Vendor/Contractor that was sent out tried to sell me a $475 service that I didn't need. I called another plumber who was able to complete the repair for $125. Unless the repair is covered, I will never trust the vendor that is sent by Landmark.

I am sorry to hear of your experience with your plumbing. Landmark works with independent contractors to ensure unbiased opinions. Typically, if a repair or replacement is needed on an uncovered item, the contractors will still work with our homeowners to complete repairs. If the item is not covered, the prices will be their retail prices. This also means you are able to utilize a different contractor of your choice. In your circumstance a clean out needed to be installed. Unfortunately, the warranty only covers items that were already installed prior to the effective date of the warranty.

I would say to buyers looking home warranty buyers beware. This company make take if the insignificant things but have your air conditioner go out They have a generic term called secondary damage so therefore they won't take care of that . I have never heard any warranty company ever use that term other than this company .

I apologize for the experience you've had with your HVAC unit. According to the contractor, a wire had come loose and caused your fan motor to fail. Due to the fan motor failing, it caused the compressor to become grounded. This would be deemed a secondary damage because the compressor would not have failed if the wire was not loose. Landmark has recognized this was not caused by you and have offered you a cash out of your No Fault coverage to assist you in any way that we can.

Also had problems in scheduling this second appt, with scheduling mistakes made at the contractor's office. Had to make multiple phone calls to set final appt with second contractor.

Problems with billing and lining up proper resources. My contract was put on hold when an issue that wasn't my fault from 2 years ago came back around. Because Landmark did not properly document, I had to waste 6 hours getting to the bottom of the issue and proving it was not my fault.

I've only made a couple of calls to them. The one serious issue was horribly handled by contractors who obviously have no interest in customer service and Landmark was in no rush to address the issue.
