Guardian Protection Cost

Like most professionally installed solutions, a Guardian Protection security system requires little upfront costs and offers free equipment. All it takes is a one-time installation fee ($99) with prices varying depending on the home security systems package.

Monthly monitoring prices start at $29.99* and cellular monitoring and remote access packages start at $45.99 per month. A control panel, motion detectors, door sensors, window sensors, and professional monitoring center services are standard, but video surveillance from security cameras is only available on more advanced packages.

In addition, the company doesn't provide services to apartment renters (house renters are fine). However, this is not uncommon for home security companies.

Our only issue is we get 400 videos per month. Many times the videos recorded are simply cars/trucks going by with no contact with our home.

my experience has been great! the staff was friendly, the install guy was awesome. I really enjoyed having him in my home. very friendly and knowledgeable and easy to talk to. there was an issue with my garage door not working with my phone, that was not his fault it was the garage door companies fault. i have had the best experience with guardian. i hope i never have to use the system, but I am glad it is there if i needed to!

Motion Sensor installed was not working appropriately, technician came out multiple times and would not replace the specific non-working system after the second time. Ended up having to settle instead for a glass break alarm which was not what we wanted. Ended up spending our first 30 days with no away alarm, no acknowledgment for the defective system. Customer service was really nice through the process but don't feel that our resolution was fair to us, especially being new guardian customers and having a clear issue with what was installed and being told that instead of replacing the broken system we kind of have to either deal with it or put in something that we didn't want originally. I think taking a look into the motion sensing technology would help guardian. Their customer service however was very nice.

I called customer service about an issue that I had and the customer service representative barely acknowledged the conversation. So much so that at the end of the conversation I asked her to acknowledge it to at least tell me she understood what I was saying. Her response was I acknowledge. I feel very frustrated. The service technician that installed my system was not honest about a charge and when I tried to discuss it with customer service they blew me off. Needless to say I am not happy and as soon as I am able to cancel the service I will.

Needs improvement. Little help on using the system and we were lied to when we signed up. We found out this week our doorbell isn't recording because they didn't tell us there is a video limit each month.

I have had Guardian Protection Services home security/ fire/ carbon monoxide alarms systems since 2013. On September 16, 2019, I called Guardian Protection Service to inquire about service coverage as a result a fire occurred at my property on September 11, 2019. I, the homeowner, was away in Europe for travel. I nor my designated family members received any notification of a fire at the property. The first communication with your representative informed that I did not have monitoring service rendered by Guardian Protection Services since May 17, 2019 and that no notification to the fire department occurred September 11, 2019 from their entity. This scenario of disconnection of monitoring service for the mentioned property is misleading as there have been constant month on month billing for security services since May 2019 to date and the representative informed that all month on month billing since May 2019 has been paid. She then proceed to say billing was TURNED on in error. I asserted that this is not an error as this misleads me to believe I had coverage and monitoring services. No notices were sent that I needed to reinstate service, apply for a new contract, or refunds for payments as monitoring service was discontinued. The billing without coverage/monitoring/ service is misleading in that there is an account number associated with the billing each month. I received billing in the form of mail and email. I can access Guardian Protection Services website account billing to pay for services according to billing notifications. Therefore, no error has been performed but false representation of services and misleading a consumer in unfair practices. This practice of billing lasted for months and there is no indication that this would have stopped or I ,the consumer, would have been notified of this issue, refund issued, or clear communication to reinstate services is necessary. I have asked that this matter be escalated for arbitration with Guardian and have received coercing e-mails/ communications threading to cut off services that were not instated properly since May 2019. Guardian refuses to address the evidence of their negligence even when they requested to see reports of the fire. Now all my calls have to go through a credit manager and she has not addressed any of my concerns and acts as an agent to issue out ultimatum communications of ceasing services ( that are not instated since May 2019 due to Guardian negligence) and that billing was not applied after I reported this negligence. However, Guardian Protection Services continued to bill me from Sept. 2019 - Dec. 2019. Over the past months, I have continued to receive mistreatment from Guardian with the latest regarding being kept from a legible copy of my contract signed. They informed me that the Loyalty Department can explain the contract, but not provide me a clear copy. Now I have been told I am not allowed to know my terms from the contract unless a credit manager supplies this. She has not returned any of my calls since September 2019 and provides nothing in the form of e-mail to address my issues escalated to Guardian Protection Services. To date, a current list of negligence Guardian Protection Services performed for account: 1. Billing without monitoring services May 2019 -Sept 2019 2. Failure to correct billing negligence or inform customer of the occurrence. 3. Failure to notify the fire department of fire Sept 2019 or back up contacts on the 2017 contract. 4. Failure to address negligence reported 9/16/2019 and issuance or coercing/ ultimatum communications to reactivate monitoring. In addition, reactivation of monitoring outside of protocol. 5. Sending coercing/ ultimatum e-mails insisting billing had ceased since Sept. 16, 2019, but there was billing in the amounts $212.64 and $205.20. Then removing billing without addressing the customer concerns Jan 02/2020. 6. Negligence to provide a clear copy of 2017 contract and thwarting consumer (Justin Wilson) to have access to this information without a credit manager’s consent.

The app works well. I had several problems with the local installer, he was extremely unprofessional but customer service corrected it with a new installer and all the problems were solved.

I have one installed wire that never functions and it is kind of odd and I lave voicemails for the salesperson and he does not return them frequently.

Guardian was recommended by the builder. Everything is pretty easy. It only has one camera but everything works fine. The phone app is very helpful, as well as the website.

The technician that came to install the system was very nice but I've had technical problems with the equipment and customer service says it should be working but the doorbell is not working. It is nice being able to control it from your phone.

Yes, their system does a good job of alerting the local police in the event of a break-in. That's where my satisfaction ends with them. This company will nickel & dime you from the day you sign up. I had them put a wireless security system in my home two years ago and I've been sorry ever since. You NEED to sign a 5 yr deal. Okay, but now I feel like a hostage until it expires. I signed up for what I thought was going to be a killer system that I could continue to grow, but Guardian is WAY TOO GREEDY for that. I discovered that my second week as a customer. When they originally set the system up, it immediately alerted them when someone set off the motion sensors. This happened frequently every morning in the beginning as we were new customers and were forgetting to disarm the system before we left the bedroom. So, the phone would ring asking if everything was okay. etc. I wanted to get that adjusted to give us like 45 seconds to disarm the system before they called us. No problem, after a 25.00 charge to reprogram the system remotely. WHAT??? REALLY??? i quickly learned that what you pay for each month is JUST the monitoring service. If you need ANYTHING else with regards to the system, you will pay!! I am a Smart Home geek and I originally envisioned this system to be an extension of my smart home system. They put in a really awesome, state of the art smart home security panel which would function in conjunction with my smart things hub. In fact, I was blinded by how cool this panel was, and was the main reason I chose them over ADT. However, they will not give me ANY access to that panel so that I can tie it into my home systems and take advantage of its capabilities. All I can do is arm and disarm it. Instead, I was told is that they would program it for me. Okay great, however, when you hear the prices that they quote for a remote configuration, it just wouldn't make any sense. Anyone who has set up a smart home will tell you that it is rarely static. There are always things you see and would like to try. add, change, but Guardian's fees for each and every change makes that cost prohibitive. So, I have this awesome panel that I could do a lot of cool things with, but the system sits and monitors my home like alarm systems have done for the last 25 years. Oh, and better yet, the wireless sensors keep dying and going off line. In two years, I've had multiple issues where they stop working. If you let Guardian visit your house there's a healthy service charge associated. So, what have I decided to do? I've now have a new strategy when the Guardian sensors malfunction and I can't figure out why, I eliminate them. I replaced them with non-Guardian sensors and monitor them myself with my Smart Home system. Basically, as the system slowly breaks, there are less Guardian sensors and more that I monitor. When it reaches a certain percentage, I will get monitoring from one of the new security companies like SimpliSafe for those. Then, when the Guardian contract is over, I'll be free & clear of my 5 years of being a hostage. I'm about halfway through my hostage crisis. Guardian Protection is a money suck! Do yourselves a favor and use one of the newer companies like SimpliSafe for your security needs. They understand that it's 2019, not 1979! Guardian is still conducting business like its still 1980, much like the Cable TV Companies. They need to reinvent themselves or they will eventually die out like what has happened to the taxi cab industry in the wake of Uber. This is almost 2020, time to change your business model or face extinction! Lastly, I want to say that I have NO experience with SimpliSafe other than what I've read about them. I only use their name as a reference point for all the new security services that are sprouting. Do you research before you pick a company. I will when it's time, but Guardian, unless they change their business model, is yesterday's news.

The response time is incredible. It was an accidental alarm that went off and Guardian Protection called within like thirty seconds of the alarm going off and the previous company I used took much longer. We're still new customers but for the most part I don't have any complaints so that's good. It's easily accessible from my phone. It actually works.

They are pretty good and the equipment is really good. The only thing is that it works with the internet and if you have Optimum, which isn't really a good cable company, it's not really accurate.

I've been trying for services that were done and I spoke with a customer care representative but I got a notice in the mail saying there was a bill so it's been taken care of. It looks pretty good. I like how I'm able to look at my house and drive to the mall.

The fellow that was here was wonderful but I haven't had any contact since other than to speak to them. The only thing I've used so far is the security at the door and I would here the signal when the door was open and so forth.
