Guardian Protection Cost

Like most professionally installed solutions, a Guardian Protection security system requires little upfront costs and offers free equipment. All it takes is a one-time installation fee ($99) with prices varying depending on the home security systems package. Monthly monitoring prices start at $29.99*. A control panel, motion detectors, door sensors, window sensors, and professional monitoring center services are standard, but video surveillance from security cameras is only available on more advanced packages.

Home Theft Protection Guarantee

The company also provides a couple of policies in the event of a home burglary or customer relocation. Guardian Protection's Home Theft Protection Guarantee gives customers $500 toward their insurance deductible in the event of a home burglary*.

If you move from your home after one year of becoming a customer, you can get a new system for your new home including 1 standard security control pad, a door/window motion sensor (3 sensors total) and 1 motion detector for as low as $99. High-End Equipment Like Doorbell Camera and Garage Door Control

Beyond offering most of the basic security and home automation equipment in the industry, Guardian Protection also offers advanced smart security devices such as a doorbell camera—the latest must-have gadget in home automation. This alarm company also sells a remotely controlled garage door opener, which most security providers don't provide. Other devices include smoke detectors, in-home medical pendants, image sensors, and a host of others.

Versatile Monitoring Options

Guardian Protection's monitoring services can be connected by landline, cellular, or broadband connections. This means when your burglar alarm is triggered, Guardian Protection's 24-hour monitoring centers are contacted by one of the three connections—whichever is the most optimal for your system. Many home security companies restrict you to one or two of these choices, so it's good to see companies like Guardian Protection diversifying their service options.

Home Automation with the Guardian Edge™ App

Guardian Protection offers home automation capabilities in addition to home security. With Guardian Protection's free app, Guardian Edge™, you have complete control of your home security and automation whether you are at home or miles away. Through the use of your smartphone, tablet, or computer, you can control and manage your home's lights, locks, thermostats, as well as your garage door at the touch of a button. You can do this at any time and anywhere. The app is available for iOS and Android, so you don't have to worry about incompatibility with whatever smartphone you may have. 

Guardian Protection's home automation not only adds additional security to your home, but it also helps you save money by reducing electricity and energy costs. Though Guardian Protection isn't specific about the states in which its services are not available, the company admits that its services aren't available everywhere in the United States. And although Guardian Protection monitors systems in all 50 states, the company only provides new systems in 21 states.

Not Available for Apartments

In addition, the company doesn't provide services to apartment renters (house renters are fine). However, this is not uncommon for home security companies. 

Limited Sensors

In addition, Guardian Protection only provides three door/window sensors with its packages (even including the most expensive package). Even small homes often require more than three door/window sensors, meaning most customers should account for additional out-of-pocket costs on sensors at the very least. Most home security companies will provide additional sensors along with pricier plans.

Lengthy/Hidden Terms in Customer Agreement

Guardian Protection isn't upfront with terms like cancellation penalties and warranty information when it comes to monitoring services. As such, prospective customers are strongly encouraged to read the contract thoroughly before signing. Remember, you're committing to this company's monitoring for three to five years.

Dear Guardian. I would like to take this opportunity to commend your service team who worked tirelessly to assure our investment in your company was worthwhile. We spent more than $40,000 to integrate your technology into our new home and have experienced numerous challenges with getting everything to work properly, including having other service technicians visit our home. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful at solving everything. Then we had the pleasure to meet Denise N., who is one of your veteran employees, and took it upon herself to assure us that she would not allow these problems to go unaddressed and that she’d see to it that every issue was solved to our satisfaction. She then enlisted another coworker, Patrick M., with the expertise needed to solve the problems that she couldn’t herself. They then traveled a great distance, I believe from Delaware and Maryland, to work tirelessly in our home for the day. They made significant progress, but also recognized there was more to do. So they scheduled another full day the following week and returned to address all else. It’s truly rare that we make the effort to write about our customer satisfaction, but we feel it is entirely warranted in this case to go the extra mile, just as they did for us. I think that they should contact their customers more often. Their prices are a bit higher than other companies which makes me want to think about moving to another company.

Usually they call me before the police do. About two weeks ago I was a little late getting to my alarm, I was pushing the wrong buttons and it went off and then I corrected it but then the police showed up.

I think the equipment is fine, it is average. It would be nice to have the new wireless options but I don't want to pay the money to. Every time I've had issues with my family messing up the alarm and the great customer support walked me through how to stop it.

It gave me a better protection plan and price than AT&T. I haven't had any problems with the equipment. They're always there when I need them. When I have a problem, I call them up and they eliminate the problem. I would recommend them to a friend.

They were friendly whenever we did contact them and knowledgeable. Because of the layout of our house they gave us free motion sensors because one would not have covered everything. I'd recommend people try it.

Customer service was great, I never had a bad call or bad attitude from the employees. Everything is always addressed in a timely manner and they've always been up front with payment plans and stuff like that. Everything's always been tiptop form, all the tools have been operable.

I have had many calls and they have answered my questions a hundred percent every time. I've never had any trouble with customer service or the system at all.

A year ago when I took a trip to NYC, it turns out my system stopped working the day before my trip! I still get a little heated up thinking about that.

Overpriced. Poor integration with other systems (smart home hubs) and services (ex. IFTTT). Very good response to home monitoring.

Dynamic Customer Service and Overall Technical Service Experience! Our home was built in 2013 with Guardian as our security alarm and audio system provider. Recently, we needed service on our alarm system after we attempted to switch cable companies. The Guardian Technician, Patrick M., arrived, was courteous, professional, very, very knowledgeable and respectful. Patrick immediately determined the issue with our security alarm system which was a result of one of the two cable companies attempting to align our cable lines, etc. More so, he was able to resolve the issue very quickly. We also had two other issues with our built-in audio system for which I had scheduled a separate service call thinking they would require more time. Patrick reviewed those two issues as well and rather swiftly again determined the issue and resolved the primary problem and gave me a solution to complete the final concern while he was on-site. In essence, we were able to basically resolve all 3 issues in one visit which took approximately 1 hour; very impressive! Again tremendous kudos to Patrick M. for dynamic job well done!!!
