AEP will not hook my panels up to the grid. If the installers will call and request the inspection the city will do it and if the panels pass inspection AEP will hook us into the grid. I cannot request the inspection myself; it has to come from the installation company. When I called Deca about this they couldn't give me an answer and said they would have to call me back, which of course they haven't done. My salesman also lied to me about the price. He guarnteed that the price would never change. He said I'll pay $119 a month for 25 years with no payments to an electric company again ever. That sounded like a great deal to me. I just got the certificate of agreement in my email today that shows in a year and a half my payments will go up from $119.00 to 162.00 per month. I am just about ready to call legal aide to see if they can do anything for me. He also warn me that not all electric companies participate in the solar buy back plan. I didn't know about that until I called my energy company to tell them I am converting to solar.

I had the same experience as everyone else on here leaving poor reviews. They are terrible. The biggest surprise was how they deceived me into thinking that I would get a 26% tax credit. Not only that, but the loan provider depends on that tax credit going towards the loan or your payments go up. They promised a quick install and that I would be able to monitor the system with the app. It took 4 months to get installed and that was probably only because I kept calling them and checking on the status. Then, on the day of install they changed the panels and configuration that they originally promised. It then took another 6-8 weeks to get the system turned on and I still don't have any way of monitoring the system with the app. I have called and they keep telling me that they will submit the request. Now, I don't even know if the system is producing what they say it is supposed to.

Be wary when dealing with is company!! Get everything in writing that the salesman tells you they will do for you if you buy the system. I would advise against using this company for several reasons 1 the showed up to my house with no permit in hand then didn’t install the panels according to the engineers drawings which were not what I agree to when I bought the system. 2 they said they would take care of notifying my energy provider of they system install they didn’t and AEP locked my system out I had to get all the paperwork and submit. Next I was told that as long as my panels produced more power than I used I would not have an electric bill, this is an outright lie you will always have an electric bill. You will still have delivery charges and fees. Next once I got my system approve and working I thought one of their techs showed up at my house to get the system set up on the internet and get my app work he was stoned out of his mind and my app showed I had an error for approx 2 weeks. I finally got someone to come check the system and they had to rewire the emphase panel it now seems to be working but the refuses to reimburse me for my electric bill during the time my system wasn’t producing properly and the salesman said they would. If I continue to have issues with this I’m getting a lawyer.

There needs to be a 0 star. I have had issues since I signed the contract. The panels were installed in about a month, so that's good. Was told they'd be inspected within a few days(lie) but, it took a month, and numerous calls to get the electric company out to give the "go live" OK. I also ordered a battery. Originally I was told they were back ordered 2 weeks. Then 2-3 months, then 6 months. Got the battery finally installed in January. But, it has been a month, and it's still not configured to be used with my system. So, I have an expensive paperweight hanging on my house at this point. And, they can't tell me when someone will be out to activate it. But, I'm on a spreadsheet somewhere for when someone is "in the area". They never call you back after they say they will. They keep changing their stories when they even tell you anything. Pay a little more, and RUN somewhere else.

Worst company call & ask to speak to a supervisor & get told there is no supervisor, ask for a manager get told there is no manager, ask to speak to someone higher up, get told there is no one higher up. So tell them what you need, they tell you that can not be done. I have to pay extra every month to Reliant Finally was told Oncorr's electric meter was malfunctioning they would call & get them to replace it & I would get refund from Reliant that has not happened after waiting 2 months In the beginning was told I would get a $6000 refund from Government at tax time if my grandson co-signed the contract that was a lie can not get refund They knew I was elderly widow I stressed I didn't think I could pay for ir if it cost me extra each month They assured me there would not be any extra cost My panels would handle it Now I am stuck!!!!!

After the loan was signed, Deca had the solar panels installed, but then they stopped, the company no longer called. The panels had not been connected, and I have kept on getting a bill for the panels as well as a bill from my elect company. Called there customer service number many times they gave me two different dates they were going to show up. No one ever showed up or called. I kept calling customer service, they would tell me that they would call me back but never did. After close to 4 Months a worker finely came by and did some work but only after I had called the finance company and complained and asked why there were providing finance to such a cooked company, he passed my complaints to their HQ, then the tech showed up the next day. He completed everything, except running a line through the attic. He said there would be someone coming back this weekend to finish it. So well see I was also told that I would get a 20,000 tax credit that I could use to help pay off the loan. From what I have read it is a 26 % of your solar cost so for me that would be 14,600$$ and it was a non-refundable tax credit. Which means it would only pay off taxes you owe, if you don’t owe taxes on this year’s tax return, then you don’t get any credit. If this is true then the company and salesman lied.

Zenith Solar, now Deca Living destroyed my $80k roof and installed the solar system illegally. I highly recommend not doing business with them at all. Also a simple phone call to Elevation Solar to ask if either Zenith Solar or Deca Living is a authorized dealer and you will find out that they are not at all. Which is fraud. At one time Zenith Solar was an authorized dealer but unfortunately for them, they were doing these types of things will bring a dealer, so Elevation Solar cut all ties with them. It is quite funny that they are still falsely advertising that they are an authorized dealer. Also if I was any customer of either, I would reach out to your city’s permitting department and ensure that they actually pulled the required permits by law to install you system. If they didn’t that could fall back on you as the home owner, not to mention if something was to happen and to your roof or system, your insurance, that is required through loan contractors and their contract to replace or pay off the system in the event of total loss, would not be covered at all by your insurance because the system was installed illegally. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of doing business with them or for anyone that has done business with them.

If I could give this rating 0 stars I would. Sales rep, Michael promised to be with us every step of the way and has failed to do that, along with his Assistant Manager, Anand. Both have refused to return my messages. I have many questions and they have refused to answer. It took numerous rescheduling attempts to get these panels installed, 1st because they didn't have the right brackets for the rood. They assumed I have the standard metal roof like everyone else. Guess he didn't bother to look properly. Was just ready for that spicy commission check he gets when suckering people into buying their product. TNP said the meter was the wrong one, so they had to go and swap it. Was informed to call them back and inform them that the breaker was shut off and they needed to come by and finish their part. It hasn't happened. They mentioned payments would NOT go up, but FAILED to mention if you use the tax credit you get back due to the government program for personal needs such as fixing up an AC unit instead of putting all the money back towards the loan that your payments would go up tremendously. So instead of paying 290 something you're paying close to 400! I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB. The most shady company I have ever dealt with. Find someone else more trustworthy.

My doorbell rang in early January of 2021 unexpectedly. My wife and I had been mulling over the idea of investing in solar for the last few weeks so I was pleasantly surprised to find the doorbell was rung by two nice looking folks from Zenith Solar (now DECA). Long story short they convinced us to invest in a $83,000 system promising a lot of things that ended up not being entirely true. 1. When asked how long it would take to be fully installed and producing they said " Oh we are seeing an average of about 3-5 months", "plus we are writing you a $1000 check to offset the cost if you end up having to pay an electric bill AND the $299.00 solar panel payment." I am writing this on September 21st and I am still not connected. 2. I noticed when going over the financial agreement that there were two different monthly payment amounts. When I asked what the difference was I was told that " the higher payment you see there is when your loan re-amortizes. I was told what that means and that I would have 18 months from the time the loan started too pay off the amount of around $23,000 to keep my monthly payments for the solar panels @$299.00. When I asked how the heck am I supposed to come up with that kind of money in 18 months I was told that I was going to qualify for a massive tax credit as part of a government program. I then said "so you're saying on my next tax return I will get that money in a lump sum" and the salesperson said "yup". Keep in mind that my average monthly usage was only around $275.00 so having a fixed payment of $299.00 wasn't that big of a jump AND it would add value to my home (something that just paying an electric bill never would). Not in a million years would I ever want a chance for my monthly "electric bill to be $400.00 every month, that would be counter productive and financially insane. 3. Since this whole process has taken much longer than originally planned I have also missed out on getting locked into a "1 for 1" buyback program from the new electrical provider I choose to go with. So once again it has made a bad situation worse buy now having to pay more for the electricity I use and getting less for the electricity I produce. I guess the morale of my story (like many others I've read) is that usually if it sounds to good to be true it is. In an effort to "make things right with me as a consumer DECA has written me about $5000 in various check amounts to try and off-set the bad information I was given that led me to making this horrible decision. I asked for them to keep whatever money I had spent on this fiasco and just come get the stuff off my home and fix the roof and we could be done, they said "no can do". I asked for them to pay the approx $23,000 I was told I'd receive in the lump tax return to keep my loan from re-amortizing and they again said "that's not gonna happen". So all in all I am paying for something I no longer want, which will eventually have me spending more money per month for electricity then I ever have, and that still hasn't even been turned on yet to show me it even works. So if this sounds like a good deal to you then be my guest and sign up, but if you do I'd make damn sure if any promises are made don't take anybody's word on it until you have a copy of said promises in writing in hand. Otherwise you might end up like me. END RANT.

Nothing to like about this company. The salesman promised to be with us through the whole process, what a joke. Promises that when the panels are installed they will give me a check for a years worth o my electricity, so far I have seen half that and do not expect to see the rest. Also sat at out dinning room table and told us about how we could pay the loan off faster by using the tax credits from the federal government and that AEP also had some credits or payments. It turns out that deca living and any or all of the companies that they have taken over are NOT on the approved installers list at AEP and so none of their customers are eligible for the AEP program. Our panels were installed on the 16th of April, but not able to use them for the next 62 days as paperwork was incorrectly filled out and submitted to AEP and was returned to deca living and ignored for a month. Once I started contacting AEP and found out I started calling for support and help, can you guess just how much support I got? NONE. Panels were finally turned on 17th of June as AEP finally came and replaced the meter. As of today, 26 June, we still do not the app installed and configured. Customer support at this company is areal laughing matter, it is totally absent. By the way, I had to start making payments BEFORE we were able to use the panels. Great comapany..NOT! Avoid at all means and costs.

LIES!!! LIES!!!! LIES!!!! LIES!!!! LIES!!! LIES!!! LIES!!!! LIES!!! Salesman lied. Don't let them tell you you'll get the money back in taxes. You won't! It's a credit. NOT a deduction. Plus if you finance with their finance company (Goodleap) they expect you to pay part of the loan with the tax credit. If you don't, your payment doubles. Just keep in mind, a credit is only good if you owe money for taxes at the end of the year.

Signed off on the agreed upon proposal layout design. Bait and switched me after contract signed. Panels are not in the agreed upon locations. Management doesn't care to call me back and seemingly knew what they were going to do and didn't even bother calling me to inform me of design changes prior to install. They just went rogue and did what they wanted to do. Operate under false pretenses!! Quick to secure the loan yet slow reacting to conflict resolution.

This is kind of a junk company, they do not respond to you after you sign the contract, you never know what is happening and its literally hopeless. Something must be happening with them Q4 , 2021. Signed up for couple of my homes and they neither installed solar or give an update. Poor roofer trusted them and installed roof and is now begging for payments for weeks. They suck. Customer service is awful. Conned is into getting system. Also I can’t get a tax credit because I am low income and get all I pay in back. The Panels only produce 40 to 50$ a month. Then the panel payment of 147 plus the electric bill I am still having to pay. I am paying more now than I was Before.

Very deceptive. Too much to list. Definitely not worth the hassle. Panels haven't worked consistently since they were activated. A refund for monthly payment has been issued for the past 6 months. This is extremely disappointing.

If you like being lied to and having to pay more than before you got panels this company is the way to go. Salesman will tell you a bunch of enticing stuff to get you to sign but in the end it will be wrong. Horrible company. And if you call customer service they will give you the run around.

Despite having a large "No Soliciting" sign by my doorbell, Caleb from Deca Solar rang my doorbell to try to sell me his products. He did not have a "Peddlers Permit", which is illegal.

Worst company I've ever dealt with, the are liars, they are rude! I've been paying for 6 months and my panels don't work, and they don't return calls! Go with another company please!

Do not get anything from deca. My advice talk to any other company even if you have to pay more. You will not regret it. Over 3months with panels on my roof. And can not get them to work. Do not go with this company
