Our experience with Ruben K from SolarSME can be summarized as trustworthy. Ruben immediately answered every call and text message. He was honest with his responses even when he had to perform research on my request. As far as SolarSME, they kept every promise and were loyal until we obtained permission to operate from our local power company. Furthermore, their monitoring software and responsiveness are as trustworthy as working with Ruben. We are delighted with this outcome and recommend this company to anyone considering an affordable and top-notch solar provider.

I would like to express my gratitude to Solar SME and Raffy S for bringing my project to the end. My project took a long time due to reasons beyond their control and was more complicated due to the limited size of my roof, but they were there throughout, making sure that the project made it through the entire approval process intact. Good service, value for money!

From the project manager Raffy S, to Aryan in sales, the onsite project manager Josh, master electrician Baruc and electrician Jesus and all the crew- the experience was an excellent one. These guys did a great job with not only a timely and high quality install, but also with the contract setup and detailed design for our HOA. I had an independent contractor inspect the job and he said it was the best install he's ever seen. Highly recommend this company.

Great experience from the sale to the installation and following the installation. Adam was phenomenal and was a book of information regarding the system. The communication with the project manager, Ruben, was excellent. From the start of the installation, during the installation, and following the installation, Ruben has stayed in consistent contact and is always going to fight any battle for you.

SolarSME has access to a lot of different equipment manufacturers to allow designing a system that fits your needs. This also helps supply issues and the high demand for solar.
After sales you’re assigned a project manager (Areej in my case) that is the single point of contact for design, permitting, installation and startup. She made the process vey easy and answering questions, providing progress updates and installation coordination.

Ruben did a great job with the design and communicating status updates throughout the process. I was impressed with the install team and how clean the wiring and conduit runs were. Once install kicked off it was only a little over a week that I had PTO from Oncor. Ruben stayed on top of the of the various city officials to receive the proper signoffs.

Choosing the right solar company can make for a wonderful or nightmare solar experience. Thankfully I choose a good one in Solar SME. Andrew and Basem Y got me system up and running on and older house with a couple of challenges they worked through. I had just put a brand new roof on my property and Solar SME was able to offer my a warranty where they had to install the panels which made it a easier decision for me. Basem and Tom the installer also helped get to a few installation bugs and were very professional and courteous throughout the process.

Josh L from Solar AME developed a design and proposal for my residence and was extremely capable and competent. He was super responsive and professional. Ultimately, I decided not to pursue solar power, but that had to do with the technology and price, together with the unfortunately high interest rates due to the economy. My decision had nothing to do with the support I got from Josh, as he was excellent. I would highly recommend him.

I used energy sage to bid several companies against one another. I chose solar sme due to their low interest rate and high quality equipment and micro-inverters. During the estimation phase I was sent contracts to sign that seemingly added $19,000 to the bottom line cost of the project. I inquired about this added cost which was not mentioned or noted anywhere in my documents that I had seen. After I asked about the increase I was advised it was a loan organization fee. I felt blindsided by this fee. I read all of the documents they sent me and the emails and never saw this fee mentioned once. After I told them I would seek secondary financing they said I could get same as cash financing but with a 6.99% interest rate rather than the .99 advertised. I plan to pay the system off quickly so I am not worried about the interest rate increase. After dealing with the financial side I was handed off to Dan M for the project and he was great! He handled every situation quickly and answered messages and emails almost instantly like a pro!! Solar sme is lucky to have this guy! The installers left a lot of trash at my home, zip ties, bolts, plastic protector pieces in my gutters etc, but they did a good job installing the panels, their electrician did an excellent job with his attention to detail and wire organization! The system went online the day they finished install, their was a hangup with some of the equipment but Dan made it right quickly! I highly recommend solar sme, just be careful with their finance dept!

We had a great experience with the installer crew, who were friendly, professional, and communicative throughout the process. Shortly after install, one of the panels failed to come online. Basem Y and his team were able to troubleshoot, diagnosing whether the problem was the microinverter or the panel, finding that the panel was a dud. He coordinated an RMA and delivered a replacement panel as quickly as he could and now my system is operating at full capacity.

Omar kept me updated throughout the entire process. Even after the installation was complete, Omar worked with the installers to address some minor concerns. I could not be happier with my system from Solar SME. We are now up and running with 46 REC panels and Encharge 20 batteries. We installed a generator and when the system came back up there were errors to the Enphase panel we have. Once identified Basem Y and Frank the field installer were once mobilized were proactive, competent, and quick to respond. Basem
assisted me in resolving several setup issues over the phone in coordination with The Enphase support personand responded to my calls and emails quickly. The system is now working.

I worked with Michael L as my project manager and Michael was very helpful to get my system start and running. However, my installation exceeded expected project timeline due to exessive SolarEdge hardware failures. I guess COVID-19 pandemic may have contributed to the delay. You have to be a very engaging customer to get them do their job. Overall, they're very knowledagle on residential solar installations. Basem Y provided excellent customer service to provision my system for optimal performance. I'll recommend Solar SME to other customers

Solar SME was one of the choice I considered when using the energysage website to compare Solar installer company. I only dealt with the sales representative but when looking comparing, this company was on the top list when it comes to panels, inverters, and the cost. The sales representative, was excellent as to consistently keeping in touch to answer any question but also talked to me on his off-day to explain the quote.

I was quoted by SolarSME and ended up taking their bid. Michael was my POC for the project and was there every step of the way if I had questions or concerns. The install, or lag time between signing paperwork and getting everything turned on took longer than I expected but it was still completed and as quoted. In fact it was a little cheaper so I am happy. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for solar panels.

He was able to complete a 3 month project in 2 months and the actual install was only one day. He went above our expectations for this project. He kept us up to date on all steps of the project. I appreciate that Xavier L was knowledgable and took the time to inform me about solar in general, and about my specific needs. He was patient as we looked for finance solutions and attempted to find a lender that made sense for my budget. I was impressed by the company and him and his willingness to be honest about the size of the system that he designed for me and not simply placing the largest system because it could result in a higher price tag for me and larger commission for him. He designed a system that met my needs and allows me to participate in net metering with my power company.

Solar SME is a subject matter expert on solar panels, installation, permits, warranty, and service. At every step they worked for mutual satisfaction and exemplified being customer driven. I found them to be reasonable and to live up to their word and commitments. I highly recommend Solar SME.
My system is set to produce ~25,000 kWh per year with south and west facing panels totaling 51 REC solar panels with Enphase micro inverters.

I would actually rate this company 4.5 stars out of 5; however, BBB rating system doesn't allow for half stars. They were very attentive throughout the entire process, from negotiating terms of the contract through to final completion. I felt I could always call my representative and he would find out the answer to my questions or update me on where we were along the way. In fact, I rarely needed to reach out because my rep was in constant contact with me. The reason for deducting a star (or .5 of a star, again, if it were possible) is because I felt a little more could have been done to go over the aesthetics and installation of our solar project. First was running conduit on top of the roof to connect the solar arrays, instead of running wires through attic, while easier to install it requires more holes drilled in the roof, to anchor the conduit, and increases the probability of water ingress in future. I was explained the technique they use to prevent leaks and was assured that will not be an issue. Second was the color of racking system to blend a bit better with our roof. That extra attention to detail and they would be 5 stars! Overall, I would recommend Solar SME to my friends and family if they were installing solar. I'm extremely picky about the contractors I hire and I would say they met and even exceeded my overall expectations.

Solar SME has been great to work with so far. I have compared their quotes to 4 different other companies and found them to be the best combination of fair prices, high quality equipment, and good customer service. Other companies had to trade off prices or quality too quickly to meet the expectations we had for our home solar system.

This was an awesome experience from beginning to end. They do all the work and make all the calls. You sit back and relax. Sign of few contracts, via email I might add, and your done. SME was the fastest response time of quotes from multiple companies, but best of all was the customer service experience! Shane with SME made the experience painless, in that he was able to concisely explain the entire process in a clear and comprehensive manner to a person less informed on the solar industry. He did so we a previously unseen patience and professionalism. Shane is what made the experience a 5 star experience!

Ultimately I did not choose to go with SolarSME for my solar needs but it was not because of anything they did as a company. It was just a personal decision to take a different route and pursue my project as a DIY’er. I was very impressed with the communication from my Salesman - Omar. I work a very busy schedule and am usually unable to communicate effectively at normal hours of operation. Omar was understanding and did everything in his power to make sure we communicated effectively and my questions were answered along the way.

We are glad that we were able to get in touch with Zac at Solar SME, in our pursuit of Solar Panel installation.
Zac has been very patient in answering all our questions and concerns. He is very meticulous in communicating all of the information that is necessary to make an informed and calculated decision going for solar panels.
As we are planning to purchase Electric cars next year, we are definite to approach Zac at SME Solar next year to expand our solar installation, since we foresee higher consumption of electricity.

My overall experience was very satisfied. They were very helpful with choosing a system that was within my budget yet satisfied my power demand. The whole process was extremely smooth and easy. I was able to do it all from my phone. They do all the work for you from filing the right permits to figuring out if you have any trees to trim for best lighting. The instillation crew I cant say enough good things about them. They were extremely polite, very knowledgeable, great workmanship, extremely fast.

Process was very smooth, communication was on point. Product works as advertised and it is good value for money at that time. Solar is like buying a HDTV, wait a year and prices are cheaper so nothing they can do but it was great value for money then. I wish they had given be a drone video of the installed product because I have no idea how it looks like on the roof.

Most of the process was great. I had some periods of slow responsiveness (having to email 2 or 3 times before they got back to me) but nothing too worrisome.
Biggest issue I had was with the Solar SME installers -- they ALWAYS left trash and debris in my yard, some of it large enough that it would have destroyed my lawn mower had I not seen it in time... I found at least a dozen pieces of metal, plastic caps, wires, screws, etc. They need to do a better job of cleaning up after themselves.
