The Good

Cost-Effective Carrier AC Models

Carrier offers a diverse range of energy-efficient air conditioning units, with installation costs ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 depending on the model. Carrier’s AC units cater to various budgets and efficiency needs, providing a balance of performance, advanced technology, and affordability. Here's an overview of Carrier’s most popular air conditioner lines and how much they cost:

Carrier Infinity Series

The Infinity Series is Carrier’s premium line, delivering top performance with SEER ratings up to 26. These units are equipped with Carrier’s Greenspeed® Intelligence technology for precise temperature control and optimal energy savings. They cost an average of $5,000–$10,000 (including installation).

Carrier Performance Series

The Performance Series offers a mid-range option, combining efficiency and affordability with SEER ratings up to 17. This series provides dependable cooling and can be paired with Carrier’s smart thermostat for enhanced energy management. They cost an average of $4,000-$8,000 to install.

Carrier Comfort Series

The Comfort Series is designed for budget-conscious homeowners, offering solid cooling performance at a lower price point, ranging between $3,000 and $6,000. With SEER ratings up to 16, this line focuses on reliability over advanced features.

To see maximum savings on your Lennox HVAC unit installation, it is advisable to compare at least 3 quotes from local installers.

Top Features

Carrier air conditioners are known for their industry-leading features, including:

  • Energy efficiency: High SEER ratings, often reaching up to 24, help reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills.
  • Advanced cooling technologies: Multi-stage and variable-speed compressors provide precise temperature control and quiet operation.
  • Puron Advance refrigerant: Offers a 75% reduction in global warming potential compared to traditional refrigerants.
  • Smart home integration: Compatible with Carrier's home app for remote control and air quality monitoring.
  • Noise reduction: Innovative technologies like sound blankets and silencing systems minimize noise levels.

Great Warranty Options

Though it may prove difficult for some customers to find out about their possible warranty options (because of the sheer number of options depending greatly upon product), most customers can expect at least a 10-year warranty. Carrier Heating & Cooling also offers some limited lifetime and even lifetime warranties, but those are more uncommon.

Awards System

Carrier has integrated a system that ensures efforts in customer satisfaction among its employees. The Carrier President’s Award is given to Carrier dealers who go above and beyond in treating customer satisfaction as the most important business practice. With incentives for dealers to treat customers right, potential clients will find that Carrier does strive to cater to any need that customers might have.

Experience

Carrier has over 100 years of industry experience. Its founder, Willis Carrier, invented the modern A/C unit, so its employees clearly have a unique expertise in the industry.

The Bad

Warranty Information

There is nothing wrong with the variety of warranty options provided by Carrier. In fact, it provides a good deal of different warranties. The problem with Carrier’s warranty information is how it is presented. Customers must select the desired product (assuming they already know which they will buy) and then read through the contract to find out the term length. Most companies simply provide the possible coverage and term lengths upfront, on the website.

High Repair Cost

Carrier units often come with a higher price tag compared to some other brands. This can be a significant factor for budget-conscious consumers. Additionally, repairs can be more expensive due to the brand's premium status and specialized components.

Contractor Dependency

To ensure optimal performance and warranty coverage, you may need to work with Carrier-authorized contractors, which could limit your options in some areas. This can potentially lead to longer wait times for service or higher costs due to reduced competition. Additionally, working with non-authorized contractors might void your warranty, leaving you responsible for repair costs.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Carrier Heating & Cooling has a rich history and boasts an expertise that few can match. Though it doesn’t disclose fees or pricing information, customers can trust the Carrier quality of service and HVAC systems. If customers do not feel intimidated by the sheer volume of warranty information, it isn’t too difficult to figure out your expected warranty. We do recommend potential customers consider Carrier Heating & Cooling for their HVAC needs.

just had an older AC unit replaced with a Carrier AC. contractor offered us a great install rate before the season gets busy here in Florida, using heat currently but can already see a difference in the energy bill. Be sure that any new AC unit is 16+ for SEER rating if you can get a tax credit and check to see if contractor is listed with your power provider so you can get a rebate- keeping cool

I purchased a new Carrier HVAC system three months after I purchased my home. Upon my old systems failure, the technician and I talked extensively about just getting a new one, due to forseable problem in the future. I decided to go with the high end system even though it was expensive. I have no regrets my electric and gas bill is lower by 25 percent. However, for the next 10 years no worries and I get to change my home warranty policy.

A local HVAC service provider installed our Carrier air conditioning system in 2016. We replaced a Carrier system installed in 1999, which worked well since we bought the house in 2009. However, it was starting to have problems, and tune-ups were costing a bit more. The improvements in system efficiency led us to replace our units. The Carrier systems are priced moderately, and most importantly, I find them to be very reliable. After installing the new units, we did experience a significant drop in electrical use during the summer months. It was well over 20% less than the previous years. I'm not knowledgeable about the mechanics of the system, so my experience comes down to the comfort level of my home without having to service the equipment. And that's been great these past few years. The thermostats are "smart," but I didn't find them very user-friendly. It took a while to understand how to set up schedules in a way that met our family's needs. Connecting the thermostats to our WiFi was easy enough, but once in a while, it drops off, and it can be challenging to reconnect it. I have to pull the thermostat off the wall, let it sit unplugged for a few minutes, plug it back in, and then WiFi reconnects. It happens once or twice per year. If I have a complaint, this is it. The app to remotely control the thermostats is okay. It can be slow, even on a new iPhone. I'll probably switch to Ecobee thermostats and get more control through my home automation tools when the time comes. Otherwise, we're thrilled with our Carrier system and its performance. In another 15 years or so, we will consider Carrier again.

A Carrier system was in my house when I purchased it. It adequately cooled my two story home without any rooms feeling like one was warmer than the other. I never had any problems with the unit for the 17 years that I lived in that home.

Carrier, to me, is of the highest quality HVAC equipment there is. I have used Carrier to replace condensers and other air conditioning equipment. For the price, you get so much value in reliable machinery. Install is easy and performance is unmatched. Carrier cannot be topped.

Carrier has been basically our go to with any AC needs over the years, my family and friends wouldn't trust any other company to service us. They're reasonable professional and I absolutely love the courtesy call when it's time to have things serviced. They have always been on time. I have recommended this wonderful company to my colleagues and family.

We have had our Carrier system for about 18 months now. It's very quiet. The system seems to be quite reliable so far, even though it hasn't been too long. The system was also reasonably priced as we comparison shopped. I am happy with the purchase and feel confident in our system.

We got an notice in the mail about a promo they were running for people with aging furnace and air conditioners. Mine were 20 Years old and definitely on their last leg. We were able to upgrade both items, get an air scrubber, and a humidifier. Plus we were able to do 0% financing for 18 months. It was been a great experience

We will only use Carrier Furnaces & condensers due to many years of continued success and dependability. Always been a huge fan of Carrier. Great products and warranties. They stand behind their company. By far the best on the market. Most companies copy their design. They are 2nd to none !

We have a Carrier Performance 96 furnace that was installed 2015. A couple years after installation we had a recall that resulted in a couple parts being replaced. Other than that, we just had normal maintenance. Really quite happy with the system. We noticed a good reduction in operating cost compared to the old system.
