Solar Optimum

I looked at Solar for years, and when I finally moved forward, Solar Optimum outshined the other providers. They were thorough, professional, and took care of everything from the permitting process to the installation. The panels are really beautiful and the savings tremendous. I went from $600-$700 a month A/C bills to $100 during peak season, and I live in the San Fernando Valley. There are many months in the winter and spring where my electric bill is simply the connection fee, $10 plus $1 tax (10%). I highly recommend them.

We received bids from multiple companies with varying equipment. Solar Optimum offered the best equipment for the best price. They listened to my current and future energy needs and sized the system appropriately. They were able to get the permits quickly and even satisfied all of the ridiculous HOA requirements. On the day of install the arrived early and stayed late to complete the install in one day, cleaning up completely. On the day of the final inspection they came out and painted all of the pipes to blend in with the house and we passed final inspection. SCE allowed us to turn on our system in October and we have been producing enough solar energy to meet our needs (and more) ever since. Solar Optimum has always been responsive and if we decide to add a battery system to our solar install you can bet that Solar Optimum will be the first place that we call.

Solar Optimum was a great value. I shopped around prior to deciding to go with Solar Optimum. They were able to provide us a high end panel for a lower cost than the mid-grade panels their competitors were providing. They kept me updated through the permitting and installation process.

After doing our due diligence and searching many solar companies, we made our decision to go with Solar Optimum. It was the best decision. They are very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. They make the process easy to get solar. They take care of all the work including all the permits and working with SCE

Solar Optimum was unable to complete the job in the promised timeframe due to numerous errors and avoidable delays. Inital plans did not include all panels specified in contract. This caused delay submitting to the city for permits while plans were corrected. The wrong panels were delivered to the job site. Again I as customer was the one who had to check their work. Subcontractors ordered a main electrical panel for underground utilities whereas this is a home built in 1940 and all utilities are on a pole. This caused additional weeks delay. Solar Optimum scheduled building inspection for day they were not ready and we're not present on site when the inspector arrived, causing further delay.

Great installation and very streamlined process with a very competitive price. After almost two years, no issues with the panels or solar generation and have saved a lot of money over that time.

Premium products, good installation, fair price

Best service, price, and guarantee. Installation was smooth and done within a day.

What could go wrong did go wrong. The only time they contacted me without repeated attempts on my behalf was when they wanted money. Monitoring was never set up and I'm pretty sure that the grid profile is incorrectly configured for California. Recommended many people to not choose Solar Optimum.

They were very professional and kept me informed during the installation process. The office staff were professional and kept in contact with me to know the next step on the entire installation process.

They were great except for time needed to get approval from county. Seem to move ahead only hen called

Overall I liked the entire process from sales to PTO. All incentives were applied for and received.

Solar Optimum itself was great, but the installers they hired were a nightmare. It was a fight to get the system installed within months of when it was originally promised. They failed multiple inspections with the City and I ended up calling the permitting office directly to sort out the issues that were preventing the project from being approved & it was clear the installers were being dishonest with what they were telling me in person was holding the project up. The only reason the system was completed before the end of the year (and I was able to collect the full tax credit) was because of the legwork I personally had to put in with the city. I felt like I was required to do far more than a typical homeowner ever should have been just to get things installed correctly and in a reasonable timeframe.

Lack of communication regarding status of project; required my involvement as the project was apparently forgotten once I approved design.

Great company overall, had some issues with sales communication and post-install service. However, their management corrected any issues once alerted. I understand that residential solar is of less importance than commercial installation and maintenance--and I'm happy to queue up behind the squeaky wheels--however, the company has poor at responding to emails. In my business, I respond to all customers--big and small--quickly, even just to say that email was received and that a follow up would ensue. Other than communication issues, I would still recommend Solar Optimum with that caveat, and would ask them to improve by simply acknowledging emails even if just to say that a requests may take time to get to.

I had Solar Optimum put 26 panels on my roof and install a Tesla battery. The Panasonic panels were higher quality than those offered by a competitor. My electric bill has gone down to around $10/mo vs $400-600/mo last summer. The install went smoothly. I had a problem with a trench being left open at the end of the job that I filled in myself. The company refunded half of the bill for the trench which seemed fair. The solar system has been working fine and I have had no issues with the product at all. I would recommend this company.

customer services is not good. I took me weeks to activate the system.

Quoting and panel installation were excellent but I incurred a lot of frustration when their electrician lied about doing something and no one was taking me seriously when I showed photo evidence that he didn't - caused an electrical inspection to fail and delayed startup..

Installation teams are professional and on-time. Their workmanship is exceptional. The only thing they can improve on is response time to some of my inquiries. Otherwise, they are a great company.

A little over a year ago we decided to get a solar system installed. I looked online and called a few of the better recommended companies, including Solar Optimum. Several of those companies wanted me to sign their contract that same day and asked for a $1,000 deposit check. When I asked them questions about solar and the contract (which was several pages of very small print) it became obvious to me that they were salesmen only and were not very familiar with the solar system side. Not so when I was visited by the Solar Optimum representative. Based upon his assessment of the premises, he provided an estimated final cost that included the need to replace my electrical panel because of current building code requirements. No other company had even mentioned that fact. I'm pretty sure that would have been an expensive "extra cost" if I had gone with some, or maybe all, of the other providers. The preliminary cost figure was among the lowest I received and far below most other companies estimate. Solar Optimum stated that if I wanted to proceed he would arrange and schedule a Solar Optimum employee to come out to inspect and measure my roof, determine likely location of the 13 solar panels, reviewed my electrical panel and reiterated the need to replace the panel. Within a week I received an online and detailed sketch of where the solar optimum (pun intended) location of panels would be installed. By this time, for a variety or reasons, I had little doubt about purchasing my system from Solar Optimum. And now, almost a full year later, I have absolutely no doubt that I made the right decision. The installation process was very professional, efficient, and timely. The onsite management was a distinct pleasure working with and kept me fully informed of progress. To anyone considering a solar system, I have absolutely no qualms about recommending Solar Optimum as your provider Oh, by the way, my final cost turned out to be significantly below the initial cost estimate, and the system is working flawlessly!
