PetPremium is a pet insurance provider that aides pet owners in finding the perfect pet insurance coverage and plan. PetPremium’s primary mission is to help owners receive the guidance and information they need to make an informed decision about their pets health and their insurance coverage. PetPremium knows that vet visits can be pricey and the company focuses on informing people about the importance of pet insurance.
The company functions with the mission to build strong connections between pet owners and vets, putting out articles written by veterinarians and animal experts that will help dog and cat owners get the most out of any of their vet visits.
All PetPremium's pet health content is available in its pet health center and is free to pet owners to read and research to help keep their pets happy, healthy, and protected.
Pet owners can fill out a simple form on the PetPremium website to receive a free quote. Simply enter your pet's information:
If customers have additional pets they would like covered, PetPremium states they can be added on later in the process.
PetPremium has two coverage plans for pet owners to choose from. Both of the policies have a 30-day money back guarantee*.
Accidents-Only Coverage:
Total Coverage:
Owners can choose between a Routine or Advance Wellness Plan. The Routine Wellness Care Coverage costs $10/month ($120 a year), while the Advanced Wellness Care Coverage costs $25/month ($300 a year). Members can add a wellness care plan to cover annual checkups, vaccines, and tests, microchips, or spaying/neutering. Flea/heartworm preventive medication and an annual dental cleaning are covered on the Advance Wellness option.
Preventive Care (Optional)
Total Annual Benefit: $250
Annual Total Premium for Preventive Care: $119.40
Offers the same coverage as the basic preventive care option with the addition of:
Total Annual Benefit: $500
Annual Total Premium for Preventive Care: $299.40
Enrollment with PetPremium comes with the reassurance of a 30-day full refund guarantee. As long as customers don't receive any reimbursements for claims in the first 30 days of their policy, they can cancel it for a full refund in that period.
The waiting period for illness coverage is somewhat average (30 days), but the good news here is that there is only a one-day waiting period for accident and wellness coverage. Any costs associated with the treatment, diagnosis, or surgery for ligament or knee conditions that occur during the first 12-month policy period are not covered.
While PetPremium will never cancel coverage on a pet, the premium will adjust as the pet gets older. An older pet’s premium is going to be higher as they are more at risk for certain illnesses and conditions.
PetPremium’s reimbursement turnaround time is relatively average for the pet insurance industry. The company typically averages to reimburse members in two weeks or less. PetPremium’s policy is to reimburse pet owners within at least 30 days from receipt of all required information.
PetPremium’s two coverage plans seem to cover most things a pet owner would want, plus the fact that you can add on the wellness plan means customers can get the comprehensive coverage and peace of mind knowing that their pet is covered against accidents, illnesses, and all the routine care vet bills. The one-day accident and wellness waiting period is another nice component coupled along with the 30-day money-back guarantee, is a solid choice for pet owners.
However, owners with older pets might want to avoid this company as their pet’s premiums increase with age. Also, the reimbursement time is not as fast as others in the pet insurance industry.
We're on a mission to empower consumers to make the best decisions and connect confidently with companies that deserve their business.
