Basic Warranty Features

Protect My Car offers three extended warranty plan choices. These plans offer coverage for repair costs for parts specified in the contract, with added features offered for higher-tiered plans. The max mileage covered by these extended warranty contracts is 125,000. 

Here's a basic breakdown of the three Protect My Car extended warranty plans: 

The Driveline Plan

  • Deductible — $200

The Driveline extended warranty from Protect My Car is designed for high mileage cars that are 4–10 years old that have clocked 80,000+ miles, Driveline covers the following systems: engine, transmission, transfer case, differential assembly, drive axles, cooling systems, air conditioning and heating, timing chain, and electrical systems. The coverage period for this extended warranty lasts up to five years or 125,000 additional miles.

The Select Plan

  • Deductible — $100

Designed for vehicles with more than 50,000 miles, the Select plan from Protect My Car provides all Driveline plan benefits, plus front and rear suspension, and select brake system components. 

The Supreme Plan

  • Deductible — $100

Comparable to a traditional bumper-to-bumper new car factory warranty, PMC's Supreme vehicle service contract includes coverage for the vehicle's turbocharger, in addition to the systems and components already covered in the Driveline and Select warranty plans. Clients can also add coverage for the navigation system.

Vehicle Maintenance Plans

Protect My Car's Ambassador vehicle maintenance contracts for older cars help differentiate it from many car warranty competitors. PMC's Ambassador Maintenance Plans offer contract holders discounts on repairs, plus a handful of other fully covered services.

Most vehicles are eligible, regardless of their age or odometer reading, including certified pre-owned vehicles. The product line is ideal for consumers with cars with more than 150,000 miles or cars that are over ten years old.

Ambassador Maintenance Plans include the following basic benefits: 

  • Two tire rotations per year
  • Three oil changes per year
  • Rental car reimbursement
  • Guaranteed repair bill savings of 25-75%

All Ambassador plans cover the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive axle, differential assembly, front and rear suspension, cooling system, air conditioning and heating, electrical, select brake system components, timing chain, turbocharger, and navigation. None cover navigation repairs. Plans differ by their required deductibles and additional benefits. Typically you pay for these plans through monthly payments.

Ambassador Elite

  • Deductible — 50%

This car warranty contract is the most comprehensive plan offered through the Ambassador plans and also the most expensive. Aside from the coverage available on all five of the plans, it also offers roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement, free oil change, and free tire rotations. A 50 percent deductible is required for this plan. This means that you must pay 50 percent of the licensed repair facility's original estimate of the cost of repairs. There is no required deductible for the oil changes, tire rotations, roadside assistance, or towing.

Ambassador Pro

  • Deductible — 50%

Aside from the coverage that all the plans offer, this warranty plan also offers rental car reimbursement, free oil changes, and tire rotations. These four additional benefits do not require a deductible, but the other features have a 50 percent deductible. This requires you to pay 50 percent of the licensed repair facility's original estimate of the cost of repairs. 

The Pro plan does not provide any roadside assistance benefits. 

Ambassador Platinum

  • Deductible — 25%

Aside from the coverage that all the plans offer, this warranty plan also offers roadside assistance. 

Roadside Assistance

Protect My Car offers its customers 24/7 roadside assistance as part of all warranty plans. Emergency roadside assistance gives peace of mind because no matter where you are, you can get help in the event of a breakdown.

Rental Car Benefit

Protect My Car also offers rental car benefits when your car needs a covered repair that is scheduled to take four or more hours to fix. 

Rental car reimbursement offers additional financial security because it makes it easier to rent a car if you need one while your car is in a repair facility. It also offers consistent and reliable transportation while their car is in a repair shop because the cost of a rental car is reduced through the refund stipulation outlined in the vehicle protection plan.

Flexible Payment Options

Protect My Car's extended warranties have flexible payment terms, which makes it easy for car owners to find an affordable plan with monthly payment plans that last 36 to 48 months.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

All PMC extended warranty plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee, offering a full refund of your down payment. 

If you cancel after the first 30 days, you are entitled to a prorated refund (based on time or mileage), but an additional $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund amount. 

In either case, any claims paid will be deducted from your refund amount. 

Insurance Policies Available

Protect My Car is also a third-party, licensed insurance vendor in 21 states. The warranty company can offer discounted renters, homeowners, and auto insurance. Bundling policies can provide an additional discount.

When potential clients request a quote on an insurance policy from Protect My Car, they will receive quotes from five car insurance companies partnered with Protect My Car.

Was calling my doctor office rushing dialed this company. Doctor number 866 instead dialed 888. So the guy tells me I won a free oil change and towing just for calling thought it was weird but continued to listen the guy said it was a program. Switched me to another person as he was talking I realized it was a warranty company. The guy was very rude basically called me a lier and kind of told me I didnt have any money. As we was hanging up I heard him talking about me. When I called back my number all of a sudden is blocked. Called back twice and the voicemail said the number I dialed does not cover my number or zip code area. Why would I want to go with a company that workers put their personal feelings into selling warranties?! So unprofessional he barely would let me talk kept over talking me and saying slick stuff which was demeaning. Definitely won't be buying their policy. If I didnt have to click a star it would be nothing rating. Because that's what That worker acted like. Probably just mad he didn't make commission.

I had my first experience with my protect my car and I can not say it was pleasant. Dropped the car off with the mechanic for work on my a/c. Mechanic called protect my car 3 times to start work 20 minutes each time no one available to answer the call. I finally had to call myself, talked to Anna after waiting 30 minutes, I talked her into calling the mechanic even though it is against policy. After 25 minutes on the phone with my mechanic they denied the claim wanted to send out an inspector. My mechanic said who is going to pay for using my shop and pay for the 1 1/2 hours he had to spend on the phone and leaving the car at his shop for the next 24-48 hours. I have to get the last years service records together. The mechanic said I could come and get my car protect my car and Anna was unprofessional an not worth money out of his pocket. Anna wants me to go to a chain mechanic shop. But I don’t see that making any difference if you have to be on hold for over 20 minutes or more before you can talk to a human being. I am ready to call the better business bureau. So I took my car home and protect my car close my claim I am no closer to getting my air conditioning fixed and not a good thing to piss off your mechanic. PS. I had to pay the mechanic $ 90 for his time and still no a/c.

The worst company on the face of this Earth to deal with service is terrible bait and switch not right trying to get you to get some policy that you don't need I tried to call and cancel the policy lady want to give me another policy word game I'm going to call again tomorrow to cancel I don't need to service the service is not good for me is actually cost me money we all kind of excuses try to scare me into keeping the coverage

Protect my car is very bad about defining what is 100% mechanical and electrically covered, this policy is full of loopholes, and it's essentially a very well played out scam. I've spent $500 of coverage to protect my car so far, I have $2,200 in repairs they won't cover so now I'm technically upside down on this deal and my car. At this point it'd be more cost effective to lease a BMW which is ridiculous. Thank you PMC, I will let all my friends know this is a huge scam and I learned my lesson about 3rd party insurance. I hope this company goes bankrupt, it's the least you guys deserve!

Policy is full of loopholes. The list of exclusions alone should raise red flags. This is an unlicensed, unregulated, predatory offer. I recommend speaking with your licensed insurance agent before you ever consider one of these. They can show you the gaps and risks. What they say up front to sell this is NOT WHAT YOU GET
