The Good

  • 24/7 Professional Monitoring
  • Remote Mobile Access
  • No Phone Line Required
  • Vacation Monitoring

Customers are able to choose the home security system best suited for their needs rather than having to choose a preset plan. The company provides 24/7 professional monitoring from certified dispatchers at in house central monitoring stations. Customers are able to control many home security features remotely on a handheld mobile device. Safeguard's service includes fire safety, burglar alarm, video surveillance, and energy management. A unique offering from Safeguard is its Elite/Vacation protection. The company's Patrol Officers can perform daily checks of the interior and exterior of the home while the customer is away. Safeguard will even hold the customer's mail until he or she returns. The company also offers home theater equipment that can be remote controlled through the mobile app and medical alert devices with monitoring. The company employs its own fleet of Patrol Officers who provide assistance anytime.

The Bad

  • No Equipment Warranty Information
  • Undisclosed Installation Fee
  • No Cancellation/Service Transfer Policy Information Disclosure

Safeguard Security requires customers to have a service agreement for three years. Contracts may be subject to an automatic renewal clause and customers may be subject to early termination fees. This cancellation fee is generally the remaining account balance and due immediately upon cancellation. Customers must pay a one-time installation fee upfront (price undisclosed) and there is no offered information on its corporate website in regards to equipment warranties. It is also unclear whether or not the customer may have to pay a service transfer fee if they choose to move to a new residence while under the service agreement contract.
