The Bad

  • Delayed Delivery
  • Damaged Belongings

Delayed Delivery

As is common among a number of moving services, delivery timelines are tricky as multiple jobs are being balanced and goods are being moved from trucks to storage and then back onto a truck. It is not uncommon for delivery to be later than initially promised. Some customer reviews have mentioned this being an issue, so be aware before signing any contract that delayed delivery is a possibility.

Damaged Belongings

When you put your personal belongings and furniture in the hands of a moving service, you expect them to be treated with respect and care. There have been instances in which furniture has been damaged to the point that it is no longer usable. Boxes have also been smashed damaging personal belongings and household goods during transportation. This is not an overly common experience, but it does happen every so often causing negative customer reviews.

gavel

The Bottom Line

After extensive research and consideration, we recommend you consider getting a free moving estimate from Moving Nation as you are preparing to move. Pricing can vary depending on when you are looking for local, long distance, or interstate moving services. Perks to using this company during your move are include free estimates, packing and unpacking services, help loading and unloading your belongings from the moving truck, local and long distance moving services, and fairly good customer reviews.

The challenges that you may face using this company are not uncommon to the moving service industry. These include possible delays in delivery and the possibility of furniture or other goods being damaged during the moving process.

Moving Nation understands how stressful moving time is for most people and their assistance during our move made a chaotic and confusing time much more bearable. For that, they have my strongest recommendation. My story: A good promotion uprooted me from Kansas where I have lived for 17 years and plonked me down in California, which I haven’t even visited before. But to complicate matters, I was required to turn up within 2 weeks. Fortunately, Moving Nation empathized with my situation and gave me a massive discount on a piggyback move within the window I had to travel.Once they came into the picture, everything just fell into place. I arrived ahead of time to take over the manager’s position and they delivered our things on a weekend so my husband didn’t have to handle it alone. I don’t think I could ever recommend any other moving company!

I wish I could go back in time and erase all the times I used movers other than Moving Nation, some who were scam artists and others who were just hopelessly clueless part-timers. By contrast, here you get consummate professionals who know the ins and outs of moving houses. Let me just be clear that Moving Nation does not come cheap like the part-timers I mentioned. If you want to compromise professionalism for economy, these guys are not for you. But in return you get hard workers, dedicated support and actual competence. Your choice.

Moving Naion have really accomplished something by pulling off my 4-bedroom house move all the way from NY to SC without a hitch. This is not the first time I have used professional movers but I believe it is the first time that I have been so pleased with the end result. The movers really knew what they were doing and I am happy that I got what I paid for. I also want to mention that the sales team is just as good at their own job at making it all come together. I shall use them again.

Writing this review as a thank you for Moving Nation doing a supremely excellent job with our move to Dallas. It was a massive project a 6-bedroom house on three levels so getting the details right, making sure every box ended up where it was supposed to go, all the while ensuring that nothing got broken was no mean feat. And all that after the long drive from my old place! It comes down to a good, positive attitude. I think the management has done an amazing job of instilling the right values in their people. I recommend this company.

I am going to stick with Moving Nation based on my personal experiences not reviews. This was my second time using them but the first time reviewing them. After the first time, I used another company expecting the same type of service and they really disappointed me. Now, I am making up for that missed review and telling you that these guys are something special. There are many companies that charge the same or higher but they cannot compare to the quality that Moving Nation delivers. I will use them again and write a review every time.

My experience with Moving Nation is pretty much in line with all the other positive reviewers here. This is a company that treats its clients right and does a good job of delivering great service but still keeping costs reasonable. You will pay a bit more than you would for some other movers but the quality difference is really stark. You can tell pretty much from the first look their trucks are new, uniforms are clean, the way they speak is professional. Just a very good company from the get go. Use them.

I really like that Moving Nation is one of the most experienced moving businesses that deliver to Texas. It gives you the confidence to be able to give all the things that you own into their custody without stressing out over whether everything will arrive safe and sound at the destination. While that experience is I think the biggest reason that I chose them, a lot of their appeal also comes down to reasonable costs and a good admin team. Putting all these factors together, I think they are way ahead of the competition.

I would definitely recommend Moving Nation to you for your next move based on what a phenomenal job they did for me in my recent move from Portland, WA to Baltimore, MD Right off the bat, let me tell you that they are not the cheapest movers. There are many companies that will charge you less but they will compromise on quality. Here, you will always get premium service by their movers and the customer service support team, as well as clean vehicles and equipment. In my books, it is a difference worth paying for. 5 stars from me.

For those who are lucky enough to be able to consider quality over just cost, you cannot go wrong with this company. I used to go for the cheapest option before but a couple of terrible experiences later, I have definitely become a stickler for quality when it comes to entrusting all the contents of my house to strangers. This is the second time I have used them and can assure you that their performance is consistently strong. It may seem like you are getting a massively better deal with other movers but donít say I didn’t warn you.

If you are looking for consistently good movers who take their job seriously, Moving Nation is the first and last option you need to consider. I have used them for more than a dozen moves going back years and they have proven themselves time and again. If you have no idea about moving and are flying blind, you can do all your hours of research and come to the same conclusion that I can just give you right now ñ this is the best moving company. Save yourself a lot of time and effort and just hire them

After trying to save money but getting ripped off by rogue movers the last time round, I opted for the full service professionals at Moving Nation this time. Sure, they are more expensive but it isnít some sort of a scam the additional cost goes into training their staff not just in moving essentials but also in teaching them customer service. No rude, disinterested personnel here, just a great bunch of people working together to make your move fast, simple and painless.

My relocation from Portland, OR to Orlando, FL could not have gone better! Moving Nation were on time for the loading and delivered everything ahead of schedule because I asked them to try and hurry things up. Their speed aside, they also do a good job of securing your things so that there is minimal vibration or chance of damage during transit. It is these small touches that tell you that these people are in it not just for the money but to do a good job. I will most certainly hire them again if I am moving in the future.

I was forced to look for movers at the last minute because of a scheduling conflict with my new employers in South Carolina, where we were moving. It was an added and unexpected expense but considering how well and how smoothly everything turned out, I am quite glad that we chose Moving Nation. In fact, now that I have seen how much more convenient it is to have professionals handle the job, I am sorely tempted to use movers in the future. And I bet you that it will this same, very professional and reliable company once again.

I have switched movers several times because not one of them managed to handle everything to my satisfaction, until now. Moving Nation is the first company to tick all the boxes and really go out of their way to ensure that I was happy. They also did wonderfully at being punctual, both for the pickup and the drop off. If you can spare some extra cash, this is where you can spend it. Some people might forego them because their rates are slightly higher than the average moving company but, all things considered, they are the best option out there.

The last time I used a moving company, I had such a terrible experience that I almost swore that I would never use movers again. A recent injury forced me to break my rule but now I am glad I did because Moving Nation is the polar opposite of what I thought all moving companies were like. Each person on their team is professional, polite, well-informed and qualified for the job they do. My 2-bedroom house was moved and I did not even have to lift a finger… which is a good thing since I am recovering from a broken hand.

A little weather delay caused a bit of a hiccup on the day of my move but it wasn’t anything major and I am actually pretty pleased with how the whole thing went, all things considered. I hired Moving Nation because they came highly recommended and after this experience, I can totally understand why. The movers did their best to comply with the estimated time they had given me but had to stop when the rain got really bad. Still, they finished loading up the 3 bedrooms of stuff and got them to destination safely so I am happy.

We had a very nice experience using Moving Nation to move our daughter into her new 2-bedroom apartment in New Jersey. The quote we were given was one of the most competitive considering the short time they said they would take. We were a bit skeptical at first but decided to try it anyway since the quote was among the lowest of all the companies we asked. Fortunately, they kept their word and delivered as promised on both the time and the cost. We don’t plan on moving ourselves but have recommended Moving Nation to our family and friends.

Moving Nation is a company that I now really believe in. I had used them before and not really paid attention to the details but this time I was a lot more involved and the sales manager took the time to explain to me how the rates change on different days, how they charge by volume and other nitty gritty. In the end, using his advice, I think I saved a few hundred dollars, which is amazing that a company would do for a customer. I am sold!

BEWARE! I suspect all of the positive reviews here are fake... They offer low bids that seem too good to be true after shopping around and all the horror stories you hear and read about, but.... They will jack up the price after the fact, and if you can't pay the new price (thousands of dollars) they keep your entire house full of things until you can (assuming you can ever afford to pay). Stuff is still in their possession after months, they also stop responding and now ignore the letters from lawyers. No cash, no response, no stuff.... Guess they will be keeping a house full of things. All the special mementos from a life, all gone. This is a criminal extortion ring, and you sign a contract agreeing to it so you will have NO legal recourse. BEWARE!

Terrible is an understatement ! I called the night before to confirm. Didn't show up! They literally stiffed me on moving day! Sent guys with NO truck, and NO packing material, NO uniforms, NO business cards, NO ID, who offered to buy their own packing material right then and have ME rent a U- Haul .. if I would have wanted to rent my own U-Haul truck, I wouldn't have hired a moving company. Can you say SCAM??? When I went outside to tell the guys I couldn't get a hold of the company, they were gone. The office hung up on me 5 times when I called customer service, left me on hold multiple times and I called the salesperson over 20 times from 3 different phones.. I cant believe they have 4 stars????? I ended up having to get another moving company and cancel my deposit on my credit card. Eric was initially a great salesperson but refused to take my calls, texts, or emails after this happened. DON'T USE this company!! No one has even heard of this company!

Hello dear reader, I pray listen well – and bear ye witness to my tale of woe; of movers whose help was a living Hel, and for whom there is no rating too low. My ask was simply to just use one truck, and to this one request they did agree. But once cash changed hands, I was out of luck; instead of one truck, they would now use three. I wish this lie would also be the last, But beyond lying, they also weren’t fast. I called to complain, three trucks would not do. “Too bad,” they said, “you signed and you agreed.” What their salesman said mattered not, I knew, Phone conversations leave nothing to read. Lo, they did say they recorded all calls! So I bid them play our conversation, And hoped to avoid any more pitfalls. But, alas, I found more consternation. The files, it seemed, were all there - except one. “It’s unplayable,” claimed Moving Nation. Three hours we spent, arguing on the phone; But customer service refused our pleas. “We’ve got you now,” said the rep’s icy tone, “You’ve no choice but to pay our surprise fees.” At this point despair started to begin. With less than seven days until the move, Our contract made it clear - we were locked in. We told ourselves things can only improve. Unfortunately, this was just the start. There’s worse yet to come, but that’s the next part. At least the movers came on the right date, Though they did give a two hour time line, And arrived forty and five minutes late. They packed our things, and again made us sign. We should have known, by this point in the tale, To expect trickery to be in play, They used fine print to change the terms of sale, And increased costs which we then had to pay. “The worst’s done,” we thought, but we were naïve. Now they had our stuff. There’d be no reprieve. Moved into our new place, yet without stuff. We called about our delivery date. As you expect, the news we got was rough. Our things may come up to thirty days late! Ten days, contract said - thirty's too delayed! But no, the fine print snuck something in deep. Their receipt stated, beyond that we paid, “ONE MONTH ‘fore we’d have our bed back to sleep.” Cared not what they said during their sales pitch It’s just their M.O. to bait and then switch. Disney was planned, but they cared not for me. Asked if they expected us to postpone, They said, “Hope not,” but gave no guarantee. They told me that one reaps what they have sewn. A month passed us, without our clothes or bed. Phone calls showed they did not know when they’d come. By now our hope for good service was dead. Completely at their mercy, we were glum. Fearing that they might want to punish us, We grew meek, and did not put up a fuss. Finally, our delivery day came. It arrived over three hours late, mind you - but of course they did not accept the blame At least no shuttle was needed; that’s true. Our fragile boxes all came rather squished. Our bed and chairs were, of course, broken too. They told us to report it if we wished. WE would report it, to them and to you. So noble reader, we draw near the end, But don’t leave ‘fore I tell you of my friend. This tale does not end with me and my things, It’s not just me that was duped by these crooks. They lost my wife’s crafting box and some strings, And gave us someone else’s photo books. Some wedding pictures, and a child’s first steps, All of this left with us without a thought. We found names and called the company reps, We knew the owners must be quite distraught. Moving Nation did nothing; one more fail. We found the owners, and sent it by mail. And so it ends, this moving tale of woe, With every moving fear all come true, My things broken and lost; my spirits low, Few recourse options, but I could review! Please heed my warning, whoever you are, Do not listen to their saccharin lies For the worst; Moving Nation sets the bar. It was so bad, I hope their business dies. I have nothing more to say or to tell. Moving Nation, your business ethics smell!

A losing combination of incompetent and dishonest. We are ex-military and have experienced many moves. Avoid this company, initial seemingly good price will rapidly escalate and exceed cost of more established companies. For accurate inventory, we walked through our house with one of their employees who took notes, videos, photos, gave a verbal estimate of 2500. On moving day, our estimated cubic footage increased to 3400. In addition, we were told our wine could not be moved, despite their employee having photographed it and describing how it would be packed. Problems upon delivery with poor communication, two of the locally-hired movers quit midday after a dispute with Moving Nation. Customer service is filled with disagreeable characters, who after admitting they made mistakes, rudely told me they had gone “above and beyond” with our move by doing what they initially agreed to do. In addition, it was difficult to find a third party company to insure your goods as Moving Nation is not established enough. Avoid at all costs.

Do NOT use this company! You will be sorry if you try to cancel. My husband called for a quote and talked to Trent. He provided my husband a quote. When my husband advised Trent we wanted to get other quotes and discuss our options, Trent convinced my husband that we could hold the date/ time and price by placing a deposit. Trent continuously said “don’t worry, you have 7 days to cancel”. Based on Trent’s explanation, my husband made a deposit payment. Later, we received and reviewed the inventory email and discovered that many items were missing from the quote. After reading other reviews, we became concerned and uncomfortable with allowing this company to handle our property. We decided to cancel. One business day (2 calendar days) later, my husband emailed Moving Nation to cancel, following the process required by the company. We received a cancellation confirmation email but no information about a refund. My husband called to ask about a refund and was transferred to a supervisor named John who advised we had missed the cancellation period. My husband told the John that Trent said we had 7 days to cancel and it had only been 2 days. John advised their policy is that cancellation must occur more than 7 days before the move date. This information was not shared during the call with Trent and, in fact, that initial call was less than 7 days before the move. Therefore, Trent should have advised we could NOT cancel at all without losing our deposit. When my husband questioned this, the supervisor began to scream and curse. Losing a deposit is bad but handing our property over to this company could have been far worse. Clearly, they don’t stand by their word and are out to make a sale in any means possible. Do yourself a favor, save yourself a huge hassle and keep your money safe by staying far away from Moving Nation!!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! All the reviews that you see that says that these people are the best ever were more than likely written by friends and or employees. First they will be all professional and kind until they get your deposit. I worked on a moving plan with salesman Mike V for a couple of days. He and I worked on a plan of "White Glove" packers coming to my home and packing my belongings. "You won't have to lift a finger" Then the next day the trucks were to show up to move everything that had been packed the day before into the trucks and I would follow them down to Arizona where I had already found a storage unit that would still be open by the time we all arrived. The day that the "White Glove Packers" were supposed to arrive (between 9am and 11am.) I received a phone call at 9:45am and was told that the packers were not coming that day and that they will come the next day and pack and move all in the same day. I explained to the person that's not what we agreed upon. All my plans for my 88 year old mother-in-law, wife and dogs would have me losing  money on flights and hotel rooms already rented. When I asked to speak to a manager, I received a phone call from Lisa who treated me like I was a fool and said that the plans that Mike and I had worked out could have never happened that way. I told her that was the whole reason that I went with Moving Nation. Then she told me very sarcastically that I should call him. When I tried, he was "On Break and that he would call me when he gets back" Well, he never did. When I called him later I was told that he had left for the day because of a family emergency. I had to scramble and cancel reservations, rebook hotel rooms, pull favors from extended family to get everything adjusted to Moving Nations new plans. The day that the movers arrived 10 guys descended on my house. I had told them multiple items not to take that they packed anyway. One of those things being the blow up mattress that I was going to be sleeping on that night. After everything was loaded onto the truck (essentially being held hostage) is when I was hit with a bill that was $3000+. more than I was quoted. When I asked why. I was given some convoluted excuse of cubic square footage. I told them that Mike V had guaranteed me that he had way over estimated my belongings and added even more just to make sure that the quote he gave me would go down.   I then noticed that a burner cover was missing off the top of the stove. The mover tried to convince me that it had been missing before they arrived. I was very upset and said that we are leaving this stove for the new owners and that's when he looked up on line and told me that I can order one on line for 7 dollars. I put on gloves and he and I looked all over the house and I actually looked through the trash can in my driveway. That's when I found the washer and dryer moving kit that I had express delivered to my house for the move. I'm not sure if they are damaged because we are not able to hooked them up at our rental house. The movers had just thrown them away and moved the washer and dryer with out it. That's after I had pointed the packages earlier and asked if they knew how to use the move kit, I was told yes. When I found the unopened move kit in the trash the head mover again tried to tell me that I was the one who must of thrown it away.  But here is the icing on this terrible cake. After I arrived to the rental home that's when my wife told me that the movers had not made it to the storage unit at 9am like we were told, but at 11am which almost made us miss the ability to get our keys to the rental home. That's when we found that our belonging's were just balled up and shoved into the wardrobe boxes.TV screens scratched, multiple boxes were miss labeled and we then found that money and prescription medications were stolen. To add insult to injury Lisa called me nine days later and told me that I owed and additional $726 dollars because she wrongly had put down that I had already paid it and if I didn't she threatened to send me to collections. I called Mike V and guess what, he couldn't talk to me because "He was on break"  If you have to do a move PLEASE do yourself a favor and go with a well named company. This company (moving nation) is not true to their word. I was promised all sorts of all star service for my move and things seemed ok until moving day. I packed my own belongings and so the responsibility of the movers was just to load what I had packed and wrap and load furniture. To begin with, I was given an arrival window for the movers from 11-2 pm on July 8th with a call an hour before the movers were on the way. At 1 pm I had received no calls or notifications as to when the movers would arrive so I called customer service. They placed me on hold and then told me the movers would be calling me shortly. I did receive a call a few minutes later stating that the movers would be there around 6 pm because they were coming to Virginia from Maryland! We were planning to be driving from Newport News VA to our new home in Las Vegas by that time, unfortunately we did not get on the road until 1030 pm due to this company's poor planning and delivery of services. I was also promised to have my belongings within 17 business days from July 10th, our first available delivery date. It is now August 2nd (the last day of promised delivery window) and after numerous calls over the last 3 weeks to customer service I have been told the same thing for every call: my belongings were still in scheduling status, meaning all of my property is still sitting in a warehouse in Virginia. There was no reason given as to why it took so long and nobody from customer service can give me any other information from dispatch department. At this point I have been told that there is a $30 reimbursement for each day they are past the delivery window (I'm sure this means each business days, which does not include weekends, so in reality I have been waiting in an empty house for a total of 23 days for my belongings to arrive with no end in sight). I was hesitant to hire a moving company at all due to all the horrendous reviews for every company I researched plus my previous experience with another terrible company. Unfortunately I would not have been able to travel 2500 miles with 2 dogs while towing my car. So I had to hire a moving company. Moving nation had the least amount of complaints and plenty of stellar reviews so I opted to go with them. I have no faith that this company will hold up their end of the bargain and due to all the fine print written into their contracts I am at their mercy. If my belongings arrive unharmed and without anything missing AND I get the reimbursement promised to me I may reconsider my rating but as of now this company is worth ZERO stars. Save yourself the headache and inconvenience and do not use this company! Update: As of August 13, 2019 I have still not received my belongings (picked up July 8), nor do I have a definite delivery date. I was told that the truck was loaded with my property on Friday, August 9, 2019, a full week after the last day of promised delivery window, and that the truck would start travelling on the next day, Saturday, with someone calling me Monday, the 12th, to give me details on when my property would be delivered. I received no calls on Monday so I called Tuesday morning and was told that the driver does not answer and someone would call me back with compensation information along with more information as to where my belongings are. I was called back a few hours later with a reimbursement quote of only $150 off my remaining balance which I verbally agreed to because what other choice did I have? Since it has now been 36 actual days since my move date and I still have no clear answers on when I will receive my things and I was told I would be reimbursed $30 each day my belongings are late I feel that I should have been offered more compensation but what can you do when the fine print says they really have 30 (business) days to get you your property? Upon receipt of the paperwork adjusting my final balance of $2130.75 to include the $150 compensation, the paperwork stated that if I accepted the compensation I would be unable to write any reviews regarding this company. At that time I chose not to accept the reimbursement due to the fact that this company needs to be exposed for their dishonest practices. I do not feel like I shouldn’t be allowed to honestly review them without legal action taken against me for a measly $150 reimbursement after such a horrendous and expensive ($6200) move. And to top it off, I still have no idea when I will receive my property! Please save yourself the trouble and money and do not use this moving company.

Moving Nation made our relocation from Maryland to Georgia a moving nightmare. The move was supposed to be on July 15, but they changed it to the 16th. We were told the crew would be there to pack us up between 8 and 11 AM, probably closer to 8. They didn't arrive until 1 PM, and the van didn't show up until 5 PM, so packed things were just laying around all afternoon. Six men did the packing, and some of them were just throwing things into boxes willy-nilly. One man knocked a hole in the living room wall; when my wife asked who would pay for the repair, the response was that the company would contact her the next day. Never happened. They had to be reminded three times to pack the microwave. The loading wasn't completed until after 9 PM, and the driver told my wife he was tired and might not make the delivery until the 18th. I had left early to ensure that one of us would be at the house in Georgia when the truck arrived, and my wife was supposed to meet me at a hotel in North Carolina, but she got away so late that she only made it to northern Virginia around midnight, with a long drive ahead of her the next day. The van did show up in Georgia the following day late in the afternoon, and I immediately got hit with a $75 charge (cash only) because the house has steps, although we had been told that this charge applied only to apartments. While six men had done the packing and loading, there were only two for the unloading. They didn't start until 4:30, and with only two men to do what six had done, they didn't get done until 12:30 AM. It would have taken even longer had my wife and I not pitched in and done things the movers were supposed to do, like unwrap blankets from furniture and even move some lighter items. The two men piled boxes up in the garage four rows deep up to the ceiling, where we couldn't reach them. Some of the furniture which had been dismantled was not put together correctly (we can't close our dining room table completely), and some was left to us to reassemble. Some boxes were left in the wrong room or even on the wrong floor of the house. The worst came when we started to unpack and found what the packing crew had done. Many things were simply tossed into boxes with unrelated items for no rhyme or reason, and fragile items were thrown in, often poorly or not wrapped at all, with heavy things. My CD player was thrown into a box on top of ceramic figures, and another ceramic figure was wrapped only in a single sheet of thing paper, while a candle was swathed in bubble wrap. Some of my suits, sport jackets, and dress pants were tossed into the bottom of a box, then boxes of shoes and loose shoes piled in on top of them. The contents of my desk drawers where simply dumped into a box, then the desk lamp, which has a glass shade, thrown in on top with no wrapping. Boxes were not marked as to their contents, or incorrectly marked, so we couldn't find essential items in the jumble of boxes all over the house. I had to buy underwear and socks because I couldn't find the box where my things had been packed. Amazingly, not too many items were broken, but my wife's desk chair was damaged beyond use, and a sheet of glass which was on top of the dresser in the master bedroom has never appeared. In short, this company is a disaster.

There is nothing nice that I can say about this company I am 82 years old and I must say that working with this company was the WORST relocation experience of my life!! I have a claim on file with Better Business Bureau MD . They are deceivers and unresponsive. Not only did it take them 7wks and 4 days to finally delivery my property, but there are 10 boxes unaccounted for and breakage of many precious collectibles. Todate the company has ignored my complaints and not responded to any of my correspondence.

Not just bad. They are the worst movers ever. Moved many times with movers and this was the first time I have written a review because people should know that these people are not what the profess to be. No professionalism. Furniture broken, art work damaged, boxes crushed and split open. It started out bad (raised my "binding quote" by $3,000. As I had to be out of my house by next day, I had no choice but to pay. Once they get your deposit and the 7 day window to cancel has passed they get nasty. Save yourself the frustration, anxiety, and pricing scam and use a more reputable mover.
