MyScore.com strives to help consumers gain a clear understanding of their credit, manage it more effectively, and protect it against the escalating threat of credit fraud and identity theft.

The company works to educate its members about today's complex credit industry and empowers them to make smarter financial decisions.

MyScore.com gives members access to credit scores from all three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion). The credit monitoring company also provides tri-bureau credit alerts, 24/7 monitoring, credit fraud consultation service, and more.

Those interested should note that the company does, however, charge slightly higher monthly fees than many other companies in the industry.

The Good

  • Free Trial
  • Three-Bureau Reporting
  • Daily Refresh Rate
  • My-Rewards Program
  • Online Credit Learning Center

Free Trial

MyScore.com offers consumers a free seven-day trial of its credit monitoring services. During this trial period, members can take advantage of tri-bureau credit reports, email alerts, a credit fraud consultation, 24/7 roadside assistance, and the MyRewards program.

Three-Bureau Reporting

Unlike some other companies in the credit monitoring industry, MyScore.com gives members access to credit scores and reports from all three major bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion). Because of this, customers can get a comprehensive look at their credit scores.

Daily Refresh Rate

While many other companies offer weekly or monthly refreshes, MyScore.com refreshes credit scores and reports on a daily basis, so customers can get an accurate look at their credit in real-time.

My-Rewards Program

MyScore.com offers a fairly unique rewards program for members called My-Rewards. The My-Rewards program is designed to help members obtain savings on various products and services. Some benefits that members can get from this program include roadside assistance, travel and hotel discounts, and more.

Online Credit Learning Center

MyScore.com gives all website visitors access to its online credit learning center. This page provides consumers with several pieces of helpful credit information.

The topics covered on this page include credit scores, credit reports, credit protection, and credit management. Consumers can use the information on this page to improve their current credit situations and future credit decision-making.

The Bad

  • Undisclosed Scoring Model
  • Higher-Than-Average Price
  • Information Sharing

Undisclosed Scoring Model

It is unclear which scoring model MyScore.com uses to report its customers' credit scores. Most lenders use the FICO scoring model to determine a borrower's creditworthiness, but some credit monitoring companies only report VantageScores, meaning that the score the customer thinks they have is different than the score that lenders are looking at.

The lack of transparency in this area can be frustrating for potential customers who would like to be sure that they'll receive a FICO score rather than a VantageScore.

Higher-Than-Average Price

After the trial period, MyScore.com charges $39.90 per month for its credit monitoring services, which is relatively expensive when compared to the price charged by several other top credit monitoring companies.

Information Sharing

According to MyScore.com's privacy policy, the company reserves the right to sell and trade its users' personal information. In addition, there is no way to opt-out of this.

The Bottom Line

MyScore.com offers a free trial, three-bureau credit reporting, daily refreshes, as well as helpful services like credit fraud consultations and a rewards program. The company also provides a useful online credit learning center.

Unfortunately, the company has not disclosed which scoring model it uses and its price is higher than what most companies charge for paid credit monitoring services. Additionally, the company may share personal information with third parties.

If you are looking for a credit monitoring service that offers three-bureau credit data as well as additional services, MyScore.com may be the right fit for you. However, if you are searching for a more budget-friendly service, you may want to continue your search. We recommend that you conduct thorough research and read several customer reviews before you sign up for any credit monitoring service.

I just had a horrific problem with MyScore. While signing up it a notice popped up that said I already had an account with them but no information was given nor was a chance to sign in with a user name and password that is nearly unbreakable that I use with these types of companies. I brushed it off and kept entering the required info. I must have typed my phone number and social security number 3 or 4 times. Once I got in, the real problems started. Only my TransUnion score was available. The boxes for Experian and Equifax said "order now". When I clicked on either I was taken to a page that told me my scores would be available for free 7/13/16, exactly a month from today the day I signed up. I called customer service to get some reason as to what was going on and after 5 transfers I got no help. The 1st person I talked to was a wise ass. He kept saying, "I cant hear you, I cant hear you..." So naturally I talked louder. Then he told me he notated the account that I was a belligerent customer. I called him out on that but little good it did. One gal tried to reset my password by sending me an email. I went through the process with the same results. After that I told her I wanted to cancel. I expected three scores. I have Credit Karma and they only have two credit bureau scores. One of them is Transunion and their score was 95 points higher than MyScore. After asking to cancel i was told I would be transferred. I wasnt. I was dropped. I called back and after 3 more transfers I finally got someone who could do it. I told her that after she cancels my account I would like to speak to a manager. She canceled my account and transferred me. I got a very soft spoke gal who asked me a dozen security questions and then asked what the problem was. I ran through the litany of issues and while talking to her I happened to check my email. I didn't see it before but I got an welcome email from them that told me to logon and it had BOTH my user name AND password in bold letters. Such a huge security risk. You simply don't do that. That is like sending someone their ATM care with the pin number. If someone hacked my email provider or my computer they would have everything needed for identity fraud. I explained this to her and I got no reaction. She simply didn't get how egregious it was. So after explaining all the problems I got a meek "Im sorry, is there anything else I can help you with?" I told her I wanted these problems sent up her chain of command. She said she would do that....ya right. Now I am watching my bank account like a hawk. This company is a nightmare.
