Owner Anthony Disorbo started his company with fewer than 20 people and today American Van Lines has grown into a full-service moving company with over 100 employees and with an emphasis on customer service and customer loyalty.

It has state-of-the-art private storage facilities available for movers. Private storage units are housed in fireproof and storm proof buildings. Its storage units are licensed and insured for your protection and safety. American Van Lines offers personal storage vaults, climate controlled units, and 24-hour security surveillance. The moving company also specializes in moving pianos, antiques, and fine art pieces.

American was great to work with! Danielle explained everything and answered all my many questions with lots of patience. I’d read horror stories about movers, so I was very apprehensive. Because I booked pretty last minute, they did contract with another mover (Zip) to do the actual move, which freaked me out, but they did a great job. I wasn’t charged one extra penny from what I was quoted. And the movers from zip did a great job. I lost the glass on one picture but everything else was in pristine condition. It did take more than three weeks for my stuff to deliver, and no one could tell me where it was or when it might deliver until the very end…that’s the reason they didn’t get five stars. But the rest of the experience was great! I assume if American had been able to move it themselves, that wouldn’t have been an issue. Overall, great experience!

We were originally planning to move with PODS because some of the other full-service movers we looked at were either too expensive or had poor reviews. That plan fell through when PODS would only deliver within 10 miles of our new home. I then did a more thorough search for some of America’s highest-rated movers, and American Van Lines was on the shortlist. From my first contact with them, the process was simple, straightforward, and professional. Even better, their quote came in lower than the cost of the three PODS containers we had planned to use. Francisco and his partner, who handled our move, were outstanding. They were professional, efficient, and made the entire move go smoothly. My wife and I now look at the PODS setback as a blessing in disguise, because with all the stress that comes with moving, we really did not need the added work of loading and unloading containers ourselves. American Van Lines gets my vote for anyone looking for a great moving company with an excellent team to support them through the process.

They day of delivery the office was very aggressive about getting paid before unloading the truck. This was a corporate move and the office was not available at 8:00am to process payment to American van lines. I was repeatedly harassed by the American van lines agent for payment. This could have been handled better by forwarding the invoice to the company the day before the delivery. The threats of charging to hold my cargo was ridiculous. I cannot recommend American Van Lines at this time.

Tyrell and Robert with Zip Movers were excellent at handling the physical move at both ends. There were some response and explanations lacking from the coordinator. Otherwise everyone was good to deal with. The cost was firm and comparatively reasonable.
