The Bad

  • No 24/7 Roadside Assistance

No 24/7 Roadside Assistance

One common additional benefit offered by car warranty providers is 24/7 roadside assistance. Good Sam does not offer this additional benefit. If this benefit is an important feature for customers, they should consider another company.

The Bottom Line

Good Sam offers great warranties for personal vehicles, trailers, and motorhomes. Few extended warranty providers offer policies for trailers or motorhomes, which makes Good Sam stand out.

Good Sam’s warranties are reliable because they are fully underwritten, which means that customers can be sure that they will last even if Good Sam goes out of business.

The only feature lacking in Good Sam’s warranties is 24/7 roadside assistance. However, the warranties are high quality and can be customized to meet customer needs. Good Sam is a great option when it comes to car warranty companies.

RRJG2 Guilfoyle Gainesville, FL

We are a Good Sam family. We have most of their offered services and plans. I'm extremely disappointed in them and will NO LONG refer people to them. I purchased the Good Same Extended warranty for my Honda 5 years ago when my Honda warranty expired. I've used it 1 time when the starter went a couple years ago. Just recently my Honda was having a problem so I brought it to the shop. Turns out there was a issue with the pistons and rings that was a known Honda issue in my year vehicle. The issue only affect 3 years of my Honda, so it is not a huge issue. Even though the Good Sam Extended warranty says they cover Pistons and Rings they REFUSED to pay the $4000 for the issue because they had not heard of the problem before. The Service Technicians at Honda said that all other extended warranties have covered this issue, but Good Sam refused, even after getting all of the documented information on the problem. I had to pay the $4000 out of my pocket even though this should have been covered and I've had this policy so long. Absolutely disappointed in Good Sam.
