On 6/12/22 marked exactly one year since I started using Foscam. During the course of the year I learned my way around this camera and their service and can summarize my experience with the following phrase: avoid at all costs.
I won't even attempt to write a pros and cons list because, honest to God or whatever, there are, literally, no pros, not from where I'm standing.
Cons, however, are plentiful, starting with the fact that this camera is slow and semi-useless even with a subscription to their cloud service and borderline unusable without it because trying to view recordings from your SD card takes so long that you will just give up 99% of the time.
The interface, both online, app and pc-based, is slow and buggy, everything takes ages to load, takes minutes to connect to camera, tens of minutes to retrieve recordings. The setup process is complex and uninuitive, just like the software, it is further exacerbated by the fact that the power cord has a 3" bulb that must be put through the wall prior to plugging it in. If the camera loses power all settings get erased, the maximum size of the SD card is 32gb, the wireless connection is weak and the antenna is bad, the picture is bad, video and audio are bad, the worst, however, are the "smart" features (subscription-based) that NEVER work right.
Now the subscription they forced upon me is finally expired I will get rid of this pseudo security camera and forget it ever existed, after I repair the damage to the wall installing it caused.
This is, by far, the worst camera slash gadget I ever bought and I will never, ever buy another one of their products again because their customer service doesn't exist, there are no repairs, they offer no help beyond selling you a useless human detection feature you don't need, I can't find a single nice thing to say about them, that's how HORRIBLE their products and services are.
