BEWARE!!!!! Please choose another company PLEASE!!!! I wish I could give these cons a 0 star. They are really that bad, honestly. I was told I could transfer the contract to the new owner, in the event I sold the home. Well that's not the truth. Today, I mentioned I was selling the home. I was told I owed $1500 on the remainder of contract and $500 on equipment. I don't recall signing a 3 year contract, yet to have me pay for services I am not receiving is robbery. I then asked if I could transfer the services to the new owner since I'm being forced to pay $1500 for services I am not going to be receiving. I was told NO, the transfer can only take place in the case of a dead spouse! So, basically they are wanting the new owners to sign a new 3 year contact. This should be outlawed. I am planning to warn the new owners about ADT and recommend that they use another company. These people are unscrupulous cons. I will NEVER EVER use them again, mark my word.

Alarm.com and ADT are literally the worst security system on the market. The quality is extremely inconsistent and almost never as sharp as they claim it is. The system doesn’t record half of the triggered events, even though they’re set to record them. If someone comes onto your property, not only does it not record half of the events, but it won’t let you open the live stream while the camera is detecting motion. ADT rips us off on our monthly payment and we aren’t getting our money’s worth. I can’t even cancel the contract because my wife signed their asinine breach of contract disclosure. Their customer service is ridiculous and the installers are lazy. Half of our wires are exposed outside and things that customer service said we would get were not included, per the installer’s work order. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE TWO NAMES.

The tech that came to install the equipment was a third party contractor. He spent 11 hours at my house the first day and then had to return again the following day to complete the installation. While there on the first day he nicked the electrical wiring in the wall that killed all the power on the circuit to the outlets on one side of my house. I spent hours on the phone with multiple ADT representatives, all of whom had no idea who I was, whom I should talk to, that it's not their problem or responsibility, and that there are 2 different ADT agencies. One is corporate and one is the monitoring agency and they do not communicate. I was so disgusted after the complete disregard for the inconvenience, the property damage, risk of fire to my home that I terminated our agreement after being told that I would have to hire an electrician to repair the damage and someone to repair the drywall, wainscoting and paint, and submit the invoices for review. If they were approved it could take up to 90 days to process payment.

After more than 15 years as a monitored customer ADT wanted to charge me over $600 to upgrade to their new system because 5G technology made my old unit obsolete. Then I had to conform to a set package of devices or be charged for every accessories added. I just wanted to retain full perimeter coverage at ground level, ie all doors and windows… not a select few. For the cost of an upgrade and 6 months of monitoring fees I could purchase and install a monitored DIY system… design it to give me 100% coverage and I would own my equipment and could self monitor via my smart phone if I chose. That is what I did.

Very confusing relationship between the local provider/installer and the people you get when you call in. Franchising relationships are inconsistently serviced and priced. Contracts, too, are unhelpful and always in favor of ADT. I think their software systems are likely good, but their pricing is far outside any industry average and their service is far below.

They install the equitment and took the tech 7 tomes to get the ststem to reconized the cammera but after he left whoch was at 10 pm and that night lost cameras on google and called the custumer service and they wanted 115 buck to come outvand fix there mistake i knew then i didnt want any part of this company

I was talked into a system I repeatedly told them I did not need but they made me think the former owner had purchased the system and it only needed activation. The first day window sensors fell setting off the alarm and 7 months later it’s still not fixed. They refuse to cancel my service unless I pay the entire amount owed immediately

Horrible company and customer service. It's absolutely impossible to cancel even after the contract expires. They did not cancel ours on purpose even when I called weeks in advance. They actually kept charging on a monthly basis after the contract expired without our consent. I had to dispute the charges. Bad business practices.

Very unhappy 😡 my car was stolen my cameras by at setup 5 feet away and they didn't record the theft at all and how they would fix it was 1 free month of service
