What types of moves do you handle?

Local, long distance, storage in transit, labor only, packing, and white glove delivery.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed with the NCUC and insured.

What happens if my belongings are damaged?

In the event of damage, our claims department would work with you to come up with the best solution.

Is a deposit required?

No, we currently do not require a deposit to book your move

The type of estimate is based on the distance associated with your move

Can I arrange a move without me being there?

We require at least someone, 18 years or older, to be present throughout the entirety of the move to sign the paperwork and present payment.

What does Port City Movers not move?

What happens if I need to reschedule?

We will work with you to coordinate a new date as long as it is available. We do require at least a 48 hour notice for rescheduling.

The ENTIRE process was easy peasy and staff was extremely helpful and friendly . This was my first experience with a pod storage and moving service , and they made it easy. And affordable. “Josh” was our pod delivery driver…he was awesome . The pod itself was EXTREMELY clean ! All in all….a VERY pleasant experience. And….will use them again. And Again.

I can’t say enough good things about Port City Movers. First of all, the price was very affordable, no hidden fees, etc. Our movers were Ashton and Steve. They were amazing!! They took such care, wrapping every piece of furniture so carefully, handling everything they moved the same. They were careful, quick, and so kind! My daughter used them twice and I will not hesitate to use them again! If you need movers who are careful, quick, and kind, call Port City Movers……you won’t be disappointed!!

From my first phone calls with Megan and my first visits with Sarah, who came out to give me an estimate for moving my entire household, I felt like I was dealing with very knowledgeable professional movers. Even more important to me, at that time of emotional turmoil, I felt their kindness and patience. When the moving day came, the crew that arrived was just as wonderful. They were all careful, fast, and efficient. My move involved three separate stops for the truck , but because the crew was able to work so quickly, my furniture was in my new apartment much faster than I expected, and my bill for the move turned out to be lower than expected. Port City Movers are just the BEST! Their storage facility is Top Notch, too!

Incredible moving company. This was such. Wonderful luxury, they handled EVERYTHING. I had to move my apartment into a storage unit, and Chance and Lamarco were phenomenal at this. They were so nice and fast and careful with my stuff. Wrapped it up, moved it, thought through how to re-pack it all in storage. Everybody was so great that there isn’t even anything else to say! Booking was a very pleasant and personal experience as well. Great company, fair prices, I will only use them from now on!

I had an unusual moving situation in that I moved from one third story apartment unit to another third story apartment unit one building over. And I have LOT of stuff. No van needed. Just movers carrying furniture and boxes down the stairs, down the sidewalk, and up more stairs. But they rolled with it and did an exemplary job. One of their team came out ahead of time and gave me an estimate, so there were no surprises. This was probably my best moving experience and these guys were champs, because I know it was a difficult job, but they were professional and courteous all the way. I would use them again and recommend them to anybody. You can’t go wrong with this team.

Rent by month work for me when I was moving because I needed to store some stuff till I bought a building at my new home. They have the right sizes for what ever you need to move.Pods are very clean when delivered. Delivery was on time and picked up when I was done. Price of pods reasonable and option to pay on line. I wish I could remember the name of the guys that dropped off and picked it up. Very professional, and super friendly. Port City was the only company that kept checking back with us to see if we had any questions or issues before our move. Their quote was detailed and competitive. The really nice part was that we had a big local move, and instead of loading everything one day and unloading the next, they moved everything we needed to spend the first night in our new home, then the rest of it the next day, so no need to get a hotel!

Great experience and love the indoor/heated and cooled storage. I don't get dust, dirt, bugs, etc all over my stuff. It's good clean storage all the time. I do keep a flashlight around becasue the lighting doesn't get all the way to the back of a 30' unit. Also had a great experience with the movers if you need one, they did an excellent job working smart, hard, and timely.

Port City Movers is a full service moving company that took care of my needs during a recent renovation. They packed my furniture using many furniture pads and plastic wrap to protect it during transport and storage. They stored in a climate controlled facility and my furniture came back in the same shape as before. The process was simple and only took one upfront call to acquire both the moving and storage services. All employees of Port City Movers were very professional and careful. Amazing!! Port City was professional, caring, efficient, courteous, and well-versed in how to handle my move. Antiques were handled with kit-gloves, my furniture was in tact and there were no dings! Everything was well wrapped and carefully handled. I would recommend them for any move.

We have used Port City Movers for three moves and have been extremely satisfied all of the time. They are very professional and respectful of your home and your belongings. They are courteous and helpful and work hard to satisfy your needs. Some of our moves were more complex as they required things leaving storage and others going into storage. They managed all of this very well.

We used Port City Movers to move from our Louisiana storage unit to our new home in NC. Not only was their bid lower than a competitor but they used a dedicated truck and driver just for us AND they worked with our specific scheduling needs for loading in LA and unloading in NC. We would 100% use them again and absolutely recommend them as reputable movers who kept their word regarding cost and schedule. What I had anticipated as being a stressful moving process simply wasn’t- it could not have gone more smoothly!

Port City movers cares about the people they are moving and handles all furniture with the care as if it we're their own and if all items were made of glass or were your baby infant. Quite impressive I would say. I am so glad I went with them, I picked them out of the blue and will use them again next year when we move. We had a very smooth, moving experience with Port City movers., From beginning to end; from the time, sales person came out to give us our estimate the end of all the boxes being put in our apartment. We had three movers. They were very pleasant. They even moved a big hair off of our wall to put in the garage and a big desk at our office to the garage for someone else to pick up. I never heard one grumble from them and they worked constantly and never stopped till they were finished. I would highly recommend Port City
