Medicare and Medicaid

Signed up for the current 2023 year. Several calls for customer service regarding Medicare questions were answered in an ambiguous manner. The customer service people are always in a rush to get you off the phone. On my last call I indicated I would agree to taking a survey at the end of the call. The rep made sure he disengaged my call as I waited for the questionnaire to kick in. Just a feeling of 1) they really don't have the knowledge of the answers to give you, hence, they continually put you on hold; 2) they indicate they'll mail you forms needed for DME purchases but they never seem to come. I left Anthem thinking UHC would be a step up. Was I wrong.

Dental and prescription cover is good. Vision and Medical Need improvement. I bought the highest level I could in my company. All specialist are 80 dollars. UHC really tries to force the patient to use virtual appointment or Urgent Care. Their Optum Virtual care told me to wait an additional three day (7) if I still have a fever to then go to urgent care. They consider biopsy, a surgery and are taking from your high deductible (2-5k). When I complained, appeal was denied and the comments on the price said to use virtual care or urgent care. Really? Their customer services is nice yet all this is out of their hands. One of the worst insurances I’ve had.

I have been dealing with agents, specialists and corporate office staff since January 2023-today is March 20 still no answers!. A electronic check (still not sure if it was a physical/electronic check?) was sent on me and my wife's behalf--the receiver has state non-receipt of the check or electronic check (s). All is needed is proof of the electronic transaction code or a copy of the check deposited into the receivers account---Unite Healthcare finds this extremely difficult. Again same response--we are working on it--I am at the point of taking the small amount as a a lost as corporate cannot resolve the issue there is no other place to go. Very frustrating! dealing with (UHC).

This is one of the worst Health Care Plans I have ever been in and wish I could get out. The price is high and the coverage is terrible. I get a supplemental bill for everything after the fact. Trying to get a hold of someone on the phone is IMPOSSIBLE and take usually an hour of being on hold and they usually only cover about 60% of the bill and send you an invoice after the fact. Don't even think about getting any outpatient surgery - it will cost you twice as much out of pocket as what you are quoted. They have dropped testing labs without telling customers and you then get a bill for the entire amount. Valley Schools from United Health Care is just about the worst

We had UnitedHealthcare Medicaid Dental insurance.. The choice of dentists in the area are extremely limited, and they would change your main dentist to benefit them, so you would need to be on top of them. . We found them to be extremely limited in providers and the ones they provided were not fixing all the problems. For instance we had a child with 4 cavities, and they would fix 2 and say come back in 6 months...

I take care of patients on skilled nursing. Thank his plan systematically cuts patients off too soon and does not have a mechanism for physicians to advocate for their patient once the party appeals the denial. It is an endless loop of transfers and not knowing what to do. It’s ok as long as you stay out of the hospital or skilled nursing. I recommend against it as people become more frail.

If your sick & have ongoing issues this ins is going to cost u big time. No co pays are great at the office but wait til u need a test! The co-pays are outrageous! This yr alone I've paid almost $500. 00 in test co-pays. I'm disabled on a fixed income & can't afford to eat with these prices. Looking around for next year. Someone has amazing at the bottom here. AARP and United healthcare don’t care about their clients. They just care about making a profit even if it means cutting off the free gym membership they offered under Silver Sneakers. The benefits of Silver Sneakers helps so many seniors stay healthy, and now by cutting the coverage, seniors, will slowly go downhill. I am dumping AARP and United healthcare and going with Humana. Same coverage similar price and they pay for the full silver sneakers membership. I sure hope this move backfires on you AARP. !

Cann't seem to get our policy correct in their system. Insurance cards and plan summary show $30 co-pay. On the back end to the doctors it shows $60. United claims it was human error on data input on their side when processing specific claims. Still have not resolved after 3 months. how does it take that long to correct a human error and why do all of the doctors office my family visits still show the $60 co-pay? That is not a problem with one claim, that is a system problem.

Ong what is this in network but not tier 1. The difference is paying an office visit copay or having your entire visit go to your deductible and you unexpectedly get a bill from your provider. Only uhc understands this stuff and doctors think they're sitting pretty until you inform them that they are not. My pcp comes up at the top of the in network provider list whether I filter for tier 1 doctor or not, but she is not tuer 1. Ironically the only one in her practice who is not, but the most highly rated on their site. I'm appealing the claim. Even the insurance department and credentialing staff had no clue what I was talking about and they were just as surprised as I. Check your provider carefully, as for me I want to go #back2bcbs!

The insurance is affordable and the deductible is low, but they iften slow pay the doctors. They also change my prescriptions that my doctor gives out because apparently they know better. Also forced to use cvs pharmacy to get 90 day supply because they have a "deal" with them. Reeks of collusion

Don't like them at all. Lousey ins coverage and told one of the vendors after I had bought my ileostomy supplies for 3 months they would not pay because they were not an "approved vendor". I owe the pharmacy close to $600 that I have to pay myself.

With minor stuff they're fine. However, I had back surgery last year and they were a nightmare. They could not figure out when I satisfied my deductible and co- pay. I am still getting dunning letters from doctors and hospital.

I have been a client of United Healthcare for about (5) years now. Their app is extremely easy to use - as well as having a multitude of healthcare providers to choose from. However, I am not thrilled with the fact that they are dropping many healthcare providers because UH is refusing to negotiate their rates. I am in danger of losing not only my primary caregiver, but also my gynecologist, because of their refusal to compensate their providers fairly. Come on UH. If you drop my providers, I will be dropping you also.

My company recently changed to UMR through United Health. We are paying a lot in premiums just to have a high deductible insurance policy, then it feels like United Health does all it can to get out of paying for products/services. The processes to get coverage are difficult, complicated and frustrating. It is hard to trust any health insurance company these days.

I really wanted to like United Healthcare, however, when I had a medical concern and needed to be on a name brand medication they were completely unwilling to work with me. My doctor contacted them and I had written forms all stating that I had to be on a name brand medication for medical reason and that when I have tried 5+ generics in the past, I have had complications. They did not care at all and told me I would still have to pay the ridiculously high payment if I wanted to be on that medication. It was a truly awful experience.

If you live in Utah or Idaho United Healthcare has one of the largest coverage areas. I found the premiums to be rather high and the copays to not be great. If possible, I would always go with SelectHealth in these states.
