The Bad
- Undisclosed Information
- Contract Terms
- Termination Fee
Undisclosed Information
Unfortunately, we could barely find ANY information regarding Conservice's deregulated energy services. This makes it almost impossible for a customer to shop around. When researching the company we couldn't find information for rates, minimum usage fees, monthly service fees, late payment fees, deposits and payment types available. In order for a customer to get any information, they have to fill out a form which requires a good chunk of personal information a person might not feel comfortable submitting.
Contract Terms
Conservice Energy did publish that they require a minimum of 12 months for a contract. Customers who are looking for short-term solutions will not be able to find one with Conservice because year long contracts are sometimes long. A majority of other deregulated companies offer monthly contracts which puts Conservice behind the competition.
Termination Fee
In order to cancel from a year-long contract with Conservice Energy, a customer would have to pay $180. This is a fairly high cost because most other cancellation fees can be found in the low $100 range. Although it's important to note that there are a couple others that will exceed $180.

The Bottom Line
It's hard to review, rate and even consider a company if they are not willing to post any information online that a customer will need to know when signing up. A customer shouldn't even waste their time looking into Conservice Energy because customers will easily get stuck when trying to research information. With dozens of other deregulated energy companies servicing Texas, we highly recommend potential customers look elsewhere for better and more transparent options.
