Customer Review: Kevin Babb from Lake Wales, FLb

"We did have a claim for a parts and labor job that our car needed and CarShield came through like they said they would. We recommend CarShield to everyone."

CarShield has provided vehicle protection to over 1,000,000 cars since its founding in 2005. Its goal is to "provide an exceptional experience by providing every owner of a vehicle with a dependable, reliable, and affordable solution to unexpected and costly repairs." CarShield offers plans for new cars, used cars, and motorcycles. Each of these plans are designed to be flexible to make it easy for the consumer to customize a plan that fits perfectly to their needs.

Car owners should be aware that extended car warranties do not cover car repairs resulting from normal wear and tear or failure to properly maintain the vehicle. An extended auto warranty also does not cover pre-existing conditions on the vehicle. It is crucial to keep up to date on the maintenance of your vehicle to prevent voiding your car warranty. An extended car warranty is not car insurance. Car insurance helps cover accident repair costs and liability for accidents. To find an insurance policy, research car insurance providers. An extended warranty is also not a manufacturer's warranty. A manufacturer's warranty typically comes with the purchase of a new vehicle and when this warranty expires you cannot get a new manufacturer's warranty. An extended car warranty must be purchased separately.

The Good

  • Variety of Warranty Plans
  • Monthly Plans
  • Other Features
  • Excellent Customer Service

Variety of Warranty Plans

CarShield offers a variety of vehicle service contracts to fit car owners' budgets and their car protection service needs. Each offers a unique level of coverage, giving customers options depending on their coverage needs. CarShield offers coverage for cars with up to 250,000 miles on them. This gives those who have cars with higher mileage the opportunity to purchase a car warranty.

  • Diamond — This plan is most similar to the factory warranty that accompanies a new car. It covers practically all the electrical and mechanical parts on the vehicle, ranging from engine and transmission failures to starter problems, and even the computers and sensors within the vehicle.
  • Platinum — This vehicle service contract is very similar to the Diamond protection plan. It protects your vehicle’s engine, transmission, air conditioner, electrical system, starter, water pump, fuel pump, and more.
  • Gold — Gold coverage is ideal for vehicles with over 100,000 miles. This includes the engine, transmission, water pump, alternator, starter, air conditioner, and power windows
  • Silver — This is the most affordable plan CarShield offers to protect the most essential components in a vehicle, such as the engine, transmission, drive axle, and water pump.
  • Aluminum — Since more modern cars have electrical and electronic systems that can be difficult to repair or replace, this plan covers the most advanced systems in a car. This also includes things like basic computer control systems and the infotainment system within a vehicle. This plan does not cover the Power Train on a vehicle.
  • Other — In this category of CarShield’s plans, you will find a number of options that cover unorthodox types of vehicles. These can include things like motorcycle coverage, ATV coverage, and more.

CarShield's extended warranty plans are for new and pre-owned vehicles.

Monthly Plans

In addition to providing plans that are term-based, such as five years and 60,000 miles of coverage, CarShield offers contracts that renew on a monthly basis so you can keep the coverage on your vehicle for as long as you choose.

Other Features

CarShield offers other features to its clients upon request. All CarShield auto repairs have a very low or nonexistent deductible. When you need a covered repair, it will be fixed 100 percent free, or the customer will be responsible for a minimal deductible for repairs.

Other features are as follows:

  • Courtesy towing anytime your car breaks down
  • Car's engine, axle, and transmission are a few car repairs covered in each CarShield contract
  • Rental car reimbursement with most vehicle service plans
  • 24/7 roadside assistance for vehicle breakdowns

These additional features add value to CarShield's warranties by enhancing client service. Roadside assistance offers peace of mind because car owners can receive help wherever they are on the road. Vehicle service contracts that include rental car coverage offer additional peace of mind because clients know they'll have reliable transportation and financial stability through receiving compensation for a rental car with their extended car warranty benefits.

Allowing clients to choose their repair shop for necessary car repairs, as long as the mechanic is ASE-certified, gives clients flexibility and greater confidence that their car is repaired well. It also allows clients to find more cost-effective repair options than those available at the dealership.

Excellent Customer Service

Overall, the verified reviews that have been left here at Best Company have called customer service at CarShield, "excellent," "quick and painless experience," and "loyal to their customer." CarShield strives to provide great customer service by also offering an option to receive a free quote for coverage, as well as an online form for comments, suggestions, and questions. The company's website is easy to navigate and includes online options to file a claim, check the status of your claim if you already filed a claim, or opt out of mailings or promotions. Overall, the consumers who have left their reviews on Best Company have had positive experiences with CarShield's customer service representatives.

The Bad

  • Limited General Cost and Contract Information

Limited General Cost and Contract Information

In spite of offering a variety of warranty plans, CarShield is less transparent with its prices than other extended car warranty companies.

The website does not disclose the prices, contract lengths, deductibles, or other fees. However, although it does not disclose the specific CarShield cost up front, potential clients can learn the cost of a car warranty through CarShield by requesting a free quote. To receive a free quote, car owners must input their car's make, model, and mileage.

While it can be frustrating for potential clients not to be able to see general information about warranty cost, it is not uncommon for car warranty companies to not put an exact price on their website because the warranty cost varies based on the warranty selected, age of the car, make, model, and odometer reading (mileage). Extended warranties will vary greatly depending on what vehicle you drive.

By working with a CarShield representative, potential clients can learn more specific information about their service contract options and payment plans and compare it against the costs provided by other warranty companies.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Overall, CarShield is a great option for those looking to purchase an extended warranty for their vehicle. Their wide range of coverage options and their low deductible can make CarShield a more attractive option for those trying to get the most out of their plan.

CarShield's offering of monthly plans makes the company the most flexible option to go with and eliminates the high price of term contracts that are the industry standard.

Additional service features, like rental car reimbursement, roadside assistance, and choice of repair facility for car repairs, will make it simple and stress-free to ensure that your vehicle is in good hands. It also helps clients save money by avoiding the high cost of getting car repairs done at a dealership. However, lack of transparency on the website might make it difficult to know the prices and other fees you will have to pay for your warranty plan. Specific contract information for each plan is also not readily accessible on its website.

Since online general information is limited, it is important to work with a CarShield representative to learn specific details about its warranty services, like cost, availability of flexible payment plans, and what protection plan options are available to you. CarShield representatives work with each customer to find affordable coverage options that offer high value.

Furthermore, reading verified CarShield reviews from consumers like you is crucial to determining if an extended warranty through CarShield is a good fit for you. The reviews found on Best Company include negative reviews where some have called CarShield a scam and have also reported having difficulty with CarShield claims. Do extensive research before purchasing a CarShield extended warranty.

I called to get a quote. I said I wasn't going to be getting anything at this time I'm just looking to get a quote. The response I got on the phone was threatening. "What if your car brakes down on the highway? what then? and if you don't sigh up now you'll lose your discount" I said no and thanked them for there time. There reply "So are we putting this on a card?" I just hung up the phone after that.

I experienced the same issue today. I called to get a quote and I literally had to hang up on Anthony the sales rep. He was very pushy. I explained to him several times that I was calling to get a quote. I will not be calling them back.

CarShield is a marketer ONLY; they pass you off to third parties who deny 98%+ of all claims. America Auto Shield is one of their avenues to promise "peace" yet create nightmares. Look at the true 1star/2star reviews on Consumer Affairs. Oh yeah, CarShield reinvented themselves by removing the space between their name, one reason, to hide their "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Purchased extended auto warranty from Car a Shield for all 3 of my vehicles about 5 months ago. Car Shield is a front and sells your account to SCAM WARRANTY COMPANIES! Took one in for repair, not covered, ok but the repair shop said they would not work with this company again due to long wait time to talk with rep. This week took a different car in for A/C service. Compressor clearly covered in my warranty but denied coverage. Spoke to soooo many people, spent over 8 hours on hold in three days while I was supposed to be “on vacation”. The dealership Repairing said they would not sit on hold with this company after the second time they called. I ended up calling and then doing a 3 way call once an adjuster finally answered. Spoke to Hector Adjuster, he spoke to Hans supervisor, the freaking Auto Technician at my repair dealership talked to Blake Floor Manager who was extremely argumentative and rude to both of us. Would not listen to the technician who said the compressor was seized and should be covered accordingly. Blake finally hung up on both of us when the technician began asking specific technical questions to prove my case. Absolutely A SCAM COMPANY!!!

Don’t buy this! What a scam. I was paying over$100.00 a month. I had the mechanic at Honda tell me that I needed to replace my PVC valve. A total cost of $240.00. Car Shield would not cover it. I immediately cancelled. The mechanic at Honda said he has tried to use them 3 times for customers and they weren’t covered

If you put the $100 a month in a jar instead of giving it to CarShield, you would have $1200 a year for any car repair you need with no chance of having your claim denied. $1200 may not be enough for the repair, but it's better than getting $0 from CarShield when they tell you that your specific repair is not covered.

Last year I had saw an ad for Car Shield and thought that it might be a great for my aging car (2013 BMW 535). I called them up and got some basic information but they would do EVERYTHING they could to not let me off that phone. They made up stories to relate to me, gave me hypothetical horror scenarios, and kept coming back to offer discount after discount. When I tried to say that I would call back after speaking with my wife, they pushed even harder for you to commit. I ultimately did but quickly cancelled the next day and got a full refund since they left such a bad taste in my mouth from the experience. Fast forward to now - a sales agent called me back last week and did the same spiel to get me as a customer again. This time I was very non-committal but they did the same thing (relate, worst-case scenarios, the whole bit). When they started to ARGUE with me to sign on, I hung up and blocked the number. Next day, ANOTHER agent called to try and sell me the warranty. I hung up immediately and blocked the number. TODAY, I get a LETTER in the mail making DEMANDS to respond back and sign up for their warranty, even a deadline! They are just the worst. I work in sales and they clearly have no concept of what going too far is.

Car shield set me up for auto payments without my permission (they say it was disclosed to me by the agent who set up my contract. It in fact was not disclosed to me). They then refused to refund me they money they took without my permission and cancel my contract when I called to ask them about the fraudulent charge. When I asked for a supervisor the customer service personnel I was speaking with (Maddie) failed to connect me with one stating “it would take to long to get them”. Hands down worst interactions I have ever had with any company. When I called to get a quote I was extremely pressured into signing up then and there even though I told them I didn’t want to sign up until after I purchased the car I was looking at purchasing multiple times. They are a bunch of snakes trying to take advantage of people and rob them of their hard earned money. DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!! You will regret it if you do!

Car Shield offers the worst service I have ever seen. I have been waiting almost 3 months for my reimbursement on the car rental also they only pid 1/3 of the rental cost and was advise that they don't cover the taxes. Where in the world that they don't cover taxes. They also request a second inspection for the motor to be pulled that they don't cover also the cost of your deductible. But they don't have a problem taking that payment out of your account on a regular basis.

The work don't take over 4 hours but yet my car been sitting for 4 days and they don't feel the need to pay for me a car rental! The worst bullcrap company. Do not buy an extended warranty from CarShield. My car was having some noise and i took it to the shop, they told me maybe the turbos are bad, they called CarShield and the inspector look and said the turbos look bad but i need the shop to take them down to make sure, so they did and yes they were bad and the inspector wrote in his report, it was wear and tear, the car is a 2007 and have 140k miles when i took the powertrain with turbo warranty. Of course everything will be wear and tear in a vehicle that old. They told me after taking the turbos down, they will not pay for wear and tear that there is a clause in the contract about that. Then they keep passing me around on the phone and said that Car shield sales the warranty but the claim company is different and both don’t want to take responsibility. Don’t trust what the sales person tells you and don’t waste your money with this type of warranty companies that only want to take your money.

I do my research before signing up with any company. I talked to Car Shield and they seemed nice enough. However, when I wanted to go over what was not covered, as well as what their personal opinion was of the company, I got very craftily redirected to another part of the conversation. I then asked the attendant if it was ok that I record the call because it would help me remember exactly what was discussed when I signed up and they hung up. So, after that, I went to the Better Business Bureau and this is EXACTLY (word-for-word) what's on their website. Says it all if you ask me. USE CAUTION!!! Better Business Bureau says: Additional Complaint Information Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with CarShield, an Auto Service Contract company. BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints alleging misleading sales and advertising practices, many times indicating thecompany led them to believe they were the manufacturer or dealer, rudecustomer service, failure to cover needed repairs, difficulty cancellinga policy and obtaining a refund, and that the firm made harassing callsor sent harassing mail solicitations.

Don't do it! I took my car in for a covered AC compressor issue. Now take into account I live in Las Vegas, temp was 103 degrees. Called claim number I was given and no answer, 2nd number no answer, so called cust service who said have dealer call yet another number put on hold for 27 min. (Yes, i timed it). Then was told they are closing in 15 min. Put on hold again for 18 min and then they hung up. Next day called again, no answer so I called cust service to transfer to claims put on hold (14 min) then was told an inspector had to come look at car and it would be the following week! The inspector was some yahoo from a repair shop that goes to a certified Chevy dealer and tells them, "oh yeah its the compressor". Took another complete week to get "inspector" there, report given to Car Shield and only a half day to fix the car! To get a rental car, I would have to pay in advance then wait for reimbursement which was not said to me during sales call. I was told "you can go get a rental car, tell the rental agent you have Carshield and they will rent you a car." NOT! I did not rent the car, instead i had to depend on friends to drive me around and hated that so ended up not going anywhere for almost 2 wks. I'm 69 years old, on a fixed income and bought Carshield to make things easier. BS. It took 2 weeks to take care of a compressor part that was repaired in half a day. Car Dealer was disgusted at number of times they were on hold and length of time. I AM CANCELING.

I contacted this company in good faith recently and was up front with them saying that at this time I was just window shopping comparing both coverages and pricing. The agent at that time said that she understood and helped me with what I wanted. That however was not the end of things! I have since been heckled, pestered and downright annoyed with the constant sometimes more than one a day calls from these people in spite of my telling them now in no uncertain terms that I was merely window shopping and had no intention of committing to anything at this time. That has had no effect on their annoying and pushy agents. I have now blocked their number in my phone and would not contact them or commit to any coverage less than free bumper to bumper coverage for the life of my Cadillac XTS. Makes me wonder what they do to others who in good faith contact them!!!

I had problems with my truck and had it towed to the dealership. Well after finding out what was wrong with it I was informed by the dealership that Carsheild wasnt going to cover the repair unless they could ship in the parts to the dealership instead of the using their own parts. I was told by Carsheild that I would need to go to another auto shop that would accept shipped in parts. I asked for a list in my area and every one of them said they wouldn't accept Carsheild. Now I'm left just paying 1800 for the repair. This warranty service should be shut down!

I am advising everyone who writes a review about carshield, to do so after their car breaks down and they need to use their coverage. If u notice, really the only good reviews about them are from people who have not had to use their coverage yet, and just had good customer service. I made that mistake but am making up for it by telling people feeling like u have piece of mind and actually having it is 2 different things. They will most likely never help you if your car breaks down, and see how good their customer service is then.

Dec. 18, 2019 I had a problem with the electrical system on my car, my side mirror motor went out and the entire mirror needed to be replaced. Before we took the car to the dealership to get it fixed we called the dealership to see if they accepted carshield and they did. We went on the website to see if electrical was covered and it was. But when the dealership called carshield customer service they said they did not cover that. This is the biggest rip off. They have a choice of what part of the electrical they will cover. Electrical is electrical, you should not be able to pick and chose what part is covered.

Car Shield / American Auto Shield: Everything was perfect until I actually filed a claim. I signed up and they debited my account for the monthly payments without any issues at all, LOL. As soon as I actually needed them to perform their part of the agreement they informed me that they do not cover the particular things my vehicle needed, which is really weird because the sales rep that signed me up told me that the coverage was basically like the original manufacturer's warranty except for things like brake pads, fluids or regular maintenance type services. I also find it interested that you can only cancel your contract and get a refund within 30 days of signing up with Car Shield but you can't file a claim within the first 30 days so basically you are out some money before you will figure out that they are a complete scam. The lady I spoke with was extremely rude and short with me, she kept interrupting me and talking over me, it was obvious to me very quickly that they had no intention of helping me whatsoever and were fine with cancelling my contract because they had already received several hundred dollars from me without having to provide any service or pay for any claims. This company has no integrity or honor and simply wants to scam you out of as much money as they can before you figure out that they are the only ones that will benefit from the relationship. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Doesn’t even deserve one star. Our transmission went out. The car has been in the shop for 8 days. 8 days. A family of six has had no vehicle with two babies 3 and under. Nobody knows their head from their butt here. And everyone gives different information. Everyday they are “reviewing” and “ will call us back”. We have not received one phone call from them. Our claim is still not approved. Nobody cares when you call. Nobody has any sense of urgency when we have called. It’s a long never ending battle. If your job or life depends on your vehicle find another company for your vehicle. Save yourself the hassle.

I bought a car shield extended warrantee. Big mistake. They do NOT fix your car. They use any excuse to not cover ANYTHING. No repair, no rental car, no nothing. They paid NOTHING. This company is the biggest scam I ever encountered. Hundreds of dollars paid to them and nothing coming back, I wish I'd had researched them before I bought a policy from them .90% of the reviews I had read are 1 star ratings . There advertising is packed with lies. and I'd bet the good ratings are made up by employees of the company . ANY company with so many bad ratings and still be in business is a mystery to me. Why doesn't the BBB work to close this rip off Co. down. The100's of bad comments should close there doors. How can this crooked company still be operating.

I contracted with this company about two months ago. Ito see the contract but it refused to provide the contract after I contracted with them. To this date, I have never seen the contract, only a welcome letter that provides no details on what is covered. Two days I experienced a break down. Although an hour later the car started, it worried me so I took it to my mechanic who tried to initiate a claim. They kept my mechanic on hold for over an hour and they gave me the run-around. My mechanic is a small business, and has no administrative help - he doesn't have the time for this stuff, and neither do I. I told my mechanic that I had cancelled the warranty with Car Shield and to fix the car at my expense. I do not recommend this company.

Don’t waste your money in this scam. I called Car Shield for a quote. The salesman said the plan costs $99 a month with a $100 deductible . I said I couldn’t afford it. He said he could lower it to $89 a month. When I told him no, he said he would lower it to $79 a month with no deductible. I should have known right then it was a scam. However dummy me was sucked into the sales pitch. When I had a problem and needed the shift assembly replaced. They didn’t cover it. The repaid man said he’s had lots of problems with Car Shield not paying for repairs. He said thus part should have been covered. I cancelled my plan and I advise anyone to avoid this company like the plague!!!

This company is a total scam. Their warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on. When you call Car Shield and speak to a sales rep., they tell you whatever it takes for you to purchase a contract, then when you actually make a payment and they send you the warranty contact as described as "Gold Coverage" which is only a Power Train warranty that does not cover any electrical, no cables, nothing with the breaking system, no lights or harnesses, only internal non-electrical transmission parts, anything external they won't cover. Guess what...... if your actual transmission fails and you need a new transmission Car Shield does not cover that either. Because their bottom line is far more important than fixing your vehicle. Basically they only cover what is low cost to fix and what us unlikely to break on your vehicle. They have no problem charging you over $100 a month for what they call Gold Coverage which is more like Copper Coverage because when something actually breaks on your vehicle and you take it to your mechanic or dealer, it is like pulling teeth for a mechanic or dealer to get in touch with a Car Shield rep. for an authorization, and there is a 1% chance that they will cover what is actually wrong with the car. Car Shield pay a lot of money for their television commercials and the celebrities they pay to endorse their service so they have to pass that expense onto the consumer while making sure that they get away with actually paying little or in most cases NOTHING towards the repair of any customer's vehicle. If you really think about it and if they were genuinely honest and straight forward with their warranties and they had to pay 50 % of the claims that were presented to them they would go out of business, so they are really worse than the auto insurance companies because even the auto insurance companies will pay on more of their customer's claims than Car Shield. The best extended warranty is through the car dealership because you get to review the contract first before you buy and see what is actually covered, also the dealer's extended warranty companies have different levels of coverage so you won't be throwing your money away like with Car Shield. I had my car at the dealers for two totally different issues and car shield denied both of them, they also don't like when you call them to cancel your contract. Their customer reps., are trained to keep you on the phone and feed you more lies as to why you need to keep paying for their warranty. They also try to charge you a $75 cancellation fee if you cancel and they have to pro-rate you. This company is ridiculously unscrupulous and only care about how money money they can scam out of customers. Even the service dealers don't like working with, because they never respond to requests for authorization and when they can get a hold of an adjuster they deny the claims. This company also has an F on the Better Business Bureau so that tells you that most of their customers are dissatisfied with their service. I had to call all my family, friends, and coworkers and tell them not to use Car Shield because their warranties are basically worthless and they have no problem charging you premium fees for a zero warranty. Remember Car Shield does not care about you or fixing your vehicle, they just want your money for as long as they can scam you.

I would like to give them no stars! I have been trying for almost two weeks to get a decision on an electric problem with my car. Both the dealership and I have tried to get an answer. We wait for every to get someone on the phone and then when we do they have no answer and promise to get back with us and don't. In the mean time, I'm continuing to pay for a warranty that is useless. I have never had this customer service in my entire life and I'm 60 years old. Once this issue is resolved, I will cancel my warranty and will NEVER have another one through Car Shield.

What I like best about this company is the way the encourage you to get their warranty. I cannot honestly say anything else positive other than there are a few good people that works in customer service that couldn't help me. My car has been in shop for 9 days and we cannot get in touch with claims Dept and they will not call back! I am so frustrated I have to pray God gives me peace. I am in awe at the service of this company. Se real times I got customer service and they say, "claims will call you within 24 hrs." But they never did. It is going on 10th day, still dont have car and I owe the repair facility. I will file a claim against CarShield for reimbursement of my payment to them and repair facility.

This has to be the biggest rip off in history of insurances . You put Car Shield into to your computer and automatically sends you to sales. When you call them you always get the same voice list no matter what number you use. If do find someone to talk to it never seem to be the one your looking for, or has the information you need. Just now I was talking to customer service and while waiting to come up on his computer, I could hear in the background another service contact telling "SOME POOR SOUL" that they hadn't sent in the right information. Meanwhile, My customer service contact ,said that yes they had received the invoice and was waiting for something else, and that he would hand me off to some one in claims. And their it was " THE VOICE LIST". Their rating of 4.2 is all in their "SALES DEPARTMENT". Don't listen to their lies. I found out in my area no one wants to work with this insurance because they have all their unusual demands, such as teardown before submitting a work request. Also they want three or more written work request per item. In my case, I was having trouble getting my car started an discovered that I my battery cable was loose, so stopped off at my mechanic. He replaced the battery cable end. when I tried to start the car it wouldn't turnover. Starter needed to be replaced. Okay, what am I suppose to do? Have towed to three different mechanic's I gave my mechanic, who i.ve known for fifty years the go ahead. There is were my grievance lies. At the end of this review theirs a place to attach the bill to a file which it say's is 5mb. When I try to put a file of 4.8mb , it say's it to big. Another minus for them. How can you give less then one star?

I started Car shield on my 2014 Dodge charger on 9/11/20. The car had 72510 miles and when I talked to Justin, I was told that the coverage was good after 500 miles or 20 days, whichever comes first. I had a Check engine light come on after 1,100 miles but only 11 days has passed. Car shield refused to handle the problem per their contract. Sounds like bait and switch to me. Very unhappy will consider another car warranty service other than Car Shield in the future and for future vehicles. Should get a refund of my first month.

I paid for a car warranty contract for 2 years. Just before the last payment, the dealer states I need a new transmission. CarShield doesn't state in their numerous commercials the back and forth process you will have to go through. This starts on 11/25/20, they wanted records of all my oil changes. The dealer sent them twice and I sent them once before they would acknowledge they had received them. I was told the records had to be reviewed before the dealer could proceed. We wait for several days. They finally tell the dealer they can break down the transmission but I have to agree because if they don't find anything wrong with the unit when they send an inspector out, I have to pay the $1300 for labor. The inspector comes out and we wait for the results. I call, you can only talk to customer service, not the adjuster, I am told they are waiting on my records of service. Now, they say there isn't a record of 45,000-mile transmission service. The dealer states it isn't required until 100,000 miles. I call I complain to the office where I am paying. They say if the dealer can send the documentation that it is 100,000 they can move forward because they get their information off the internet. The dealer sends the documentation and they still won't pay. The dealer asked the question, why didn't you say that record was needed before they authorized the break down of the transmission. The dealer was told they never reviewed the records. their mistake, not mine. Therefore, I am out of $4300. It is 12/22/20 and they have ordered the part but who knows when it will arrive since it is the holidays. Don't buy a contract with CarShield. they don't honor their contracts.

When I was about to sign up, I asked them when will my car be due for service. They said after 20 days. When my car showed signs of service, I called & they told me to take it to any ASE certified mechanic and that the mechanic will diagnose and the bill. When my mechanic submitted the bill estimate, they told him that the has a preexisting fault & that that they cannot foot the bill. They didn't agree to refund my the money I paid them. Please beware of CarShield because they 100% fraud. They are nothing but scamers

Neo Geo ,

I have an issue with my Turbo on my 09 Forester XT. I have the Gold plan. The dealer where I service my vehicle did an extensive test on the Turbo at the request of an adjuster from Car Shield. After presenting the results, Car Shield denied claim saying that the seals in the turbo assembly are not covered. This is unacceptable because Turbo shaft and gaskets are assembled together. I am cancelling my policy with them immediately and I hope anyone that is looking at Car Shield, looks again because they do NOT honor their agreements like they want you to believe.

They give you a hassle about the… They give you a hassle about the warranty, it took almost two months to get my car fixed, and when they did fix it the put a used transmission in my car which broke down again in 8 months. Lied about the warranty that covered the used transmission, said it’s was covered a year but then said it’s only covered up to 12,000 miles. Now the refused to honor the transmission they put in my car. They lied about the diamond coverage, by saying it covers your car like it’s an brand new car, that’s false also. Because I had an convertible, which I directly asked them would it be covered she said yes. My convertible top button was sticking there refused to replace it saying that’s not covered, either. Please don’t waste your money with this company. Scam artists!! 1/9/2020

MARCIA KIRKPATRICK ,

Do not buy a car warranty from Car Shield. They lie and take your money. .They do not back the customer up on claims. Ask me to take my car to the Buick dealership for repair. Let the mechanic know you have a warranty with Car Shield. Buick dealership charged me $300 up front then called Car shield filed a claim. I called Car Shield to spoke to the manager who told me to email my paperwork for a refund. I waited 1 month never received a call from the company. Spoke to customer service representative who unprofessionally denied me to talk to another manager as a follow up to the refund. After threatening to call headquarters she then wanted to transfer me to a supervisor. Also, strangely talking on the phone to the same lady suddenly tell me the claim was denied. All the supervisors do not support you and go with whatever data wrtten without even investigating information other than the motor only which does not cover almost nothing. I challenge all customers who had a bad experience to post complaints. The CEO I was told will not return calls only the managers do business.

CarShield is an ABSOLUTE JOKE of a company. DO NOT purchase their warranty, it won't cover ANYTHING that needs repair and if your contract says it's covered, they will place so many restrictions on whatever it is they need to, to avoid having to pay for anything. I have had 3 claims that the mechanics in all circumstances are surprised that the warranty company isn't covering it. All the mechanics also stated that when trying to call CarShield, they were hung up on multiple times and it was a bad experience for every single mechanic who tried to work with them. One time, it could be a fluke, second time, maybe it's fishy, but three times in the row? The only 3 times I filed a claim, they were all denied due to situations and times that the repair should have been covered, and it wasn't. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY, find another warranty. Don't make the mistake I did, assuming that they would stick to their word and help you out. IT'S A SCAM.
