CDGcommerce was founded in a studio apartment in 1998 by a husband and wife team, Chris and Laura West. They founded CDGcommerce with the goal of providing professional merchant services and with a focus on always putting merchants' best interests first. Over the last 19 years, they have provided solutions that reduce the risk, lower the cost, and simplify the process of accepting payments on your website, in-store, or on-site.

The Good

  • No Contract or Cancellation Fees
  • Payment Gateways
  • Free Terminal Program
  • Mobile App

No Contract or Cancellation Fees

CDGCommerce offers month-to-month payments with no contract or cancellation fee. Also, it does not charge PCI compliance or non-compliance fees.

Payment Gateways

CDGCommerce offers two free payment gateways for online merchants: Quantum Gateway and Authorize.net. Quantum Gateway is a sister company of CDG, so merchants using Quantum would be able to contact CDG for all inquires. Authorize.net is the most popular gateway in the industry and typically comes with a setup fee, extra monthly fee, and extra per transaction fee. CDGCommerce offers this payment option at no additional cost.

Free Terminal Program

With CDGCommerce you have the option to receive a free terminal placement program that essentially future proofs a merchant’s equipment for just $79/year. If a terminal breaks, malfunctions, or needs to be upgraded down the road, CDG Commerce will overnight you a new terminal at no cost. This contrasts greatly to other providers out there that currently require their clients to buy an upgraded EMV-capable terminal for hundreds of dollars or lose the ability to process credit cards.

Mobile App

CDG Commerce offers a ProcessNow mobile app included with your mobile account type at no extra cost. Additionally, you will receive free mobile readers to make your business even more functional.

The Bad

  • United States Only

United States Only

Currently CDGCommerce offers its services to United States residents only. If you are looking for a merchant service that is globally recognized, you might need to pick a different merchant account provider.

The Bottom Line

CDGCommerce has been providing merchant services to United States residents for the last 19 years. From humble beginnings in a studio apartment, this business has grown to gain the trust and confidence of its customers, clients, and partners. There are many different reasons why you should consider CDGCommerce merchant services: month-to-month payment and no cancellation fees makes it simple to do business with them. The free terminal program and multiple payments gateway will make your personal business experience simple and enjoyable. However, if you are looking for merchant account services that are globally recognizable, you might need to consider a different merchant provider.

I’m not even sure what this company is. They seem to have no problem sending me bills and increasing fees, but answering the phone isn’t on their agenda apparently. I tried to call to cancel my service and they told me they couldn’t’ do it and gave me another number to call. I called the other number twice and no one picked. I’ll be working with my bank to reverse charges and maybe I’ll get their attention! It’s clear from the other negative reviews about this business that I am not the only person this business ripped off!

Please beware that this isn't a legit business. CDG Commerce is an “Independent Sales Office” that is operated by Chris West and his wife. Basically, it’s an online scam that acts as a “middle man” of West American Bank. West American Bank stole $34,246 from my employer’s merchant account by continuing to hold their funds. How much money did Chris W. make off this scam? Who knows, but I am sure it was enough to help finance his aviation hobby.
