I have Cigna dental through my employer and pay for both me and my daughter to be covered with a reasonable monthly premium of about $100. The dental plan helped me pay for her to get orthodontic care when she needed it. Cigna covered $2,000 of her treatment which made it much easier to afford care. The customer service is very responsive and quick to act on issues or claims you have.

Cigna doesn't cover anything. They apparently think that their clients just love taking test and don't believe any of the tests and procedures are actually necessary. They've been so awful and we've paid out of pocket in full for every single thing. I don't understand what the half a thousand dollars a month was even for.

If you have Delta Dental as insurance, then you can pay little to nothing for services. The good thing is that co-pay prices tend to decline the longer you have insurance. They also have good customer service if needed.

Still waiting on hold for customer service - 1 hour 18 minutes. Really? Shame!! And unacceptable! I will be changing dental insurance for my company. It sure would be nice to have an estimate of wait time at beginning of call and updates as time passed. If they have NO ONE to answer calls, they should allow a message to be left.

The Final Word

Cigna offers three dental insurance plans to choose from with different levels of coverage offered. Plans cover preventive care only, preventive and restorative care, and preventive, restorative, and orthodontics.

However, if you want to look at more options, Delta Dental offers four different plans for individuals and families. These plans have different network structures and covered services vary. You can purchase plans with in- and out-of-network coverage, just in-network coverage, a fee-for-service plan, or a dental discount plan from Delta Dental.

Cigna also offers personalized support through Cigna Dental Health Connect™. The program helps you be proactive with your dental care and gain insights. This service is a nice benefit of buying a Cigna dental plan.

Cigna stands out from Delta Dental because general information on group dental plans available are easier to find. Cigna offers group plans with just in-network coverage, in-network and out-of-network coverage, and indemnity structures. For more information on what Delta Dental offers in your state, you'll need to contact the company directly or look at the state specific site.

If you're looking for dental insurance to cover yourself and your family. Both companies are trusted choices. Delta Dental offers an indemnity plan, which gives you an additional option compared to what Cigna offers. However, if you'd like support in being proactive regarding your dental health, you'll want to choose Cigna for its Cigna Dental Health Connect™ program.

It's easy to view general information about Cigna's group dental plans, which makes it easier to determine whether a Cigna dental plan will work for you. While Delta Dental is a trusted insurer, you'll need to contact them directly to learn more about your options.
