Their mattress industry focus is on comfort and value.
Read on for pros and cons, plus Sleepys mattress reviews from real customers.
The Sleepy's mattress line offers the following in terms of mattress type: foam, innerspring mattress, and encased coil/pocketed coil, with prices ranging between $149-$2199 and comfort levels ranging between firm and ultra plush. They do not have an extra firm bed option.
Their foam mattress options use several different types of foam layers. For example, the Sleepy's Calm 9" Euro Top Memory Foam Mattress model features quilted foam, comfort foam, memory foam, and a support foam base. Other models use gel memory and high-density foam for different levels of comfort, support, and motion transfer protection.
Sleepy's also offers either a pillowtop or firm innerspring mattress, and encased coil mattresses ranging from firm to plush to pillowtop. They also offer other products to complete your bed, including box spring and mattress foundations, pillows, mattress toppers, bed frame, and other options through their parent company.
White glove delivery aka Red Carpet Delivery is available on most models.
Mattress industry giant Mattress Firm sells Sleepy's mattresses. This allows for the benefits of one of the country's biggest retailers, including special purchase options.
Shoppers have a couple different payment and financing options through Mattress Firm, including a low or no credit lease-to-own option through Progressive Leasing. You pay a small down payment from your credit or debit card and then have recurring payments set up. This option comes with a 90-day buyout option and no penalties for early payment.
The Mattress Firm Credit Card is another financing option. It offers 6 and 12-month deferred interest plans with a $0 minimum purchase. If you pay off your full amount within the prescribed time frame, no interest will be charged; however, as per usual, once the promotional time period has lapsed, the interest amount, from the purchase date, will be added starting the next billing cycle. The interest is 29.99%.
As a part of Mattress Firm's 120 Night Sleep Trial, you can try out a mattress and if it is not a good fit for you, you can exchange and/or return it within 120 days of delivery. First, there is a $79.99-$99.99 redelivery fee for your exchange. If the new model doesn't work out, you can return the mattress with a return delivery fee of $79.99-$99.99, plus a restocking fee of 10% of your original mattress purchase price, up to $250. The mattress must not be stained or unsanitary. They recommend you use a waterproof mattress protector to avoid any issue. There are a few other legal addendums as well, like don't remove the tags.
As a Mattress Firm branded line, Sleepy's also benefits from the warranty program. A standard mattress warranty comes with your purchase and lasts for 10 years. It is handled directly by Mattress Firm. You can submit your claim directly through the website. You should get a reply from customer service within 5 business days.
As mentioned before, Sleepy's only offers three mattress types and nine subtypes. While this narrow variety implies the company's emphasis on quality over quality, it also means less overall inventory, especially for its more popular mattresses. Not all of Sleepy's mattress types are available in all areas; however, as part of the Mattress Firm family, in the event that a desired mattress is not available in your area, the company is quick to provide similar recommendations from other brands.
Sleepy's parent company Mattress Firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on October 5th, 2018, which will result in closing up to 700 retail store locations. This will soon make trying out a Sleepy's mattress a little harder for those living near closing locations. Currently, it is easy to browse your options online and see where the nearest storeroom model is available to test out. Currently, we don't know the extent of the filing's effect on the Sleepy's brand.
Sleepy’s has been in the mattress industry for many years. The recent move to parent company Mattress Firm has helped to bring their coil, spring, and memory foam mattresses in close proximity to even more customers in search of a good bed. With a focus on value, and making a good mattress without frills, they have several bedding options to help all kinds of sleepers find a good match. Sharing their parent company's sleep trial, warranty lasting 10 years, and retail store and white glove delivery network has only benefited the brand.
