The Good

  • One-on-One Help
  • Low Minimum Debt Requirement
  • Works with a Variety of Debts
  • Positive Customer Reviews

One-on-One Help

We love that Rescue One really focuses on helping customers one-on-one, with individualized help throughout the entire debt settlement.

The settlement process typically takes between 24 to 48 months. They also offer free consultations. Rescue One has 72 consumer and financial consultants - each one is licensed as a California Finance Lenders.

Because Rescue one offers multiple debt solution services, the company reviews each person's financial situation to see what type of help they qualify for.

If the company believes consolidation or a personal loan is a better option, they will recommend that and establish a plan with clients.

Low Minimum Debt Requirement

Rescue One Financial only requires customers to have $8,000 in debt compared to the industry average of $10,000 to $15,000.

Works with a Variety of Debts

From its list of debts they help with, Rescue One Financial seems to work with more debts than most debt settlement companies. The company can help with:

  • Credit card debt
  • Medical bills
  • Cars in repossession
  • Unsecured debts (personal loans, lines of credit, and private student loans)

Positive Customer Reviews

People love the integrity and professionalism help of Rescue One's customer service representatives. Reviews also state Rescue One will point customers in a different direction when the company isn't a good fit for debt resolution.

The Bad

  • No State Eligibility Information
  • Negative Customer Reviews

No State Eligibility Information

Rescue One does not provide any information on their website about their state eligibility. When we called for information regarding which states the company doesn't do business with, the Rescue One representative declined to release the list.

Negative Customer Reviews

Some people have been turned off by Rescue One's advertising practices. The company has been known to mail out prequalified loan letters to people with financial hardships, reject them, and then offer them debt resolution services. Many consider this practice shady.

The Bottom Line

In order to see if you are eligible, the company wants customers to call in for their individual state requirements, as they will not disclose a list of state eligibility online or over the phone. Because they do not share state availability, information on a money-back guarantee, and do not list pricing information online, we do not recommend working with Rescue One Financial to settle your debts.

People want to get on this company because they have bad credit and simply don't qualify for a loan. I was given the option to qualify for a loan and when I asked about certain reviews of this site, they were very honest to tell me the truth. I understand lending parameters unlike other people. I know for a fact if i didn't qualify for the loan, I would be more than happy to have a different option. PLEASE, do not listen to the un-educated people om here, they are truly a great company that has helped out many people such as myself. I'm truly grateful with the great customer service they provided. Thank you again for all, you guys rock!!

I never actually signed up to use the service because through dealing with Rescue One I got an education on my financial situation that helped me work through my debt on my own. They actually helped me decide what was best for me rather than trying to collect some fees like most companies do. They were very knowledgeable and I really appreciated them sharing their expertise. I am no financial guru and I never leave reviews but I thought it was pretty special that they were willing to lose my business to actually help me out. If I ever get into financial trouble again I will definitely be calling them back.

I received a pre-approved letter offering a loan up to $80,000. from Simple Path. I called and was told that I was approved at 23% interest, which is more than double what I pay on my credit cards. They obviously knew I would reject the loan and quickly shifted the conversation to debt consolidation. I was told that my 746 credit score would only take a 20 point hit for 2-3 months. After some research the drop is closer to 200 points. I was pressured to e-sign a six page agreement without a chance to print it and review it overnight. When I explained repeatedly to the salesperson, John L, that I don't ever sign documents without a hard copy, an in-depth review, and complete understanding, he terminated the conversation. I then went back to read the documents online and found that he had immediately deleted them. What do they have to hide? Previously I asked him why a credit card company would settle for a substantially lesser amount and no future interest payments. He said they simply wanted a guaranteed payment sooner rather than later. I have been current on all my credit cards for over twenty years. So, if I were a creditor I'd rather charge 10-12% interest on the full amount knowing that the customer is extremely likely to continue their payment history. Rescue One Financial is practicing classic bait and switch tactics, as other reviewers have pointed out. BTW, they are affiliated with Freedom Financial, whose business practices are even more underhanded. I had the misfortune of speaking with them recently. Stay away from these companies!

Edgar S is the person that reached out to me by email. The send the info. to the wrong address because the young lady that took it got it wrong, even after I spelled it out for her. Edgar S called me at 9:00pm to tell me that he was still working on my loan, but that was not the case he was trying to find a company that would loan me the money. You see this is how it works, the are a consulting firm they shop your credit with several different companies and charge you a fee for doing so if you get a loan with them, and when they can't they try to get you to consider a consolidation plan which will DESTROY your credit. They are a big SCAM, please look at the pre-offer that they send you in the mail very closely. What the letter states is that they will help you lower your credit card debit by giving you a loan to consolidate and lower your interest on the cards you have. However, you never get the loan to do that because the claim your debit to ratio is too high. If it was low why would I be getting a loan from them? That is the point why you apply based off there letter or I would not have applied.......What a SCAM.....everyone should RUN.

I spoke with an agent multiple times before going with Rescue One after receiving information in the mail. The agent made me feel like she was knowledgable and I was comfortable in my decision. Until I found out how it actually worked. You don't pay anything on your cards. You go into financial "hardship" - creditors call you a million times a day, so you never answer your phone again. You keep seeing interest and fees pile up, and your credit score plummet. Although I had a large debt amount, my credit was in the 700s range, because I made my payments on time. After joining the company, I have one card paid off, but my credit score is in the 500s, and I am being sued by American Express. I never thought it would be this bad - and the company does not provide full disclosure of what happens during the process. I keep calling to try to see some progress being made on my debt - but this company has ruined my credit and regret the day I decided to sign up. Every single time I call, I speak with someone new. No one seems to know what's going on, and I have no control in making requests on who I would like them to pay. If you haven't ruined your credit already - GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE! And the fee is 20% of your dollar debt amount - very high.

I received the solicitation in the mail, saying that I was preapproved for a loan of up to $35,000. When I saw this, I knew that there were stipulations, and figured that it was some kind of ploy, intended to get me to call. I was not really expecting much from the program, however, I was willing to see how it would play out. When I got placed in touch with a representative, they proceeded to run my information and get an overall feel for my situation. Ultimately, I did not qualify for the loan option. Instead they wanted to redirect me to select the debt settlement option. They did not take the time to explain the methods that would be used to enact the settlement option, more so that I would be eligible to pay back my debt at a lower cost. They also did not take the time to inform me how my credit would be affected after the settlement had been reached and my debt had been paid off. Instead, my analyst proceeded to treat me like my credit score, completely ignoring the facts that led me to my situation, continuously stating that people with my credit score don't understand money and repayment options work and other condescending remarks such as these. They also proceeded to call me every week and send numerous emails for several months, which made me question if this program is so great, why hound me into trying to pursue their resolution program? I can only assume that the commission is pretty high for the analysts once they close a deal. All in all, I was highly displeased with their marketing tactics, with the way that they treat their customers or potential customers, the constant calls and emails, and the overall lack of transparency and general interest in the well-being of the customer. They are ultimately just after the payday at the end.

Spoke with two separate people who gave me two competing versions of information. Seems very shady and riddled with lies. One guy (both people had the same title) told I was not approved for a loan and a second person said that I was approved for a loan. The first guy told me several lies and discounted the information received by his own co-worker and the co-worker did the same. So who knows what the actual truth is. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE.

Rescue One is not a lender but a marketing company which receives compensation for referrals to Freedom Debt Relief. They use the bait and switch method to trick consumers into signing up for a debt relief program. They tricked and lied to me and cost me 10's of thousands of dollars. I have filed complaints against them with the FTC and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
