Blue Unlimited is no longer in business.
As of April 2020, Blue Wireless (aka Blue Unlimited) has sold its airwaves to Verizon Wireless and is no longer conducting business. As a result, information in this review may be out of date and verified Blue Wireless reviews no longer relevant. Former Blue Unlimited customers can visit our Verizon Wireless review page for more information about their new service.
The “New” Blue Wireless offers unlimited calling for flat monthly fees, without a contract, in cities from coast-to-coast. Blue Wireless is an independent regional CDMA provider based in New York state, with coverage in New York and Pennsylvania. Blue Wireless boasts that there is no catch claiming, "You truly have unlimited minutes every month—this means you can talk as much as you want, as often as you want for one low monthly fee.”
Since Blue Wireless is a small provider, they do not provide some of the services that larger carriers have made available. That being said, Blue Wireless focuses on a certain type of customer and tries to provide an optimal service for them.
The ideal Blue Wireless customer is someone who wants a basic, easy-to-use cell phone and only plans on using standard cellular services (talk and text). For those looking for an inexpensive way to provide these types of services, Blue Wireless may be a carrier to consider.
Their plans are broken down as follows:
Customers also have the option to upgrade to high speed data for another $15 more/month. Blue Wireless services are straightforward and a great option for the casual cell phone user. There are also no "hidden" fees or long-term contracts.
Currently, Blue Wireless' service is relatively limited. They only service the Pennsylvania and New York regions at this time.
Current Blue Wireless customers have also experienced problems with their mobile products and were unable to receive a refund. Since their device selection is so limited, those interested in latest cellular technology may be disappointed in what Blue Wireless offers. There are smartphones available, but there are no Apple iPhone products for sell. Other common complaints from current Blue Wireless customers include:
Blue Wireless is providing a basic service for those who do not wish to get all of the bells and whistles out of their cell phone provider. They focus their efforts on providing basic phones at a low price complete with standard plans. Blue Wireless is not going to be the right option for someone interested in the latest cellular technology or for those who want to maximize the use of a smartphone.
