Based in Portland, Oregon, Response Now provides affordable medical alert systems. Its management team has over 30 years of life safety experience and designed the mobile medical alert pendant and in the home system to assist with these needs. ResponseNow has three plans to meet every budget: 'Monthly,' 'Quarterly,' and 'Annually.' The service allows for 24/7 monitoring with operators who will dispatch neighbors, friends, family, and emergency responders. Customers can press the alert button as many times as necessary after signing up. The ResponseNow mobile medical alert pendant, Belle, has a battery life up to 30 days after 3 hours of charging. Its Automatic Fall Detection Pendant has a battery life up to 2 years. All medical alert devices come with a lifetime replacement warranty. One downside to this company is that it does not have medical personnel on hand to assist with medical concerns. The customer service is responsible for contacting your contact list or emergency responders.

The Good

  • Long Battery Life
  • Lifetime Replacement Warranty
  • 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Long Battery Life

ResponseNow recognizes that customers don't want to consistently charge their medical alert device, especially because emergencies can happen at any time. With its mobile medical alert pendant, Belle, only 3 hours of charging time is required and the device will hold up to 30 days of battery life. Its Automatic Fall Detection Pendant also carries a long battery life, of more than two years.

Lifetime Replacement Warranty

ResponseNow also claims responsibility for all service and any faulty equipment. It even covers battery replacements without any extra cost. For an 'In The Home' system, and medical emergency buttons, a complete lifetime replacement warranty is included. A ResponseNow Care+ plan is also available for an extra $3.95 per month to cover lost or damaged pendants and consoles.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

While ResponseNow assures that you'll enjoy your medical alert system, if you don't, a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee is available. You simply need to send back the equipment within the first 30 days in order to receive a full refund.

The Bad

  • Expensive shipping
  • Lack of medical personnel
  • Missing online support
  • Home System Range

Expensive Shipping

ResponseNow offers three different plans to meet varying budgets. For the 'Quarterly' and 'Annual' plans, shipping for the equipment is free. However, if you purchase a 'Monthly' plan, then individual accessories ship at a $14.95 cost. Customers may argue that it might be worthwhile to go with a different plan to offset this extra expense.

Lack of Medical Personnel

In the event of an emergency and pressing the alert button, you will be connected with ResponseNow's representatives from a UL-listed monitoring center who will contact your friends and family and emergency responders, if needed. The customer does not list that it collects medical records or has registered nurses or licensed medical professionals on hand to assist with your concerns. If you would like quick access to medical care, then this isn't the medical alert device for you.

Missing Online Support

ResponseNow provides an easy to follow instruction guide with every equipment order and it does provide a lengthy FAQ online. However, the FAQ does not provide equipment troubleshooting details. If you experience technical difficulties, you will need to call customer care directly for assistance.

Home System Range

With ResponseNow, the home system has a basic range of 650 feet. Some top competitors will have a more robust range. However, the range may not matter much depending on the size of your home and the location of the system.

The Bottom Line

From its 'In The Home' system to its mobile medical alert pedant, ResponseNow provides comprehensive medical alert equipment offerings. The equipment comes with a long battery life ranging from 30 days for Belle to 2 years for its Automatic Fall Detection Pendant. The equipment also comes with a lifetime replacement warranty to cover any faulty parts and batteries. You also have the flexibility of a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee to determine if ResponseNow is right for you. If you don't mind calling customer care directly when dealing with technical difficulties and don't see the $14.95 shipping charge on a 'Monthly' plan as an issue, then ResponseNow should meet your medical alert needs. However, if you are seeking quick access to medical personnel, a feature ResponseNow does not offer, then you might want to look at other options.

I have had a Response Now Medical Alert pendaant for about four years. I use it about once every two to three months to check in and thell them I am OK. Very nice, and helpful. Twice, my electricity went off with storms. My ICE people were called right away. I told them I was OK. Response is fast. I like this company very much

I tried three other companies before selecting Response Now because the other companies use AT&T wireless,; AT&T does not work in the area where I live and I was looking for a company that works with Verizon and Response Now does. The first Belle device I received did not work and the company promptly sent me a new device which has been working well. I made several test calls and always got prompt answers. I chose to sign up for a year because there is a saving in the monthly charge.
