The Bad

  • Limited Service Area
  • No NPMA Affiliation
  • No Termite Control

Limited Service Area

BRD Pest Solutions only serves homeowners in the Greater Utah County area. While this service area represents several thousands of homeowners, it is still quite narrow compared to those of leading pest control companies like Terminix, whose service area is at the national level. This disparity can leave smaller companies at a disadvantage in terms of name recognition. Leveraging verified BRD Pest Solutions reviews can be an effective way to level the playing field and promote the company’s quality of service to potential customers.

No NPMA Affiliation

BRD Pest Solutions does not appear to be affiliated with the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), an organization well regarded within the pest control industry that promotes high standards of professionalism and use of eco-friendly products among local and national pest control providers. While lack of NPMA-backed accreditations like QualityPro and GreenPro does not signify poor quality on the company’s part, they can sometimes make the difference for a homeowner comparing multiple providers.

No Termite Control

The pest control company does not appear to provide specialized termite control treatment options, which often involve the identification and eradication of any termite colony the technician comes across, as well as the repair of any structural damage the termite infestation might have caused.

The Bottom Line

BRD Pest Solutions covers a basic selection of pests and is equipped to handle most insect and rodent problems. The company provides full interior and exterior pest prevention services and gives customers an easy to use online portal to manage their account. If homeowners are looking for additional specialized services like termite control or wildlife control, they will likely need to consult another company serving Utah County.

Jason Ray

My experience with BRD Pest Control started when a young man came to my door soliciting for the business. I was told that they were going to be in the area the following week and didn’t want to haul their chemicals back and forth, they would rather use them, so they were offering discounted rates in the area. I was told they would treat my property for all kinds of pests including moles, fire ants, wasps, and mud dobbers and that they would knock down all the nests and webs. I listened to his pitch and after being assured that I could cancel their service anytime though they recommended at least 3 treatments as base and maintenance treatments afterward. And they would always text before coming out, so we weren’t caught by surprise. Eventually I decided it wouldn’t be a bad idea to use their service. This was very clearly a huge mistake on my part. The first “treatment” my property received was July 31, 2024. I got the text, the guy showed up later than he said he would, and my wife said the tech had just left when got home from work, I found that no webs or nests had been removed and the only evidence of anything being done around my house was a pile of dumped out granulated material in my driveway. My wife was told by the tech that he ran out of chemicals and would be back later. In his tech comments on their web site he reported that he couldn’t complete the job because of the number of nests and wasp activity and damaged roofing. There is no damaged roof at my home at all, and the nests and wasps are why I agreed to the services to start with. I was charged for the full visit and they never finished. The second “treatment” was on September 20th, the company sent a text that they were coming for a second service. I asked them when they planned on finishing the first one, to which I was told they would “make it right” on this visit. I couldn’t believe it when they took advantage of my trust again. In the techs comments that I could see in their report, he said the service was completed. That he removed the nests and did everything. However, he told my wife before he left that his brush broke, and he couldn’t finish; he didn’t even go into the back yard. Again, I was charged full price, and the service was never completed. At this point, I replied to an email from them, reminded them of what I had been promised by the techs already and that not one complete treatment had been carried out. I told them not to bother coming back out, as there clearly wasn’t any need. The response I got back was I would have to talk to a different department, they couldn’t do anything. I, quite irate at this point, said “No, I’ve told you, that is enough. Don’t come back.” Now a couple of months ago, another tech showed back up unannounced, saying that he was scheduled to be here. My wife told him I had already emailed the company, and his services were no longer required. It wasn’t long after that that I received a call from the account manager of BRD who told me he didn’t know why the treatments were never completed and the techs shouldn’t have said they would be. I was then told that unless I had a recording of the salesperson telling me I could cancel at any time, that I would be charged a fee for the rest of the remaining visits. OR he would give me $50 off the next visit, which quite frankly was even more a slap in the face than not honoring the salespeople’s promises. When I asked to speak to someone higher in the company, I was told he was it. So now, not only have they not held up to their end of the agreement and completed even one treatment, but I am also expected to pay a $337.71 fee for 3 more “treatments”.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Not only did their treatments not work, but it took several phone calls to cancel the service. They even sent out a "specialist" to see what was going on, and when he got mosquito bites he said he would recommend the contract be terminated because "it was obviously not working". Since then, they have called several times, and even sent another technician out to treat my yard. Finally, today, they told me that they would terminate the contract. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
