Many of these conditions are not commonly covered by home warranty companies.

Elite Home Warranty also offers coverage for professional grade appliances, a service that isn't offered by many home warranty companies — the average service fee for professional grade appliances is $150.

Claims Concierge

Elite Home Warranty focuses on helping each customer through the claims process and ensuring that their needs are met, per their established agreement.

Claims can be filed online 24/7, but Elite Home Warranty also has a Claims Concierge, connecting a customer with a single point of contact throughout the entire claims process. The point of contact will keep you updated, providing information and answering questions, through each step of the way after you've filed a claim.

Licensed and Insured Technicians

Elite Home Warranty has a large network of vetted technicians that can address any need and provide high-quality service. If you work with an Elite technician, you are also provided with a 90-day workmanship warranty.

If you have your own technician that you'd like to work with, you are free to do so, but workmanship isn't guaranteed by Elite Home Warranty — if any appliance or system fails within the term, you will be responsible for covering any additional service call fees.

Money-Back Guarantee

Elite Home Warranty stands out from competitors because it offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. The first 60 days include the 30-day waiting period and the first 30 days of coverage.

If you cancel during this period, you'll receive a full refund of contract fees. If you cancel after this period, you'll receive a prorated refund of the contract fees minus an 8 percent cancellation fee.

If you're moving, you can transfer your home warranty to the new homeowner. You can also cancel your current plan. If you buy a new plan, you can have the cancellation fee waived. This option to cancel and buy a new plan offers helpful flexibility and isn't a common option for the industry.

Charitable Donations

Elite Home Warranty isn't only committed to its customers, it's also committed to giving back to the community. The company donates a portion of its revenues to a variety of charitable organizations, providing support to veterans and military families, child education programs, cancer organizations, and more.

Elite Home Warranty Frequently Asked Questions

What is a home warranty?

A home warranty is a contractual agreement. This agreement provides you with coverage of basic home systems and appliances that break down due to natural wear and tear. Your specific agreement will detail the terms for repairing or replacing covered items. Elite Home Warranty offers best in class plans that provide the utmost transparency and peace of mind for homeowners nationwide.

How is a home warranty different from homeowners insurance?

Homeowners insurance covers acts of God and natural disasters, such as fires and floods. This is usually mandated by a mortgage provider. Insurance is also regulated at state and federal levels. What insurance doesn’t cover is the basic wear and tear on appliances and systems in your homes. That’s where home warranties come in. A home warranty plan can cover your major home systems (such as HVAC, electrical and plumbing) as well as a selection of home appliances (such as refrigerators, oven, washer/dryer, etc.). This provides another layer of support and protects a homeowner from having to pay enormous costs for repairs and replacements in the home.

Do I need a home warranty and homeowners insurance?

Homeowners insurance covers acts of nature and disasters. For example, if there is a severe weather event that causes damage to your home, that damage should be covered by homeowners insurance. Insurance is regulated by the government and is usually required by law as part of a title. In contrast, home warranties cover systems and appliances in the home. These are things not covered by homeowners insurance. Once the manufacturer warranty on an air conditioning or washer/dryer has run out, a home warranty fills in the gap, protecting homeowners from costly repairs or replacements. Insurance and a home warranty are two different services, both of which are needed if you are going to be fully covered.

Will a home warranty company fix my appliances and systems?

Home warranty agreements cover the appliances and systems in your house. There are a variety of ways in which this could work. If a covered appliance or system breaks down, Elite Home Warranty will mobilize its local team of contractors to get on the job and help you out. This may mean replacing or repairing the covered item. You will have to refer to the terms of your agreement to know the extent of work a contractor can and will do in your home.

What is covered?

Elite Home Warranty's plans cover a variety of common household appliances and systems. Additional items can be added as an upgrade, for an additional cost. The company covers all mechanical components and parts needed to perform the full functionality of any covered appliances and systems. You can visit Elite Home Warranty's plans and pricing page to compare our available plans.

What appliances does a home warranty cover?

Elite Home Warranty will provide home warranty agreements for the appliances in your home. These include things like your washer and dryer, refrigerator, stove, cooktop, microwave, and dishwasher. There are numerous, additional items that can be covered. You can contact the company for a free sample agreement to see all of the appliances you could include in a home warranty plan.

What systems does a home warranty cover?

Elite Home Warranty provides coverage for home systems, including heating/cooling/HVAC, plumbing, water heater, garage door opener, and electrical systems. These systems don’t have to be new; they simply need to be well maintained. If they break down due to regular wear and tear, you can get full coverage according to the terms of your agreement.

What is not covered?

Elite Home Warranty's plans cover one of each type of appliances and systems that are covered under your selected plan. The company does not cover any additional items unless you purchase additional coverage. The company also does not cover maintenance services such as cleaning and tune ups.

Can I get coverage for old appliances and systems?

Yes, you can. Elite Home Warranty has no age restrictions. One of the benefits of home warranties is that older appliances can be covered. Home warranties don't cover items that are still under manufacturer warranty. Once an item has aged out of those agreements, home warranties can become the safety net for your budget. While there are some restrictions, many older appliances can still be covered by a home warranty.

Is there a waiting period?

Like most home warranty companies, Elite Home Warranty has a 30-day waiting period. If you are switching to Elite from another home warranty provider and have proof of existing coverage, this waiting period may be waived. It can also be waived by providing the company with valid home inspection documents that are not older than 90 days.
