LifeBeacon does not offer fall detection capabilities and there are other limitations on its medical alert features and plan offerings, such as cancellation restrictions.

Check out LifeBeacon reviews below to see what customers have to say about the medical alert provider. Unfortunately, LifeBeacon does not yet have a large number of reviews, so we suggest going with a more reputable company with many consumer reviews and positive customer feedback.

The Good

  • LifeBeacon Cost
  • Full Mobile Capabilities
  • 24/7 Professional Medical Alert Monitoring
  • Money-Back Guarantee
  • No Long-Term Contracts

LifeBeacon Cost

LifeBeacon's monthly monitoring cost ranges between $39.99 and $49.99. There is no equipment fee or activation fee, and LifeBeacon does not require customers to sign a long-term contract. Its medical alert services are month-to-month. LifeBeacon offers a full manufacturer's limited warranty on all equipment, and the company has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

LifeBeacon's price point is on par with other top-rated medical alert companies with reasonable monthly rates and no added fees.

Full Mobile Capabilities

LifeBeacon's mobile medical alert device allows consumers to have the ability to travel anywhere outside the home and still be protected. GPS tracking capabilities help friends, family, and medical personnel quickly in the event of an emergency.

Two-way voice technology helps the user speak with dispatchers until help arrives. Instant text notifications are sent to emergency contacts when alarms are triggered. LifeBeacon medical alert devices also feature a 48-hour standby battery life.

24/7 Professional Medical Alert Monitoring

Customers are able to reach trained operators at the push of a button whenever they need help. Bi-lingual operators are available at the UL and CSAA certified central monitoring station upon request. These operators will remain connected with the user until emergency personnel arrives.

According to the corporate website, the average response time for operators to respond to an alarm signal is approximately 20 seconds. The company's monitoring services have over seven years of experience in the industry.

The Bad

  • Limitations on Features
  • Cancellation Limitations
  • Additional Costs
  • LifeBeacon Reviews

Limitations on Features

LifeBeacon pendants are not water-resistant, which is one of many premium features that most medical alert companies have to offer. The company has pendants that can be used in and near water, but customers must pay an additional charge.

The pendants also do not offer fall detection capabilities unlike similar marketplace offerings in the industry. Fall detection is one of the most important factors to most medical alert owners, as this requires no work from the user and immediately alerts a company's monitoring center if a fall occurs. Without this additional safety assurance, many consumers may not have peace of mind going with LifeBeacon as their medical alert provider.

It is also not clear how the company handles the medical records of the user during an emergency situation.

Cancellation Limitations

Customers can return the medical alert device equipment within the first thirty days for a full refund. However, certain restrictions apply after this point in order to receive a refund. These restrictions are detailed in the customer's service agreement and are not publicly disclosed on the corporate website.

Additional Costs

Customers must pay an extra cost if they desire a water-resistant medical alert device. An optional web portal monitoring service also costs customers a monthly fee and customers must pay extra for accessories. If any damage is inflicted to the equipment by the customer, the customer may be required to pay an undisclosed equipment replacement fee.

The company does not disclose any equipment warranty information and customers may be required to pay service fees to repair faulty equipment. Customers must also pay an activation fee at the time of enrollment.

LifeBeacon Reviews

Unfortunately, LifeBeacon reviews are limited, so it's difficult to tell if customers think it is a quality and trustworthy company worth doing business with. Customer reviews typically have answers to common questions regarding a company's customer service, equipment quality, monitoring services and response times, premium features, etc.

Without data from LifeBeacon reviews, we cannot confidently suggest the company's medical alert services. We recommend going with a more reputable company that has the backing of a large number of positive consumer reviews.

The Bottom Line

LifeBeacon is best suited for active seniors who desire medical safety protection anywhere they go. The medical alarm pendants feature a cellular connection that can transmit a signal to the 24/7 central monitoring station from any location.

Two-way voice technology and GPS medical alert tracking features allow emergency personnel to speak with and find users in the event of an emergency. There are no required long term contracts, and the company offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Customers pay on a monthly basis for equipment and the company offers free shipping. The pendants are not water resistant and customers must pay extra for devices that are. Additional equipment costs and service fees may also apply.

Unlike many other medical alert companies, the devices do not have fall detection capabilities. Customers must also meet certain requirements for cancellation after the 30 day guarantee period ends.

With little customer reviews and medical alert feature limitations, we suggest going with a more reputable company with better features. Check out other top-rated companies with positive medical alert system reviews with the link below.

Linda Gooding Cadiz, OH

Where do I begin? I signed up for this company which apparently has a contract for Medicare Advantage monitoring through Anthem BC/BS of Ohio when they first offered it this past fall. ( 2019). I now live alone with my husband's passing & have 2 rescues which are a risk for tripping. In point-of- fact one already did trip me, so I felt a need for a monitoring device. To make a long story short I have had nothing but problems almost since the beginning- false calls to the monitors for falls of which I did not fall. or even trip. The first day I wore the button, I( reached down to get the dog bowl & it went off. I then reached down to unload the dishwasher, again I got a call from the monitor for a false alarm. They even once called my son in S.C. From then on it has been a constant malfunctioning, replacement systems, conflicting info. about what is wrong, what to do about it, ad nauseum. I never get the same info. twice. I even had one person tell me that I'm not the only person with these problems. They offer no instruction booklet with the system, mnot even a phone number to call. I managed to find one I use, but there are apparently several others. All I received was a piece of paper with the system with essentially no info. on what it does, doesn't should do & even if it is water-proof or water resistant. This is THE junkiest electronic item I have EVER used in my life from a 3rd. rate company who apparently convinced Anthem BC/BS in OHio that they aren't the "pitts." Au contrere! P.S. I will be writing to Medicare, Anthem & the Ohio Dept of Sr. Services. It may do some good but it's no wonder they are so lowly rated here on this service.

Unit performs well. It's very small compared to their units I have seen. The article here says it doesnt have fall detection but it 100% does ! I recommend it to anyone.

Changing and charging the battery is a dexterity challenge, and, because the monitoring is so prompt when the battery is low... my responsibility to change the battery every 24-36 hours is a pain.
