Appliance Benefits

In addition to its plans and add-on coverage options, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty offers unique appliance benefits:

  • Appliance Color Matching — If you are getting an appliance replaced, 2-10 HBW offers to match the existing appliance's color. While always preferable, most warranty companies do NOT cover any cost of matching.
  • Appliance Replacement Offer — If a covered appliance fails, you can either choose to proceed with the normal claims process or accept a $100 reimbursement for purchasing a replacement appliance of your choice.
  • Appliance Discount Program — If you need to replace an appliance, 2-10 HBW offers a 65% discount on GE and Whirlpool appliance retail prices.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you cancel before the effective date, a full refund will be issued. After that, fees will be deducted from your refund. While this gives you the freedom to cancel during the 30-day waiting period before your warranty coverage starts, a full refund is not available once it starts.

The following restrictions may apply:

  • If you cancel up to 10 days after the effective date, you are eligible for a refund, but are responsible to pay a $25 processing fee and any amount that the provider paid for service.
  • If you cancel more than 10 days after the effective date, you will receive a pro-rata refund for the remaining unused portion of the contract, less any amounts that the company paid for service and the $25 processing fee.

24/7 Claim Submission

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty provides 24/7 service to its customers. Homeowners may submit a service request 24/7 through their online portal or over the phone.

A service contractor will be dispatched to schedule a time, Monday through Friday during normal business hours, to diagnose and repair the eligible system or appliance.

Exclusive “Even-If” Service Fee Guarantee

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty customers benefit from a unique service fee guarantee. This guarantee includes the following benefits:

  • If you paid a service call fee, but your item was not eligible for coverage, you can request reimbursement.
  • If a covered part is serviced and fails again within the term of the Home Warranty Service Agreement, another Service Fee will not be due.

Contractor Options

Some home warranty companies prevent customers from calling the approved contractors directly. 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty allows its customers to contact the contractors directly to expedite the process. If you are looking for a quicker turnaround time, this is a nice feature to have.

Your chosen service contractor must be licensed and insured. He or she must also contact 2-10 HBW with a detailed diagnosis and estimate to see if it's covered and to get an authorization number.

If an in-network pro is not available, it's one thing, but if you simply choose to get your own repair, 2-10 will only cover "an amount equivalent to what [2-10] would have paid for parts and labor for a contracted provider to complete the needed service."

Real Estate Warranty Plan Packages

If you are buying or selling a home, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty offers distinct service contracts for home buyers and sellers, which must be purchased through a real estate professional:

  • Seller Coverage — 2-10 HBW offers free seller coverage for appliances, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Free coverage is not available where prohibited by law, including the state of Florida. Complimentary seller policies don't cover air conditioning or heat pumps, but coverage can be added for $50–$60.
  • Buyer Coverage — Same as seller coverage, with the basics, but it also includes the Happy Home Lock & Hardware program, which provides reimbursement up to $100 to install new locks or rekeying within 45 days after closing. No service fee is charged.
  • 3-Year New Home Warranty Plans — Appliance and home system repair service contracts to buyers of brand new houses. As with other real estate contracts, new construction home warranties must be purchased through a partnering real estate agency.

What does the claims process look like?

When a covered item breaks down from normal wear and tear, simply log in to your online Homeowner Portal account — available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — to request service. After you answer a few easy questions, help will be on the way. You can also contact our claims department at the toll-free number. An approved, insured, local contractor in your area will be dispatched. You’ll set an appointment with them, and when they arrive, they’ll collect your Service Fee (see your service agreement for specific details about your Service Fee). I would say the positive is that again you could do everything from a telephone. Sometimes the companies, the contractors that have been assigned to work, have been so far away from us that they never contact us. I think the the the coverage area probably needs to be a little closer to where the home buyer is. One time the kitchen faucet was leaking. I submitted the service request from my phone and the people were out to fix and replace the faucet within two business days. We've used 2-10 on service request probably six or seven times on on various different things and have been very happy with them.

With a particular contractor that replaced the water heater, he was excellent. He did a perfect job. He did everything to perfection. He was really, really thorough in everything he did. I reported the leak and the water heater was replaced within 3 days, approved on the first day and installed two days later. They returned my call very promptly and they got right to the point. I've had good luck with them. Every time I've called to do stuff because I'm not really good with a computer. I really like to do stuff on the phone so I can call them up and and take care of it. My washing washing machine went out and this guy came out within three to four days. It was found to be that it was going to cost more to repair it, so they went ahead and replaced it. They ordered me a new washer and took out the old one. Very easy to work with. Good warranty company. They send out quality people and you know they do a good job.

They tell you when someone's coming they tell you that they remember the guys coming at 2:00 o'clock and that kind of thing so that the communications and everything is just perfect. My bathroom floor was very, very weak and it it basically was caving in and rotting. The first time I called somebody out, the company came and basically started trying to rip me off. And then I called 210 warranty and told them what happened and after a couple of complaints they sent out a second person and that second person was very good and took care of everything about one day. I was very happy with the second company and I was very confident. After having a really bad experience the first time it was great to have someone responsible with and didn't feel like I was being ripped off.

They have always been there when I needed them. I've had my warranty with them 17 years. They're great. Recently I needed to use my warranty on two things. I had a plumbing issue and I had a dishwasher issue and it was fine. I had to put my form in on the web, so I did that and then the follow-up hearing from the contractor took a few days. I got a confirmation within about from 2-10 within about 24 hours, and usually I got a call from the contractor probably 48 to 72 hours after that.

I used them one time and the website was fine. I had an outlet that was not working and since my security system was attached to that outlet it was really important. So I contacted 2-10 and they assigned an electrician to come out and take a look. I liked the electrician so well that I hired him for other work. Some warranty systems are a little on the pricey side, but this is not unreasonable.

I like that they do not outsource their customer service, so there are no language barriers or communication issues. Recently I just had to use my warranty for my AC was not was not pumping out any cold air and it got kind of hot here in Georgia a couple of weeks ago. It's a good service. We've had to use it quite a few times. The appliances in our house turned out to be kind of old and they started breaking down on us. Several times we've called. and they've been able to send a repair person out. They've also offered to cover the cost of replacement appliances in each case and in one case we took them up on that and replaced our dishwasher completely. We needed them. They are pretty responsive and clear and helpful.

We always can get a hold of somebody and never had issues. Recently the pressure regulator tank went bad and I contacted 2-10 and they cut a check weeks later because I used someone out of network. Karen Hyman, if there's any problems Karen takes over and the customer service is just unbelievably terrific. I had to use my warranty on my sub-zero refrigerator freezer. They had to come out several different times and fix it. 2-10 uses very, very good vendors. I do think it's a little bit expensive, but I would still purchase it.

There was a huge delay in addressing and fixing issues. They never pick up the phone. I have a ticket that opened a week ago. Usually it is the 24 hours or 48 hours time frame to get back to me, but it didn't happen for four days and I had to reach back to the technician. Once you open a ticket, they don't respect you in a timely fashion.

Had a leak in my bathroom. I called, they came the next day, came early morning and fixed it all at one time. The people that came with pumping were very quick and took it right away. People have been responsive. When I type an e-mail or something people get back to me right away.

It's definitely worth it. It's saved us some money several times. We had an air conditioner problem and they fixed it right away. I have had some issues getting through to people. Sometimes there's been issues with the getting contractors to come out.

Customer support has always been good. The people they've assigned to respond to my call have been slow to respond just about every time we've had to use 2-10. We had to wait a few days to hear from the company that was going to come out to look at our electrical, and then when we did we had to talk to three different people who weren't on the same page.

Back in January I had something going on with my heater. And it was a piece that had broken. I contacted 2-10 online and the website was pretty easy to use. You just submitted a ticket and within a day or so I had someone out there to take care of the problem. I was really impressed.

We've had really good experiences anytime we needed service. We've had a lot of the appliances in our home serviced and they are wonderful. They make it pretty effortless. You put in the work order and then somebody in the area will call you and service whatever you have in your home that is broken. We've had our microwave serviced, our dishwasher, the washer and dryer, the air conditioner, and the biggest one was the water heater.

They're really quick about making their decisions. Our furnace went out and they just replaced our furnace and our A/C central air unit and it was really quick as far as the turn around time. When they made the suggestion to replace it they made that decision very quickly to do it. So that was nice so we didn't have to go without heat for too long.

We've had pretty good interaction with everybody. They're responsive. I like the online tool that's easy to use as well. We had someone out to fix our heat and he was done in 5 minutes. One interaction we had there was some difficulty between 2-10 and the contracted team. Something wasn't done right but because things ended between the companies they couldn't come back to fix it.

Faucets and bathroom fixtures are not covered well. I got a whole new air conditioning twice and furnace covered, but to get a faucet replaced they don't pay very much. Nice support, but the hold times are very long to try and get ahold of anybody.

The disposal went out and I contacted them. They had somebody come out right away and it wasn't repaired quite right by that company. I contacted them for a follow-up, contacted 2-10 and they sent a different company out right away and that person fixed it correctly.

They've always been really good. This last time, my freezer quit making ice, and 2-10 had someone come out and they got the part and got it fixed, no problem. They want you to do everything on the website, it's really hard to get a person, which is frustrating sometimes.

They don't get back with you. They're not very helpful. They were supposed to call me back even the other day and they never returned my call. I had a furnace upstairs that was not working. I called them and a person came out, they worked on it. A couple days later it wasn't working. That's when the next guy came out. The previous guy broke the water line from the top of the drain line and the man said it could not be repaired and I have to switch the whole unit out and I was able to fix it myself for $0.89. I called 2-10 and complained and complained they did nothing about it. They just say that there is somebody going to get back with you, then they changed the warranty. They try to avoid instead of really fixing things
