Experience and Licenses

Demo King’s owner, Alexander Matthews, makes sure his crew members are educated in construction beyond demolition. Being in construction for decades before starting Demo King, he recognizes the importance of skill in the demolition process. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, blueprints, and construction materials are all important when Demo King’s crew comes in to cap off lines, remove hazardous waste, disconnect, and facilitate the removal of large structure appliances.

Demo King does large commercial projects and has taken on projects as large as hospital demolitions and projects as small as bathroom remodels. 

The company carries the proper licensing and is EPA certified to do demolition work and manage asbestos removal. EPA certification is given from the federal government to contractors who are properly trained to remediate and remove lead contamination in home structures.

Works with Local Non-Profit Organizations

In the demolition industry, many companies choose to just take everything they can to the dump, even when lots of property needing to be discarded has the potential for a second life. Demo King is unique as it chooses to donate much of these left behind items to local shelters and community organizations.  

Demo King partners with a Baltimore-based nonprofit called Second Chance. Demo King takes salvageable items from the structures it's demolishing such as doors, windows, fixtures, lumber, and hardwood, and donates to the Second Chance store. This gives the owner of the building, Demo King’s client, a tax credit for the donated items. 

This attention to being ecologically conscious is applauded as its not always cost effective. We love to see a local company do what it can to pay it forward and bless others with what others do not need anymore.
