Guardian Protection Cost

Like most professionally installed solutions, a Guardian Protection security system requires little upfront costs and offers free, fast, and safe professional installation. All it takes is a one-time equipment fee ($249) with prices varying depending on the home security systems package.

The monthly fee for monitoring at $45.99. An IQ2 PowerG Panel, PowerG motion detector, PowerG window/door sensor, and professional monitoring services are standard. The IQ2 control panel has hands-free Bluetooth disarming, a built-in glass break sensor, a built-in 5MP camera, plus advanced encryption technology. The wireless window and door sensor options have a discreet design and a lot of power. They communicate with your Guardian security panel and help protect your home's critical entry and exit points. They come with PowerG wireless intrusion technology, providing more secure encryption, longer range and reliability, and better battery life. Video surveillance from the security camera array is only available on more advanced packages.

High-End Equipment Like Doorbell Camera and Garage Door Control

Beyond offering most of the basic security and home automation equipment in the industry, Guardian Protection also offers advanced smart security devices such as a video doorbell and camera. This alarm company also has smart garage door control, which most security providers don't provide. Other devices include smoke and CO detectors, in-home medical pendant, image sensor, and a host of others.

Home Automation with the Guardian App

Guardian Protection offers home automation capabilities in addition to home security. With Guardian Protection's free app, you have complete control of your home security and automation whether you are at home or miles away.

Through the use of your smartphone, tablet, or computer, you can control and manage your home's lights, door lock, smart thermostat, indoor camera feeds, as well as your garage door at the touch of a button. Now you're not just tied to your control panel. The app will also alert you if your door sensors are tripped. You can do this at anytime and anywhere. Guardian’s services aren't available everywhere in the United States. And although Guardian Protection monitors systems in all 50 states, the company only provides new systems in the following areas: Delaware, DC, Maryland, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Not Available for Apartments

In addition, the company doesn't provide services to apartment renters (house renters are fine). However, this is not uncommon for home security companies. 

Limited Sensors

In addition, Guardian Protection only provides three PowerG door/window sensors with most of its packages. Even small homes often require more than three door/window sensors, meaning most customers should account for additional out-of-pocket costs on sensors if they want a cheaper plan. 

However, the Family First, Protect My Parents, and The Works packages all have 5 door/window sensors. If you like the extra equipment in these packages, these might be good choices for you.

Lengthy/Hidden Terms in Customer Agreement

Guardian Protection isn't upfront with terms like cancellation penalties and warranty information when it comes to monitoring services. You guys are awesome. Customer support was extremely helpful--if they did not know the answers to my questions right away they just would go and ask another employee or a supervisor and just made sure that they got the answers for me that I needed. Guardian Protection seemed like it was more affordable compared to everyone else. It's very easy to use. I like the fact that I can get all the notifications from my phone and control it from my phone.

Guardian Protection's system was included in my new home package with the builder. I haven't had any issues and no problems with the system. The system is easy to use and there was a seamless integration with the application and smooth user interface. The knowledge of having extra protection in case anything breaks is wonderful. If something goes wrong, it automatically notifies the authorities and other emergency systems.

Guardian Protection is accommodating and I've already called a couple of times, one to schedule a service and they came out they did the service within a reasonable time frame. I also called back to get my bill changed to a specific date that way I can had an auto auto drafted very easily the way I would like for it to be auto drafted and they were accommodating on it as well. The security equipment is pretty good, my thermostat is very good and easy to use, good functionality, and the app that we used with the technology of it is very easy to use. It works really well and it makes our life easier. The best thing about using Guardian Protection is the peace of mind that we get knowing that the house is safe and also when we're not there, the ability to not have to worry about whether not we armed the system when we've already left the home because we can always log into the app and check in real time anywhere.

I think the equipment is very nice, the pad in the kitchen is very state of the art and it provides a lot of information. It has a lot of options kind so I'm still learning how to use it but I think I'm gonna really like it. I like setting the alarm and unsetting it on my telephone, I like the fact that I can do everything by phone. I like the immediate response and alerts. I think the price is right. I'm getting good service for the price I pay. My feedback is to just keep providing the same amount of customer service and nice friendly installers like I had and I think that they will do very well.

Honestly, 3 stars may be high... I'm not sure if Guardian is a good fit given my geography. Internet service is limited in my area, so I was not able to get all of the home security functionality I would've liked, such as a video via a doorbell camera etc. Also, in the past 5.5 weeks, my system has reported at least 9 "communication failures," which makes me question how well my home is being monitored.

They came out very quickly after we moved into our home and make sure the system was working properly, they had to do some reconfiguration on a couple of things and did so at no charge, which is what they've committed to us on the front end, so they lived up to their commitments and overall it was a very good experience. I'd say this is state of the art equipment. My suggestion is that installers explain everything to the customer and be sure that all of the equipment is working before they leave and also give additional feedback, additional training so that the customer will not have to call back for more information on how to operate the system because I'm still getting glitches.

The touch pad on the alarm system was more interactive than I thought it would be. The system seems reliable. I am very upset I have asked my person who set up my acct. to please show me how to work the camera on my phone, I am waiting on my monies to pay alder off $204.36 I have not received my yard signs all of this was to be resolved I have spoke to Will on the phone twice (the guy who came to my door and set this up) nothing has been done. I am livid. I had alder for years when i agreed to go to guardian he promised he would pay off my existing charges on Alder. he told me he would take care of showing me how to pull up past ppictures on my phone i have since reinstalled my ring because i got o help and last night he was to call me back 10 30 minutes as to where my check was. Never heard anything the yard signs were to be sent to me in a timely manner been weeks.

Well first of all customer service, the salesman very dependable. I had a bad experience with another company and that's why I didn't take that company's security. But I've had the pleasure of meeting the Guardian sales guy several times and then I finally was able to go ahead. I know the service is good, he gave me the pros and cons, and he really was very good about explaining how good his company is in comparison to other companies so I was sold on that. They are very customer service oriented, they understood my needs and they took care of them. They showed a willingness to help me and took care of me and I appreciate that even though it takes a long time to get on it, once you do, they take care of their business. I like the cameras, I feel secure knowing that they've got sensors and that they have a twenty four hour customer call center, calls will be answered and if I'm in danger, I can get the police or whatever service I need, so I like the fact that they have that twenty four hour call center. I just wish they would come down a little with the price.

When we signed up, we were told our bill would be around $50 per month. Our first statement came, and it was $73. We were also told our system panel would be a tablet, that is moveable around the house, and it is not. I feel like we were taken advantage of by the salesman.

I'm having trouble with the motion sensors. I couldn't see what's going in the house when I come out the door in the morning--I should see those things on a regular basis. Everyday when the mailman comes I should see that, but I'm not seeing all that and I'm getting I'm getting a lot of motion alerts for wind blowing in the trees but I'm not getting no motion for when I'm going to my house everyday.

I've had a good experience for the most part--it's reasonably priced--however I had a something go wrong. It's been a couple of weeks and it still hasn't been fixed yet. My doorbell camera which was part of the package is no longer working after two weeks and they said it's the fault of the internet provider so I feel that I could have been warned about this beforehand. My neighbor has the same internet provider and hasn't had an issue with the doorbell camera. They should send out a technician to fix a brand new system instead of having the customer figure it out on their own.

Really great customer service and seems to be a great security system, but their key fobs are not the best. The app is good but if my phone goes down or I cannot get to the panel in time then the key fob would be a great alternative. It works great to turn off the alarm but not do great to turn on the alarm.

Well the equipment is small, it's not very obtrusive, and I was able to place it so it's not something that's highly visible inside the house to make it on attractive so I was happy that all the little gadgets are small. It just gives me sense of protection and I just I just feel safer with it. Also, they are available in terms of if I have a question I can always call Guardian and someone is always there to answer the questions.

I love the after sales support. Their customer service reps have gone over and above to make sure that my system is in and installed properly. I had AT&T prior, AT&T came in for no obvious reason and had cut all the wires so that my devices were not connected to the system and Guardian came in and rewired everything at no cost to me just so that I have security and peace of mind that my system work upstairs, downstairs all my windows and doors so yeah they've got a customer for life.

TERRIBLE start with this company! This is first 2 months: 1_ Camera installed without protection cover for wires. The wires got wet and burned camera. They had to order more parts. Camera been out for almost a month. 2_They did not install everything in the contract. 3_Did not leave or ask if we would like any logos 4_They sent out a technician with little to no experience to cover for another. Zero accomplished waste of everybody’s time. 5_The LeGrande Digital Audio does not work properly…had to order another part. 6_The motion detector does not work and didn’t learn that until after a week’s vacation. Glad the thieves were not lurking around. 7_Orders not communicated from tech to customer support. 8_To top it off spoke to a manager and she wrote down all of these issues and promised she or another manager would get back before close of business…but to be consistent with her subordinates, never heard back so another angry customer has to call back tomorrow. Please DO NOT use this company if you want protection. I would never recommend. Way too expensive…low quality and service.

I like the ease of the control pad. It's updated technology, and the cameras are clear. But, I have not heard from anyone since the install and they were supposed to be coming back to do some more work and then I had issues with my system and I sent them an email and I haven't gotten a response.
