I met my out of pocket maximum in January, yet Ambetter has yet to pay for any of my medicines (which are many). Customer service is a joke. Most CSR’s are less than total idiots, and the ones that know something are not that great. Even the email support sucks. I had to file a complaint with the state insurance commissioner, hopefully that will be a black mark on their record whereby they will be penalized.

This Ambetter insurance is not a very good plan. I have had such difficulty getting my son's medication and treatments approved for coverage, frustration with customer service not understanding my son's needs and being able to tell me which medications are covered. Unbelievable that my son has been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and they have denied two medications - not covered and still he has no medications. With an over 300+ Glucose reading! Please rethink before you choose them. I will definitely be changing once the time is up with Healthgov.

Ambetter is supposedly an affordable insurance. What they don't tell you is that they keep their costs down by denying almost everything your doctor requests. They also do not provide any support whatsoever. Their phone "support" is a call center where the employees only read from scripts and no one can actually answer your questions. Pay a little more for another insurance company, don't waste your time with Ambetter.

Horrible experience! Worst website! Horrible customer service!They cancelled your membership early and blamed it on the Marketplace. After Marketplace verified that it was their fault, they still kept blaming Marketplace. Called them numerous times but they not only failed to resolve your problem, but also deleted the notes made by the 3 customer service representatives about the problem and replaced it with "Problem resolved". Already filed a complaint against this company. Avoid Ambetter! There are other better and more affordable options there.

So disappointed! I paid my premium back in december, it been almost a month and didn’t not receive my member i’d card or provider list in mail ! Called several times and still didn’t get it ! But they are so fast sending you email about your payment!! I am already so frustrated it about this insurance thinking about canceling! Website is not helpful at all !

Worst experience. At some point, they started to bill me for the full premium amount without tax credit deductible. Called them, and they said everything is fine and recommended me to call healthcare.gov. So everyone says is everything is fine. Now I can't even login into my account with them. Total scam, I can imagine how they handle the claims. Switching to another company would never recommend.

I could not get on the website and they never helped me to get on the website (did not send me a email to do that). They send me a bill to get the insurance for 2023 but it was over $1,000 a month so I threw it away. Tried to call to speak with a real person but on wait over 1 hour and then got kicked out. Yesterday I went on my bank website and they took over $2,000 withdraw. I dispute that on my bank website and then called today but was on wait over 2 hours and then kicked out.

worst insurance company i have ever met I just waste my time with them, they offer medical insurance app for " best service" but it app does not work, then i called costumer service and they don't resolve nothing, they said my insurance was cancelled for not reason, eventhough the premiun was paid on time, so the only solution they found was to give me my money back and tell me we're sorry

The worst. Every doctor they said they covered on their website or even under my plan wasn't covered. Essential services I need they said they cover they don't. Behavioral health? Non existent cause no one takes them. Physical health? Impossible noone takes them. I wish I could sue them for false advertising. I wouldn't have gotten a plan if I knew my doctor actually wouldn't take them, even though ambetter advertised they did. Waste of money and time. Useless.

Wow what an absolute nightmare. First experience with ambetter : found a doctor to see for ear pain through the ambetter guide on their official website. Went to an appointment only to find out that they do NOT take ambetter insurance and I then had to pay out of pocket $150 for a 2 minute appointment (no tests). Tried calling ambetter and got hung up on first try, then terrible choppy connection through the following 5 calls that ended up dropping me (my cell service was full bars.) DO NOT CHOOSE AMBETTER.

Regret picking this insurance company already. Customer service is deplorable. I spent 35 minutes on the phone the first time I called to ask a simple question, was put on hold at least 5 times, didn’t get my question answered, and wasn’t able to pay the 1st months premium because the customer service representative put all my information in wrong twice. I also got the app thinking it would be helpful, but it is 100% unusable. Doesn’t even work at all. All of this is unacceptable. Buyer BEWARE!!

If I can give a negative 100 star I would. 99% of the time you will get someone overseas who answers and you'll need a translator to understand anything the other 1% who actually speak English are brain dead!! This is THE ABSOLUTE WORST Insurance I have EVER had. They have denied coverage twice for imperative cardiac testing wanting me to jump through hoops and they aren't even paying anything until I meet a rediculously exorbitant amount for a deductible. I pay a 588$ a month premium just for myself. Choose another company if possible. Unfortunately in Indiana its Ambetter or Caresource and both are a waste of money!!!!!

Currently I do not recommend it to anyone, poor medical care, I think they have people hired as doctors and they are not, from my bad experience I say, when I started with them 3 years ago, it was excellent but over time, it started to spoil. Beware of accepting their offer of a cost free colon screening as provided in the Affordable Care Act. They will not process it as screening, so instead of no cost, we are stuck with a $1400 bill that we can't afford for a procedure that really wasn't medically necessary because there were no symptoms. You are supposed to get a colonoscopy after age 50. They will cheat you. After filing a grievance with them, they said that we weren't covered for a screening colonoscopy... EVEN though they sent us a message telling us so. Use anyone else if you can.

There is nothing good about this company. I knew I was getting "high deductible" insurance, but my experience with this company was the worst of my life. Customer service is horrible. They will basically take your money and give you nothing. Try to get an authorization; they will give you a never-ending run-around to get out of paying anything. Have a question? There is nothing to like about Ambetter Health Insurance. I only selected one star because that was the only option available. No stars would be more reflective of my evaluation. I live in a city with a sizeable hospital and yet Ambetter has a very, very limited number of doctors to be primary care physicians, dermatologists, and enologists that are part of their network. Their customer service is atrocious. They cannot even email information such as doctors in their network for specialty procedures or treatments.

Their customer service can never provide a clear answer and has just straight up told me the wrong answer on multiple occasions. This has caused serious delays in my healthcare. The only way to get a real answer is to complain on their Facebook page. I don't recommend and if I had more money I would go somewhere else.

The app is useless unless you are looking for their "perks & rewards". I don't need a discount on my phone bill (because it's not better than my regular rate); I just need to be able to access (at a minimum) my bill to confirm due date!! I'm very suspect of a line of credit they are offering. $750 line of credit to be used almost anywhere. Terms are "pay back later" and "never a finance charge". Yeah, rite. I hope the marketplace, (healthcare. gov), gives this company the boot at the end of the year.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to give this piece of crap company a review with negative stars. After assuring me four months ago that my upcoming surgery would be covered, they send me a letter 72 hours before the procedure telling me it isn’t approved. 12 months unabld to walk properly and they deny me 3 days before the surgery is scheduled!!! Absolutely despicable crimnal bastards. F this company! Not worth one cent, let alone the $900/month premium.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ambetter gave me an insurance quote of $46.44 a month. I was laid off from my job which made me ineligible for the tax break. Instead of informing me my insurance went up they just took $627.44 out of my account. This is theft. I agreed to pay $46.44 a month. Not $627.44. So far they haven’t refunded any of my money. If you have this insurance set up on auto pay I suggest you cancel it fast!!

NEVER USE AMBETTER. Their customer service is non existent. I tried to get a PCP through them and every single doctor that pops up on their list says I need a referral from Ambetter just for a primary care. So I call Ambetter and after getting hung up on several times and repeating my information over and over the representative told me that wasn't the case and then began just reading off the FAQ page of their website. So I cant even see a PCP. Theres a 1000 links to pay them but you cant actually use their trash insurance.

Ambetter is the worse health insurance company I have ever used. They reject 85% of prescriptions that our Ambetter approved doctors prescribe. These are things like a decongestant when a sinus infection is diagnosed. They also approved a colonoscopy but rejected the solution you are required to drink before the procedure. I would strongly advise avoiding Ambetter.

They claim to cover Farxiga yet denied coverage after having taken medication for 3 months under a Cobra plan that has expired and they will not accept responsibility to cover use as they say it is not medical necessary though Farxiga is the only medication so far to reduce my A1C. They should be ashamed to reel people in with false claims of coverage. What will they deny next?

BUYER BEWARE!!! I spent hours filling out their member rewards program. After a few months I finally received my debit cards, and they cancelled them before I was able to use them. Tried to call their customer service about it and they basically told me I was screwed. Why bother sending the cards? Dishonest company. Thank God I never needed to make an actual claim with them. This company is awful. I have been painfully waiting for a hip replacement. They said they wouldn't pay because I smoked, so I quit. A month later they said I had to wait 2 more weeks. Today they said they can't file the same claim again until it's been 180 days longer! Worthless, greedy p.o.s. I've got an appointment to talk to my lawyer soon. There's been many previous lawsuits against them. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from these heartless a$$holes.

Crap, crap, crap! I used to love this insurance, but since they have started using Envolve as their benefit & claims manager, it is nothing but crap. They force you to use specialists if you want your meds & devices covered after you jump through hoops. They don't cover any pen needles or syringes. Won't approve a lot of services... & the crapiest customer service by foreign speakers with heavy accents you can't understand! I absolutely hate them now. It looks like there are several doctors and many options, but every other provider's information is incorrect on the website. I have spent three whole days calling providers trying to get an appointment, and I have gotten through to ONE, just to be told the earliest availability is two months out. DO NOT USE.

Worst customer service ever experienced. Put on hold for over an hour while the "escalated" to an escalation specialist who we never talked to. Had to call again while on hold to see if anyone was ever going to pickup. Still don't know if resolved. Just a problem with a copay amount. Hope you don't have a serious issue. will be filing a complaint with state insurance commission. Pick another insurance provider.

Terrible service, denied ER cost, prescriptions (made by my doctor), refused to pay for doctor requested tests, scans, procedures that my previous insurance paid for without question. As soon as I can change (open enrollment) I will go with another insurance provider. I will never recommend them. If you value your life find another company.

Ambetter refuses to pay claims for routine mammograms and vaccines. My providers have repeatedly provided them with the info requested. Ambetter is a joke! They constantly have some excuse to get out of paying and drag things out too long. Pass this company by and get someone better. Worst company ever. Literally called 4 times and was charged double, after canceling. The lady answered the phone, “uhh hello” after being on hold for 10 minutes. I couldnt hear her over the child screaming and Still didn’t get my issue resolved. Spent another 20 minutes on the phone today to be told, we just have to wait for marketplace…. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with, and that is quite a feat. I am paying for a plan that says it covers services that they are actually refusing to cover. If I had just assumed that my insurance did what it says it does without calling them, I would've been stuck with a $25,000 bill. The customer service at this company is outrageously HORRIBLE. I could write a book on how terrible this company and their customer service has been to me. I would even go as far as to say that Ambetter is a scam, a total scam.

I have Ambetter, with dental and vision, problem is nobody accepts it. They gave me a list of providers but none of them accept it. Some of the providers they gave me were actually nursing homes. Then my payment of $624, which is on automatic payment, was taken out twice on February 28th, my due date, and good luck trying to get them to put it back into my checking account. When you call them they say wait 7 to 10 days and check back. Not everyone can afford an extra $624 to come out and then wait 10 days to get your money back. It has been 9 days and still no refund. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

I have now spent literally 14 hours and 25 calls (I'm tracking them) trying to get a relatively simple problem resolved with Ambetter. I had no issues with them last year - I thought they were good. But I have a policy/billing issue with them now - WHICH IS ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT - and can't get it resolved. There are too many departments who don't talk to each other - and no way to get a manager assigned - you have to call into the helpline and start over every time. SOOOO FRUSTRATING. Take your business elsewhere - not worth it.

They demanded we get an urgent care to call them about a bill that was supposed to be covered by their policy because they said it was out of network when their website clearly stated it was in network. Going into my second year, and not happy with Ambetter, I can't afford to pay high premiums, and need some physical therapy, but I have to pay 50% of the cost for each visit, I was told I could change my plan, but I explained that yes I could, but the monthly premium would go up, so it doesn't matter there's a no win either way you go, so I'm not getting physical therapy. Hopefully I can find something better next year

Do yourself a favor and pay just a little more for better insurance. I've learned quickly that doctors who are supposedly in their network are not actually in their network! Not only that, but they aren't accepting new patients even though the Ambetter site says they are. The search feature for doctors is a nightmare to navigate. Customer service has been terrible. I've been "disconnected" several times and when I do get someone on the phone they seem to not have an answer for anything. I can't wait until this year is up so I can go back to Blue Cross.

They have wasted hours and hours of my life waiting on hold transferring me around and generally not paying. I'm going to fight them tooth and nail. They make me so angry! I wonder how much (millions I'm sure) executives at this company steal from customers in the form of salary and benefits. They offer you some of your insurance payments back in pots and pans or other trinkets you pay for if you take a quiz.

Ambetter was authorized to take less than $200.00 from our account. They took almost $1,700.00 and are activity trying to keep the stolen money. We’ve called several times and are either moved from operator to operator or hung up on. Two of these overseas operators were caught lying to us about the situation. When a supervisor corrected the lie we were still given the runaround regarding the stolen money. They are an extremely frustrating and untrustworthy company regarding billing.

Beware! A pre-authorization that normally takes 24 to 72 hours has now gone on so long that I have had to file a grievance. Now I am waiting again on an estimated date for resolution. I have spent hours on the phone with “health care managers” trying to get answers to simple questions. They seem reluctant to help. I’m unsure if this is due to lack of knowledge/training or the language barrier with English as second language managers.

Same like most others complaints - network list not accurate at all. Isn't a SCAM to tell lies about provided services then charge money for it and then not taking the claims? We were looking for a podiatrist and out of 4 local ones listed in Ambetter network one only said that "they should be covered ,if are listed in the network list". Month later found out they were not. .... STAY AWAY FROM AMBETTER! We're out and being smarter with our choices of insurance for the future...

It is so hard to find a provider in network with Ambetter. Their website does not have accurate up-to-date information on the in network providers. I have reached out to 6 of the providers and none of them are in network or are taking new patients. Also, Ambetter customer service agents speak horrible English and instead of transferring you to a supervisor when you ask, they transfer you to the marketplace where you can not get help. All in all, I feel like this is horrible insurance with horrible customer service and I would NOT recommend them!

I was contacted by an Ambetter "rep" and told I could qualify for a $25/month plan. Of course I was interested in receiving more info & gave her contact info. She also gave ME contact info. Her line remains unanswered. Since, they have removed cash from my bank account. I NEVER gave them banking info! How did they do this??? Attempting to get legally-required Plan Documents, such as Plan Description and SBC. These reviews don't give me much hope...

I have been very ill and even though my doctor called and talked to the authorization "nurses", they still turned down my much needed CT of the abdomen and pelvis that was already scheduled. Now I have to wait weeks in a pandemic for an ultrasound. This is the second time that they have denied a much-needed medical test that my doctor insisted that I need. Worst insurance company ever. If you have any choice at all, do not choose Ambetter. Your life may depend on it.
