The Good

  • System Features
  • PaySimple Pricing
  • Customer Service

System Features

PaySimple really does have the potential to simplify things for merchants; you can accept debit card, credit card, and ACH/eCheck payments, manage customer data, generate online reporting, and automate billing all from one platform under PCI compliance.

And it allows for unlimited customer data involving invoice billing, recurring billing, recurring payment, payment and appointment reminders, and branded online payment forms and users.

Payment processing covers nearly any payment method including the following:

  • Online payment via online storefronts, a virtual terminal, most online payment forms, and embeddable solutions
  • In-person payment via swipe, key-in, or charging accounts on file for one-time or recurring payments
  • Mobile payment through the PaySimple mobile app for iOS and Android

In addition to its payment solutions, PaySimple generates reporting and business insights and offers customer marketing solutions to clients as an additional service.

PaySimple Pricing

PaySimple's basic payment solution costs $49.95 per month plus a transaction fee starting at 2.49% per transaction and $0.60 + .20% for ACH payment/eCheck processing.

PaySimple says it truly makes payment simple by including everything in the monthly fee with no contracts or cancellation fees. Pricing includes unlimited invoicing, free mobile app access, and unlimited customer support.

If you process more than $50,000 per month, you may qualify for lower processing rates. There are options for larger businesses generating more sales which allow for maximum customization. This program offers a high volume discount, API development key, multiple accounts, multiple locations, customer adoption materials, a dedicated account manager, and existing merchant integration.

Customer Service

PaySimple has excellent live customer support via phone and email options. All PaySimple customers receive unlimited free technical support and training from a live person over the phone.

If you need help with your terminal or payment gateway, customer support can assist you. You may be able to use your current card swipe terminal, but if not, the company will get you the right equipment.

You can take advantage of a free 14-day trial if you’re undecided about the product.

The Bad

  • Possible Fees
  • Rate Variance

Possible Fees

PaySimple does not charge an annual PCI compliance fee and states it offers a month to month service with no cancellation fees. However, merchants in some PaySimple reviews have mentioned that they were charged fees that surprised them, including a variable early termination fee.

Therefore, it's of the utmost importance that you read the contract carefully and make note of any miscellaneous fees you'd need to pay under any circumstance. Furthermore, you could possibly negotiate to have some of those fees waived as a condition of the contract. Just remember to get any contract variances in writing.

Rate Variance

Keep in mind that while PaySimple provides rates on their website, they only show the lowest rate in their tiered system, so you may not qualify for the same low rates advertised.

Additionally, PaySimple's website fails to disclose the fact that they employ downgrade fees with their qualified rate quotes.

The Bottom Line

PaySimple has an excellent suite of products to help enhance any business, including branding, efficiency, customer data, and reporting. And they offer unlimited training and support to help get you started quickly with your payment gateway, credit card processing, and other elements of your payment processing system.

However, as should be the case with any merchant account payment service, you should be diligent when it comes to rate-shopping and reading the contract to confirm any fees you will be responsible for.

Switched from Chase Paymentech to PaySimple 6 months ago and immediately saw an average savings per month of .8% on merch fees! I have not had any hidden fees, or questionable actions. I was not solicited by them with the typical call.

Paysimple is a bit of a sham company that brings you in with promises of quick easy processing then turns you over to a bank that does the processing and the bank will charge your customers then withhold funds from you. This is just another scam operation with pay simple signing you up and skimming off the top of your funds which both they and the bank collect immediately, them holding your funds from you. I have done business with many processors and still do in my other businesses, the reason I chose this company is because of the recurring payment program and right now my customers are getting charged but my funds are being with held. I would recommend you do not do business with this company if you want to get paid. They are a rip off

Horrible experience with Paysimple. I filed with the BBB and FTC. They took over $550 from my small business. Before you get involved with them you should watch my video screencast of all the crap charges. Also be aware that they are 2 companies the other being Global Payments. Add up all the charges from these two companies to see what you have really lost. https://smalljobsdenver.com/my-paysimple-review-complaint-denver-colorado/

Great merchant. I was able to set up an account in 30 min and start charging cards for my new business very quickly. Decent prices and no money held in reserve.

MENGJIAO CHEN ,

I can't believe I have to give one star to this company. Before I set up with anything, I am charged of 47$. I had the account for one week without using any of their service. There is no refund back to me. I am sick of them stealing my money. They don't disclose much to you when they advertise. Be aware.

I have terrible experience with this company when I run into problem with their credit cards processor that they referred me to. Stay away from this company and hire only local company in your market like your bank.
