File Your Own Documents

Clients have to file legal documents on their own. Rocket Lawyer does not submit the reports to an appropriate government agency, this will need to be done by the client. Although this company makes you file these forms yourself, it does give step-by-step instructions to help its clients fill out these forms.

Lack of Attorney Information

Rocket Lawyer does not give any information about how the attorneys and other legal staff in its network are screened. There is also no written standard on the website on how thorough the Rocket Lawyer team will review your documents for accuracy.

I signed up for a free trial membership in order to access a Will and Last Testament document template. After doing so, I saw lots of products and services I didn't need and chose to cancel the account in order to avoid paying a monthly fee for things I don't need. I do appreciate the free template and your company will be at the top of my list if I need to consider an online service of such in the future. Nayomi was pleasant, kind, and wonderful to deal with when I phoned in to cancel my membership. If only every phone support/customer service person was that great!!!

I love this service. It has helped me a lot to draft and get formal signatures. I don't need Adobe for formal signing-in anymore. Adobe lost my formal document when I stopped the membership. I did not intend to sign up for the subscription and was charged $39.99 on my company credit card for over two years ($1,000+). The charge was small enough that it flew under my approval radar and ran on until it was noticed almost by accident. These types of subscription scams are not uncommon and we clearly missed this one. I consider these deceptive trade practices and I anticipate that your company and others with similar business practices will likely end up on the wrong end of a class action suit. Your Customer Service agent Kristina was the only positive experience that I have had with your organization and managed to get me a very small refund...I think she did as much as she could within her delegated authority to address my issue, which I appreciate....I give her high marks and I give your company the lowest marks possible due to your deceptive practices.

Deceptive "free trial." Charged my $39.99 for five months without any confirmation that a free trial had ended or that I've made payments. My attempts to reach out to customer support were unsuccessful. Voicemails to no one. Emails with no response. Finally one email response offered a "courtesy" of refunding one month's bill. This was unacceptable as I had not used any of the services. Finally i was able to connect with a customer service rep on the phone who was very understanding and kind and fixed my issue, refunding me the full amount.

I had used Rocket Lawyer many moons ago to download a document I needed. Once I grabbed the document, I didn’t see it as being something I would really ever use. So I cancelled my subscription. I thought anyway. I’m seriously forgetful and I might have not completed some steps I needed to do. Honestly the best customer care support I’ve ever received in my 8 year experience as a student and entrepreneur. Customer service representative was very patient and sweet, took time to understand my name, patiently reviewed my concern and explained why it’s s taking time on their end. Most importantly complimented me for being patient which was unexpected. At any circumstances when I raise my initial round for my startup, I’d consider rocket lawyer. Jacob is awesome! I was really upset about Rocket Lawyer emailing my printer and causing a printer jam. Jacob was able to calm me down with his smooth voice and professionalism. I'm eating a beefy 5 layer burrito from Taco Bell so that probably helped too because I was hangry. I I fixed the paper jam and Jacob unsubscribed my printer email from the spam which was caused by my narcissistic abusive adoptive father trying to get a power of attorney over me by using Rocket Lawyer. I changed my printer email. We had a good laugh and Jacob and I bonded. Thanks Rocket Lawyer for this wonderful experience and opportunity I would have never had had otherwise since I don't use Rocket Lawyer for anything really. Shout out to Taco bell for being so tasty. I am truly thankful for God blessing me with you, Rocket Lawyer, being available for use by me (and anyone else) to get my divorce papers, not only completed to the fullest extent necessary, but completed with all the legal wording and setup of the pages, without leaving anything out. I trust that because of the formatting being legally correct, and I believe I didn't leave anything out of the papers at this point, that should my soon-to-be ex-husband agree with everything in our divorce papers and sign them, I will hopefully have my divorce granted shortly by the judge and be free of the living nightmare I have suffered with for a little over 3 years now. I loved being able to create an agreement using their interactive template. Super easy. Then it sent the document to the party I wanted to have sign it and edit it. Then, I messed up and didn't cancel the free subscription in time because my website designer got COVID and kept asking for more time. I requested for a refund and it was issued immediately without any questions. Also, their software is very easy to use and enabled us to generate the required legal document immediately. It was very easy to create the corporate by laws for my company. I needed them for the PPP loan I got from the government. I had never had any nor the need for any. I canceled my account because I don't really need any of your services any more. Also $39.99 per month is an extravagant amount to basically keep you on retainer. I would have been happy to pay $5 or $10 for the service I used. Maybe you should start charging a la carte for your services.

Well first of all I cannot believe that Florida doesn't have a law on evicting squatters or a bum from your residence you have to go through the court system instead of calling a police officer and have them evicted. My experience with Rocket Lawyer was very user friendly and when I called to cancel my subscription they were very nice about it and didn't pressure me to keep using their web site.

I used Rocket Lawyer for a one time Confidentiality Agreement. At this time I do not need to continue the service, but as I progress, I see the benefit of maintaining the service for future business documents I will be needing on a regular basis. Signing up for the service was quick and easy, discontinuing the service was the same.
