I do not believe this home insurance exists to do what it’s supposed to do. I have called them on three different occasions and they do not honor any of your requests. The customer service agent is the worst, she is always confused and denies every single claim. The last straw was a plumbing issue in which they spoke to the contractor, only for her to send an email claiming it only covers when leakage is either by frozen pipe or wear. If you are looking for a home insurance plan, run don’t walk away from Home guard. I don’t leave reviews no matter how poor a service is, but this is the worst i have ever experienced

I like it because we can choose any contractor we want, we don’t have to just use anybody. It’s been great. We called and they were able to do the work over the phone.

My garage door opener wasn’t working and I couldn’t get straight information of I needed to get the company to set an appointment. With the limit of the air conditioning and furnace will get you nowhere. The customer service is phony.

If I were in the position to choose and buy another home warranty, I would choose another company. The support is not there. When I reached out for information on what is covered and how to access it, my phone calls were ignored.

Up until the last the encounter, they were doing pretty well. Several months ago, I needed my furnace replaced and it went fine but I couldn’t get them to pay for the bill.

Buyer beware. Hopefully this “squeaky wheel gets the grease” I paid for the Top Tier policy. The most expensive “VIP” policy. Within a month of my home purchase, I had a runaway boiler issue that resulted in very minimal repair work needed (a relief valve, expansion tank and a few copper solder points). Probably around 4-5 hundred bucks. The two pipes needing ‘sweating’ took about 4 minutes. Guard Home Warranty immediately began with the “Red Tape Parade” asking me to jump through all their ridiculous hoops. I tried. After every hoop I jumped through, two more hoops would arise. In addition to this, I found out that they don’t cover 3/4 of the repairs needed. They piece-meal their policies so that you’re responsible for any of the pricy items for your particular job. I also learned that they wouldn’t cover certain things, like my AC System because it’s a split system with several units throughout the home. I had another Home Warranty company nearly two decades ago on a new home I purchased. The one and only claim was honored without incident (water heater replaced). Definitely think twice before going with Guard Home Warranty. I’m sure there are still reputable Warranty Companies out there, but GUARD is NOT one of them. Learn from my mistake. God Bless America.
