Because Colorado Security Company is locally owned and operated, they are able not only to provide quick and timely service to their customers, but they actually live near them, sometimes in the same neighborhoods. This proximity allows them to truly understand and identify with the Denver area, and provides added peace of mind to potential security system customers. Many companies will waive the installation fee to make a sale, but Colorado Security Company does not even have an installation fee to waive. Installation is always free when you purchase a new security system with them. Get the services you need and not the ones you don't. After filling out a short questionnaire and selecting the items you feel you need, and omitting the ones you don't, you will receive a custom quote for your security system. They do offer three generic tiers to choose from as well. They don't have many, but all of their online reviews are positive. With eighteen, five-star reviews on their Google Business page, there is a lot of love shown from their customers.

Outsourced Monitoring to Monitronics

Like many online vendors, Colorado Security Company fails to list any of their pricing on their website. Instead, you must fill out their online questionnaire or get on the phone with one of their sales reps before finding out how competitive their rates and services are. While this may make for a more customized sales experience, it doesn't allow for an upfront comparison with their local competitors. Colorado Security Company works exclusively with Alarm.com products. While Alarm.com is a quality, respected brand in the security system industry, the lack of selection between multiple brands and product lines limit the customers flexibility to select higher or lower-tiered hardware that is more in line with expectations/budgetary concerns. The actual 24/7 monitoring of the security system is outsourced. Security system planning, installation, and maintenance is performed by Colorado Security System, but the rest of done through Monitronics. Because of this, there is a separate agreement for monitoring, and then two parties must be worked with if something breaks, an upgrade is needed, etc.

The Bottom Line

Having a local touch is a great thing, and this is shown in Colorado Security Company's exclusively positive online reviews. They provide great customer service and quick installation/service calls. The downside to going with them is that they don't provide security system monitoring, but rather they outsource this service to Monitronics. This requires a service contract to be signed and communication to be split between two companies for hardware upkeep and the day-to-day monitoring.

We own a vacation property in Colorado so it is often empty. We always had the fear of not knowing what was going on with the property when we were not there. A neighbor recommended Colorado security company and we have been very pleased. IMO their rates are fair. Professional to work with and have had no problems with them.
