They have done an acceptable job of negotiating the balances, however they failed to acknowledge that the Discover account would not be negotiated due to Discover's own rules. I believe FDR knew this which allowed us to be sued for no good reason. The problem is their communication! They are very secretive and try and handle communication with the front desk "lackies", who have no authority. Thus this program drug on longer than necessary. Since they have been 'called on' this practice, they now have an immediate response to me. Too little too late. I would not recommend them without their communication being more customer friendly.

One problem is that they send multiple texts, e-mails. i received an offer on text it said to type the above code to authorize expectance of offer, wich i did..then i received texts and e-mails after that..so i had to go to my FDR account to authorize the same account already authorized..they need to get there systems together so the client (me)don't get whizzed like i did and informed them about but no follow up from them.

I am so impressed with FDR! Within a month of joining they already had a settlement done. They had stipulated 4-6 months but by the end if the first week I got an email stating that they needed an approval on a settlement. This company is so organized and clear about everything. Freedom debt relief does a good job negotiating settlement for credit card debts. They take all the work away from you and it is a tremendous relief not having creditors hound you. However what they don’t really tell you is that they charge a lot of fees. They charge substantial “settlement fees” which are not included in their brag ads. For instance A debt of $90 may sit for a year or two by which Time it’s now $100 owed () then they negotiate a settlement for $50 And say they reduced the debt by 50% but they don’t mention that they also charge $20 worth of settlement fees which makes your ACTUAL savings only 30%. Then the settlement might call for 24 payments spaced over two years and each time they charge a fee for the payment to be “processed” These fees may range from $3 to $10 for EACH payment-even if it’s an ACH transfer. So if you have 5 debts being paid then you pay this fee for each debt.

Ability to set up a long term plan while negotiating with lenders at a manageable income based rate. However, the fee of 25% on original debt, once a settlement is made, is a bit steep, so the negotiated settlement is a 10-25% savings in the end.

What I like best about FDR is their persistence in resolving my financial matters with minimal amount of funds in my dedicated account. I could not be more pleased. What I least like is the dedicated account not reflecting realtime activity. When reviewing the dedicated account after funds removed from my bank account I discovered it took 3-5 days before the deposit was posted.

I like the structured method of debt repayment. I didn't save as much as I thought. I did not like the uncertainty of the end cost and graduation date moving all over the place. I always paid on time and more than the agreed amount but the graduation date currently extends several months beyond the 4 year agreed period. This is not at all what I understood when I signed the agreement. I understood 4 years. Period. Plus the litigation protection costs. Oh well. almost done.

They do settle your debt and help you manage it but it does destroy your credit and they do have high settlement fees that they charge once a debt is settled. Also don't purchase the extra legal protection complete waste of money. Overall they did what they said the would do and everybody is super nice, friendly, and helpful. I am halfway done with the program.

Good experience they stay on top of getting your debts resolved No phone calls and if you should you get one all you have to do is say Freedom Debit is handling and they hangup. Paying off in a timely matter. when a bill is paid off they notified me and you give authorization.
