Officially created in 1962, Target was one of very few stores that combined fashion, quality, and service with the low prices of a discount store. As time went on, Target became more and more popular and began to branch out all over the United States. Now known for its motto of “Expect more, pay less”, Target strives for just that. This company wants their customers feeling like they are receiving a strong amount of quality for an appropriate price in all of their products. Target may not be just a furniture store, but they do have home furnishing options that may just entice the everyday customer.

The Good

  • Range of products
  • Practical and affordable
  • Return policy

Target has many great values going for them. They are a department store ranging from products in clothing and food, to things such as home and furniture. Selling furniture in their stores allows customers the convenience of purchasing items from all different departments in one place.  The categories of furniture they sell include lamps and lighting, rugs, bedding, bath, dining and entertainment and kid's home. The furniture sold at Target stores is found to be practical and affordable for those looking for the simple or temporary lifestyle. Other products are more durable and satisfactory for the everyday home. The combination of these products create shopping opportunities for all customers.  One plus about Target is their free shipping option. If customers pay for over $25 in merchandise they are eligible for free shipping which is very appreciated by many people I'm sure. With their slogan being "expect more, pay less", it's not a surprise to find promotions or deals popping up everywhere on their website. They are working to help customers find what they are looking for at the most convenient cost they can. Another benefit Target brings is that they have a solid return policy. They offer a standard 1 year warranty for all of their store-owned products. Products that are not store owned may be returned within 90 days of purchase. Target also offers a RedCard that may be beneficial to some. Customers using a RedCard become available to receive 30 extra days to return items. These cardholders will receive 5% off every purchase and free shipping on every purchase. Another plus that Target is able to do involves price matching. If a customer brings in a coupon or proof of the same product that target owns that is priced lower than what Target has it priced at, Target will price match. They are willing to price match for their customers, but will not match any special promotions or deals that may be going on at another stores, only standard pricing items. Target has a lot to offer the everyday customer and brings options to those looking for quality at a reasonable price.

The Bad

  • Selection
  • Delivery
  • Additional fees

Although Target has many perks, there are a couple things that make buying furniture slightly more difficult through their store. Since it is a department store and has a variety of many other products, the furniture section is not as large as some might prefer. They have little options compared to other furniture stores that strictly focus on selling furniture and home accessories alone. Two other categories that were found slightly concerning were the advertising/sales category as well as their delivery category. Individuals were complaining of issues regarding purchases not being dispersed correctly on their debit cards, as well as other troubles including honoring promises/promotions that were made on their website. Delivery issues consisted of individuals not being able to track their items after they were shipped, not receiving their items in a timely manner, and not being able to communicate successfully about delivery concerns with any representative from the company.  Customers complained of spending countless unnecessary hours on the phone or via email negotiating or brain storming solutions to their predicaments. Something else to be cautious of might include the extra fees that may be added to the price of the furniture purchased if it is excessive or is being delivered to a home that is farther away from the distribution center. The website might say free shipping, but it is a good idea to always check into the fine details to ensure you know what you really are paying for.

gavel

The Bottom Line

We suggest Target as a quality store to purchase your home furnishing needs from. They may not have the largest selection of furniture that other stores may be able to provide, but what they do have includes quality products at a reasonable price. Target has a free shipping option and hassle-free return policy that helps cater to customer's needs. "Expect more, pay less" is very apparent in Target's advertising and promotions. Again, Target strives to provide their customers with the best. Potential customers need to keep in mind that those complaints are very minimal in comparison to the total amount of transactions or purchases that are made within the company. Overall, we recommend shopping for furniture at a Target store.

They offer a wide variety of high quality products at overall good prices. My family and I have purchased things from clothing, to CDs, to greeting cards, to dish sets, to fresh popcorn. It's a great place to go to spruce up your wardrobe and keep it in the budget, or when it's school supply shopping time and you're counting on discounts but still want quality. Yet it's also eclectic enough that it's a go-to for special occasion items. For example, I would go here to find a birthday present for anyone at any age, and I would most likely find something cheap enough to fit my price range, but high quality enough to make me feel like I'm offering something of value.

At one time i would have given Target 5 stars in spite of the fact that their selection was very bad. Their prices are good sometimes better than Walmart and Amazon. Then they got ship it. No way would i pay $10 a month for something i would rarely use. They started taking items out of shipping and moving it to Ship it. I do still buy from Target but not as often as before

Target has a wide variety of products of mediocre quality. Pros: Average prices, great selection, Starbucks cafe in most stores, some basic grocery items, target circle deals can be worthwhile. Cons: Inventory can vary quite a bit by store, they jump too quickly onto current trends - not a great business practice that can increase prices for customers, some items are more expensive than in comparable stores.

I love Target. Target was the first store that really over the years increased products created by African Americans. Their book selections whether in the store or online has authors and characters that look like me and my grandchildren. My grandchildren can see themselves in books which I didn't at that age. They have upgraded their curbside area. I am disliking the long lines that have formed and the front store looking like Walmart. Target had cashiers at the end letting you know to come to their line. Lately, that has not been so. I have had to go to self check. When I go to Target on a last minute turn, I am not thrilled when I see that.

I've been a Target shopper for years, purchasing from every department from electronics, to make-up, to clothing and groceries. I'm always pleased with the selections of brands, including their exclusive in-house brands. Their regular pricing is competitive, but the best deals are certainly the sale prices. I'm always pleased with the customer service as well. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Recently I've been using the Target app to shop online and during covid lockdowns, heavily used the delivery pick-up options. This has become my preferred way to shop at Target, especially as we enter the holiday season. No more fighting the crowds! The app is very easy to use and I've never had any issues finding what I need. Again, the employees come through with excellent service.

Target has upped its game with shifting towards more fashionable furniture and home decorations. I really do like target because I know I can always find things there for a reasonable price that are good quality. Some of the items are a little expensive for what they are worth and so that is why I am leaving off one star.

I can find basically everything at Target. I love it. It has clothes, toys, and furniture. The services are great, they are really friendly and are always in a good mood. But some of the clothes and toys I think are really high prices.

Target has really stepped up their game over the last ten years. Their home decor and furniture is some of the cutest around. I really like finding affordable pieces that are cute and trendy. I have the target debit card so I always get 5% off my shopping. Target is a great place for one stop shopping.

My family loves Target, we use them for so many things. I think their furniture is super cute and has seemed to be great quality. Some of our things have lasted for years. They have kind of a small selection, but it's very cute and modern. My granddaughters love the bedroom set I got them.

I personally liked that it provides great number of options from furniture , home decor and also price range . I have tried from both store and website and both have been easier to buy from. Their store is well built and divided into sections and their staff is helpful without being pushy. My experience with this brand is overall good.

Target's style is top notch however their prices aren't as affordable as they used to be. Their prices went up well before inflation so it's not due to that. Their stores are a pleasure to shop in always clean and the staff is friendly.

I love Target and their home section just makes the experience of shopping at Target so much better. They have affordable kitchen ware, utensils, bedding, and bathroom stuff. This is all in addition to the decorative items they sell for your bedroom and living room. I've purchased some really nice lamps at Target. I've also purchased durable cookware and table cloths. All their stuff is affordable and cute. Also, if you're lucky, you can also find great deals on Home items in their clearance section.

As I navigated through Target.com, I found the website to be user-friendly and well-organized. The search bar made it easy to find specific items, while the clear categories allowed me to browse effortlessly. Product pages provided detailed descriptions and high-quality images, giving me a good sense of what I was purchasing. The checkout process was straightforward, and I appreciated the option to save my information for future visits. Overall, my experience with Target.com was positive, and I felt confident in making my purchases through their website.

Each time going to Target, I don't know what to expect. They have items not available in other stores, which, depending on the way you look at it, could be good or bad. When compared to Walmart, the selection may be similar but there are some differences. Prices are adequate but thats not to say there's not somewhere you can get the same thing for less. I prefer Target to Walmart; I like their clothing and jewelry selection. Whats also convenient is you can do your grocery shopping here. The Target dog is adorable, too.

I enjoy shopping at target. The quality of products are generally a little bit higher than discount stores like Walmart. Although very similar items. The stores are generally clean, but sometimes it's hard to find someone to help you. Also, inventory seems to have been Low for a while, but I think that's common for most retailers these past few months. I don't hold that against Target.

Target has really continued to elevate its collaborations. I love their home decor and you can drop by a store and pick up anything on your list for last minute shopping. The only thing I have strayed away from buying is girls clothing. It’s not as cute or put together when compared to boys clothing. Most of the girls tops has sparkles and does not look high end.

Everything you need in one spot. Great customer service at the ones I've been too. If i can buy it in store, they usually have it on line. What I don't like is that all the discounts and sales are on the app and the store never has good wifi. There should be some sort of manual way to do this. There are many items that are over priced when not on sale.

Much better than a mid-grade shopping experience of a similar kind, Target did not disappoint. It gave the feel of the department store experience of days gone by, yet in a bright, modern way. The products were of good quality and many of them quite unique. I found the customer service to be prompt, efficient and very friendly. Other good features of the store included the cute little cafe and departmentalized areas for cosmetics and hair care and other areas that catered to women. Also it smelled fresh and the entire store seemed clean and in order.

Target is an alright place to shop. They have a great selection of unique items. However, their clothes are cheaply made and beyond expensive. I can get better clothes on wish. The employees are usually nice but they are hard to find when you need them. The online ordering is usually pretty simple and efficient. Ship to store has its issues but overall I have used it several times.

I bought a pair of sunglasses that looked a lot like a pair I liked at the Sunglasses Hut. I tried them on, they fit so I bought them. They are now 5 years old and still look like new. What a great deal and value and they still don’t look outdated. The customer service isn’t good. I couldn’t find a CSR another recent time I was in the store. I was so frustrated by the lack of employees on the floor to help their customers.

Target is overall awesome and cool with modern stuff. The one problem I encountered with their online ordering was inability to combine payment types. Like i had a $50 gift card but i wanted to make a purchase of higher amount and the site wouldn’t let me use another form of payment to pay for the item when i entered the gift card info to complete the total Payment. Another issue is that Target does tend to be what i consider expensive!

I enjoy shopping at Target. Their store is light, airy, and the products are not all jammed together. The aisles are plenty wide for me ( I use a walker) so l'm not worried about crashing into a display or tripping over something. Something I appreciate about Target is that they carry products that are NOT offered in WalMart. The quality of their clothing is significantly better than their competitors. The only complaint is that it seems like their prices have risen a bit too high.

Target used to be an all right store. The furniture used to be from big brands such as ThomasVille. Now it is just very cheap particle board like things. They don’t hold up for very long. They look really nice but VERY overpriced for what you are getting. The bedding department is way overpriced. I have gone to other stores and for the same thing I can pay at least $10.00 less. I have gone to many different Targets and the best ones with the most is in Texas. Utah is pitiful. They really need to do something about them.

Sometimes the quality does not match up to the price. Things don’t always last as long as I would expect based on how much more they cost compared to other big box stores. That said, they have a great selection, the environment is great, and great customer service. The storey is easy to navigate and I can almost always find exactly what I'm looking for. I just wish the prices were a little better.

Love the ambiance at Target. We have a Super Target nearby and its super convenient! We love being able to go even really late at night and how it can cover a wide range of things we could need. They charge slightly more than say, a Walmart, but it's not very significant. Personally, I still like going to both, but I find it impressive that Target has been able to thrive even while charging more on pretty much everything. Maybe it's higher quality on some things?

I shop at Target often. I love how it feels (clean and happy), I love their merchandise (clothing, furniture, party goods) I do get frustrated by their return policy and I am not thrilled with their food section. I feel their prices are a little high on food and sundries, and wait to purchase those elsewhere. Nonetheless, it remains my "go to" store.
